Fashola meets with victim of Naval brutality

http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20081107155662

”This matter has been brought to my attention by e-mails, and postings on the Internet on what took place. I can assure you that our democracy will protect you. You will get justice.

I have summoned the Solicitor-General of the state and Head of Office of Public Defender, they will go out with you. They will continue to advise you. Whatever legal assistance you will require, the state government will provide it for you. I will make representation to Mr. President and all the reports I get from the Ministry of Justice, I will pass it to him. I am sure that he will do justice to it”.

The governor, who noted that though the wheel of justice might turn slowly, assured her that “this one will be different, I don’t think that any act of provocation could have justified what I have seen and of course, we need to hear from the other side on what happened.”

GOD BLESS FASHOLA!!!!!!!
Just read this. THANK GOD
Rapists, perverts, who knows what they do to other females off camera.
This is their daily routine, except that their cup is full with the cries of the numerous Nigerians they have brutalized and killed.
HARRY AND HIS DOGS MUST GO!

I salute the following heroes:
1) Nairalanders and other Nigerians who shouted. You did not shout for Uzoma alone, you shouted for a country we love so much, you shouted for our women, you shouted for humanity.
2) Whoever shot and published the video, you share in this victory.
3) Governor Fashola: Leaders like you fuel our great expectations and hope in our leadership
4) UZOMA OKERE - Hero 1: You are a strong woman, you could have cowered in fear and pleaded with cries that would have fallen on deaf ears. BUT YOU FOUGHT. Your bravery will forever assault the peace and sleep of HARRY AND HIS EQUALLY PERVERTED COWARDS.
They run from hoodlums and terrorize innocent and harmless citizen.

NB: This matter is getting enough attention from my research

Thanks for the numbers. I am going to put them to good use.

It is gross that any 'humanbeing' born of a woman will attempt to justify what those animals did.

PoliticsRe: Naval Officers Beat Up A Lady And Stripped Her - Watch Video by cicero(m): 9:18pm On Nov 06, 2008
No matter what, neither she nor any other individual deserves such treatment, much more in their own country.
This Harry is of the same stock of dumb, immoral and heartless charlatans and drug addicts we have in positions of authority in this country.
How could a supposed ‘officer and a gentleman’ of the Nigerian Navy condone and obviously commend this sort of insanity?

Let’s take up this fight for our mothers, sisters and daughters by publishing this clip and its story in every forum and news site we have access to. Let us make this Harry and his goons sleepless and hound them out of the Nigerian Navy.

Must Nigerians suffer in the hands of well-armed hoodlums and also its own Navy?
I am not letting go of this, I may not carry a gun, I may not have the privilege of walking on the marbled corridors leading to the President’s office, but I sure can shout electronically.
This dog called Harry and the other dogs MUST PAY.

My disdain knows no bounds for any man who would dare lay his hand on any female or support it.

Finally it seems Nigeria has come to exploit the very many benefits of technology. Let the cameras keep rolling and I salute the courage those that shot this video and published it.
FamilyRe: Children Raised In Nigeria Are Better? by cicero(m): 12:15pm On Nov 03, 2008
Where you raise kids does not have much impact as how you raise them.

If you can survive in Nigeria you can survive anywhere in the world!
Is that supposed to be a compliment? Or is it a plus?
Please everybody don't buy into this lie.
Well that may work if you are moving to some West African countries.
But if you are moving to the US and want to enjoy your stay then you must make some changes and brake some 'hard to brake' Nigerian habits.
Christianity EtcRe: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by cicero(m): 6:55pm On Oct 31, 2008
CICERO, I quite agree with you. For those of us who have agreed in faith to be a part of tithing we can prove that it works. I don't lack via tithing. So for one am a living withness that tithing works. tested and trusted. And it is worthy of note that our tithe are giving in obedience to God's instruction. I am less bothered about if anyone is turning it to a business or enriching himself by it. I GIVE MY TITHE SIMPLY BECAUSE GOD SAID SO AND I AM CONVINCED and I have not stopped because the part God said he will play when I tithe, I see him do it.
Ohije you are right, it is no longer our business what happens to the tithes and offerings after it goes into the storehouse.
This is where most people miss it.

One thing we also do is we pray and speak God's promises over our tithe at home before handing it over and after that we watch what we let out of our mouths.
Oh God is faithful. If you can see it in His Word and believe it, He will perform it.

I am forever grateful that I belong to the great army of consistent tithers. By doing in faith with our income what the mind of man ordinarily opposes, we have cheaply subdued and enslaved money.

It baffles me how Christians and non Christians alike get into arguments about Pastors and Ministries and leaving out the important message of the bible about an imminent end and the need for the Savior. It's like chasing the shadow and leaving the substance. IF IT TURNS OUT THAT YOU DIED AND FACED WITH HEAVEN OR HELL AND NO CHOICE, WHAT WILL HAPPEN? The Christian should be sure he is gonna make it and the non Christian should be asking what if it turns out to be true. Not Pastor Chris, T.B. Joshua, Benny Hinn and Okija shrine

Lol. Have I mentioned anything about evolution? Why have you suddenly jumped into the conclusion that I believe that evolution is a "theory about creation"? (Or were my thoughts revealed to you by the Atheist Spirit? grin). You may think that atheists have no basis for an organised movement but if you look around you, you will notice that atheist publications, tv propagandas, publicity stunts and even evangelism is on the rise, none of which I believe are carried out single-handedly. The London bus evangelism by "British Humanist Association" aka Atheist Charity raising over £100K for their bus evangelism campaign, shows you how many eager candidates you have out there.
I agree with you that religious fundamentalists outnumber atheist fundamentalists - however, that doesn't mean that atheists are some small, timid forgotten sect, intimidated time and again by theists. At least, not in this day and age. Atheists use their God-given freewill to evangelise, intimidate and argue just as well as theists do. Belief in biblical accounts - especially in the New Testament, are not irrational. Read up on some Ancient Greek archaeology, and you will find out that there is no evidence that contradicts these accounts. Instead, there is more evidence in favour of them rather than against them. Take for example the account of Sodom and Gomorrah. (I'm only using this example because it is a story of which I'm a little familiar with the archaeology - and the events could have not only left verbal witnesses, but also archaelogical witnesses - No other reason, I promise!). Recent archaeological findings have shown a portion of the land around the Red Sea which fits perfectly into the position of the 5 cities in the Bible, of which Sodom and Gomorrah were a part. Further investigation in this area by different archaelogists have found portions of ash, sulfur, brimstone, ashpalt and burnt crops. These areas have been said to demonstrate evidence of burning across at least 3 of the cities, with mass grave sites excavated. This is just one of many archaeological findings which fully support the "stories" you hear about in the Bible. . .
Some years back I was visiting the areas you were referring and our guide urged us to taste the sand and to my amazement every scoop of sand tasted as salt smiley

If your faith is not built on Jesus Christ and His commandment, you are not a christian.
The christian faith revolves around Jesus, He is the core, the center and the backbone of Christianity.
He is the numero uno, the first and the last, all in all of christianity.
He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
He is God.
Take Him away, the remaining is theory.

Christianity EtcRe: To Tithe or Not to Tithe? by cicero(m): 8:34pm On Oct 28, 2008
1) No one should be compelled to tithe
2) Tithing or not tithing has nothing to do with eternal life in Christ Jesus
3) Tithing is a wisdom of God for the benefit of 'whosoever believeth' to practically express their faith and in so doing rule their world
4) It is by choice powered by wisdom and based on faith.
5) I highly recommend it
6) My family practice it consistently
7) I have proved God faithful by tithing. There has never been and never will be any reason for anyone to pity or say sorry to us. People give us unusual gifts all the time from all over the world not because we don't have, but because the heavens are open on us.

@ OLAADEGBU:
Someone sent me that story a couple of days ago.
After reading it I focused on the part where this man's lover came on the scene, wait a minute, he got himself involved in an unholy union that almost cost him his home and for what? selfishness.
We as christian men have to know that no matter how much you pray or serve the Lord you have to set boundaries between you and the opposite sex or else sooner or later you might be caught in the trap of adultery.
Your spirituality can't save you here, your deliberate decisions and actions will. Your spirituality points your conscience towards the truth but you need to 'will' to follow the truth.
I know a sister presently going through simply because the husband, a deacon in one of the biggest churches in Nigeria is having an affair with his secretary.
The lesson here for married persons is not to carry each other to the door or 'pretend' to be romantic before their children.
The lesson is set boundaries that protect your beautiful home or else you will find yourself living for 'self'. Even if the boundary means you sacking your secretary like I did years ago.
One last note to married and yet to marry brothers and sisters: If you want to enjoy peace, prosperity and protection, pour all the love you can on your family, especially your spouse and then expect a life of overflow.
Car TalkRe: What To Do When Robbers Want To Take Your Car? by cicero(m): 8:26pm On Sep 15, 2008
My car was stolen from me not long ago. Two riff raffs just walked up to me, brandished guns, ordered me to lie down and just like that a car I bought brand new from elizade was gone plus other expensive stuff. I was wise not to struggle with them and God helped they did not shoot. I replaced the car and this time they tried to stop me while on high speed, ofcourse I sped off, inspite of the warning shot they fired to scare me to stop.
After that last and most recent incident WHICH IS THE LAST, I concluded that a person's car is a powerful weapon against robbers depending on the circumstance. If you are a good driver just crush at least one of them with the car and I believe the rest will take off. Better still chase after them and crush another. My people say the good you do for a robber is to cut off his head! Try this only if you are are advantage and know this, your protection from wicked and unreasonable men is between you and God in Nigeria. The nigerian police 'na try your luck'
RomanceRe: I've Had Enough Of Men! by cicero(m): 10:25am On Sep 02, 2008
Sheryl,
There are good men and bad men just as there are good women and bad women, I refuse to reduce it to the level of men being worst than women. The human nature makes it possible for anybody male or female, to take a leaning towards the attitudes and tendencies of the people and environment that have had the most influence on them.
An example is if you met a man who grew up under a father who was a wife beater then you've most probably met a wife beater and the daughter of this very man may accept her man beating her as normal. It is also same thing if a man hooks up with a woman whose mother was a flirt or an obedient house wife.
It is unfortunate you have been meeting with the wrong men but know also that some men have suffered much more in the hands of bad women.
Lastly, who are you? Do you deserve an honest man? Are you honest? Why are you attracted to the wrong men? Have you handled the important issue of starting a relationship with the wisdom it demands? Do you prioritize the wrong elements of a relationship over very important ones? think about it.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nigerian Monarch Driving Buses In New York by cicero(m): 9:52am On Sep 02, 2008
I applaud this king, he is being practical. Being some driver in the US is better than running after politicians and yahoo boys for money in exchange for chieftaincy titles and lending credibility to their excesses plus he gets to make genuine, selfless contribution to the developement of his community from honest money.
The traditional institution called oba, igwe or whatever has lost respect and has been largely hijacked by irresponsible men with their ill-gotten wealth, our man obviously thinks differently and i respect him for that.

PoliticsRe: Ndi Okereke-Onyuike Arrested By EFCC Over Obama Xtravaganza! by cicero(m): 10:45am On Aug 21, 2008
The has no business with raising funds or even awareness for Obama. That is not Nigeria's problem. Like someone rightly pointed out she could have spent the time and money on some project that would benefit the poor in Nigeria instead of some American who already has all the help he needs.

Her actions showcases the Nigerian problem - people in leadership positions that have only led majority of our people into more poverty, crime and utter hopelessness. She didn't goof, she was only being true to the insensitive and non challant culture of the Nigerian leadership.

On the other hand, I don't care whether Obama wins or not as the outcome of the election will have little or no effect on the Nigerian dilemma. I don't even have that much respect for African Americans, in all the years I have been visiting America I have suffered more humiliation in the hands of African Americans than Whites.

EFFC should find out the purpose of that fundraiser as it relates to motive and intent.
So shall all of them who have done more harm to Nigeria more than the white man be exposed and given a dose of the pain suffered by majority of Nigerians.
Ride on Waziri, your time shall come too.

RomanceRe: Why Do Guys Lose Interest In Relationships After The Chase? by cicero(m): 1:01pm On Mar 07, 2008
I don’t know why it happens, I have lost interest too after spending time, money and some precious weeks of my life. Looking back I can only say we were not being true to each other, the motive was wrong from the onset.

But digressing a bit, playing hard to get is a woman’s defense response to test the sincerity of any man showing interest in her. Whether this works is not the issue here, but in a society where most men are wrongly socialized into seeing every woman as a ‘intimacy gadget’ such a response should be seen as normal.
Just follow the post of some guys here and you will agree with me. Now it is not largely the fault of these men, but that doesn’t make it right.

On the other hand there are women who while playing hard to get see through their ‘stalkers’ and know that they are not sincere but they alternate between flashing red and green light the same time. These sisters reinforce the notion in men that the longer you act ‘you will win’

My advice to sisters – this is for those who want permanent relationship – let marriage be the proof that he really loves you, nothing more nothing less. If you don’t like him then firmly reject his favors or you might get yourself into owing a debt that has to be paid.

Whether rich or poor, enlightened or not, whatever the tribe or culture, expensive burial does not benefit the dead, so why indulge in it?

I do not belong to lslam but their way of burial is the best as far as I'm concerned. My father who will soon turn 81 has said it over and over again that God will bless any of his Son's who will bury him in the backyard without keeping him for a ceremonial burial and I've vowed to do just that for him.

Aged ones could be celebrated upon their departure but we should try also to make sure they are comfortable financially while they live, else every form of celebration is uncalled for.
