I think it is exclusively for scholarship applicants.
I have seen another person claiming they got appointment through mail booking
Can you at least confirm this with a screen shot it will go a long way in helping us understand something, did they rebook?

A scholarship student? this are some irregularities in the mail...aside the dot, something was cleared and was changed to list A in the first circle, why is the Consulate spelt as CO while others are Co...let's even forget the winsim cause I don't know what that is, I am nor doubting but let's not just jump into conclusion about this.

Guys how can u be able to be getting a letter of presence while u haven't gotten an appointment from the embassy, I studied the German universities website and they said, u can only be able to get an extension letter or letter of presence when u have gotten appointment with the embassy in your country.

So am surprised to see some of us here bragging to have gotten an extension letter and letter of presence.
some university sends it without you asking, like earlier said it depends on your school

This has been long overdue, it's been 4 months, we have been successfully managing evacuation flights, so why cant we resume and limit the amount of flight per week, India with over a million cases resumed international flight this week, the federal government should open the international airspace, and subject those coming in to a 14 day quarantine or covid 19 test. They can't keep closing the economy when Nigeria makes a lot from the aviation industry...Most embassies aren't working cause of this, family members are stranded, foreign currency inflow has reduced, job losses... We should do the right thing for the good of all citizens.

Travel / COVID-19: FG Begins Plans To Resume International Flights by clintonsparkz(m): 7:09pm On Jul 24, 2020
The Federal Government has said being conscious of the significant contributions of air travels to economic growth, it has began plans to push for a safe resumption of international flights.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the PTF, Boss Mustapha, made the disclosure at Thursday’s briefing in Abuja.

He explained that the Aviation sector has been working assiduously to develop the protocols for the resumption of international air services.

The SGF added that aviation regulators are to engage with other stakeholders to facilitate an integrated and seamless resumption of international flights.

Mustapha said: “This PTF remains conscious of the significant contributions of air travels to economic growth and shall continue to push for a safe resumption. The next phase is for aviation regulators to engage with other stakeholders to facilitate an integrated and seamless resumption of international flights. I plead with all Nigerians to await authentic information from the aviation authorities and discountenance fake news and speculation on dates.”

He said high profile persons testing positive to the virus confirms its no respecter of persons.

“For the first time since the PTF commenced the regular briefing, we had to postpone the briefing for Monday 20th July, 2020. On Sunday 19th July, 2020, the dangers that our frontline workers face on a daily basis was forcefully brought to our consciousness, when the tweet from the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs who is a member of the PTF, went viral. That singular piece of information in the public space is sufficient proof to Nigerians that the virus is real and does not discriminate.”

He assured that the regular testing of members of the PTF for COVID-19 would be sustained, adding “We will however not lower our guards for any reason because the nation cannot afford to shut down its response.”

The SGF said the PTF might consider restructuring the mode of delivering some of its activities, relying more on technology, to minimize the risks associated with unavoidable physical contacts.

He said: “Since the last time we briefed the nation, global and national developments continue to yield statistics that point at the fact that the virus is still very potent and spreading faster than human efforts can speed to stop it. WHO statistics show that India has joined the United States of America and Brazil in the category of countries that have recorded over one million cases. Cumulatively, 15,403,120 cases have been recorded from 215 countries and territories.

“On the African continent, the cumulative total for Africa has risen to 773, 804 including 16,448 fatalities. Nigeria, with 38,344 cases account for about 5% of the Africa’s numbers. Similarly, Nigeria, with 813 deaths accounts for 5% of fatalities in the continent.

“The message of hope is that the world continues to close its ranks in the search for a vaccine in a manner designed to guarantee rapid, fair, and equitable access worldwide. Back home, there has been a lot of debate on finding a local cure. “While this is a plausible expectation, the PTF, other relevant institutions of government and the private sector working with our partners shall pursue the path of research relentlessly. As we have often said, only a well-developed partnership will save humanity.”

Mustapha reiterated that, its the duty of Nigerians to change their behaviour and scale up their compliance with non-pharmaceutical measures. The best option is to totally avoid contracting the virus by staying safe.”

Mustapha also hinted that the task force will be submitting a set of recommendations at the end of the second week of eased lockdown.

He said: “As we approach the last five days to the end of this eased lock down phase, the PTF shall rigorously evaluate the developments on the basis of emerging data, evolving science, strengthened best practices and improvements in our Risk Communication Strategy. All these will help us form an opinion upon which the next set of recommendations to Mr. President will be based.

“We also have cause to begin to advise Nigerians on the upcoming Eid-El Kabir Festival. This naturally comes with lots of mass gatherings but we must not forget that the guidelines are still in existence and the virus is very potent. We urge all State Governments to ensure that guidelines are adhered to and citizens should not indulge in activities that would allow for the spread of the virus and lives are endangered. We are encouraged by State Governments that have announced ban on Sallah Festivities and hope it will be upheld and replicated by other States.

Why re u guys complaining about international flights.....AD has nothing to do with corona it's just a convinient excuse......getting AD has been hard even before corona. The only thing u guys can do is to be and occupy yourselves either with online studies provided by ur schools or just stay at home.

Nigeria is Nigeria so naming list of countries who re doing things differently is just derailing the value of this thread.
That's because the German embassy said they will resume visa application when Nigeria resumes international flight...that's in contrast with Ghana and kenya which they resumed a long time ago...so that's why people are trying to persuade the FG to resume international flight... Irish embassy are resuming 27th, British 28 and the French too, we can only wait, but it's sad.

So what happens to the UK that has plans to resume visa applications by july 28. Do this people actually do a wide consultations before taking decisions. Closing airspace since March, is international travel less important compared to interstate movement. I think they are so incompetent to handle the situation well enough as other countries have. Nigeria is simply running away from being embarrassed if they fail where little nations have succeeded.

What I have noticed is that the EU embassies are not fully working in Nigeria, if Nigeria can manage repatriation flights why not open the airspace and limit flights to 2 to 3 times a week pending when things get better, the embassies sees the country as a joke, who would work properly in a country that are not sure about themselves, even the October they are not still sure, they are saying it can be extended. The country is just not organised.
Travel / Re: NCAA Extends Ban On International Flights Till October by clintonsparkz(m): 3:22pm On Jul 21, 2020
If Nigeria can manage repatriation flight why can't they manage flights coming in? Can't people coming in undergo the 14 day quarantine or covid 19 test?

Countries like Spain, Italy, UK who have been hit hard by this pandemic has opened their international airspace why not Nigeria?

Most embassies are closed due to the "international flight suspension" how will international students travel, this country take decisions without putting her citizens into consideration.

Am not sure the issue should be the fact that fg have not allow airline to operate. At least last week some people did interview regardless.
Do you know how many embassies has not opened because of this "international flight resumption" . Even the German embassy are using that not to even given as little as date for interview, so as it stands they might start given dates by October or farther sef, cause the suspension of flight is subject to elongation.

Students should be exempted and would probably be part of the "essentials".
Don't be so sure, in this country I don't think students are part of the essentials, who would even open airlines just for students that's if we are part of it... This is a terrible news considering that the embassy said appointments wouldn't be given until international flights opens.

Some people will hate you for saying the truth though. I think Nigerians should forget about Germany for now.

From the current indices and trends, a wise person will be able to tell that the reason why Nigerian government are delaying to announce the reopening of its international airports and flights is because they are scared of the impending embarrassment that awaits them in the international community due to their corrupt method of handling the corona virus outbreak in the country.

Senegal reopened their international airports and EU wasted no time in banning all travelers from Senegal. Senegal returned the favor by banning people from EU countries as well. There is the belief among the Nigerian government that the same scenario is bound to play out once Nigeria announces the reopening of its international airports. Except in Nigeria's case, President Buhari is simply going to turn a deaf ear as usual. Even if the EU doesn't issue an outright travel ban on Nigerians, Donald Trump is going to waste no time in issuing a travel ban on all Nigerian travelers (in his attempt to garner votes from white supremacist Americans during the forthcoming election in America), with EU likely to follow suit afterwards.
This is the major reason why Nigerian govt have not opened international airports. Nigeria has become a dreg among the comity of nations.

This is certainly the worst time to be a Nigerian traveler.
For those who are already depressed and those soon to be, there are OTC antidepressant drugs available in the pharmacy near you. Please don't use this opportunity as an excuse to become alcoholics or drug addicts.
You guys are misunderstanding this stuff, EU ban does not affect students, highly skilled workers, family reunion. These are exempted. These sets must undergo a 14 day quarantine or a covid 19 test, the ban affects those for short stay visa like tourism and visits.

Concerning Senegal, the embassy are going to start receiving applications from early August.

I really don't know why this country hasn't resumed international flight though, we are waiting for information on the German embassy website, in truth it doesn't look too good, considering our numbers...its sad.

Maybe we need to get the attention of the Nigerian envoy to Germany. That might be the next viable option
As long as it concerns us Nigerians, am not interested, a Nigerian will always go against a plan to help them, while doing absolutely nothing to aid the situation. Some guys went on Twitter and people came and condemned it, just in case you guys don't know if it gets to August just be applying for deferment or for summer most especially category B, the percentage of getting AD for winter is getting bleak, so u better know the truth.

Because for Cotonou all you need to do is just to bring all the document and enter for an appointment no booking.

Am not sure if that will work.
The write up said he traveled through Benin, not that he had interview in Benin, he already got the visa in Nigeria.

@ Olig, u may be the type that wait forever for things to take its natural cause, while some others have the potential and the willingness to make changes.

If u were in the US it's very clear that u would have discouraged people from coming out for "black lives matter" protest.

Am sure ur point would have been " is George Floyd the first black to be killed? Blacks should be grateful that the whites are allowing them to stay in the US and if they can't stay they should return to their country". But today the protest has gained ground all over the world. One person started it

Olig, do u think Nigeria students should not be given the same opportunity as their African counterpart to have quality education in Germany?

Is it covid-19 that also made them to hurled appointment date for summer students ie since last year? Or u think is because Nigerian students are not doing well in Germany, Or Nigerian students are the highest number in Germany hence they want to reduce the population.

Olig, the truth is whites don't reason the way u do. They beliv in human right, right to information. If they don't want to give Nigerian students visa anymore, they should come out plain and say it so that people can turn to other countries. And not beign cowardice or fear of unknown consequence as u have displayed.

The tweet is not a provocative one, it is a simple call for them to attend to Nigerian students as we are no longer satisfied with their neglect since prior covid-19 and now. This is not the same as desperation. People deferred admissions from summer to winter.

Please let's be prayerful that consulate resumes on Monday as earlier suggested by someone.

Monday is not far, I equally have this feeling that they will resume soon.

Please let's be together and I believe God will help us in Jesus name
Do you know how many Mondays I have counted? I keep reading the articles on their website and seeing positive things, yet its not applicable to us, I am hoping on Monday, even as at that the hope is still on a small scale, this AD keeps u stagnant, you can't do any meaningful thing cause u don't want to abandon it, you can't even invest self, I am praying Monday is Monday! or next week they will open cause sincerely most people are tired. its mentally draining.
