middlebelter:TSTV HAS CNN! I will say it again in case you are deaf! TSTV HAS CNN!!! Should I repeat myself? Check for yourself here: www.tstvafrica.com/channels.php Its on their "channel 250" Must you ignorant folks use lies to confuse people? Jeez! |
greenhulk:Ignorance is your problem! ![]() BeIn sports has over 12 channels, the TSTV sub of 3K has ALL BeIn sports channels which shows ALL LIVE matches from ALL leagues and ALL european competitions. So stop all the twisted talked you are coming up with. |
Ignorance is what is limiting some Nigerians, and their foolishness is responsible why South African DSTV has been robbing us in broad day light for years! As from October 1st, with 5K you get a TSTV decoder and can watch ALL matches in EVERY football league in the world LIVE! Those agents of doom (DTSV) marketers are saying EPL matches can't be shown blablabla, I laugh! Have you guys heard about the almighty BeIn sports channels? BeIn sports in owned by the media powerhouse Al Jazerra and they have rights to show ALL football leagues and competitions, most matches that my friends can't watch on DSTV they watch them on BeIn sports over here. What is Supersport as compared to BeIn sports please? Have you seen their studio's in France, Saudi and other countries? Big managers like Arsene Wenger, Gaudiola and others regularly go to their studios as pundits during matches and I have watched them a lot. BeIn sports is not Super Sports mate at all! Its our ignorance here in Nigeria that makes us think Super Sports in alpha and Omega. Please Google more about BeIn sports to know more. I have been watching ALL matches in the world with BeIn sports for over 2 years now! TSTV is complete! Sports; tick! News; tick! Documentaries; tick! Movies; tick! Music; tick! Etc; tick! And TSTV comes with pay as you watch meaning you would be paying for what you didn't watch. The icing on the cake is the fact that whenever I'm home watching TV I can switch off my phone network data, connect to the decoder's Wifi and browse and download worth of 20GB for a month? Jeez! TSTV is the best thing to happen to us in this country since jollof rice! ![]() TSTV would send DSTV packing! |
chasom:Stop trying to confuse people please! 5K is for the decoder and first month sub free, subsequent months has 3K as highest sub for a month, they even got daily sub plans. And to enlighten your ignorance, BeIn sports shows ALL live football matches, including EPL! |
Achile1515:Are you for real? Please ask questions before you say crap about things you know little about. These guys have BeIn sports which shows ALL matches in the world LIVE! I have been watching BeIn sports for over 2 years now, and I'm presently enjoying a live match on BeIn sports as I'm typing this. |
DanXplore:If I were you, I'd stick to my present job or pick up the forthcoming FBN job because I'm sure FBN is a more recognised name professionally as compared to where you are working at the moment. The goal of PTDF scholarships is to equip Nigerians with the best post graduate education towards effective human capital development so as to have them come back to further make needed competent addition into the nation's oil and gas industry, so after your M.Sc, you'd find it hard to get a job there or get a visa extension, the goal for anyone who came to the UK through PTDF is for you to return to your home country and contribute to human capital in the oil and gas industry. Except you plan to hypnotise a British girl into loving you madly enough to wanna marry you so you don't have to return to Nigeria You didn't hear it from me please Let's say you go to the UK, after your M.Sc you come back, then what? Do you know the number of people who had M.Sc's before you even registered for your JAMB? The job market is saturated with M.Sc's and not just local but foreign obtained M.Sc degrees. Your present job of 183K is good enough and you should get even higher pay soon once you get promoted, and you are in sales department which has high promotion opportunities. Stick to your job or accept FBN when the time comes, you were complaining about its modest pay, but there are a whole lot of allowances you stand to enjoy as a confirmed staff. |
For "A" - Mompha- It doesn't fit him at all! Looks like he borrowed his elder bro's shirt to wear, over sized! For "B" - Hush- Fits him well, and the shorts creates a cool trendy outlook For "C" - Davido- The shirt fits him, but his usual sagging trousers makes him look like some prisoner ![]() |
Its funny seeing people in the previous pages making a go and bickering over how those who haven't gotten invites for documentation should forget about it and look elsewhere, yeah I know some people didn't state it directly but the subtle ways lots of people ridiculed people hoping for documentation invites all in the name of "telling people the hard truth" is utterly appalling! Well, its not surprising because the average Nigerian feels better when he/she seemingly thinks or presumes he is better than another person and hence why you can see people subtly mocking others who haven't gotten documentation invites. I know my purpose, worth and career goals so such puerile comments have no effect on me, I only feel it for those who don't have a job doing at the moment or holding on tight to hope fully fixed on FBN whom such comments would weigh down. Don't stop hoping, but live as well. I will say it again, there will be more invites for documentation over time, this is not guesswork or me trying to give false hope, the only issue is that some people might wait for a while more than others, quote me anywhere concerning this claim. So guys still expecting should first of all know that by God's grace you'd still get in, and according to FBN plans, admission into training school would come in batches/phases over a long period of time. And also, if at the end of the day you still don't get a chance at working with FBN, don't be in dismay, chase 10,20,30 other jobs with the same zeal and commitment you put it for this FBN job which got you all the way to the assessment center stage and I bet you that you'd get your goal achieved soonest. "Great minds have purposes; others have wishes. Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them." ~ Washington Irving (1783-1859) |
adeinfinit:Go to any INEC local government headquarters and get your TVC, it wouldn't take time and you'd get it printed out to you and laminated. Someone said that during documentation, although NIMC slip was later accepted, the assessors were frowning at NIMC slip being used by some people as only ID card due to the fact that the NIN slip doesn't have your date of birth on it, so better get a TVC as well which has a date of birth on it. |
BukolaSuccess:I would love to meet our Nairaland community in training school as well, it would be nice. By Gods grace we shall make it to training school, you shall, I shall, and everyone else who believes they would make it as well, Amen! |
pyths102:WOW! Big congrats to you bro! Lovely testimonies like yours give the hardworking and competent Nigerian youth hope for a better tomorrow. Thank you for stating the pay as well, as that would clear the air over the discrepancy we were having here over the salary range I stated which others opined that the pay is less. And this would help future candidates who would want to know as well. I wish you a fruitful career bro, go and achieve great feats, meet you at the top! |
pyths102:Well, for sure Deloitte pays higher than First bank entry level, what First bank staff would have better than Deloitte would be the allowances you enjoy with First bank after you are confirmed. Like one of my senior colleague working at First bank always says: "If your eyes are fixed on salary for First bank you might be disappointed but its the allowances that put the icing on the cake" But I tell you that having Deloitte on your CV makes you stand out anywhere, most people start off at places like Deloitte and then cross over after a while to places like banking, oil and gas and get higher management positions in such firms, Deloitte would give you a better springboard in your career pursuits. You said you were offered a role in HR, from your qualifications you are a top notch candidate for Audit unit and not HR, you'd hopefully become chartered soon so I don't see the sense in you being in HR, and you sure know that the fastest growth paths in Deloitte are in Audit or Tax units and not in HR, so if I were you I'd think twice here. That's why from the start of my post I asked if the position at Deloitte is a audit/tax analyst/associate position or not. Why should you become chartered and be working in some boring HR unit? HR at Deloitte is not as juicy as First bank HCMD (Human Capital Management and Development) where trainees look forward to making it into HCMD after training school, HCMD at First bank is like the hot cake place for trainees. The best firm for your career path is definitely at Deloitte but the unit you are being offered at Deloitte doesn't conform with your career path so I think its better to get chattered and finish training school with First bank and then get streamlined towards accounting/auditing management positions in First bank. I don't think you can switch easily from HR to audit in Deloitte, if you can then you can go for Deloitte but if you easily can't then First bank it is. |
dkingskid:To the words in bold, you are very correct! Here in Nigeria, KPMG and PwC are higher in recognition as compared to Deloitte but on the world scene Deloitte is the biggest of the "Big four" in the world, they have the largest revenue and the largest workforce. So I was talking about Deloitte's international recognition. Check more here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Four_accounting_firms You are very correct as well in regards the pressure that comes with working with the Big four, like I earlier said, its a very competitive environment and its for those who want a challenging career and believe they have the capabilities to achieve it. As regards salary, I have heard of tax analysts salaries at Deloitte that come within the range of 2.4M to 2.6M per annum and hence my 210K salary range, it might be not exactly that amount but it would surely be in that region, and for sure Deloitte would pay higher than First bank entry level. Thank you for your addition, you sure have competent knowledge as regards the matter at hand. |
pyths102:First of all, I presume your comparison is between entry level positions like: audit analyst/tax associate positions at Deloitte as compared to First Bank entry level right? First bank is sure one of the best places to have a career in Nigeria but Deloitte stands out above First bank in everything I must say! Deloitte is more internationally recognised and working for a company like Deloitte gives you the privilege of networking with colleagues in other countries like the USA, Europe because you are directly infused as being part of the global workforce. Haven't you ever heard about the "Big four" accounting firms in the world? Namely they are: Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young. Deloitte tops them all and has the biggest revenue and largest workforce in the world. So there is NO COMPARISION in international recognition with First bank. Having "Deloitte" on your CV alone is a sure head-turner in the professional world, go to Switzerland or Holland; Hong Kong or Canada, and mention "Deloitte" and you'd be given attention, but apart from Nigeria, very few people know about First Bank. Deloitte pays more as well, after training school FBN pays around 140K while entry level for Deloitte is at least 180K and increase of salary is WAY FASTER as well as promotions at Deloitte. Also, at Deloitte if you are in audit unit you'd be placed on direct ICAN path and you'd be fully supported financially right from the start to achieve it. At First bank, such only comes at a need basis after appraisals and review of need. Deloitte is more competitive career wise and if you want a real challenge which you think you have the capabilities to achieve then Deloitte is for you. Yes, work stress is higher at Deloitte as you might give away some weekends and all, but Deloitte's awesome holiday plans and work-leisure allowances would surely make up for the extra stress you give in to the competitive lifestyle at Deloitte. Most banks have their auditing done by auditing firms like Deloitte so you should know what that means. Even when you are hearing about stuff like "World richest football clubs" and all, who do you think audits such? You guessed right! - Deloitte is responsible for that. I'm really surprised you are confused here because Deloitte is not on the same level with First bank in anyway, I'm a First bank GT 2017 hopeful but I'd tell you the truth, and if I had the opportunity of getting into any of the "Big four" I wouldn't think twice, circumstances, time et al might make it difficult for me to get an opportunity working with Deloitte like you but no regrets though, I'm still grateful to God for being a First bank GT hopeful because First bank is still one of the best places to work in but you on the other hand have the luxury of even something better, make sure you make the best choice, I wish you all the very best! |
prettyboy5: Cut the dude some slack please!I'd like to congratulate everyone who has gotten documentation invitation, and to those of your who have conducted your AC and not gotten your documentation invite and are already getting a little bit worried, please don't be. Like I said weeks ago, this whole thing would be in batches, and passing the aptitude test was the biggest feat you achieved on your way to working with First Bank, as long as you did your AC to a 50% pass level (which I know at least 75% of us did) you are assured that you would make it into First Academy, the only thing is that the waiting periods would defer between a lot of us, yours truly has not gotten his own documentation invitation yet as well and I'm happy I wasn't selected for documentation this week because I couldn't have made it due to my present engagements. I'm so happy documentation invites have started coming out as planned, this means we are on track again and unnecessary delays have been eliminated. Big congrats again to all my prospective FBN staff who got documentation invites, all the best guys! |
Get little money, and plenty girls would proudly have a baby for you not giving a damn if you marry them. |
See how foreign gene has surpassed black gene for two generations in this family Freeze came out white, his son from a black mom still came out white.Well, as for me, when I was born and found out I was born in Nigeria I was so angry at my parents, I didn't talk to them for 2years! ![]() |
![]() Nigerian celebrities with their usual mocking of people and tagging them as broke, Frank sent a subtle insult by saying the dude can only afford GO TV and the dude fired back with all savagery and creativity!: "It was on full DSTV subscription I heard that you were beating your wife" ![]() And the dude even added Franks present jobless part as well. ![]() |
Not true! Ourmine.org is a internet security (hacking) group in Saudi Arabia that has hacked a lot of social media accounts like those of Mark Zukerberg, CNN and even that of Barcelona FC last week where they posted that Barcelona has signed Di Maria, so how are they a fan of Messi? ![]() Stop these lies, everyone isn't gullible and ignorant please! |
Nice one! Thumbs up! |
Adedayobusayo12:I don't think you have much of an issue, both ages on both WAEC qualify you for the age range for this particular recruitment and combination of results not more than 2 sittings is acceptable. Just submit both WAEC certificates during documentation. |
I so believe the citrus fruits part, while growing up, my mom said I didn't like to eat too much of solid foods but had high proclivity for citrus of all sorts, I remember as an adolescent I would go with my friends to get oranges, grape fruit(citrus), and mangoes as well and I'd store them in the fridge and eat everyday after meals or whenever I feel like. The effect has turned into never been sick ever since I can remember all my life, no malaria, no nothing, and no drugs at all, I detest even the smell of drugs. The only thing I experience sometimes maybe after like 3-5 months is cough/cold or slight headache that might come up sometimes and just a short nap clears everything for the headache. Faithful God I must say. Please give your kids a lot of citrus when they are growing up, it helps ![]() |
Nigerians! What do we really want? If FFK or Fayose come with lots of lies that Buhari is incapacitated or dead in London, lots of people would hail them for the information and all but now that Pastor Adeboye is in London for an event and counts it worthy to see our president they are still complaining. |
dachaste:You are very correct, we uploaded our documents, I totally forgot about that and only thought about the CV's we uploaded on Dragnet's website. That's said, documents submitted during recruitment processes are RARELY discarded, but like I said concerning if the CV he submitted would be referred to during documentation, the documents we submitted MIGHT not be cross-checked over those we would be submitting during documentation, he best bet is having a WAEC certificate and a declaration age handy to present during documentation which shows he was not more than 27 years as at December 2016 as stated for the recruitment requirement. Since he submitted a birth certificate during application, I think there is no need going to get another birth certificate so as not to complicate things with two different birth certificates, that's why my suggestion of getting a declaration of age is still his best bet, the major thing that assessors during documentation would be looking out for towards assessing a candidates' age is your WAEC, the other age related documents are mere formalities; anyone can fake them anytime. So I would repeat that he doesn't return his WAEC original to his sec. school to be returned to WAEC, going for documentation with a letter of explanation from WAEC concerning DOB issues would not be honoured, if they honour such then everyone 35 year old can come for documentation with such a letter from WAEC explaining that there was a mistake and his real age is 25 years. Make sure you go to documentation with that WAEC original, pray and hope for the best. |
MizMyColi I know you are just doing your job as you hype Tecno and get paid but please don't use words that are opposite of what is for offer. "ultra-modern cameras" as said in the article, what's so ultra-modern with a 13PM and 5MP (rear and front) camera? A 13MP Tecno can't stand an 8MP LG or Samsung. And for sure this toy of a phone would run on the crappy MTK right? Wake me up when Tecno starts using Snapdragon chipsets. And before you come telling me how Tecno are making cheap phones for Nigerian markets, please go and check for Xiaomi phones that have the same price range as Tecno and still run on Snapdragon and still exceed Tecno in other specifications. Keep on being robbed by Tecno thinking you are being penny wise. |
bartho77:If FBN calls for documentation and your original WAEC is not available for presentation then you can be sure FBN would not have time to entertain any stories, so if I were you I wouldn't submit my WAEC original through your sec. school. Birth certificates and declarations of age are mere formalities when assessing a candidates age, because anyone can forge it and use whatever age the want. To the best of my knowledge, WAEC is the number one document banks use to assess your age. If I were you this wouldn't have been an issue to me ever since, since the age difference is just two months, I would have just gotten a declaration of age stating the WAEC date of birth and be using it all through my job applications, the stress of getting WAEC to rectify a mistake on DOB has never been easy from the cases I have seen and heard of. And when firms are recruiting, they always watch out for "stories that touch" concerning WAEC to discard candidates with such issues, in most cases, more than 90% of people with claims of WAEC making mistakes on their DOB are usually just lying in order to reduce their real ages. I don't think its wise to take the risk of giving away your WAEC original and presenting a letter from WAEC to FBN concerning the issue, what stops anyone who wants to lie about their age from doing such as well? If firms honour such then everyone can get a letter from WAEC and submit during documentation stating how their DOB is different and all. I'm no authority here but looking at your options, I think the best thing for you to do is go get a declaration of age that rhymes with your WAEC DOB, then during documentation, pray they don't refer to your CV which you submitted during your application stage which I'm sure has your actual DOB, if they don't refer to that CV's DOB then you are cool, but if they do; then still pray and explain to them that it was a typographical error or editing error when you were typing your DOB details on your CV or website for application. Make sure that henceforth you edit your DOB on your CV to rhyme with that on your WAEC. Submitting your WAEC original and waiting for 1 year when you are not even assured of a positive outcome is not worth it, having your professional DOB of just 2 months difference which you would be using is not bad. After all some people just picked their own DOB's because their parents couldn't remember the actual date. Its not a crime to say you have misplaced your birth certificate or if you don't have any as the case may be, and that's why declaration of age is valid as well. So using a declaration of age and a WAEC certificate is enough for verification of your age. If you like submit the most authentic birth certificate that was signed by Dr Ben Carson himself or declaration of age gotten 20 years ago signed by the Attorney General of the federation himself, as long as you don't have a WAEC to back up the ages on either the declaration of age or birth certificate then as they say: "you are on a long thing!" Banks for one don't play with age at all! So don't play around with banks when it comes to your WAEC DOB. I remember back then when we went for an open aptitude test for 2:2 and above candidates for a contract position at Access bank, the only document they wanted to see for the first stage was WAEC, not even Degree or NYSC certificate just yet. I almost asked myself if it was an office messenger position I was applying for ![]() |
RAY12345:Just running through my mentions now and saw your post, sorry I'm replying now, I must have had my hands full with mentions back then and I missed replying you. Well, to your question; FBN continuously trains staff on a need to know and improvement basis, this exercise forms part of appraisal marks to be awarded during year end performance rating. The heads of branches or departments recommend staff for training if a knowledge gap or improvement need is identified. Educational and career advancement is also encouraged. FBN sees the bank's employees and workforce not just as a resource but also a capital in which it is a necessary tool for the bank's business to excel. |
chudionu58:Yeah yeah, meaning more good news for new GT hopefuls like us. I'm not trying to make anyone feel happy or something but the fact is that the toughest part of your journey to working with FBN was scaling through that aptitude test and making the 12% mark that were invited for AC. Because you'd need to perform VERY poorly in the AC (which I know most wouldn't) for you not to be invited to training school over time. The only issue here is that we would have different times for invitation to training school, some might wait for 6 months after others have been invited. And then now that AC had been kept on hold for some candidates it means those affected would wait a little longer. They weren't deceiving us when they told us during AC that FBN has the capacity to employ all 2,500 candidates that were invited for AC. |
kolawoleoladipo:I heard september 2017 (i.e for those who have completed their AC), I even wish it was earlier if I must confess, but now with all these delays in completing AC for everyone things are so unpredictable. FBN HCMD can still change whatever date they want though, but the initial set out time for this years' GTP was set at November 2017 for training school for first batch of invited candidates. |
ezzo09:Bro I'm not trying to scare you, I'm only prepping us to be prepared for the task ahead because training school isn't all fun and ice cream, the environment is lovely and all, the food is super great but you'd be purposely stressed to extreme levels intellectually and you'd be expected to pass over 30 courses by 70% at least. The task ahead is great but achievable! |
brownsucre1:At the words in bold; very correct! It happened in the previous recruitment, some people were invited to training school a year after the first and second batches were invited . My source told me that of course this years GTP would have slots in training school coming in batches, so if you have not done your AC yet, be ready to wait more, that's the bitter truth you have to swallow. I think FBN usually doesn't like inviting all qualified candidates at once to training school because of the fact that they want to have time to replace trainees who would fail along the way with those on the waiting list, that way it would be a continuous process of trainees passing through the training school till they get the number they need for that year's GTP recruitment. To all training school hopefuls like myself, yes FBN training school is like a dream luxury of a place to be and all but a lot of hard work is ahead, we would be writing over 30 courses and pass mark is 70% for each! |

Cut the dude some slack please!
