Asaba Airport begins commercial flight On July 14, 2011 · In News By Austin Ogwuda Asaba – COMMERCIAL flights commenced, yesterday, into the Asaba International Airport. Addressing newsmen at the airport, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Christopher Ogeah, said: “Overland Airline is going to be the premier operator of this airport at the beginning and I can assure you that other Nigerian indigenous airlines are also going to join them and make this a lucrative route for the airlines. “I also want to say that we have certification. Like you all know, everything about this airport and aviation has to do with global safety standards and before certification can be given to us, you know the level of work we had done. “As I speak with you, today (yesterday) we can commence commercial flights into and from this airport. We are also in the process of working with the airline for the flight to commence immediately.” The former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Fidelia Njeze, had commended the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for building the Asaba International Airport while calling on other states in the country to emulate such initiative as the Federal Government would give them the necessary support. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/asaba-airport-begins-commercial-flight/ |

Boko Haram: Obi to send buses to evacuate Anambra indigenes from Maiduguri By Ihuoma Chiedozie, Abuja Tuesday, 12 Jul 2011 Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday said he would send vehicles to Maiduguri, Borno State to evacuate the state‘s indigenes from the troubled city. Residents are reportedly fleeing Maiduguri in large numbers as the city has become unsafe as a result of the activities of members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram. Speaking to journalists after meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan in the Presidential Villa, Obi said he don‘t want Anambra indigenes to be harmed in Maiduguri. The governor was asked to comment on measures his administration would take to assist the state‘s indigenes in the troubled city. ”I will do that (evacuate Anambra indigenes) if the need be because I will not want any Anambrarian to be harmed in any part of the world,” Obi said. The governor called on members of the Boko Haram sect to desist from violence. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201107121842217 |

Abuloma80:So jonathan has just become another Ironsi. He gave we southners crap positions. Finally gets the chance to even this country out and the big dummy with no nuts pull this move, lol. |
@ilede-idi, im still waiting for a report on the incident not reported by vanguard. All othe links that actually work that you posted are from the same vanguard. ![]() |
Ileke-IdI:So you have enough time to create fake links. Lmao! This isn't nigeria, joblessness shouldn't amount to that. ![]() |
Seanet1000:What happened in Ohaji can't even compare to that. Any way i said Ohaji/Egbema people are cowards too, if this story is true. Go read my earlier posts. |
@seanet, clarify the story that you are talking about? |
Dis Guy:Thought I was the only one that noticed! |
davis-joe:They are divorced. I guess she's still keeping the last name for recognition and relevance in politics. |
EzeUche:If it is a rumor, then it needs to be debunked by another news article asap. |
davis-joe:She is Igbo. She married a former minister from Edo state. With that being said, it seems she was given that position out of nepotism(recycling). smh to this failure of a cabinet. |
EzeUche:I doubt that. Everyone from all states read Vanguard. The only reason I'm giving this story a benefit of a doubt is because this isn't the first time Ohaji let fulanis do this to them. If this story is true, which I cant believe an Igbo village will allow such thing to happen, Ohaji/Egbema people should be label as Osu from now on. I have no respect for their "men". |
Gov. Chibuike Amaechi once did something of this sort in PH. ![]() |
Ileke-IdI:Haba! |
Why haven't we heard this report from any other newspaper? ![]() |
alj_harem:Alhaji, Kedu? ![]() You're trying, keep up d good work. ![]() |
alj_harem:huh? ![]() |
alj_harem: ![]() |
If this is true, this is the second time this kind of thing is happening in Ohaji. Ohaji youths and men are cowards. I propose that other Igbo towns come and uproot their men out of that area and replace them. The men didn't even do anything. It was even the women who protested. Who on Nairaland is from Ohaji, please come out and explain your people's response! ![]() |
