Onyedikachi4: Dear Niger-Delta, I am writing this letter to appreciate your loyalty and the love you have for God's own country which is Nigeria. It has been a long time that I know you guys are wise. Please, never join the people around you who are questioning the unity of Nigeria for their selfish Interest and No tangible reasons for doing so. We have already been seeing your beautiful states in their crooked up map they made to keep you under, but the reality Is that nobody understands you and can do you well than the Federal Government which your top politicians are part of them. Even Shakau isn't this foolish.
Those of you supporting them, it's just a matter of time, it will get to you or yours. This one thinks he's smart. What if those "their own people who are working for the government " have killed more of their own people than the fulani herdsmen have ever done in that region?? How many times have you ever heard that an hausa/fulani police/soldier killed someone in the southeast? If those "who are working for the government " have been killing their own people all this while in the name of working for the government, then, logically, their own people can also kill them in revenge. Nobody knows who has been doing the killings, but it looks like a repayment for all the evils they've been doing in the region over the years. |

On my way home, the driver called that I should tell the contractor to allow him enter the company but due to their policy, he had to wait for order. The driver became impatient and left with d load while d contractor was looking for another truck to offload d goods with. He was already IN Ogere before Shagamu when the contractor was contacted. I went to Ogere on Saturday after waiting on Friday thinking he will come back to offload. All the while, the driver's phone was switched off. We confirmed with the Truck Union chairman in Ogere that he came to report but left because he couldn't abide by the rules he was given. To cut the long story short, he called on Monday to tell us the location of the goods but they were already wet because of the rain there can't be supplied. Meanwhile, we were able to track d vehicle number with Road safety on Saturday but the man whose information appeared denied of ever owing a truck. I only have the Truck number and the driver's number. Please, what should I do because I'm already confused and depressed. The driver's action led to the me losing another supply on Saturday because I don't have money to haul the goods. The goods meant for Saturday supply too are wet. I'm already in debt and been threatened. Please advise me.

MarketMentors: Dear Sir,
I am writing to you as a concerned Nigerian and an Easterner to quickly dissolve the Eastern security network (ESN) following the order from the President to all security personnel to shoot at sight anyone caught with an AK 47 rifle.
I understand Sir that your intention for forming the ESN is very noble following the recent invasion of the monstrous Killer Fulanis herdsmen who have taken over the Eastern forests and have been killing, kidnapping, maiming, and raping our people. But you need to call back your boys to lay down their weapons for now. I know your boys will surely listen to your voice or reason.
You will agree with me that the security atmosphere in the country is very tense and politized as well. The fight against the killer Fulanis herdsmen isn’t holistic but one-sided. The fight against the bandits is still nothing to write home about especially following the way bandits are being paid to release their abductees across states like Kaduna, Niger, and Zamfara states.
You will also agree with me that the order to shoot anyone caught with an AK 47 inside the bushes is mainly targeted at wiping off the ESN. So you need to apply caution and wisdom in this situation. Kindly dissolve the ESN and lay low for now to avoid casualties which will likely be innocent civilians.
We all saw the military invasion in Orlu in Imo state and how it all went down. Let’s not allow them to kill us this time with the order to shoot at sight anyone caught with an AK 47 rifle.
You need to understand that the ESN isn’t all that equipped to fight the well-sophisticated Nigeria Army. There comes a time in one’s life that he or she has to succumb not out of fear or cowardice but in a way to go back to the drawing board and restrategize to come back stronger and better.

As a medical student, i used to go back alone to the anatomy dissection room(with over 30 cadavers) after the normal dissecting session, and i never saw any of the cadavers move, including the ones we tore into pieces via dissection. Why were they not angry with us, if they had any of such powers being attributed to them? And because of these kind of crazy stories and beliefs by Nigerians, i have always tried to go back alone to the room where i keep any demised patient before they're moved to the mortuary, just to see them move, yet i haven't seen any. And no medical professionals working anywhere has such weird experience from their dead patients. Why's it only when they go to the mortuary they start acting? The truth is that most of those morticians are traditionalists and poorly educated guys, who already have those beliefs picked up in their villages even before taking up the jobs. I can't even imagine knocking for a dead patient i just confirmed dead. That would be very funny. Maybe, I'll have to spend a full night in the mortuary one of these days to partake in these special experience they've been enjoying alone. |

Henrodah: I remember when I lost my dad in the 90s , and we took him to Benin city(den of principalities then) And it was time for my mum to bath naked in a stream by 1am in the night. The elders (Odionwere) told me to keep my eyes shut and cover my ears, that its time for the spirits to roam. I was barely 10years old and I grew up in the north and a Christian home, so these events sounded strange to me, but what struck me to this very moment as an adult, was when the elders that were allowed to not close their eyes , started talking about what they saw( mind you they didn't know I could understand Bini wella) , they said they saw a woman with one leg, and her baby on her back hopping, also they saw my dad and he told them who was responsible for his illness that led to his death and other things a 10year old shouldn't have heard . My point is this world is more spiritual than even physical. For those that feel western corpse don't disturb, try and see this movie 'Autopsy of Jane doe' its a movie but it changed my mindset about oyinbo dead bodies. And you wholeheartedly believed the trash?? You guys should spare yourselves of these destructive thoughts and superstitions. Why is it that those of us who don't believe in these things don't experience it?? |

So people had better make provisions for eventualities. Why would anyone spend money and time acquiring a visa to go to a poverty-stricken, hell-hot, arid, dry, and terror-infested 'country'?? Have you ever applied for a visa to Afghanistan or Somalia? If they give you for free, will you accept?? Even at this moment, without visas, i still wonder why a living southerner, with all his senses intact, will choose to live in such a place. |

Sharmeenator: If you have dollars in a domiciliary account in Nigeria, Are they affected by the bank exchange rate? Do you get the exact amount in Dollars if you opt to withdraw or the fund is converted to Naira at the point of withdrawal? With the new CBN directive, you or your relatives can now withdraw the exact amount in dollars you have in your dollar domicillary account. Before now, this was one of the ways the Nigerian banks were stealing from Nigerians in diaspora, by handing out naira to our relatives/friends at their own ridiculously low rate whenever dollar was sent to their accounts. We were literally working for and sending dollars to these crooked banks for free. And when you look at the billions of diaspora money sent per annum via these banks, you'll begin to realise how much profits they were making from that. You can now withdraw and change at a better rate in the parallel/black market. Their dividend investors will soon start crying when they realise that this pathway of stealing has been taken away. |

QuotaSystem: Dangote's refinery will definitely be a game changer for the Nigerian economy.
What a genius strategy. Imagine a scenario where other African countries would be looking for Nigerian Naira in order to purchase Nigerian Petroleum Products. It would increase the organic demand for our currency thereby boosting its value significantly.
This does not make sense. There is no way Dangote's petrol would be more expensive because not only has the issue of landing cost been eliminated since we're no longer importing, but the market has also been deregulated (which is why we suffer price hikes whenever price of crude or USD rises).
You're right about elimination of subsidy which will save us significant amounts of money, but even greater benefits would come from saving millions of USD daily that would have been wasted to import refined petrol (a whopping 41% of our forex saved); further boosting our foreign reserves and the value of the Naira. The multiplier benefits from job creation and development of allied industries to support the refinery and petrochemical plant are better imagined.
Finally, the disgraceful economic anomaly wherein the 6th largest oil producer in the world is one of the biggest importers of petrol from less endowed countries, and continuously suffers whenever crude prices rise instead of enjoying the largesse like fellow oil producers, will finally come to an end thanks to Dangote's refinery. I wish him the best and I'm excited for Nigeria. That's how you guys in the south usually start: with utmost degree of gullibility. But with time, when the damage is already done, e go begin clear for una eye, just like those who vigorously campaigned and voted for Buhari. |

afroxyz: But the reality is in a struggling exonomy interest rates are bound to be high. Then come add naija matter join That then could explain why such economies continue to go further down or remain along that path of underdevelopment. Governments alone do not develop economies. Their primary role is to provide the enabling environment and the necessary regulations for businesses to thrive. Individuals(entrepreneurs and businessmen) and private/cooperate institutions play a bigger role in deciding the direction of the economy. And in most cases, they need credit facilities from the banks/financial institutions. In a country like Nigeria, where the interest rates are ridiculously high, we all can see the effects today. Just compare the number of private companies registered on the floor of NSE with that of the NYSE. The difference is very clear. |
