horsepower101: Purehuman:GBAM! I'm inclined to believe some of those comments are made in bad faith. Especially with the shortsightedness of some people with village mentality that must condemn developments in another state because they think Enugu, Anamabra,Imo or Ebonyi should be first in something. The Federal Government continues to build federal housing estates in northern state capitals and NONE in Southeast states. Yet, when our people rally their little resources to build housing estates in the SE, you hear faceless people condemning them. So how will the so called new graduate that wants to base in the SE and find a job or start a business live in a decent 2 bedroom flat at an affordable price if people didn't build it? Or will they be able to use their first salary to suddenly buy land and build house within one month of working? So, if you read a little through their comments you find it does not make any sense and perhaps the only sense in it is the jealousy of seeing people building their own dream homes while they couldn't build their own. So it's a question of if "I" don't own it, nobody else should. I get the need to get industries in the SE. But the big part of solving that misery is CAPTIVE POWER. Many Igbo industrialists go to Ogun state because Obasanjo made sure gas pipeline and other sources of power for an industrialist were installed there. We must have industrial cluster and get people to lay gas pipelines or provide dedicated power to the area before meaningful industrial takeoff can be achieved. The FG will not do this for the SE and infact will create numerous obstacles for those trying to do it. It is the State governments that must partner with these companies and use the apparatus of government to get the necessary approvals for the companies to solve the power puzzle. Enugu Electricity Development Company has been a thorough failure. So using the existing grid to power these new industrial clusters cannot even be contemplated. Therefore, these companies will have to lay their own underground cables from the power stations to the industrial clusters or layouts they want to power. Finally, since it has been proven that houses can run 100% on renewable rooftop solar power, we should begin to encourage that revolution as the boreholes revolution solved the issue of waiting for ever for government to provide portable water. Ways to manufacture the roof-top solar panels and inverter batteries locally should be massively encouraged by government. Luckily IBETO already has battery manufacturing technology that can be expanded to make bigger home install-able inverters and INNOSON and other industrialists should be encouraged to go into high quality roof-top solar panel manufacturing to solve home and small businesses electricity problems. Hopefully in the very near future, we can have every house in our cities and villages with these 4-6 solar panels on roof top to supply 100% of their electricity needs than buying fuel guzzling generators. Banks can help finance these for small businesses and they will use money to pay for fuel generators to payback the bank loans. That will be a game changer in helping small businesses..

Buhari is running out of blaming options to keep Nigerians distracted from his gross incompetence. Even Osinbajo and Lai Mohammed are finding it hard to manufacture lies to please Buhari. Let the sham of ruling a country with mere lies and propaganda from our president continue.

Cooly100:Truth is that some people are just always filled with envy and bitter feelings towards anyone they perceive are doing better than them. I love that many diaspora Igbos now see investing in Igboland as something worth doing unlike in the past when they ran away like there were evil spirits in Igboland chasing them away from investing in whatever way. If it's houses some like to build, let them build! I prefer people coming to invest in power generation (Captive power) used for just one city or one industrial complex. Build solar panel factories so that houses and businesses can generate power independent of the grid. But for now the people coming in want to build houses to address the housing crisis. Our people are gradually seeing the need to have something in their home state than having 200% of their investment outside and not even 1% of their investment at home. Therefore, it is good that some are building at home now. At the minimum, it creates jobs for the youths that will sell the cement, the rods, those that will be brick-layers, carpenters, plumbers etc. With time, those of them with factories will begin to relocate too. The big disadvantage the SE contends with is lack of power allocated on the national grid to SE. It won't even sustain just the factories in Emene, not to mention Onitsha, Aba and other areas. Therefore, there is need to build industrial clusters with mini-power generating outfits to serve them. This is where the various state governments need to be proactive to get licences for these companies and just ask the private companies to build the infrastructure and manage the selling of electricity to industrial complexes in the zones to help them manufacture competitively. |
I love how this business center is using solar energy to get 24 hours electricity instead of buying generators and struggling for fuel everyday. Only 3-4 solar panels can carry an air-conditioning unit and i'm sure he has a refrigerator and fans and light bulbs. It will take almost a Lister generator to carry all those and it will still be very noisy and drinking a lot of diesel everyday. The idea of every house having it's own electricity supply away from NEPA and generator is an idea that should be embraced for us to provide our own power like we provide boreholes for our own water. .

The ONLY reason you accuse Jonathan is that YOU HAVE FAILED WOEFULLY TO GROW THE ECONOMY OR MAKE NIGERIA PROSPEROUS AS YOU PROMISED. Buhari started his Presidency with incompetence of waiting One year to appoint Ministers. When he finally did, he still appointed former rogue governors and friends as Babachir & Bako et al., to come and steal more. Then he embarked on extended oversea trips and later hospital admission without allowing Osinbajo to run Nigeria. Today, the litany of bad decisions are showing on everything in Nigeria. To cover up for their crass incompetence,... Blame GEJ or blame Phee Dee Phee. As if that changes the fact that Nigerians have suffered terribly from an incompetent President. Let the silly blame game continue for one more year ![]()

Cooly100:I like the hotel, except that they could have made a little effort to plant flowers and palm trees around the environment. Interior and furnishing is fantastic. But Furnishing a room alone while the entire environment looks like middle of a desert is just a mindset our people must learn to change. The trees and the flowers for a conducive environment is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the concrete floors, paint and furnishing. |
Buhari will soon ask Osibanjo or Lai Mohammed to say the project was earmarked by IBB, the money chopped by GEJ and he had to borrow money from IMF to do it. You know these guys are shameless liars and they have no respect for truth. ![]()

Buhari is just a shameless fraud. He has condoned corruption more than any President in history of Nigeria by declaring the if you steal money and move to APC you will not be disturbed. Remember Obasanjo fired his IG for corruption. GEJ dropped ministers who had one scandal or another. Buhari is a disaster to Nigeria. But Nigerians deserve who they voted for. They simply steal money and distract Nigerians by claiming one lie or another on Jonathan.

arinzeejikonye:This must be Naira triangle more than 20 years ago before it's reconstruction. I just hope a nice public park finally emerges from there before the land is sold for houses. |
Police don become Ajebutter in Anambra No more standing on the road or using Okada to transport themselves. Theses vehicles means they are mobile and therefore, no need to mount road blocks anymore. They should dismantle the primitive road blocks and patrol like modern police in sane countries. |
Buhari seeking international recognition desperately since Bill Gates openly revealed to the world that he is a confirmed DULLARD! ![]() ...and does not care if his people live or die. But he wants all sorts of Charities to do what a responsible government should be doing for it's people. The world has seen the corrupt impostor ruling Nigeria that only knows how to sweet talk to deceive people, but will keep none of his promises.

Ecstasy154:Thank God for Atiku!!! Thank God he finally declared! It's a great day that we have a credible candidate at last! OBJ may not like Atiku, but we need somebody to save Nigeria from the dangerous slide of herdsmen and looming civil war. Nigeria MUST be saved from tyrants! Atiku must know there isn't much time left to begin building a national consensus and make Nigeria one country again. Buhari is banking on the disorganized opposition to win. That would be a massive tragedy for Nigeria! Buhari's next move is to suddenly find N500 trillion in Atiku's bank account or buried in his farm. Shameless Tyrant.

I am Still Patiently waiting for Buhari to say EFCC found N100 Billion Thrillion dollars hidden in Gen. Danjuma's toilet which was given to him by Phee-Dee-Phee ! Buhari is truly a shameless disappointment.

Great news. There are Igala speaking communities in Anambra state. Besides, Igbos and Igalas have a very long history of fruitful relationship. Story of Nnebisi, the Igala prince is still very modern history of this relationship before the colonials arrived. It was the abominable Nigeria that put Igala in Northern Nigeria to create an artificial division. |
Buhari regime will go down as the most ridiculous liars ever to rule Nigeria! |
Those whose only business is to create disparity between normal exchange rate and artificial exchange rate imposed by CBN are already working round the clock to create another situation where they can take the foreign currency from the banks and sell to black market. Another round of self inflicted economic crisis is looming. Just like when Buhari and CBN stubbornly stuck to N198 exchange rate and almost ruined the economy because the black market had the true exchange rate of N400. The only way to have a strong currency is to build your manufacturing sector and stop piling debts on the country. Nigeria has done neither. |
All these Boko Haram liars. Let Buhari publish when Gen TY Danjuma did ethnic cleansing like him. TY Danjuma served Nigeria gallantly unlike Buhari and his lootocracy. Next they will claim Danjuma kept looted money under his pillow or GEJ gave Danjuma money. Shameless government

Cooly100:Judging from the scarcity of decent houses, When it comes to Estates, there are not too many in Enugu. Infact, Enugu needs to have about 5 times more estates to address the housing crisis. It is abominable that you can earn more in Lagos or PH, yet pay more for decent housing in Enugu. Where will folks get that type of money to pay rent? Enugu seriously needs 5 times more estates and more 3-5 storey buildings |
@op, Abooki, go and rest with your useless blame Jonathan for lies and distract Nigerians from Buhari's looting & bad governance Let Buhari publish his evidence and arraign Jonathan for the offenses if they are real. Bloody charlatans lying like Lai Mohammed.
|
Nigerians should begin to organize themselves to defend their lands. Invaders have declared war on Nigerians and if you continue to pretend about the war of the herdsmen, you and your entire family shall be consumed by them. |
HiddenShadow:Don't mind them. They are only manufacturing useless excuses to justify their deliberate ploy to starve the zone of petroleum products. Let them publish the pipelines repaired in every zone and we will see which zones vandalize pipeline. SMH! |
BUHARI will no succeed in bulldozing the democratic structures on Nigeria. We shall resist him as we resisted the other anti-democratic forces such as Abacha. |
If you noticed, every house in the picture now has it's own water supply overhead tanks. Just as the issue of portable water in homes have been solved by the revolution of digging your own boreholes and using water pumps to pump into over head tanks. Use of Inverters (Household batteries) + Roof-top solar panels = 24 hours constant electricity without buying fuel for generator! Nigerians must look into making your own power through abundant solar energy we are blessed with, instead of buying generators. The issue of constant electricity for homes must be solved by revolution of Roof-top solar panels. Everybody with a private home such as these houses in the picture should strive to invest in roof-top solar panel than buying noisy generators and going through the headache of fueling them every night or staying in darkness because of EEDC palava. Enugu state government should partner with companies interested in building local solar panel manufacturing factories in Enugu to supply the entire region. These are the types of cutting edge investment the state can help such investors set up smoothly in Enugu to create very good paying jobs. Solar panels will be the next goldmine for people that are smart enough to find ways to make them very cheap and easily installed on rooftops on buildings.
|
spyder880:I like this topic because we already know that in Nigeria, you must provide your own water. Therefore, a solid plan of where to hang tanks and done in a smart way that water can easily flow from gravity to service the building water forcets and toilets is as important today as building the house itself. I think it is better to hang a medium weight tank on the building about 500 gallons only. If a way of getting up there to fix broken joints or leaking tank is easily factored into design of the building, then mounting the tank (Just 500 gallons) on the building will be a great and smart move. But, making sure a hole exists in the decking where one can easily climb up there with a small ladder to fix the plumbing issue quickly must be provided if not it's not a good idea to put a leaking tank up there and let it leak for years without doing anything about it. More importantly, builder should begin to revolutionize Rooftop Solar panels in Nigeria to help solve the electricity crisis in Nigeria and produce clean renewable electricity. Solar panels will be the next goldmine for factories that will go into local production of high quality panels in Nigeria.

Enugu, an expert pictureThis is why some people who have plotted to keep Eastern Nigeria in the stone age since they were born always have heart burn. How did these Igbos manage to survive all these oppression and wickedness? They forget that nobody is God. Now their target is to gradually annex Igbo properties in the former capital of Nigeria and far north. People like Nestoil, Instead of putting your life's investment in a hostile environments where you will be taxed to death, why not go to Abidjan, Accra or Nairobi and do the same investment? Those running deep into Sambisa to set us a business, should simply go to Burkina Faso, Bamako,Dakar or Banjul, Niamey or Ndjamena instead of staying in Zamfara and killed as a political target? The only Igbos i pity are the ones that are deceived by the fake doctrine "One Nigeria" and have relentlessly continued to hang on to the title of "unwanted developers" in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Kaduna who have REFUSED to heed the hand writing on the wall. When it finally blows hot as Nigeria will inevitably blow, i would watch them cry from losing everything they worked so hard for and i will have little or no pity. Unless they can invent a vehicle to carry their landed properties. A fly that enters the grave with a corpse committed suicide out of stupidity and should not blame anybody for it's misfortune - Igbo Proverb.

They should learn to plant trees and flowers in along all major roads Owerri! Roads are good to expand, just as it is imperative to ensure trees and flowers are also planted to give the proper ambiance. Owerri used to be the garden city with so much trees and flowers along median and both sides of major roads. I completely oppose the practice of cementing the median of roads. But if it must be done, then both sides of those roads must have trees planted. Building roads without proper trees and vegetation cover makes the whole place look like Sudan.
