Truth be told, its a difficult process not just for Nigerians but the world over for lawyers cos till now skill select shows no lawyer has been invited to apply. I don't think any lawyer is on this thread or the previous one (I might be wrong though). I know it takes time and u need to be registered in australia and may need to write some exams or so from the little I've heard bellong and NNBB2012 talk about it. But its not impossible which means its still doable. I think each state has their criteria not so sure about that but I'll suggest u go through www.lpab.justice.nsw.gov.au (its for NSW,I didn't see that of other states) to get the info required to start so u know what ur up against to make a decision while u wait for more enlightened people to give u more tips and advise.

Its been mentioned so many times on this thread that engineers dont need work experience to get a positive assessment. as recent as a few pages back.

Not declaring ur Msc to get points from work experience only concerns ur assessing body. When it comes to visa application u need to say all u have and everywhere u have been. so I'll advise u start the process to get ur police report from the UK in case it takes time.

1) I have MSc degree from a university in the UK. Declaring it will set me back with some point as I won't be able to claim points for work experience before I started the MSc prog. Must I declare it or not?

2) after my MSc prog in 2009 I stayed in the UK for few years before coming back to Nigeria. If am not declaring my MSc Degree do I have to give details of my stay in the uk after 2009 and police report from the uk.? Y ur not getting the help u really need is cos ur posts on this thread started with deceit. u saying u just got a positive assessment from EA when u didnt even study an engineering course as we can see now. Bellong is the best to give u vetassess advice but I guess he's still pissed at u. Meanwhile, from my experience with EA cos I also used direct entry,send ur diploma results as well to avoid delay in assessment time. Uv been told time without number to avoid 489 as much as u can but u seem to love the idea of 489. I'm very sure uve not read what the various visa subclasses (189,190 & 489) have to offer. I advise u to do that on dibp website (www.border.gov.au).

Check the occupation ceilings on the skillselect page on dibp website. In addition, to see the tasks of the various occupations to see if ur in line, go to www.anzscosearch.com

work experience is counted from the date u completed ur study, so do the math. the work experience has to be related to the occupation ur nominated for it to be considered. go to www.anzscosearch.com and check the tasks of the 4 occupations u saw n see if they match ur present duties.

I did a part-time B.sc program while working hence I have more than 10years working experience though it is difference from my CSOL list But my academic qualification is related to more than four (4) of the list profession.

Please note that Pearson Ikeja (Awolowo way) is different from UKEAS Ikeja (Opebi road). Pearson charges 50k, while UKEAS charges 45k.

if ikeja (UKEAS) is telling u 50k then thats the price cos a center told me the same price in ph n usually ikeja is the cheapest. 2 months ago ikeja charged 45k

Leaving it open for all states is 50 50...cos if u think about it u will want someone that really shows commitment to only u. My opinion,it can happen either way in the real case.

I'll try to answer as best as I can. People, pls correct me where I'm wrong.

1. Some states require u to apply to them first, then they nominate u if they want to. others like NSW require u only select them in ur EOI. so u need to visit their various sites to get this info based on ur case.

2. Dont know much about 489 but I'll advise u to avoid it as best u can. since ur occupation has a 70point benchmark, if u cant make it, stick to 190.

3. I dont know what u mean here but if ur asking if u theres a list showing people that have got state nominations then I suggest u browse thru immitracker.

4. Same as 2. In addition, once a state nominates u n u now have at least 60 points u should get invited cos 189 occupational ceilings dont affect u and so I guess the number of points u have should not matter anymore.

Ur work experience is calculated after u complete the most recent educational qualification ur presenting. If u dont present ur Msc it will start as normal. So u have a choice to make, get the points from Msc and forfeit work experience points or get the points from work experience and forfeit the extra points the Msc will fetch u.

I got my HND in the year 2000,went for National Service and started working in 2001 till date in the same company.i just got my Msc in 2014,are u now saying the work experience will be calculated after the Msc was awarded. they cant expect someone to have Msc before working.please kindly explain.

No, if her degree is assessed to equal associate degree, she will only get 10points. She would have had 15 if it was assessed to equal AQF Bachelor degree.

Again I want to assess for marketing specialist due to some document requested for Insurance broker that I couldn't provide but Anszco need bsc for mkt specialist while insurance broker is diploma.

From the bolded statement it means u meet the requirements for the occupation. I guess that once u meet the requirements for the occupation u should get the full 15 points, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There's the engineering technologist occupation on both lists.

what's the hope of someone with HND certificate with almost 8yrs of experience as a technologist in polytechnic, bec all I'm seeing there is degrees and diplomas. ,electrician ,engineer no middle level manpower jobs like technologist.

Occupations usually have unit groups with the first 4 digits of the anzsco code being the same. for pet eng the closely related occupation is mining eng. its not broken down into the specializations u mentioned though some occupations have specializations listed. to see tasks of occupations go to www.anzscocode.com

Its just like I told u earlier, if what u studied is not related to the nominated occupation it wont fly. but if u have enough years of experience to make up for the absence of the core engineering courses related to the occupation it should fly. I dont know how many years of experience r required for this. I got this info from NNBB2012 cos I studied petroleum engineering but I've been working as a chemical engineer and wanted to nominate chemical engineering, he first asked me how many years of experience I have and when I told him he said I should rather nominate petroleum engineering and use ITs and projects to writ my CDR to avoid getting engineering technologist outcome by nominating chemical engineering.

In summary, if u want to do this cos of the points u hope to get from work experience, I'll really encourage u to gather the max points from english test and nominate an occupation with tasks closely related to ur first degree. Or u can explore the other option u said u have.

ur not actually saying anything to anyone, ur just submitting ur employment letter and other supporting docs. is it stated in ur employment letter that u will be working for Exxon? truth is, it doesnt really matter, they're not looking out for big names. even self employed individuals get positive assessments.

Ielts for Engineers Australia I presume, I think it can be either of them because they did not request a specific one. But just to be safe take the general. I think the spouse needs english if u wanna claim spousal points, competency minimum. Is it u or ur husband thats the pet engineer? I nominated the same occupation.

Well, based on that response, I guess the decision lies with u now. U have to go to www.anzscosearch.com and check out the tasks for an agric engineer and make sure that ur cdr focuses on those tasks. And like they said, make sure ur transcript reflects core engineering courses. Goodluck.

U just need a normal account, savings will suffice. Its a normal naira debit mastercard. Go to the nearest branch and get started.

In mine I didn't submit documentary evidence for one of my ITs, n it wasn't a problem. As for u needing the points from work experience I'll say u should then go for the industrial engineering since u have more than 4 years exp there. Just contact EA to be doubly sure cos I'm not so sure about it.

Thanks for your response. If indeed this is the case, it is certainly a game changer for me then - and probably not a very good one. My reasons are (1) Writing a career episode using my BSc engineering degree alone will be tough. If I eventually manage to write the career episode based on my project and Industrail attachment (IT) experience, I do not have documentary evidence of my IT employment (I doubt the company still exists). (2) Yes, I need to claim points for my work experience, except I get the maximum points from IELTS which will then give me the exact 60 points required.

I think I would send EA an email outlining these concerns. But in the meantime, what do you suggest I do?

It depends on how much the fee ur paying is. I just told u what their current limits r,so if ur fee is within that range then ur good to go. if its not then u cant use stanbic. Unfortunately, thats the way it is man.
