Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by Chxta(op): 9:21am On Jul 21, 2006
There are no good sides in this conflict, and my point is that the Israelis are being very stupid by pursuing actions that will definitely ensure the continuation of the conflict for another generation.
PoliticsRe: Arabic Words and Letters on Naira Notes by Chxta(m): 9:05am On Jul 21, 2006
Sorry my brother, you are wrong. I once asked an Arab (Sadeeq, he works at Amigos Supermarket in Abuja) to read it, and he told me that that was not Arabic.

Besides read this. . .

And then this thread should convince you that people who talk about our flag or our currency are just being mischievous.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by Chxta(op): 8:56am On Jul 21, 2006
Likewise the construction of the Gaza ghetto.

Nferyn, from some posts you have made before I have come to the conclusion that you are a smart fellow. Stop looking at this conflict from a Western bias. Do you seriously think that there can be peace in the Mideast for another generation following the actions of Israel?

Mariory:
Honestly, why is Nigeria full of ignorant racist paranoid freaks? So we're back to the flag thing again? Attempting to make some Nigerians think more factually is like trying to ice-skate uphill.
You understand everything my brother. . .

The 'Arabic' inscriptions on our naira notes are actually Hausa, not Arabic. Someone explained how they came about earlier in this forum, but since people can't be arsed to go back and read, let me do it again (as a social service):

The words with the Arabic letters on the naira are in the Hausa language and not Arabic at all. The use of Arabic letters in other languages is not new. Farsi, Pashtun, Urdu are among languages that use Arabic letters but are themselves quite unintelligible to an Arab unless he or she is educated in the said languages.

Similarly, your article and mine written in Latin based letters do not qualify for Latin. The words in Arabic letters you find so offensive on the naira, in transliteration, read: naira biyar (five naira), naira goma (ten naira), naira ashirin (twenty naira), etc.

Long before the British colonized our land and introduced their civilization the only medium of learning in the Kanem-Borno and Hausa Fulani civilizations in what is now northern Nigeria was in Arabic alphabets.

. . .actually, I have slept in Police cells in Benin, Onitsha and Warri. Now don't think that I am a career criminal, all those incidents were purely as a result of youthful exuberance.

From an academic point of view though, I think PHCN are the ones who are drawing us back as a nation big time. . .

They may understand somethings, but as Jack Gowon proved as Head of State from 1966 (29 years) to 1975 (38 years), they lack the maturity to handle the position.

Shame you did it all at 26,
I hope you come to terms with boredom,
All they that have made it young would agree

According to this 'ere l'il document, the president must have attained 40 years of age. Which gives me some 14 years to be able to aspire to that exalted position. . .

Bialegend:
Yes Onyebuchi, you prefer Odili to Orji, but will yorubas and hausas even prefer your Odili??. Do you see the case here.
If you like, talk of Anyaoku or even an IGBO person born today without any dent, they still won't see any reason for IGBO to become president of their stinking nigeria. Orji has done well for all Bende communities as a whole and has done more in Umuahia than any former Abia state administrator/governor and this is a fact unless you don't want to say the truth here. Orji is the best Governor of Abia state since Mbakwe of Imo state of which comprises Abia state as at that time. He constructed more roads both in Aba and Umuahia more than any other past governor with the exception of Mbakwe. Mind you this is not my case for him becoming nigeria's president. My own case is, why should the hausas and yorubas set criteria for IGBOS towards becoming nigerias president. Why didn't they do same during the time of their own??.
We can set criteria for anyone of us that wants to rule our IGBO areas, but not for any of us that wants to rule their fishy country called nigeria.
Utter rubbish. Utter, utter rubbish.
PoliticsRe: Odili's Futile Quest For The Presidency by Chxta(m): 2:24pm On Jul 20, 2006
ono:
Erm, those of you pointing accusing fingers at Odili as a failure should know that there are terrible people as governors in other states too.

And you should also know that Odili is not a Niger Deltan. He's an Igbo man, by every standard. He was foisted on Rivers people by the powers that be at Abuja. Well, his time is almost up, and our brothers in Rivers state will heave a sigh of relief when he's gone. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Yes, he is an Igboman from Ndoni in Rivers State. According to the Nigerian constitution that gives him a right to contest for the governorship of Rivers State. Get your facts right.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Presidency by Chxta(m): 2:06pm On Jul 20, 2006
Exactly. Although I kind of disagree with Utomi making a good president on his own (he's not a politician, but a fine businessman), I think with the right advisers he would make an excellent president. And I believe he has the brains to build such an economic team.

One more thing, Utomi being from Delta State may actually be the solution to the Igbo/South-South problem. What says ye?
