Y'all are funny people I swear. Obviously you are unaware to the fact that we Igbos are renown for contributing to our ancestral communities. As far as paying taxes to grow the economy, are your own people doing that? Also, once the Niger River port is complete, you can expect more of us to flock back to Igboland. That should be a "good thing" for you. More space for your people to do their thing in their land. |

Crack in Reps over Islamic banking policy Written by Jacob Segun Olatunji and Kolawole Daniel, Abuja Monday, 25 July 2011 THERE is now apprehension in the House of Representatives over the endorsement of the controversial Islamic banking and cash withdrawal limit of N150,000 and N1 million for individuals and corporate bodies being introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as some members are now spoiling for war with the leadership of the House. Already, the Nigerian Tribune leant that majority of the members had resolved that the CBN governor, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, should be invited again to appear before the House, to give more explanation on the grey areas being agitated against by Nigerians on the policy. Informed source close the House disclosed that the aggrieved members had been mounting pressure on the Speaker, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, on the need for Sanusi to re-appear before the House, to enable members to ask questions at the end of which the House would take a final position on the matter. Trouble started after the sitting on Thursday, when some aggrieved members vented their anger over the unilateral decision of the deputy speaker, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha, who presided over the session, not to allow members to ask questions from the CBN governor as usual, but rather asked him to go, saying that the House was satisfied with his explanations on the two policies. The bone of contention was how the leadership of the House reportedly shielded the CBN governor from being quizzed by members after his presentation on the justification of the introduction of the two policies in the country. Nigerian Tribune, however, gathered that the decision of the deputy speaker not to entertain any question from members led to a walk-out by some aggrieved members, who perceived that the action as counterproductive to the motive behind the invitation of the CBN boss. Speaking after the session, the Minority Leader of the House, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, did not mince words when he said, “we would have loved to ask him questions that could have led to other reformations as he forgot the peculiarity of the Nigerian state in this digital age.” However, another member who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune on the condition of anonymity, said if the leadership of the House had known that no question would be entertained after the presentation, all the members ought to have been carried along on that line. It was learnt that the deputy speaker decided not to entertain questions from members because of the past experience the sixth Assembly had with Sanusi over the controversial jumbo pay of the lawmakers. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/25566-crack-in-reps-over-islamic-banking-policy |

Katsumoto: You are yet to make the point you were trying to make initially now you are jumping onto another issue. The fact is that you can not convict someone without evidence. Aghaya's name is only there because he was suspected. Without evidence, he was released. The same with other junior officers. You keep focusing on silly and irrelevant points. Do you have any evidence to suggest that Aghaya was part of the plot. At least, there was evidence linking Obienu and Chude-Sokei to the coup. I am going to start ignoring you because you bring nothing to a debate other than constant idiocy. You are asking me where Ademoyega and Ifeajuna are from; Ifeajuna is from Kano and Ademoyega is from Cameroon. I hope my sarcasm is not lost on you. Still trying to figure out why you wrote the above, dude. Now, answer the question,k? |
Politics › Re: The Northern Counter-coup Of 1966: The Full Story Without Bias! by Chyz2: 1:22am On Jul 25, 2011 |
Katsumoto: Bear in mind that there is a distinction between those involved in the planning and those involved by circumstance.
Majors Ifeajuna Nzeogwu Okafor Anuforo Chukwuka Aghaya Onwuatuegwu Ademoyega Chude-Sokei Obienu
Captains Gbulie Nwobosi Oji Udeaja Ude
Lieutenants Oyewole Adeleke Ezeigbo
Second Lieutenants Azubuogor Nwokocha Ojukwu Onyefuru Igweze Egbibor Olafimihan Ngwuluka Nweke Ikejiofor
NB. Major Aghaya was also arrested but his involvement remains indeterminate. He wasn't involved in the execution but he was aware of the coup
If you had the list of the plotters, what was the point in asking for it? This guy, you are a funny dude. You know that? Lol. If Aghaya was one of the Majors and was "aware" or the coup, that means he was involved in it. He's no less guilty then the others. Another thing @ the bolded in red, where exactly were those people from? Or which region were they from? |

Katsumoto: You must be smoking something heavy if you think you have the capability to 'pluck holes' in my posts. Your posts are inarticulate and disjointed. You started by asking who killed Shodeinde, Ademulegun, Akintola and put Western region in quote. You are yet to make that point clear. Then you proceeded to ask for the names of those that shot the victims in January when anyone with common sense knows that in a military setting, the MOST senior officer is in charge.
For your information, the official Special Branch report states that Nzeogwu was present at the murder of Shodeinde. That Nzeogwu later went to Bello does not preclude his presence at Shodeinde's house. Afterall, the same Onwuategwu that was present at Shodeinde's house also killed Ademulegun. You can keep trying to twist little facts but the facts remain that Shodeinde, Ademulegun, Bello, wives etc were all killed in Kaduna on the night of the first coup and they didn't die from physical exhaustion.
Like I said, keep focusing on who fired the shots; the rest will focus on those who gave the orders. So I left just to come back to see you being on high horses, lol. Any ways, it still stands, you claim is from nothing but conjecture and until you come with facts your write up will remain useless. |

No matter how much you guys (Chyz and bash4r in particular) keep trying to twist little facts, you will remain unsuccessful in changing mindsets because others are not as daft as you think. I take no pleasure in correcting dullards, I only do it for members who don't post but read. Who is twisting what facts? What facts do you have, lol? You work off of conjectures and nothing else. You type a bunch of nonsense that people destroy with a couple of sentences. And bets believe mindsets have been changed for the good and that was not done by you. BTW, im going grocery shopping i'll be back to pluck holes in you rubbish write ups again later. |

Well since YOU were there and he DID do it, why dont YOU provide us with the video, tapes, or recordings proving he killed Shodeinde? Also, didn't you say that it was both Nzeogwu and Onwutegwu that killed Shodeinde? Why now that you changed to Onwuategwu, lol? I hope that the post i uploaded did have that much of an effect on you? Katsumoto: You are a dunce. You want to blame NCOs when their was a commanding officer. If you don't understand military parlance, then shut the bleep up. The commanding officer is always in charge; he gives orders which are followed by surbodinates. Even a ten year old girl would understand that. Cool your temper. You cant always have things your way. bellten: @ Ezeuce, I have witnessed the savage attacks being meeted out to you by Igbo-aters on this forum. They say you are a tribalist, but you are a hero, who is passionately defending his people against injustice. My quetion is, why don't you and other serious Igbo activists like Chyz, Obiagu, Zeeno, e.t.c, form a private forum in igbodefender.com?
There, no one can derail your pro-Igbo threads, and you get to ban anyone who comes in through the back door to do that. Imagine being admin on forum discussing your 'palm oil' and 'true extent of Alaigbo' threads. That's wat you get by starting your forum at igbodefender.com.
If you need a private group, go start an Ezeuche's group thread there now. The Igbos need what you have to offer, but here is not the right place for uninterupted discussion by Ndigbo. As I speak to you, I have my own forum called Bellten Club, and I'm thinking of making it private and inviting a few trusted people. I'm on to it. Got to sock it to these deceivers on nairaland first. |

Katsumoto: [s]Shodeinde was killed by Onwuategwu and Nzeogwu[/s] Ademulegun and wife were killed by Onwuategwu Akintola was killed by Nwobosi
Shodeinde and Ademulegun weren't killed in the Western region, they were killed in Kaduna. Thats why I said you should stop asking silly questions and go directly to your point instead of obfuscating like a teenager who missed her period. So what was the point you wanted to make? You claims of Onwuategwu and Nzeogwu killing Shodeine is all conjecture like everything concerning the coup usually is. Maybe you got your infor from here but added your own patches to benefit your argument. Funny guy. Lol: The head of the NMTC Colonel Ralph Shodeinde was also killed. The manner of his death is unclear. His wife (who was present when he was killed) testified that he was shot by several soldiers including Majors Nzeogwu and Onwuategwu. Other accounts claim that a grenade was tossed at him. It is not clear whether Nzeogwu could possibly have been involved in Shodeinde’s death since presumably he was pre-occupied at the time with killing Ahmadu Bello. Most accounts place responsibly for Shodeinde’s murder with Onwuategwu. The Majors’ bloodlust in some cases and failure to kill others is puzzling. The same Major Onwuategwu who shot his commanding officers and their wives arrested, but did not harm the Governor of the Northern Region: Sir Kashim Ibrahim. When released, Ibrahim vouched that he had been treated with utmost respect by the men who abducted him. The Majors clearly had their “favourites” when it came to sparing or ending lives. |

Katsumoto: Seriously, do you have a brain. There was a Biafran war because of the success of the July 1966 coup. Or am I missing the point?
Stop asking silly questions and just state your point. Now its clear that you are playing dumb dumb. If the northerers to over the East like they did the West, would it have been room for the training of its citizens to fight against nigeria? If it would have been any room, it definitely wouldnt have been the type of civil war as we all know. |

Katsumoto: I see an attempt at revisionism coming up. Please answer your questions for the benfit of those that don't know. How can the counter-coup fail in the East if the coup in general accomplished its primary objectives. Or do you mean the coup failed in the East because no one died? So what you are saying if that the counter-coup succeeded in the East? Also, if the primary objeective was accomplished why was there a Biafran war? I guess the northerners only went through with the coup the occupy the North and West, abi? |

Katsumoto: You mean Bello, Balewa, Shodeinde and his pregnant wife, Ademulegun and his wife, Maimalari, Largema, Kur Muhammed, Okotie-Eboh were all armed? Were they armed to the teeth as they slept in bed?
Akintola was the only person that went down fighting; every other person was gunned down in cold blood. It appears that your definition of bravery, cowardice, and honour is different from everyone else's. Umm, Mr. Bigot, Who killed Shodeinde and his "pregnant wife", and Ademulegun and his wife, etc.(speaking only about thw Western region)? Who pulled the trigger on Akintola? |
