opa4pr:
Yes I have less than 10 months work experience in an Accounting field, more years experience in administration and training.
You feel the work experience and using my degree could work?
I'll also like to know how you knew Diploma is needed for the Training and development.
Thanks boss

Check your assessing body to know if either one is required or you can choose. As for the band, the higher the better for points... minimum of 6 in each = 0point, 7 in each = 10 points and 8 in each = 20 points
Apart from what your assessing body requires there are other english tests you can take to boost your points with their various score descriptions. Read the first post by Bellong on this thread to get the list of links to visit.
Elixir123:
And another thing ,please which IELTS should I and spouse take for PR processing to Aussie: General or Academic? And what band should we be aiming for? We are both Professionals.
Thanks guys!

Ask ur bank how much the exchange rate is and you will know, we cant really answer that question for u here. Jorgan has answered the other question.
elnino2015:
Hello house,

Please I have some pertinent questions that I need you guys to answer

1. Do Australian universities request for official transcripts sent from foreign universities to consider international students for admission like US and Canada schools do

2. How much is the current exchange rate of the AUD to the NGN. I'm applying to UNSW and they are requesting for an application fee of AUD100. Please I'll like to know the Naira equivalent of this.

Thanks in anticipation for your answers.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 7:39am On Apr 18, 2016
I'll like to correct this. each bank has an official conversion rate for every currency, all u need do is ask. he has to ask his bank for the official rate for AUD. as for Stanbic, as at a few days ago, it was 1 AUD to 210 Naira.
jorgan:
Hello,

1. Yes Australian unis request for your official transcript. You can send directly to the school you plan to apply yourself or you can request your school to make the transfer (soft copy).

2. Nigeria trades in three major currencies, the USD, POUNDs and EUROs! And the most widely used is the USD. No set rate for the AUD. However, you can get around this, since you will pay for your application fee using your debit or credit bank provided by a Nigerian bank, u will be debited in USD/naira. Hence the rate of 1 USD to 1 AUD as @ the point of typing this is 1.30 dollars. Now divide AUD100 by 1.30 this approximately gives you USD77 then multiply the USD77 by the black market rate of your debit card provider, say 295 naira (Stanbic). Your application fee then is 22,715 naira.

I hope this is clear enough?!

TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 10:56am On Apr 01, 2016
lemme try to help out here. if ur occupation is only on CSOL u must go for 190 if its on both SOL n CSOL then if u have 60 points u should go for 189 no need to go for 190. if u have 55 points then u go for 190,apply to a state to nominate u, when u meet their criteria and they nominate u...u then get 5 points n that makes up 60 for u. I hope this helps.
hordunayodt:
Thank you sir; God bless you positively. Also which is easier? 190 or 189 after the 60 points have been obtained. I'm kinda confused about the state nomination part, dunno how to go about it. Thanks for your response

Ok this is good. A relief I must say. Cos I also have a national diploma used to enter 200l in Futo. Please can I pm u for a sample of ur CDR? I'm preparing mine n need all the help I can get. Thx a lot
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 8:56pm On Mar 27, 2016
An email from their website.
mctowel01:
Same as my plight. How did you contact EA?
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 3:07pm On Mar 27, 2016
I'm sorry to butt in but did u just say ur not sure if he'll get a positive assessment? undecided I got my national diploma from PTI n then used it to get direct entry for the same petroleum engineering...will this case be different or the same as above? Though I contacted EA about this months back n they said what they'll really look at is the transcript to see uve done what they want u to have done or something like that...
NNBB2012:
You might not get Professional Engineer because ur degree is less than 5yrs but i will advise you to give it a go. Certainly, you will be given at least Engineering Technologist which will still give you 15points.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 5:30pm On Mar 24, 2016
No...in the process. Read thru the thread or my posts n u will see those who have been assessed
ENGRJCJ:
ok bro, thanks. Has EA assessed you?
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 12:07pm On Mar 24, 2016
yes u can but u must use IELTS for EA
ENGRJCJ:
bro, can i use PTE-A for DIBP
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 5:02pm On Mar 23, 2016
@ENGRJCJ
Go to engineers australia website, download the MSA booklet and read through it. then u will understand it and then u will be able to easily ask questions on things that confuse u. www.engineersaustralia.org.au visit that site and download the booklet. thats ur first step. read thru it n then come back for clarifications. u will see all u need to do and acquire...before thinking about applying.
I hope this helps.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 7:16am On Mar 23, 2016
Yea thats so true. Thx alot for the advice.
jukeblam:
You could use the IELTS to apply for EA assessment right away, while you register and take the PTE-A.
In the time taken to wait for the IELTS re-marked result (about 6 weeks or more), you would have gotten your EA assessment completed via fast-track, EOI submitted and maybe invitation received even.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 7:15am On Mar 23, 2016
oh!...I guess I'll just use it like this then cos with or without extra marks I'll still need to write PTE. thx alot.
oknee:
If you are applying for remark, then you can't use it until you get the final report.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 5:32pm On Mar 22, 2016
ur not interfering, ur contribution is welcome. I didnt even know about the whole refund so I dont know what exactly will be refunded...n I wanted to be sure I could use it for EA cos I cant use it for points n NNBB2012 talked about a remark so I needed to clarify.
Thanks for the clarification.
TempusQ:
Oga! I'm sorry to interfere, I think you already know the answer to your question. Or do you think they'll refund you the entire initial cost? Just because you extra marks? Ah haba nah!

It's only the remark cost they'll refund you. And yes you can use it for EA assessment.

Good luck...
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 2:14pm On Mar 22, 2016
ok thanks for the info...I have 2 questions if u dont mind; can I use this result as it is for EA and what will be refunded to be if I get extra marks, the remark cost or the entire initial cost?
thanks for your response.
NNBB2012:
If you got 6.5 in writing, then you can apply for a remark. Of course, you will pay but if you eventually get an extra 0.5 your money will be refunded.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 10:31am On Mar 22, 2016
I got the 6.5 in writing...though a remark wont really help cos I got & in reading and speaking. but getting a refund if I'm awarded extra marks sounds tempting. do I need to pay for a remark?
NNBB2012:
Where did you get 6.5? If you got that in either W or S, you can call for remark while you try PTE. If you eventually get extra points, your money will be refunded.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 5:50pm On Mar 21, 2016
IELTS General
LSRW 8.5, 7, 7, 6.5
This is really poor cos its even 0 points...Kai. Anyway on to PTE. I'll use this one for EA assessment. PTE for points grin

Wooooooooooooooow!!!!!!! Congrats buddy!!!! This year has just been raining PR grants. Awesome news. Blessings from ur baby. This is awesome. I'm so happy for u,after the long wait God crowned ur efforts.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 3:13pm On Mar 10, 2016
I think that without the qualification for u to assess teaching years of experience will come into play, I stand to be corrected. submitting EOI is not the first step. u first need to find out what list the occupation ur nominating is on (SOL/CSOL) and then u will know the responsible assessing body for it, assess ur qualifications, write english test n then make sure u now have a minimum of 60 points before u can submit ur EOI. u need all these first because u have just 60days to apply for the visa after ur invited thru skillselect n I dont think u can get all this done in that time.
Hope this helps.
7Alexander:
thanks mozo, bellong, scrollmeout. I think I will have to go with the teaching as I feel it will be more straightforward. Do you guys think that the absence of any teaching qualification will be a problem, even in view of my experience in the field?
If no, can I now proceed with submitting EOI, which according to border.gov.au is the first step, through skillselect?
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 8:28pm On Mar 08, 2016
Ok thanks for the clarification. I'll use it for my CDR then.
NNBB2012:
You don't need it.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 3:51pm On Mar 08, 2016
Wow! So that means I don't have enough experience to nominate chemical engineering. I appreciate your response. In the MSA booklet its stated that u need to provide documentary evidence of employment used in career episodes...I don't have evidence of one of my IT's I'll like to use, should I ignore this one or its something they can waive? I'm really sorry about my incessant questions but I really need to get this right. Thanks in advance.
NNBB2012:
I will advise you to stick to Petroleum Engineer and write your cdr on experience gained during your IT or any related to Petroleum Engineering so that you can nominate Petroleum Engineer. Be aware that your 1.5yrs experience in Chemical Engineering will not fetch you any point. Just avoid complication otherwise you might be given Engineering Technologist. They are two different occupations.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 6:48am On Mar 08, 2016
Thx for ur response. I have less than 3 yrs...about 1.5 yrs. I studied petroleum engineering in my undergrad so I dont have chemical engineering projects during undergrad. So me using my chemical (precisely process) engineering projects during my post sch experience will cause complication/mismatch of duties when I nominate chemical engineer?
Sorry for asking again I just wanna be really sure when I nominate. Thanks so much.
NNBB2012:
How years of experience do you have? If you have less than 3yrs in Chemical, I would suggest you should just base your CDR on Chemical engineering projects you did during your undergraduate years so as to avoid complication/mismatch of duties and just nominate chemical engineer.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by chuckdee13(m): 2:39pm On Mar 07, 2016
NNBB2012 and other EA gurus

On second thoughts I think my question might benefit someone else here. I studied petroleum engineering and I have experience in chemical engineering. So in my CDR, my career episodes will be predominantly chemical engineering (ie one for petroleum and two for chemical). Please which occupation should I nominate in order to get a positive assessment from Engineers Australia?

Thx for ur response
