Abagworo:

Remove Akpabio from list of performers. Everyone knows everything he did from stadium to roads and hotels. They are little compared with the money he got. Only Amaechi did outstandingly well among the super rich oil States.
I strongly believe that its either you have not been to Akwa ibom recently or you are biased.I am not from Akwa ibom but i was shocked by what i saw on ground 2 weeks ago when i went to Uyo.
For us to move as a nation,we need to praise performance and condemn non performance irrespective of our political affiliations

Romance / Re: Ladies Can You Marry A Man Who Drives An SUV But Lives In A Rented Self Contain? by chyket(m): 10:43am On Mar 21, 2015
In Life some people pretend as if where they get to in life is always because they are hardworking, smart and very discerning but life is not as simple as that.
From most of the posts i ve gone through here,it seems to most people that its automatic that once you make an investment that it will succeed and prosper but statistics show that 75% of start ups ie new businesses fail within the first 3 years, look around your environment and see how often businesses spring up and disappear.
Most businesses struggle in Nigeria because of poor foundation like inadequate capital, copycat syndrome and lack of basic management skills etc.
Most. genuine businessmen in Nigeria know that the greatest threat and competition in business comes from people who have access to drug money, government funds etc and they patiently wait for you to develop a business model and once they notice that you are making a headway, they float a similar business and pump so much resources into it that yours will look like a child's play.
I have seen Millionaires become beggars and beggars become Millionaires so people should not base their marriage on what you have now or what you do not have.I have been married for over 14years and I can tell you from my personal experience that things will always change but what always keeps a marriage is believeing in yourselves and a decision that you will make a success out of the marriage.
You could even own properties and investment at inception of the marriage and circu mstances beyond your control may make you to sell them off in other to survive.
Once a Man has genuine plans for the future and he is willing to work together with the wife to achieve it and He believes and trusts in God,I personally believe that they are on their way to a successful marriage irrespective of the hiccups that may come up once in a while.

Politics / Re: 10 Suits Seeking Buhari’s Disqualification To Be Decided On March 24 by chyket(m): 10:45pm On Mar 20, 2015
Enough of this intimidation from Gen Buhari supporters!!!.The Law is bigger than everybody, including President Jonathan and Gen Buhari.
If Gen Buhari is not qualified in line with our constitution, for goodness sake let him be disqualified.Let's not set a wrong precedence that will breed anarchy in the future.
Gen Buhari has done the right thing by providing us with a secondary school certificate,INEC should do what every reputable organisation does when they receive a certificate and that is ,AUTHENTICATE it.
I am tired of everybody running around an issue that is very simple and straightforward.

I also think that President Jonathan also caused the recent flooding in Agege!,i think Gov Fasola is so desparate to ensure that Gen Buhari wins so that he could get some political rehabilitation after May 2015 ,that he has exhibited some traits that is so close to what you encounter in numerous motor parks in Lagos.

Politics / Re: Corrupt Leaders Will Flee Nigeria If Buhari Wins –okorocha by chyket(m): 9:05am On Mar 11, 2015
If Buhari wins,I hope he won't repeat the selective justice that he practised in 1984 where northern politicians were put under house arrest and southern politicians were sent to jail.
If He has changed and therefore has decided to pursue proper justice, then one significant thing will happen and that is,He will find it very difficult to assemble a team to work with him because almost all the people around him will be in jail .The greatest drawback to Nigeria's anti -corruption drive has been and will continue to be insincerity and double standards.
Do you know how insulting it is for Nigerians to watch helplessly as our Politicians irrespective of Party affiliations will steal from us mercilessly and still have the guts and audacity to come before us and preach against corruption as if we are fools!!!.Its just like a known Rapist setting up an NGO to fight rape in a community that he raped a victim, just because he is not in jail for the rape offence.
I don't want to mention names but beside Gen Buhari,Nuhu Ribadu, and a very few others,How many Nigerians have occupied govt positions without dipping their hands in the till?
I sincerely think that our political arena currently will make more sense if our Politicians spend more time telling us how they intend to give Nigerians jobs and create enabling environment for entrepreneurs in a secured environment.
Enough of this their insults on our sensibilities.

TV/Movies / Re: Television Politics: Five Years Later DSTV Is Still Yet To Launch Igbo Channel by chyket(m): 7:52pm On Mar 09, 2015
deeplow:
No disrespect to the igbos. I love igbos. Truth be told, there aren't enough content to air. There is an igbo channel on startimes, and they barely have anything interesting to put on, and it is characterised by repititions. If dstv were to eventually open an Ndigbo channel, I am sure even igbos will get bored after a while.

Popular Igbo Nollywood actors have to forget all the pure English movies they act in. Promote their culture to the world. Most Indian actors speak good English, but they still stick to their language in movies, and theybare respected everywhere. Every week, at least 15 yoruba movies are released, Even though half of them are nonsense, it still gives room for options. Igbos should release as many as possible too.

I would be glad, if they can work on this, and produce plenty many Igbo movies. Maybe from there, I will learn enough Igbo to woo Chinweizu(my life long crush).
I am very impressed by this submission because its unbiased and objective.I am igbo and i dont feel diminished by this write up.
I wish most topics on nairaland that cuts across tribal lines will be treated this way,so that people can appreciate the message behind the write up without being reduced or diminished

I am a fan of the Marvin's.I watched the show and was not impressed,I feel that they did not really prepare for that show, maybe they took the audience for granted and felt they could get away with any level of performance but times have changed!.Nigerians are more discerning now than ever before, socially ,politically and spiritually. They should try and up their game.Better luck to them next time

This is already too late because the video is already in YouTube!Even if Tinubu wins this case in the court of Law,what happens in the court of the people.Everybody knows the truth and I don't really see anybody being influenced by this drama between Tinubu and AIT.
The major considerations in choosing our political affiliations in Nigeria remain INTEREST,TRIBE and RELIGION.
Until we as a people begin to hold our politician's accountable for their performance VI's a vis their electoral promises,we will not grow as a Nation

On the Issue of corruption, you make me laff.. if any sane man compares these two parties in terms of corruption, he ll finally say APC is a party of saints.[/q
Saints indeed!!! If an individual can pocket over 10% of all the taxes paid by millions of Lagosians for about 15years+,then God help Nigeria when they get the Presidency.I will encourage both APC and PDP to expose all that is possible .Nigeria will be better off for it.

Phones / Re: My Boss Is Tracking Me With Phone by chyket(m): 6:40am On Mar 06, 2015
Always keep the phone with the sim number he has in your office while you get another phone.

Whenever he tracks you, its always gonna show you are in the office[/quote]
This won't always work especially if you are expected to work outside the office like marketing dept and you need to always give your boss feedback on the go.
Secondly this will work only if your boss never calls you on phone directly because I guess that not picking his calls each time he calls because you are somewhere else and your phone is in the office will certainly be considered a bigger offence.

Politics / Re: AIT Replies Tinubu, Demands N100bn Damage by chyket(m): 8:10am On Mar 05, 2015
The truth of this is that if you reside in Lagos in the last 15years,you will notice that most of these allegations against Bola Tunubu is what have been in the public domain for a longtime now,AIT is actually giving Bola Tinubu a platform to correct all these allegations once and for all.I for one is interested in knowing which one is the truth and which one is mere political propaganda.

I think perception has a lot to do with this, previously our society frowned heavily on men with dreadlocks but I guess its becoming more acceptable now.I personally do not like judging people based on things like tattoos etc because it could be very deceptive and you could end up being very wrong.Every human being has a story behind him so find out the story and you find out the real him.

Its no big deal.Once you get into the expressway, you will adapt immediately and after about an hour ,you will forget all these fears.
Personally I think its easier to drive on the highway than intracity.
The major thing you need to do is try and have a companion so that you don't sleep off on the steering.

Politics / Re: China And Russia Send Sophisticated War Weapons To Nigeria by chyket(m): 9:01pm On Feb 28, 2015
Its very painful when we politicize everything in Nigeria.War against terrorism must bring all of us together because its a common enemy and it could affect anybody.Every location is a target so nobody is free from the threat and we should never deceive ourselves that security in any part of Nigeria is terror proof.I witnessed the last bomb blast in Emmab plaza Abuja and I know what it looked like. Please let's pray for our armed forces in this trying moments because for every soldier we loose in this war, somebody somewhere has lost a husband, brother, uncle, son etc.
For people who make a profession out of criticizing our armed forces, just remember that some of us can't fight this war for all the money in the world.Terrorism is not the conventional war that our armed forces are trained in because they have always excelled in peacekeeping activities but this is a new kind ofwar where you want to fight and go home but your opponents want to fight and die in the process. Its a very difficult situation
Politics / Re: I Won’t Stop Attacking Buhari, Says Fayose by chyket(m): 6:04am On Feb 27, 2015
APC has always been ahead in attacks and propaganda and I am very suprised by General Buhari"s outburst recently that he cannot accept political attacks on his person.President Jonathan has taken these attacks maturely in the past 5 years from all manner of people ie elders, teenagers etc.
I sincerely think that Gen Buhari should understand that times have changed from when he ruled as a military head of state to Democracy, where people are free to express themselves and that to me is actually the beauty of democracy.
