Christianity EtcRe: Private Jets: CAN Slams Kukah, Bakare by chux76(m): 10:19am On Nov 20, 2012
highlandre: This CAN, I'm sure does not represent the interest of true Nigerian christians. They are a bunch of church leaders whose interest supercedes those of their teeming followers.

I'm a christian and don't think this Association represents me a bit. Or, what is CAN doing to ensure that the astronomical fees charged by most of these church-owned Varsities is reduced to make average christians have access to tertiary education?

Any christian who thinks this current CAN represents his chequered interest should go back to bed and sleep once more. Iranu!
Need I say more? NO!! You have just said it all. We are being bled in the name of Xtianity and we Xtians are ever so blind. Imagine the GRANDIOSE in the Xtian world..amongst the Xtian leaders(Pastors,Prophets,Reverends)...and we think nothing is wrong?? SMH

FamilyRe: At What Point, After Losing A Loved One In Death, Do You Delete Their Number? by chux76(m): 1:13pm On Nov 19, 2012
Sorry to digress from the main thing in discuss, when my dad died years ago in August 2006,he didn't have a phone then because of his illness/condition which later led to his death and also because we couldn't afford one for him b4 his illness,my mum and I were the only ones who had phones in our family then(poverty tinz then but all tnkx 2 God now). But I had a son who died 7 months after he was born in February 2007,it took me almost 3yrs(some time in 2010) to give out his clothing, shoes, toys and other accessories I had packaged in a very large GMG bag. Even when we moved to our new flat,I took his belongings with me,most times I open the bag and bring out some of the shoes and toys and cry myself out. I just made up my mind one day and decided to move on,so I took the bag and gave it to St Vincent de Paul society so they could send it to families that would need it.
It really difficult letting go of memories of loved ones but move on we must. Tears are dropping my eyes even as I type this because the memories of losing two loved ones (My Dad and my 7months old son) in a spate of 6months was just too much for me to bear then...but God knows best sha!! So I'd say it's a personal choice what one choose to do after losing a loved one.

P.S
This might sound crazy, but I still have the nail clippings from my dad's fingernails and toenails in a matchbox tucked somewhere my wardrobe. I was cutting his nails when he died in my arms so I kinda kept them as a reminder of him.Weird isn't it??

BusinessRe: To All Experienced Aliexpress Customer, This Brother Need Your Help. by chux76(m): 9:39am On Nov 19, 2012
El Matteo: My brother..Life itself is a risk and as a business man, you should understand that more. I will advise you start with sth small at least so u can be sure. if u check well, you will c adverts placed by chrisvicmall on nairaland and if you are not convinced enough, you can visit their office in Alaba. I took the risk with them and it paid off and I must say what I loved most about them is their customer service cos they will always call u to update you.
I'm not in anyway affiliated to them but I promised to tell others about them if my transaction went on smoothly and it did.
What's the point of waiting for ur goods for 15 to 60 days all in the name of free shipping when u can get them down here at very subsidized rates.
Yeah, life is a risk but it should be calculated. I expressed the same fear when I wanted to deal with Chrisvicmall, but i thought,"what the heck,no venture no glory"..so I contacted them, gave them the link, paid into their account here in Naija, sent them an email about the payment made and waited. I have done my part, lets see what happens next. Hours later I received an email confirming receipt of my payment and thereafter I laid back. They would call me occasionally giving me the status of my shipment, and when it finally arrived, they notified me and my fiance picked it up at the airport.Suffice it to say that I paid on a Tuesday and by Friday same week the goods had arrived Nigeria, and was picked up on Saturday morning, that was largely because I implored the seller to package the goods swiftly and they did within a day and shipped it to Chrisvicmall company the next day. Although they have shipping options of 7-14days or 3-4days but its your choice which you prefer as the latter is a bit more expensive than the former but much lesser than what the seller advertises as shipping fees using either EMS,DHL or UPS.
So chat up with their sales rep and get more info.
I am paying for another sets of goods this week and its Chrisvicmall all the way.

P.S
I am not soliciting for Chrisvicmall but I have to recommend and vouch for them because I have had satisfactory business deals with them, what with their excellent customer care service.

The above screenshot is either a result of your Avast not being registered or it not been updated yet.
I would like to know the answers to the below:

1. Is it the free or premium version?
2.If it is the free version, have you registered it yet?
3. When was the last time you updated the virus definitions? i.e by updating the anti-virus when connected to the internet?
It could also be that you turned off the Avast protection. Click on the Avast icon on your task bar to see if it is turned on or off

BusinessRe: Users Of ATM Will No Longer Pay N100 On Withdrawals - CBN by chux76(m): 12:57am On Nov 14, 2012
billante: Users of Automated Teller Machines will no longerpay N100 on withdrawals whenever they use banks other than theirs, the Central Bank of Nigeria said on Tuesday.

The decision was taken at the end of a meeting inAbuja between the CBN and the Bankers Committee.

Managing directors of some banks also attended the meeting.

The Group Managing Director, First Bank Plc, Mr. Bisi Onasanya, told newsmen that the charge as well as others associated with the use of ATMs would be scrapped soon.

He said it was meant to encourage the use of ATMs.

Onasanya said the decision would help to increase the patronage of ATMs, thus deepening the financial inclusion strategy of the apex bank.

He said the modalities for the stoppage is being worked out adding that within the shortest time possible, the adjustments would be reflected in all the ATMs.

“When you use the ATM of a bank other than your bank, there is a charge of N100 which is borne by the account holder.

“We have decided that we will work out the modality and ensure that with immediate effect we would pass on this cost to the respective banks which bear the cost of providing services.

“No matter where you are withdrawing your money from, you will not be subjected to any charge for using the ATM,” he explained.

According to him, the new policy does not cover withdrawals inside the banking hall when the ATMs are off.

“But for transaction on what we call ‘not on us,’ when you are an FBN customer and you use the ATM of a GTB bank, it is free and it will no longer bear any cost,” he added.

Business To BusinessAuthenticity Of Chrisvicmall...thumbs Up by chux76(op): 6:00pm On Nov 10, 2012
I was looking for cheaper and faster ways to bring in products from China and I have been skeptical about using some of the suggested means on Nairaland. I decided to try out Chrisvicmall after reading some comments about them, and after seeing their adverts on Nairaland's advert spaces.
I made payments for goods I ordered from China through Chrisvicmall on the 6th of November and by Friday the 9th of November, just 3days after,I got a call from one of the reps that my goods would arrive Nigeria (Friday) in the evening and I could come get it that day or they would call to confirm if I would come the next day being today,Saturday.
I have picked up the products and I will say THUMBS UP to Chrisvicmall for their competency. What excites me more was their customer care, always calling to keep me abreast of the shipment.I will definitely keep doing business with them. More shipping and more deals with Chrisvicmall.
