Nice one from the police

They should try to get the culprit

These criminals will surely be caught if they put an ear to the ground for underground gossip, and very soon too. It's very likely that they live, work/or are familiar faces in that neighbourhood.
Politics / Re: Edo Youths Protest Against SARS In Front Of Oba Of Benin's Palace (Video) by clearsight: 10:27pm On Oct 06, 2020
About time! Some of these people engage in robbery and kidnapping all over the place. A lady I know disclosed that her niece was picked up in Agege last week by some SARS guys in a yellow vehicle immediately after she made an ATM transaction. They had been lying in wait near the bank to pick up anyone who seemed to have made sizeable transaction (who knows if they had insider info). Fortunately, it was a transfer and not a withdrawal that she made. She was also fortunate that she was able to scream and alert passers-by who described the vehicle to her relations and they went looking for her. She was taken to a police station, phone seized, shaken down, beaten and ordered to make a false confessional statement which she refused to do. She met some other unfortunate victims there who were tortured and robbed of their cash and forced to empty their accounts. Her lawyer boss and relations were eventually able to trace her and get her released after they parted with some money.

I found it rather unfortunate that her boss and relations like so many other victims, took the easy way out and refused to go to the media, expose that police station or take the matter up in court.

Nairaland / General / Re: Transparent Glass Public Toilet That Becomes Opaque When Occupied In Tokyo(Pics) by clearsight: 7:18pm On Aug 28, 2020
Explorers:
A Japanese designer has unveiled transparent public toilets with glass walls that become opaque when they are occupied.

Acclaimed architect Shigeru Ban came up with the idea which he said was intended as a practical way to allow users to check for cleanliness as well as whether the toilet was occupied or not.

Cool invention, but it won't be funny if it suddenly malfunctions and makes a user inside visible from the outside before he/she realises it!

See my omoluabi guys making waves everywhere they go.

God bless you Mr Dayo (Principal) for your giant stride in making sure minorities also have the opportunity of getting admitted to the prestigious Oxbridge universities in such huge numbers.

Last year was 41 students while this year it increased to 51 admissions into Oxbridge institutions.

I won’t stop without saying YORUBA LAGBA!

These bright, young kids have done Nigeria proud. Period. We can do without the focus on tribe/ethnicity.

finally I'm leaving this hell hole since Feb I have been trapped

Nigeria is covered during this Covid period - God listens to the cry of the poor masses who feel cheated. Just as we have many wicked people (kidnappers, ritualists, callous leaders, etc), so also do we have many who have the ear of the Lord.; yes many of her citizens are careless and even unbelieving of the virus; truth be told, many have fallen ill and recovered without even realising that they ever had it; it's unexplainable but this country is still the best place to be at this time, despite all her shortcomings! Those who cannot travel out, pls. continue to count your blessings and may the virus never locate you and yours!

Wow Even shekau. shocked .surprise surprise

Shekau agrees with the judgement. What he's condemning is giving the man the chance to repent and appeal:

“He should just be killed. If you really sentenced him, we should only hear that you slaughtered him,” he said.
Health / Re: Russia Receives Orders For ONE BILLION Doses Of World’s First Covid-19 Vaccine by clearsight: 12:50pm On Aug 12, 2020
chrisblack:
that's not true. The issue with the Russian vacancine is that proper standard as regards clinicay trials were not properly followed.it was rushed in other for them to claim first. This is a fact even the WHO.is worried about.please check the timeline. The issue and fear is over the next phase of the virus evolution would the so called vaccine help or further worsen the situation we don't know .there are no proper verifiable data as regards the Russian claim. They skipped various stages of trials ,which are very important ones.My point is Africans should be very careful in jumping on these claim.

True: this vaccine may have serious and irreversible side effects which may not be evident now because trials were rushed.

Family / Re: Need Your Advice On What To Do About My Late Sister Children by clearsight: 2:55pm On Aug 02, 2020
bestmutiu2019:
please don't mind my bad English, please I need you to help me or advice me on what to do before I kill someone.
My name is ade second to last born in a family of 5,my mum first and second born were male follow by a girl then me and my jnr bro that is ma mum last born
The only girl of my family that is my sister married a guy this guy is so rude and mannerless I don't know maybe it was because of the little money he has, fast forward they had their first born a boy, then two years later my sister gave birth to twins she deliver the first one by herself then CS for the second one,as Almighty Allah pleases my sister died the 3rd day she gave birth to her twins that is November 2017.
Although my late sister husband lost both his parents so those little girls are with my mum she has been taking care of them since then,so one issue arise when one prophet told my mum that they should do this 1,1. tribal marks for those little girls to prevent their late mother from disturbing them in which my late sister husband decline,he came back the 3rd day September 29 2019 that he has come to claim these little girls that he has already paid for their boarding school that they are going to boarding school, twins that is not up to 2 years, meanwhile their first born is not staying with him a boy of 4 years old he says that he should go and be staying with one of his street uncle.
We accept these little twins started their boarding school in the neighboring state, like two months after then when mum go and visit the twins at the boarding school, they says my mum did not have any right to visit these twins because of the instructions their father gave them,my mum cried like say tomorrow no dey.

Meanwhile the first born that is staying with his street uncle he also order that man not to let any of us to see him.
PLEASE I NEED YOUR ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO,I TOLD MY SENIOR BROTHER TO TAKE ACTION THEY COME UP WITH NOTHING,PLEASE I NEED YOUR ADVICE,COS I CAN KILL THIS MAN

You cannot blame your in-laws for being afraid of your family; I mean in this day and age, how could you even consider defacing those 2 innocent girls? You have to really convince their father that your family means no harm and you have do so diplomatically. Violence will never solve anything.

Politics / Re: Diekolola Olatanwa Osa-Avielele Dies After Birth Of Son In US by clearsight: 7:12pm On Aug 01, 2020
adioolayi:
So sad..RIP.

There is a very thin line between life and death, especially during childbirth. Escaping maternal mortality is sometimes beyond having best medical care...if this happens in Nigeria, I know some people will be attributing it to failed health system...this is USA for crying out loud.

May God in His infinite mercy grant pregnant lady/women reading this the grace to deliver safely without complications. Amen.

Pure bad luck, 'cos she probably had the best of medical care. Cold comfort to her husband/loved ones but at least the baby survived which may not have been the case if she delivered in Nigeria. RIP.

The Yorubas of Nigeria greet all women who have successfully passed through childbirth as having passed through the valley of death; yes, it's a natural process/journey but they never forget that it's one from which some women do not return, even with the best medical care. RIP Nicole Thea.

Let Falana sue; he's an insincere 'activist' whose hands are not clean with regard to kickbacks. He has also used this same EFCC to hound some of his colleagues behind the scenes, and we now know how come. His chickens have simply come home to roost.
