CareerRe: Why You Need To Find A 2nd Source Of Income After Your Salary by chukzyfcbb:
This is what I want to say, according to Robert Kiyosaki in the cash flow quadrant.

there are 4 sets of people
E- employed
S - Self employed (business that needs your attention actively to survive)
B - Business owner (business that has developed a model that can stand on its own even without your presence)
I - Investor

The E and
S are in the left quadrant, these guys are the ones struggling daily to met up

The B and
I are where the big boys are, that's where you can earn financial freedom.
so he tells people to try and switch into the B or I sector if you must live a stress free live

Now what am I driving at,
Yes you may earn 60,000naira as a employee, try to have a footing into the Investor quadrant, where you invest into something and it reaps fruit for you.

Most importantly, invest in yourself. I have a friend who was working for 10years, he didn't improve himself, no additional professional training or certificate until he got sacked and reality dawned on him.

Nobody can take away Investment in yourself, advance in yourself take up training, attend seminar, get more professional certfs/skills and
Your 60K salary will be a thing of the past. Then you can use your expertise to start up a business that can stand on itself rendering services not the garbage OP is advising (sell pants or bra or this or that)

A doctor can be an employee with a govt hospitals same time acting as a consultant, also has his own hospital (Business owner) and Invest money in properties (Investor). He has legs in all quadrants.

Don't be in a hurry to take your salary and start opening a shop for the sake of second income. First Invest in yourself, Your shop can be taken away by the Govt, or Duped by fraudsters but the Investment you make in yourself will last forever!

Some are just unlucky due to the way they dress(dreads, tattoos). I can't count the number of times I have been stopped in Festac, its numerous!

Getting stopped by police men is now a usual occurrence, so to be safe as a young guy here, remove all forms of exhibit in your phone when you are bout going out. smiley

he will do well, he almost stole the league from juventus. It was a fight to the finish unlike previous years where juventus would have secured the trophy way early.

however I think conte should be given a chance, the average lifespan of coaches 2-3yrs in the EPL has got to be stopped. it hurts the team a lot, as they will need to be readjusting to several tactics

op you try but e still remain small make u make sense.

how much power does it take to fully charge a car, in Lagos here we are charged an average of 24naira per kilowatt.

if an electric car, uses 1000kilowatt for full charge, it means it will cost us 24,000naira for a full charge.

I don't get it, data tariff was increased just last year. I remember Mtn used to be 2gig for 1000naira, now its 1gig + 500mb(night only).

Even GLO had 3.5gig or so for 1k, but that's non existent now.

So they waited for people to get accustomed to the new price for several months, indirectly forcing them to forget about the former price so they can hike it again, wicked lots!
EducationRe: What Is The Best Course To Study As A Science Student.? by chukzyfcbb: 8:22am On May 23, 2018
computer science, computer engineering, information technology, anything ICT is where the money at and will be in future.

Look around you, everything is becoming digitized, life is becoming less stressful. Who are those responsible for this? Ans; IT GUYS

Go fr those courses I mentioned above and have added IT skills you will pick up from your semester break.

BUT then, I will never advise someone to study a course simply for financial gain. You will never unleash your true potential if you do so.

Some people are just master sales person, they can sell anything to anybody even if the customer is an Eskimo, yet they are forced to read medicine/Engr.

Find your strength and go for it. Go for added skills/ Professional certfs during the semester break (one mistake under graduates never pay attention to)

Your madness and illiteracy is worse than I thought!!!
Sanusi said what? When? Sanusi is now government policy? You're a certified bastard! If I had a gun I would shoot you for the fun of it. People like you should be shot dead for aggressive and violent ignorance. No matter how hard anyone tries to cure your ignorance, you're still aggressive and dogmatic about it! Ode!
Fool that thinks it was the government increased fuel price, or food prices! Bloody idiot!
Fool let me lecture you:
Our debt to gdp ratio is significantly low. At 23%, we're only mobilizing very little debt in funding our budget and vital projects. We can borrow more to build more, that's the meaning. A debt to GDP of 40% is the maximum threshold that international financial institutions advise.
Our total debt is 21trillion consisting of 73% local or naira debt and the remaining in dollars. The dollar component can be easily offset as we have enough in our dollar accounts with rising oil price and soaring reserves. That is not a concern. Infact we can take on more dollar debt seeing as we have more than enough capacity to repay. Its the local component of the debt that is of concern. Our Revenue to GDP ratio is very low at 6%. Means we're not generating enough government revenue from our production. How do we correct this? By increasing the revenue we can get from the producing segments of our production. Through taxes! Increasing the revenue drive from taxation. The FG is aggressively pursuing this with VAIDS and a revamped FIRS. With increasing tax receipts, we will be spending less and less on offsetting our local obligations. Its very simple!
Plus Mr illiterate, the government didn't increase fuel price! The government placed a cap on the price of fuel at N145. That was when all importers were allowed to bring in the product. They had a choice to still sell at that N87 cap that the criminal Jonathan government set. They didn't. When the price of oil increased in the international market, they all withdrew from importing, leaving the NNPC as the sole importer.
Please Mr idiot, try to read more and enlighten yourself. The government is not responsible for your poverty and hunger! Its you!!! Don't blame anyone if your life is miserable and sad. Its all your fault!!!
I won't reply you again because its obvious you are short sighted. If you cannot see how the govt increased fuel price/food prices indirectly then you are dull.

Keep dribbling around the subject be quoting debt to GDP or Revenue to GDP, You have refused to talk about Debt : Revenue ratio. Continue dribbling oh, I won't answer you again. Keep up with your foolery

This is the biggest fool on this forum! We are spending how much to offset our debt repayment which is mostly in naira? So what do we do to generate more naira to reduce pressure of Naira debt repayment? Fool like you! You just want to appear smart when you're not even making any sensible point! Saying the government should capture the high and mighty in their tax net, then pray tell, what is VAIDS all about?
Fool!!!!
Any FYI Mr idiot, Nigeria's GDP is not negative! our current GDP growth is 1.95%. Inflation has been dropping for 15 consecutive months from around 18% to 12.4% last month.
Idiots and illiterates own this forum. It's almost helpless!
You are actually the fool.

Your country spends 66% of her revenue repaying debts and you are talking sh.it. If you need statistics go to google or ask and I will provide them.

Imagine spending 66% of your salary repaying your debtors, also sanusi has stated in the past that the borrowing margins are far larger than what is stipulated in the law (CBN act or so)

You must be in the govt, those seeking the heads of masses on a plate to slaughter, The write up talks about increasing VAT and in your rational state you think this is the only way to increase revenue. You are a true dumbo.

All they know is increase increase, from fuel price to exchange rate to food items to power to car imports etc, That's all they know.

Coming from a handed GDP growth of 6% to now 1%+ is what you are harping about, you foolishly didn't think a country on its growth to recovery after coming from a time of recession ; that Increasing the tax rates wouldn't be the wisest thing to do, but foolish you thinks that's the way to go.

If I may ask, what exactly can you point out that 12trillion naira has been used for? What exactly.

When Bill gates came here and told Nigeria that Investing in her people was the way to go, you didn't see sense in that huh? You want to milk the people but not make them fat enough to get enough milk?

So govt cannot improve infrastructure , improve the standard of living, create employment, reduce manufacturing cost factors before thinking of increasing taxes to raise revenue?

I repeat you must be in the GOVT! Only blood suckers in Govt think the way you do.

Our budget is running at a surplus yet borrowing is astronomically high, but you still justify it citing revenue to GDP ratio. Its truly your opaque mind that IMF was trying to address.

My disdain for IMF is Historical in nature..,IMF has been exploiting third world countries by concentrating them in a stagnant economic situations,;hence, luring them to seek for loans.
The interest rates incurred on loans by IMF from third world countries,is extremely high and exorbitant.
IMF loans should be a concessional loan and not profit oriented....this is pitiful because you will have to pay even higher at the Maturity date after the devaluation of your country's currency.
In Reference to the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
This isn't true. IMF are one of the cheapest place to borrow loans from, moreso Nigeria has been refocusing its loans from domestic to foreign because its more expensive to borrow in our local currency.

Just say you hate them because Investors like you in treasury bills thread will have rates further reduced, because of the GOVTs change in interest lol smiley

SBG04:
You're a bloody fool judging from this response! You don't know anything, and I'm trying to cure your illiteracy here. Instead of analysing more and using your brain, you're still hell bent on your foolishness.
Our entire debt is 21trillion.
70% of this is domestic which means it can be offset with naira. How do you offset your naira debt? By increasing your naira revenue! How do you increase your Naira revenue? By ramping up naira revenue generation through tax. That's why the FG is aggressively pursuing VAIDS and that's why the FIRS has become more aggressive with tax remmittance. FIRS revenues for q1 increased from double digits yoy. The IMF spokesperson alluded to that in the report. Nigeria is actually ramping up naira revenue generation so we can safely offset our domestic debt. Mind you the domestic portion of the debt is not money that the government actually borrowed from lenders. It's debt from government securities such as tbills and bonds.
Please endeavour to read and understand issues before dropping comments and spreading your ignorance and illiteracy. Makes you sound like an idiot which I'm sure you are.
Just look at the rubbish spewing out of your mind. Its your type of stubbornness that IMF is still trying to address. Nigeria's Govt are focused on their Revenue to GDP ratio, boasting and shouting of how low it is forgetting that their Interest payment to Revenue is frigging high.

Nigeria spends 2/3 of her revenue repaying debts, does that make sense to you? And the only reasonable thing you could think of is that, they have tax at their mercy.

Despite all the increased hardship, the increased prices and skyrocketed inflation , or a full year of negative GDP (recession)_ you still support the fact that increased TAXes is the only way to increase her revenues, YOU are a disgrace!

So Nigeria can't improve in her capital expenditure? we have borrowed 12trillion in 3yrs yet the capital expenditure is hardly seen. All your lots know is tax tax tax, is it until Nigerians die of hardship that you know you have taxed them enough?

You are screaming that others commenting are illiterates whereas you are the illiterate. Nigeria Govt boasting of her GDP as if she is doing enough to engage the citizens actively to further bolster the GDP size.

For me, the GOVT should capture those high and Mighty wealthy men in their Tax Nets rather that increasing VAT and all that. spending 66% of your revenue on debt payment is pure foolishness!

Salas4oru:
It's a win win situation for us. It means will always put our money in the right places. Trade with the Chinese, vacation and studying in the US and Europe. The over reliance on dollar has cost us too much. Imagine tuition fees reaching #10m just because £ is 500+. But there's another side to this currency swap deal, Nigerians need to do more production. Either unprocessed, semi, or fully processed materials should find their ways to China. The citizens of this country have a role to play
Yea, over dependence on us dollars or pounds has made study abroad very very expensive.

Fully processed materials will hardly find its way to China from Nigeria, they have reduced manufacturing cost to the barest minimum over there at China, we can never compete with them in processed item.

Come to think of it, I don't think China will be trading OIL with Nigeria with this swap deal because OIL is traded with the us dollars, that's how we build our foreign reserves. However, if the swap deal includes China paying for our oil with their currency then that's a good thing :-) Although With Dangote's refinery in sight, that may cut down the Chinese yuan overtime, thus adding more demand pressures on the govt.

whichever way it may seem, getting the dollars at a very cheap price is the best deal, knowing how crazy our govts economic policy can be.

IN CASE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND

I know Most of You don't know the meaning of Nigeria naira/yuan swap with China.. And why American government is desperately smoothing their relationship with Nigeria.

This is a clearer picture of the deal and it's effects on our economy and way of life.

Soon, you may be buying that techno phone you bought at N80,000 for N12, 000 .

The Central Bank of Nigeria have finally signed the currency swap deal we have been expecting for the past 2 years with the Chinese government.

The importance of this is that since almost 70% of the goods we import come from China and Asia and only about a meagre 12% come from America, why must we use Dollars to transact with China?

Thus, with the new deal, instead of using dollars at N350 to 1dollar to import those goods, we can now buy Yuan at 47 naira to 1 Yuan and import those stuffs directly. Therefore, Instead of buying these goods in dollars in China, we will now buy them in Yuan at 5 times cheaper than their dollar rates.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that China is now the highest importer of our crude. This means that our trade with them can be on Naira/Yuan basis.

This is a giant stride that our media needs to disseminate. It's a great achievement by this administration in its effort at repositioning our economy.

Of course, with d new deal, d demand for dollars will nose dive, with an attendant crash in its price.

Try to monitor exchange rate. Some of those guys who hoarded foreign currencies to make gains will off load them in order not to have heart attack over their huge loss arising from the currency swap deal with china.
Dollars and pounds will flood everywhere with no buyers, as the buyers will draw naira from their accounts in banks with presence in China.

Many NIGERIA banks will be seeking to have their representative office in China like first bank who saw to the future and already have office in China.
Inflation will go down drastically because of the price of commodities that will drop......
I want it to happen so that I can amass enough dollars and store in my Dorm account, when the need to go on vacation or study abroad arises, k can then go from the storage acct and take some dollars. In fact I am seriously praying dollar should crash, and people should reject it and swoop in for the Chinese currency. so I can buy it at a very cheap rate smiley
