charlesemeka85:
Emmanuel Amuneke may be a popular choice to be named the next Super Eagles coach, but a top official has told SCORENigeria that several factors may work against him including what happened in his last stint with the national team.

It was alleged that the former FC Barcelona winger worked in cross purposes with Augustine Eguavoen when he was drafted to the Super Eagles to assist for Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

“Rather than help Eguavoen, he practically sabotaged him and as they say, the rest is history as Nigeria failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar,” the top official told SCORENigeria

“Those who will decide his fate were very much part of the system even then and they have not forgotten.”

Those who support Amuneke as the next Super Eagles coach have also advanced the argument that he will bring out the best of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze, two players who he first gave their international breakthroughs at U17 level.

“Who says Osimhen and Chukwueze still want to work with Amuneke?” the official asked.

“A lot of things have happened between the time they played for him in the Golden Eaglets and now when they are grown men.”

It would also be recalled that the former Tanzania coach was embroiled in controversy over the dominance of fellow Igbo players in his team when he led Nigeria to win a record fifth U17 World Cup in Chile in 2015.

A section of the media even dubbed the Golden Eaglets under his watch then as “Biafra FC”.
total nonsense. Anything to discredit the man. Sabotage how?

Him Dey mad. He has the guts to do that because Finidi is a Blackman abi. He dare not try such nonsense with a white coach. You see how psychologically black man is under the heel of the white man. They will respect white man and disrespect black man.

Sadiq wey be like draw soup. I don't even regard him as SE material.
don't mind the guy. Very stupid behaviour.

Nigeria is filled with very sentimental humans. The truth is that, we currently do not have a local coach that understands anything about Football tactics. They don't even know how to switch from one formation to another while the match is ongoing.

Funny as it may, some humans will come for you for being blunt and honest, just to suit their narratives.

For Finidi not to have played Nathan Tella, one of the hottest players in Bayer Leverkusen, shows how Biased he his to some players. But this same Finidi was happy to play a Tanzanian-based player. That means, if he was given the opportunity to invite players, he wouldn't have invited Tella, and even Lookman.
as good as this sounds, it is not confirmed however I still feel tactical ineptitude or not understanding how to use these players or being overwhelmed by the response of the Malian coach tactics so he decided to stick with personnel that he feels can grind out results for him. I don't see why any coach will be biased towards a player that can save his job though I will still blame him for some decision . Let's stop all these hasty generalisation.that is some bottom level childish behaviour from Sadiq and he should be careful this doesn't follow him going forward. I see a proud player. Baba no be even Messi. Very nauseating character.

grin

....coz we lost to Mali, we shouldn't give Finidi a shot? LOL!

I guess its Finidi that made both Simon and Dessers missed one on one?!

We should read and look beyond the loss, cos Lessons are there to learn and see. Awaziem, Omeruo need replacement, major reasons they weren't trusted by JPes at AFCON were so glaring last Night.

We blamed JPes for playing half fit Aina in the final, but last 2 friendlies have vindicated him that as far as Osayi is the one on the Bench, Aina must play.

Collins' time is over. He made us miss Sanusi whether we admit it or not. In short, fringe players at the back must be replaced - ALL!

Iwobi played well, Iheanacho linked well. Ndidi and Onyedika didn't perform beyond average. Simon wasn't it until he was subbed. Dessers justified why he didn't make AFCON List.

Dele-Bashiru, Tella and co will get their chances too.
well written. Finidi has a sound knowledge of the game. I don't think it's logical him taking the job in as much as I like the way his team builds up and passes though the personal employed failed him. Reason being that he has been with this team and was able to tweak the formation based on the deficiencies he noticed during AFCON. however football is dynamic, his tactical response in changing the pattern when his tactics is not working is poor. It was evident in Ghana game (after Redcard) and also when Mali coach made some tactical switch to accommodate our flanks. This is only reason I want another coach. Two games is enough to see how fast a coach response to tactical switches from opponent even in the setting of finally losing the game. i didn't see that infact Ghana pressed us more with 10men and it says alot about their coach besides finidi even had players to substitute🙄. At least nff Don show am love. Meanwhile without sentiment, Egbo looks good for the job. Though I for like see wetin amunike go bring even if na one game😅😅.

I don't really understand how we watch football. The only thing that is making us not winning this game is the personnel. A nigeria team possessing the ball is phenomenal. I love the way the guys play though some players didn't help with the set up. Besides this is a friendly match. Finidi is sound.

First leg someone almost times two of that boys age was bullied by osimhen just before his goal. Against real madrid shebi rudiger held hlm down well both home and away? Sometimes we just have to know things won't go the way we want it plus he also has to leave Napoli since he looks to have outgrown them.
fair point. My issue is people making it look like the boy was extraordinary. The man marking was a team work. Besides osihmen tried creating spaces and runs which napoli players failed to pick early. You cant have a striker like that and your midfield is overpowered without finding way to pick his runs. This will indirectly relax the high line Barca was creating to choke napoli's midfield ball movements. On a good day the boy no be osihmen mate. Napoli no see ball play yesterday and they were making costly errors. Osimhen has his faults no doubt but making that small boy look extra fantastic is very sentimental and belittles the team work of other defenders.

Who is hyping Barca self ,did anyone tell you that they will even win the ucl that you are calling it hype ? Lol ,Barcelona current Spanish champions na hype but Napoli current Italian champions na normal thing grin

Victor osimhen bullied inigo Martinez at the Naples and scored and everyone was happy ,small 17 year old boy stood his ground against him and you begin cry grin
keep dreaming. The small boy tried but doesn't deserve this hype. He is not osimhen mate. That was a primary /basic defending he did. Small nyash dey shake. No worry next stage go clear. All these are just fanatic sentiments. Na una go still pursue the guy commot for his defensive duties when the chips are down.

Oga marjori,Victor Osimhen scored four goals in Afcon and three goals were ruled offsides….talking about this should not be seen as criticism but rather an attempt to make him more efficient.
point well noted, mind you one of the goals was cancelled not because of offside. Besides the midfielders in napoli are pathetic, several times, releasing the ball becomes a day job. They dance around the ball without any output. The worst of it all is the nonsense captain Di lorenzo, that guy na confirm olodo.

When we talk now they will come for us and call us "tribalistic" etc, but a system built on nepotism and "man know man" can never thrive. The U17 team Nduka Ugbade selected had some really technically gifted players like Light Eke etc, a team that was balanced among all ethnic groups even though the Southern players (Igbos, Yorubas etc) were clearly head and shoulders above their Northern counterparts in that team.

Now we are seeing a case where Ladan Bosso packed his Northern brothers into the U20 team just to pander to some quota system that has led us no where in Nigeria. The truth hurts but Northerners aren't built for technical sports in Nigeria, that's a sector Southerners especially Igbos, Yorubas, and South South (Delta/Edo axis) mostly dominate. I knew this team will be rubbish right from the squad list. We're really wasting our time in this country honestly.
nff will still give him contract for the next edition. Naija my country.

VO is VO Every player will have his unique attributes and sometimes singular QUALITY.

There is no player I have seen like VO , he plays football ⚽ like a man possessed, he is filled with a blind all consuming rage to win to succeed. He is relentless focused and with blistering pace he is a killer striker. There is nobody like him in the world 🌍 IMO. These attributes cannot be coached, he jumps higher than most, he refuses to be beaten. Life has made him like this not coaching.

Its possible to overcome a stronger and more skillful opponents just with sheer obsessive determination. That for me is VO.

He needs a team to make him the center point of all action. He is not a players filled with trickery, deft touches, finesse, and skill. Like say Benzema and or say Ronaldo.

Will PSG with their collection of world stars look up to VO and play for him . They did not do it for Messi, then they will certainly not do it for VO.

Go and get a bottle of coke 🍾with a smile , you are getting agitated and all fired up with rage 😡😡.

But why 🤔

It really depends on what unit of measurement will you use to decide world class. For me it's one word CONSISTENCY over time.

When I say Kane, Lewondoski, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Haaland, Salah, Messi, Lukaku, are WORLD 🌎 CLASS what you will notice is CONSISTENCY. These players have been at the top of the goal scoring charts for some over a decade.

VO is an absolute excellent player in what he does with a unique skill set. However, last season 2022/23 after three seasons in Seria A he was the golden boot winner. He did not do that in the Belgium, Bundesliga and French league one.

Now that he has achieved this outstanding accolade the real test is to do it again or at least stay in the top 5. To prove the consistency of world class top quality,it has to be done , in this season and the coming seasons.

Without prejudice I would not call him world 🌎 class yet. He is getting there but has not arrived. Unfortunately this season if he can get to the top 5 that would be outstanding to prove he is truly world class.

Would you call call Martinez, Dusan Vlahovic, Giroud world class ❓
for you mental health avoid this guy. This is not normal any longer. This has been his pattern for years.

There's no criteria you will use in any shape or form that will place Fulham ahead of Porto . Its only your bias and prejudice that would place Fulham ahead of Porto..
Outside of the big 5 European teams, Porto are one of the best in Europe alongside Ajax...
Porto is the club where the big boys go to sign players... Fulham aren't a big team... Many players have left Porto and signed for clubs bigger than Fulham
why are you wasting your time? You truly have energy to engage. Someone placing fulham above Porto tells you alot about his thought process. It's a trademark for years. Jump and pass his comments for your mental health . I won't be surprised if the guy is typing all these from one slum.

In all, this team achieved very well. We just need to build on the positive. Midfielders is the key. Phase out some players and start the rebuild. It was just not their day. First the ref really didn't protect the playerss example that interception of Zaidu by kessie was suppose to be given a card. Even peserio was frustrated with the officiating. Even the one they gave to grandel against Zaidu was not suppose to be give as foul. . Though these are not excuses, but they are minute factors that creates fear in players not taking that decision knowing that the ref is not in their favour. I heard caf changed the ref that was supposed to officiate the match. A lot of factors were against our guys. In all it was a good outing.
