Crime / Re: Pablo Escobar's Nephew Finds £14million Cash In A Wall In One Of His Houses by cluewebhost(m): 6:27am On Sep 25, 2020
There are potholes and really dirty places in the UK and US too.

Same as there are really clean places without potholes in Nigeria.

Chai How I wish I could find 14 million at one of my people's place. I go just take am leave this country cry .

Abeg if the police aren't using the money they should give it to me embarassed .

MODIFIED: For those telling me to stay in Nigeria I would like to say that it's not only the money that matters but also the place where it is spent. For example why would I stay in Nigeria with all our bad roads and traffic and be satisfied with the fact that I have 14 million. When I can just go to US or UK where the roads are good, the environment is clean and I'll still be much richer than the average person. After all 14 million dollars is not small money.

Education / Re: School Birthday Will Make Your Child Greedy by cluewebhost(m): 6:18pm On Sep 24, 2020
Your child would resent you for a long time for this.

Keeping it won't force you to give the same or even celebrate when it's your turn if you don't want to.

Teach your children to be confident and comfortable in the midst of plenty not intimidated because you sound really intimidated

08089473940. Add me up.

I want a volvo but peeps keeps discouraging me. I like the xc90 but friends are shouting about fuel maintenence and affordability and availability of its spare parts. I want to be educated about the car and I hope to buy one before end of September, God willing.

The same people that were discouraging me before I got mine want to buy the same car now.

The parts (apart from body parts -- do comprehensive insurance) are cheap and available (can always be waybilled by night bus from Lagos if not in your area),

If you buy a good one you'd only do routine maintenance for a long time (use recommended fluids)

I don't pay attention to fuel when I drive so no idea but I don't buy much more than when I use a 4cyl car,

Car is built like a tank and really solid,

Buy the one with the 3.2l engine, it has a lot less complaints online and co.

If your friends never used the car before trying to put it down their opinions don't matter.

Why am I seeing this car everywhere I look? Is God telling me to buy Volvo? Or my village people are trying to revisit my long abandoned matter?

Same way I kept seeing it till I got one,

What if the underminers have no reason to travel to the US?

Restricting them from owning US assets or transacting with US businesses would hurt more.

Hi guys, my Camry 10 cranks high and rough especially at cold starting and later idles smoothly. Pls what's the cause.

My car does same thing, high but not rough though.

It's a feature and written in the owner's manual, according to them to meet emissions requirements.

Did that before asking,

You'd need high definition photos to see what's in the the 1cm wide line clearly.

Not to worry checked a couple similar cars and there are a couple plastic pieces missing I'd look for next week.

Thanks for the plug,

Met Austin,

According to him the car is built to be waterproof even if submerged so we have to take seats and front mats off then pour water on the car and observe.

That would be a next week adventure, parking under a car port till then

Assuming all your drain tubes are clear, Its possible you to have a leak on the windshield, was it ever replaced?

Is there meant to be a rubber seal/gasket all around the windscreen?

I'm just noticing I don't have one and no similar car around to check but my other car and others around have it.

I agree with above poster.

SUV's are heavy.

Their weight alone consumes fuel.

Yes, although, I got the water inside on the pld windscreen the day before it was replaced too.

Who would test for the windscreen leak? A panel beater?

Did it start after the water issue?

Yes I'm suspecting it did.

Because the I used both the seat and 12v socket,

Then seat was loosened,

Then water issue

Then seat re-installed and both weren't working.

Is it possible water can come in through the cover of the immo box?

The other drainage issues have been resolved but it rained heavily last night and the alarm went off, radio started playing, etc.

There is water on the CEM again.

I called a volvo person this morning and he has no idea were else it can be coming from too.

what do you need the engine serial for?

use your VIN for registration and whatever it is you are trying to do

Unless you are ready to pull out your engine you are on a long thing, its stamped on the engine block underneath and also on a sticker under the timing belt cover

Oga calm down.

Have you checked the fuses? open the fuse box beside the steering wheel and look at the fuses if they are still ok

no dey too screwdriver and spanner happy o.

- Ah, I'd use the VIN jare.
I was asking because I've had a car where I used the VIN as engine number and I kept being delayed by our "friends" on interstate trips when using it.

- I've checked all the fuses and they're okay, there's a 25a fuse by the door and 5a fuse under the dashboard that controls it, I checked them even replaced to be double sure but no difference.

Okay problem 2 (or 3?)

xc90 3.2l

The passenger power seat controls and 12v socket on the dash no longer work.

They worked perfectly before.

Googling tells me that there is a relay inside the immobilizer box that needs to be replaced (no courage to go there)

Anyone experienced this before?

Also where is the Engine serial number located in the 3.2l?

Doing small DIY would couple the car soon and go sort the trans issue out.

Blockage solved grin

That drain under the windscreen was blocked totally with mud, allowing water to sit which was getting into the screws over the Immo box without gaskets.

I've unblocked one and drying out the Immo box,
Unblocking the other then I'd pour the 2nd bucket of water to see if water still gets in the footwell.

I didn't find the gaskets so I kazeemized them using the rubber from some old suspension parts and my drill

Seems I'd have to go get who'd take off my mats and clean out all the water under

This is turning to DIY Saturday grin

So I've loosened the wiper motor and that black plastic cover over the Immo box,

2 of the screws are without the rubber gasket.

I'm suspecting the water in on the immobilizer box might be as a result of these missing gaskets.

I'd go to the parts market now if I can find them.

Then look for who can unclog those drainage holes I found under the windscreen I feel when water collects there it rises and pours into that big air intake (or so) and floods the passenger compartment from there.

I loosened the wipers and plastic panel under the windscreen and can see this puddle.

It seems the drain there is blocked, causing a puddle to stand which might be causing the water to get into the passenger compartment?

Immo box is inside the car, under the dash below the steering wheel

I've seen the immobilizer box and there's water on it.

Okay I've opened the roof water passage (going from sunroof to sidewall (loosened that panel with the handle) and they aren't blocked, or blocked anymore, I blew air through to be sure on both sides.

I forgot to test with water before doing it but the water I pour on the roof now drains to the ground.

Could it be coming in through windscreen?

valarinz:

Get a panel beater to clear your roof water passage, it's most likely blocked by debris, reason why water enters your car via the frame.

What i think you should do now is get the immobilizer box out and blow it dry, then fix the water leakage and hope no permanent damage has already occurred to the immobilizer

Thanks a lot!!

I'd go and look for a panelbeater now.

The immobilizer box is the one I'd have to loosen the wipers to get to?
Culture / Re: About The Surnames Of Rivers State Indigenes by cluewebhost(m): 10:18am On Sep 05, 2020
MrOjay1:
I've noticed the for a long time now that many Rivers state indigenes bear westernized surnames like Blankson, Douglas, Perricosta, Souza, Graham, Peterson, McColumbus, etc.

I have seen indigenes of Rivers who bear the above listed surnames alongside other ones too numerous to mention. Was there any kind of foreign culture influx in Rivers State that influenced these surnames?? Or have they just been bearing these kind of surnames right from inception?

I need opinions on this.

Missionaries and traders first landed here and locals would usually take their names as a sign of friendship (I wonder why Europeans didn't take the names of the locals).

You'd notice the same in some Lagos names too.
