In addition to what siena has said, by default every car owner should cross-check between two cars their MPG(miles per gallon)...... If you see an online review of a I4 car that uses 22mpg and a v6 uses 21mpg...Technically, it means that I4 will consume more fuel. So its important for car-users to know how much kilometres/metres they can go with "so-so" amount of petrol. So when the figures (mpg) starts going higher, you'll know something is wrong....here is a pic extract

You see what I'v always told pple....sometimes no matter the effort put by government to improve infrastructure there will still be some "riff-raffs" that will sabotage those developments. From stealing nepa cables, to pipeline vandalism and now this......Nigerias make una agree on One Common Goal, One common societal values & etiquettes na, haba! |
If any of you have been to the convenant university, you will see that the fees is justified. Very very neat environment, well dressed student. Infact you'll fall in love with the appearance and the atmosphere.....Not forgetting that there are some universities that charge more for their services yet none are in the top10 best 9ja varsity. Convenant has broken into the top5 best schools in 9ja and is steady climbing to be No1.......800,000 is not too much to pay annually for your childs tuition, as of 2006 my secondary school fees was arnd 420,000 annually and I could boast of our school having the best facilities.....pray that God should bless you to afford the best for your kids. The person wey dey send I'm pikin go abroad no get two heads....You don't need to be in the upper class to afford such fees....young boiz even in alaba and computer village are making 300,000 monthly, how much more the seasoned trade. #pray for wisdom |
ernie4life:Fixed deposit with no witholding tax, shey banks dey do charity work ni?.....don't flatter yourself bro, I'v proven to you that T.bills beats FD every single time. Meanwhile no bank can give u 7%, except you have like 500m to invest, then they might consider. If yu know of anybank offering 7% without Tax, mention it here & I'll prove otherwise |
Short term T.bills vs Short term Fixed deposit *************************************** SHORT TERM T.BILLS FOR 91days @ 5.99% Invested 1milllion naira @ 91days for 5.99% Discounted payment = 940,100 To get true yield= 1m-940,100/940,100 * 100 = 59,900/940,100 * 100 ; = 6.37% True yield = 6.37% Your interest would be 1m * 6.37% = #63,716(per annum) To get 90days #63,716/365days (to get for 1day) = #174.65naira(per day) 90days = 174.65 *90 = #15,893naira **************************************** SHORT TERM F.DEPOSIT FOR 91days @ 6.5% Invested 1million naira @ 91days @ 6.5% 1m *6.5%; = 65,000 Interest = 65,000(per annum) 10% witholding tax, ie 6500 Thus Main Interest(net profit)= 65,000- 6500 = 58,500naira (remember this is per annum) To get for 90days, calculate it like I did above & Yur interest wud be = #14,584naira **************************************** DEDUCTIONS As you can see, even a 5.99% T.bills discounted rate pays you better than a 6.5% f.deposit @ same 91days. So for those arguing(ernie 4 life) saying f.deposit is better simply because you heard a higher rate, there you have it. # #NB: 6.5% is the highest rate for f.deposits for now and very rare to get!! |
Emmahunk:Both Ghana are Nigeria are under ecowas and same time Nigeria is among the African union member states. This is why it has caused a frenzy because such directive isn't in tandem with the rules of creating ecowas that permits the freedom of movt amongst ecowas member states......His words were directed to the countries in African Union, and Nigeria is in the African Union. So it does affect us by that statement. Up until july, we shall then know whatsap! It would be foolish to quickly assume ecowas states would be exempted. Only an official statement can prove otherwise |
Uchefrancis16:198.5 try sef, if u try money gram/ wester union. Na 193.83 ooo...scammers dem be. |
Who dey talk say bank dey source dollars from black market. All the expatriate in nigerians who earn in foreigh currency, no be bank dem go use send money go their country? All the dollars & pounds wey nigerians in diaspora dey send, no be thru banks them go dey use ![]() Banks will collect your dollars @ 193 but sell for you @ 320, and u dey defend them say na becoz na blackmarket dem dey buy from? Yu need cane!!!

iamord:No I'm not aware of that simply because I don't know of any african who comes to nigeria & obtain a resident permit. Moreso, an ecowas member country, its unheard of.....and I said its xenophobia in disguise because seeing how nigerians are gradually flooding their country, the only legal way to restrict the flow is to issue visa (make money thrru it)....rather than be violent like the southafricans, they decided to be more diplomatic bout it. |
[quote author=iamord post=44315940]like seriously. I don't understand why with the advent of media, to keep you informed you still choose to be ignorant. What Is xenophobia about this?? Are you not aware that ever legal alien in Nigeria requires a resident permit.? And it has nothing to do with xenophobia even when you are under ecowas? BTW Your media are fond of twisting stories [/quote No I'm not aware of that simply because I don't know of any african who comes to nigeria & obtain a resident permit. |
Chubhie:Sure esp from those seeking to study in their universities |
Over 25countries & counting...... Its been reported that it costs mr president and his entourage atleast $500,000 per travel. Let's do the math $500,000 * 25 = $12,500,000 ATLEAST 12.5million dollars spent by Mr president, after cbn will say its school fees that's been the reason behind our falling foreign reserve. Okay ooo Continuuu. |
Chubhie:For the doubting thomases, here is another link on Silverbird website. www.silverbirdtv.com/politics/11791-nigerians-others-must-obtain-visa-enter-ghana-july-mahama |
The crazy thing is for some time now, nigerians are forced to get resident permits to stay a shortwhile @ ghana despite the fact we are under ECOWAS. I ddont see how this will foster unity betweenm both countries coz one is about to exploit the other. Shey 9ja dey issue visa to ghanians? Maybe they scared of nigerians increasing population....xenophobia in disguise |
Mskrisx:The toori don set oh. Berra prep ur mind if you plan to "hit" ghana from july #visa thangz |
thesicilian:Lool, not atallz. The link is there for verification. |
From July, Nigerians Will Need Visa To Enter Ghana Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama has said that citizens from Nigeria and other African countries must apply for visas before allowed entry into Ghana.www.nairametrics.com/ghanaian-president-says-nigerians-others-must-obtain-visa-to-enter-ghana-from-july/ |

Halimi24:You are simply pathetic. What has she achieved in life? And you are? Her parent This lady could a fresh graduate or just started life working in a firm. And your basis of ranking ones acheievement is that it should be on the soccial media. Will you ccall your father or mother a failure simply because we haven't read anything about them online Is this how you reason miss halima? I swear women are their own worst enemies. When we men taunt y'all now, yu'll be shouting gender equality. Whereas you can't even stand up for your fellow female. Shame! |
ireneony:All this one you dey yarn na okpata. When I was in school, girls would be drooling over very handsome boys but overtime they grew older. Now that some of them are married, their choice of husbands is totally different from what they seeked for in a man. All their husbands got one thing in common, which I believe made them attractive which is MONEY!!! Coz that fine face wudnt pay the bills. Dey there dey find model like husbands wey go come marry you ooo.... |
Paentera:Do you just want to quote me or what? Where did I write february bill I said the light bill of february I PAID THIS MONTH(being march). Na wa o, take time to read bruh b4 quoting me. I paid for what I consumed in feb this march and fixed charge exists. My camera isn't so sharp, I'd have snapped it & uploaded it fr you to see |
AreaFada2:Thanks for the insight on rice production in 9ja. What measures can be put inplace to curb those challenges for local farmers. Because Big farm owners with mechanized strategy wouldn't really worry about some of the challenges you'v mentioned. And still they wouldn't bring down price. Coz in naija once a price of a popular commodity goes up, it barely ever comes down! |
mulattoclaro:Baba you smoke shumtin today? You expect the likes of avb, mourinho and the likes to come and coach Nigeria? Nigeria cannot , I repeat CANNOT hire such high profile coaches. We no get dat kain money. 4million wey be keshi monthly salary, yet dem no dey pay am. |
The funy thing is, a plate of Ofada rice and stew cost more than a plate of imported rice & stew. Despite the fact ofada rice is home grown, yet it costs more. Greed is a hidden cause of Inflation says chukzyfcb. |
Pipeline Vandalism, is one of our biggest undoing in the power sector. Prof Barth Nnaji(fmr minister of power) complained bitterly about this. When pipes are vandalised, UNDER WATER WIELDING will be the corrective measure. And this is a very expensive part of wielding. Imagine how difficult it is to dive in a lagoon or big pool of water just to wield a broken pipeline, u think say na beans Na money oOkonjo iweala has said what we need is a social contract to agree on certain norms & values. Because no matter how much is invested in power, some unscrupulous pple will go and steal power cables. No matter how much govt invests in the Oil & gas sector, pple will go & vandalism pipeline. WE NEED TO AGREE ON CERTAIN NORMS & VALUES LIKE OKONJO IWEALA HAS ADVISED!!! |
