@MandingoII In your hateful posts lies the bitter truth of the great harm done to our 'nation' Nigeria by Nigerians. |
I strongly believe this President is in such a condition that he cannot take the decision to step down. I'd rather we identify the elements holding unto power while hiding behind the President. Those are the real enemy of Nigeria, not The President. With this understanding and no matter how bad I feel at the recent events in the country, I believe in praying for our President as an individual passing through a difficult time in the midst of wolves who care nothing about him, but their miserable, selfish selves. Father in heaven, mercy, mercy, have mercy on our President. There is nothing, absolutely nothing too difficult for you to do. I join all your children praying for him, break the chains that hold him bound and heal him. Do it Father, let mercy triumph over judgment, and let the bones rise again. Thank You Father. To You, not to us, to You be the glory for ever in Jesus Name. Amen |

Please can we get more suggestions on how to revive our reading culture or should I say of our children? I don't know how far we parents can go but surely we can help our children. Personally I used to read a lot but that changed although my love for reading remains, I spend a lot on books (haven't read most) I remember those days when I would read from morning till night. Now the computer is trying to destroy whatever is remaining of the damages caused by too much 'goodtime' However, it is one of the best gifts parents can give to their children, teach them to love reading. What we do for our kids is we buy a lot of kiddy books, we read to them, strict restriction on TV, zero tolerance for nigerian home movie in our home, we (especially my wife) read to ourselves while they watch besides reading to them, but I think the best would be living out that culture ourselves. More suggestions please? |
You and your fiance should have ironed this out even before the trad wed. However, all is not lost but you need to apply wisdom. Definitely you need both parents consent, very important! So I suggest to you that while you guys are praying about it, persuade both parents, I don't mean shouting and arguing, but gently letting them know how important it is to both of you that you are allowed to wed in a church of your choice (I assume you are fully with your man on this). Start with your siblings to the mothers then up to the fathers. It might take a little time, require patience but it will work. Also involve them in the wedding plans, this will arouse excitement and expectation and gradually weaken their resistance. I wish you all the best |
Majority of Nigerian women and men actually believe a man is created to cheat. I have heard some women say they don't care what they husbands do outside the home as long as they don't bring it home. Some even make sound so romantic and loving that they husbands respect and love them by hiding their cheating from them. This is all wrong and abnormal. The only reasons I believe a woman would expect her husband to cheat is if 1) She has accepted the lie that men are created to be promiscuous 2) She was dating married men before marriage, and as such expects same to happen to her 3) She knowingly decides to marry a 'he-goat' 4) She too is messed There could be other better reasons but whatever the reason, it is wrong to expect such from your husband. |
Thank you man |

rasmur5:I am surprised. Will try it next time. Thanks for this tip. |
My question is, with the privatization of the ports are containers still handled at owner's risk or shouldn't the companies operating the ports provide adequate security for containers and of course other items? While I was lamenting to whoever cared to listen, one man whose container came out the same time as mine consoled me by recounting how some of his imports were stolen and after he mentioned how much they were worth I was greatly consoled and thanked God I still had the cars. This and the experiences of others validates Rothstein's post about the porosity of our ports. Mine is not an isolated case. I am seriously considering ro-ro for my next import, I'm sure I can do that, then settle to safeguard my cars and still have enough saving. @rasmur5 How did your relative witness the examination? |
Kunle-A: Tado: ib612:Guys I strongly believe it happened in Tin Can, they left me a souvenir - the kind of screwdriver you would only see with a Nigerian mechanic and the dirty thief left the greasy, dark trademark of Nigerian mechanics on my leather seat with his equally dirty whatever-he-was-wearing. I used MSC and cleared from Terminal C I believe (The ports and cargo handling services limited gate) |
german007:Why pay security staff if the security protocol has greatly improved? Anyway, I blame my agent too. |
Let me mention that a padlock was broken in my presence |
After the container was opened and it was discovered, the agent said his boy who witnessed the inspection informed him that the seal was broken but that he forgot to tell me. They then said it was vandalized before it arrived Nigeria, but I insisted it happened at Tin Can there. |
How is this possible? It happened to me. This the same reason I avoided ro-ro. |
This is good news! I remember doing a klm flight with him sometime ago and the sight of this great man and his wife shuffling through with his carry on wasn't cool at all. Thank God for him |
@REAL TRUTH Yes I agree with you, and that is why the Bereans were considered more noble in the book of Acts, they searched the scriptures to see if the apostles preached the truth. If you don't search the scriptures you make the same mistake as your man of God. Unfortunately we live in a society where the majority are unwilling to study scripture. But I still insist you have to follow someone. Read 1Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? People shout I follow only Jesus, I follow only God that sounds humble but how can you follow God or Christ if you can't follow God's messengers sent to be a blessing? It's just like saying I love God as in above quoted scripture while hating your fellow man. God could have come down to free the Israelites from Egyptian bondage but he sent a man. Every time the Israelites messed up He sent a prophet. And when you locate your man of God, honour him, tha's what I am saying. @ Becomerich There is really no confusion in the church, I hear there are many muslim sects in Nigeria too. You had the sadduces and the pharicees in the time of Jesus, he didn’t berate them for having sects. And yes there will be fakes, you have it in every shpere of human endeavor but they can only mislead those that yield to deception because of ignorance. That there are fake naira notes in circulation does not mean there is no original out there. Now God gives to each according to ability, some have their faith exercised to the capacity of believing what others cannot accomodate, that doesn't make them different but what they doare to believ will work for them. By the way, talking about confusion, why would a secular magazine be the place to discuss your fellow Christian brothers, you don't accuse them of murder or any offence deserving death? And about the anointing oil being the power of God in a bottle or a symbol of the Holy Spirit, which is easier the former or the later that implies making an image for the person of the Holy Spirit which is clearly forbidden by scripture? Time will not permit me to delve into this particular so I'll leave it there. I don’t hate Tunde bakare or anyone for that matter, but don’t take sides against your Christian brothers. Peter was sent to the Jews, Paul was sent to the Gentiles, one God, same goal, but two messengers to ensure people of different orientations are reached. Jesus said they must eat His flesh, some didn’t like it and left, yet the gospel grew mightily and today. About prosperity, Bishop Oyedpo has said time and again that God asked him to get back home and make His people rich, is that not clear enough? He must need be rich if he must make others rich, and he does not force any one to give money, atleast I have not seen him do that, he and his pastors don’t for anyone to even use the anointing oil, I have seen people in Winners refuse to use it when presented to them by pastors and they were not forced to. Then if you are uncomfortable where you worship move to another church that will cater for your spiritual needs. Now that is one way you know false pastors, they build an enclave and refuse to let you live and in most cases cut you off from your family. These men don’t do that. Again Irepeat I have heard Bishop Oyedepo say time and again that if you are not getting what you need in Winners Chapel then move to another church. Like I said earlier, time does not permit me to and here is not the best place to open scriptures and expound by order, with scriptural references: 1) Why I insist Pastor Bakare is in error 2) His own view of the anointing oil is disputable 3) There is no confusion in the church as his interview implies 4) Prosperity in the church is scriptural and this is the beginning, unusual wealth shall be seen in the church in the coming years 5) There is a better way to correct your Christian brothers if you consider them in error 6) And lastly, it is very scriptural to follow a man of God and to love and esteem them 7) More churches will come up, fake and original and this is scriptural Every Christian must personally open the bible and study9) That you have suffered in the hands of fake pastors does not mean you should hate and malign the Christian faith. 10) That even in working out your salvation you need someone and it is a blessing from God to send forerunners for our benefits Christ is building His church and the gate of hell is not prevailing against it. You are either part of it or not |
By the way I am waiting for Tunde Bakare to write his so called memoirs, print at least 60m copies and give it to Nigerians free. That will teach Papa, Daddy G.O. and Daddy Kumuyi a biiiiig lesson |
I have been so busy guys so I couldn't reply all the post referring to my statement about following Bishop Oyedepo. I AM FOLLOWING BISHOP OYEDEPO AND A LOT OF OTHER MEN OF GOD (Tunde Bakare is certainly not one of them) and I have proofs. If it is a mistake, then it is 'biblical mistake' (I doubt there is any such thing though) and I am content with it. Now read the following scripture with understanding (It might not be in the bible of some): 1Co 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. That was Paul saying follow me as I follow Christ. Also read: 2Ch 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper Also read: 1Th 5:12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 1Th 5:13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves If you have original, good old king james, then you sure have those verses. Whenever God wants to bless you he sends men who are only able to bless you to the extent that you appreciate. Bishop Oyedepo as at to day still appreciates other men God placed ahead of him to be a blessing to his ministry. Now, I see from most of this posts that many are ignorant of this and that is why they hit a brick wall following Christ, then they turn around despise men of God who labour day and night. These people are so self willed that the scripture comes second after whatever it is they cose to believe. By the way Pastor Tunde may have been called but I STILL INSIST HE IS IN ERROR. 1) Why did he have to give an interview with the names of men he knows are successful if not to satisfy his yearning for fame and relevance? he could have remained in praying and fasting for them if he thinks they are deviating from the faith 2) These men he is attacking have proofs that show they are called and sent, what is his own proof 3) He blew his trumpet on his giving huge amounts to charity - are you kidding? Do you know how much the Winners Churches worldwide spend on the poor and widows? I am not talking of Papa's own gifts? and all this stems from one man's zeal for God There are other issues I could raise on his interview but I will stop here. Know this dear all, whether spiritual or secular, you can never be made until you follow a success, that is the concept of mentoring, it is not from the world system, it is God's wisdom for the preservation of men's desitinies. When Saul was saved the first thing God did was introduce him to Ananias, God could have opened his eyes, but he needed to learn the lesson, later Paul had many people following him, even serving him in prison. Lastly, Christianity doesn't work for you because you hear what is preached, but because you accepted it. The truth you can't accept won't work for you. |
I don't know much about this Tunde Bakare except that I listened to him preaching once on TV and I give it to him, he is eloquent, from then I followed up on him a little until I read an interview he granted one of the dailies sometime ago and the interviewer asked him about his wife beating allegations, of course he denied. Next I read his prophecy on Obasanjo, and by the way checking that particular blooper up against the scriptures would mean God didn't send him, at least not to say what he said at the time. Next I listened to his message where he tried to justify his failed prophecy. My conclusion of him is that he is more a social critic (or commentator) than a pastor (Maybe he wants to fill Gani's vacuum). These men he is confronting and maligning for cheap publicity and relevance are clearly not his enemies, and no real pastor has time for such trivialities that only satisfy the enemies of the church of Christ, he is taking sides against his own brothers who are doing better than him (Jealousy?). He is in error, nothing in his interview says he has waited on God for his christian brothers so that they will repent. Lester Sumrall whom he claims to be his mentor wouldn't do what he just did. Besides, his interview can only whet the appetite of the ignorant and using the word 'occultic' is way to the extreme. Lastly, non of these men can be accused of having used force to extort money from any one, tithing is not by force, I have heard Bishop Oyedepo on several occasions say if you are not getting blessed in Winners, leave and go to where you can be blessed. He has not forced anyone to use the anointing oil either. Going to the ministry of a man who has been a source of blessing to even president of nations, and spanning about three decades, and lifting one such issue as anointing oil, mantle and starting of model parish while neglecting the countless number of lives who have been blessed can only be jealousy. I am a living proof of the result of Bishop David Oyedepo's obedience to the calling of God in his life. I have consistently stood out among my mates just by following him. My marriage is like heaven on earth filled with spiritual and material blessings just by following him Bishop David Oyedepo has never claimed to be a self-made man like Tunde Bakere, rather he has never stopped celebrating men who have been a blessing to him. This though will not faze him because I have heard him say he told God he will never pretend not to have heard his call. I have also heard him say that God told him that he will not have him go into ministry like others did and failed, but will rather have hands laid on him. Today hundreds of thousands all over the world are being blessed for it. Perhaps if Covenant University was a free school and just like state and federal universities, she wouldn't have so many enemies. I am not defending him nor the others and even if I wanted to, Nairaland may not be the best place, I have spoken so if possible Tunde Bakare will read (maybe he is a nairalander) and know that he is in error. If was is spirit filled and spirit led he should have interceded for them. I'd like him to know that on the other, you can pull any on down and stiil make it, but on this side - God's kingdom, if you don't celebrate other people's success and prosperity whether pastors or laymen, you will not be given yours. I have to go pray and sleep, I have a busy day tomorrow. |
This will be the best Shiloh so far! |
I dont believe this story |

Sorry to digress but has anyone paid attention to the work progress of the contractors handling Artillery-Rumubiakani-First Bank and Rumubiakani-Slaughter, that is Zerock and RCC respectively? While it is glaring that Zerock is grossly incompetent mischief, RCC has continued to display technical competence (Infact the piling equipment hired by Zerock looks so old and worn out that it was mistaken for junk and marked 'REMOVE' with red paint by government officials) I am told the Governor personally monitors the operation of these contractors, I am surprised he is allowing this madness to continue. WHY CAN'T HE KICK OUT ZEROCK AND ALLOW RCC COMPLETE THE PROJECT? |

If you find your way to the US and you want to live there, please DO IT! Just take the advice given here on how to survive over there and settle it in your mind that you will have to make some fundamental attitudinal changes, then you will be fine. The benefits are too numerous and far outweighs the disadvantages (and I seriously think many people find America hard because they want to live like Nigerians in that society, the American system will never accept nor reward anyone for most of the 'nonsense' prevalent in our Nigeria) Besides if you want to maintain an honest, transparent lifestyle, you will better live it in America than Nigeria |

Every Christian must personally open the bible and study
