@chuckdee13. i applied via fast track, and they waited for 10 working days, as stated on their website, before assigning my cdr to an assessor. i applied initially for chemical engineering. call them on tuesday next week if you do not get a response on the website. the contact phone number is on the EA website. @malkinburg, i am still waiting for your response. thanks.

That's good news at least. What occupation did u initially nominate? When did u submit to EA? Did u fast track? I submitted a fast track since Monday last week and its still queued for assessment.

@malkinburg. Kindly update us on how to get the Australian experience through internships or industry placements. What steps do we take? Any particular 'packaging' to get us in? Any particular trainings we need to go through there to get in? How do I get the relevant experience in environmental engineering to be considered? Thinking and planning ahead, and I believe u, Bellong and co r positioned to enlighten and educate us. I got positive outcome this morning from EA as Engr technologist. Thanks.

Y not nominate ur exact engineering qualification...like if u studied civil engineering u nominate civil engineering so that bad as e bad if ur given engineering technologist u take that one but at least u gave ur occupation a shot. because the competition for engineering technologist is very tight. my opinion.

Thanks a lot. That is a relieve. you have completely put my mind at rest. I will nominate Engineering Technologist when the time come. The Info Tech field is too competitive. Now it is time to prepare for IELTS and PTE A ( or who knows maybe my IELTS result will be high enough) .

You can send a mail to them, they would send the company account number to you, make online payment and send receipt back to them.

Ok I'll try my Stanbic card. Someone told me he also had a problem paying online but got a voucher for 45,000 almost around the same time u got urs. Thanks for the info

Couldn't pay online with a GTB card, so I purchased a voucher from the centre. Paid into the centre's account and got the voucher code sent to me.



I paid NGN 36,000 when I registered in February.

Go to border.gov.au and navigate to the skill select page. A way to get there is by clicking on working visa n then u will see skill select there on the left pane. On the skill select page u will see occupation ceiling as one of the options there.

Congrats jukeblam I really do tap into this.

In addition to what bellong has said,try going to ur bank to raise ur limit. Maybe the whole cbn policy us messing with it too.

I would like some clarification regarding, claiming maximum points for superior English.

I've got L 8.5, W 8.0, S 8.5 & R 7.0 in IELTS this is an overall of 8.0

with the score above, can I get 20 points? or I have retake it and must score 8,8,8,8.

This confusion is as a result of what they stated about superior English..." have at least 8 across all bands"

just want to be sure if it is the overall band score, or I must have 8 in each band.

Frankly I'm hoping I don't have to take this IELTS again.

Only EA can say u have the work experience u claim. so if u want to do that u will have to send just that work experience to EA for assessment.

hmm,interesting.it seems its how many high points one can garner.let me ask,at present am on 65 points without claiming points for work experience, and am waiting till july before i can expect to be invited. by june, i wld be three years on my present job,so that means i can then claim work experience and 5 points,which would add up to 70 points,ur opinion on this Sirs..

If u can get it reactivated do that so u can apply for ur statement of that period. if u have ur pay slips, add those as well.

I think that with 6yrs experience u can apply for an occupation that needs banking experience on the SOL or CSOL irrespective of the course u studied. Check the SOL n CSOL for occupations that match ur experience to know the one u will nominate. Use the website www.anzscosearch.com to see the duties ur required to have done. theres a code beside each occupation, enter this code into the search bar.

Please anyone can correct me where I'm wrong so I dont mislead anyone.

They have been of great support to me in my PR paroles.
I lodger my application to EA on the 11th of April this year,and the outcome came in early today 21st April 2016 I did the fast track one.I applied as a professional Engineer, but in the outcome letter, they said my qualification is equivalent to Engineering Technologist. And that my degree is equivalent to Australia Qualification Framework as bachelors degree. I want to know if this qualifies me to v the 15points.

I wrote IELTS last year, I had above the 6.0 band score but my score didn't fetch me points.however I did PTE jst last month on the 16th of match, result came out early the following day,17th march.
Listening 81
Reading 90
Speaking 84
Writing 80
As it is now, my total points accumulated
English test -20 points
Age-32----- 25 or 30 points,by end of November I wld b a year older, I really don't know which point to pick 25 or 30
Bachelors degree(elect/ elect engineering with telecommunications option--------- 15
Total points= 60 or 65 depending on age point
I want the dons in the house to clarify on the engineering technologist thing.

Yeap. Technically, you are not paying for the exam at first. It is more of a pre-qualifying stage. If they feel you need to do some extra courses or a bridging course before the exam, they will let you know.

But the fees won't be refunded after assessment. Don't worry, I doubt you will be found unworthy.

3. The permanent residency visa is a bit tricky. I will just list out the points.
a. The visa itself is valid for 5yrs, if you intend travelling in and out. But at the same time, you can live in Aus indefinitely on the same visa, if you don't intend travelling out of the country.
b. If you intend travelling out and returning to the country after the 5yrs is up, and you don't have citizenship, you will need a RRV (Resident Return Visa). It is advisable to get it onshore before leaving. It takes just 1-2days if onshore, but up to a week if offshore.
c. But, to qualify for a RRV, you must have stayed a total of 2 years (it can be a combination of different short stays) during the 5yr period.
d. There are some exceptional circumstances where a stay of less than 2yrs can be accepted.
e. You have to validate your visa within 1yr of medicals and/or pcc.

Thanks alot for ur response. Its clearer now. Ur reaponse has raised one more question though. Does it mean that after paying the exam fees u might still not be seen as qualified to write it...then what happens to the fees paid?

No. It means graduates of those schools do not need to write an examination. Graduates of Vet from schools not listed there, have to put in a request for the exam by submitting a couple of documents and paying the fee. Once they are assessed as qualified to write the exam, they will be given the go ahead.

The exam is in 2 phases....basically theory and practical....but at different times. Once you pass both components, you are then eligible to register, which in turn makes you eligible for a skill assessment.

Skill assessment is what is required at the visa application stage.

I was doing some research for a friend that's a vet. On the AVBC website it talks about recognized schs in some countries and Nigeria isn't there, does it mean that those who studied in Nigeria won't even be able to write the exam not to talk of getting assessed? Because according to a checklist, if u cant answer "yes" that your qualification is on the list of generally recognized qualifications u cant be assessed. Please if u have any idea about vets point me in the right direction.
