The Camry 'muscle' is not a perfect car but it's still a very good buy the fact that it burns oil doesn't make it unreliable. The melting dashboard is aesthetically unpleasing however little, low cost fixes can be made like wrapping the dash in leather or just placing a ready made well tailored mat on it.

Imagine another brand had these issues.

Nobody would make excuses for it, straight to slaughter.

No unexplained wires in the engine bay?

It's usually better to replace auto transmissions but you should be sure that's your only problem

These ones na still theoretical analysis, practicality will grossly differ.

Majority of us can't afford new cars, we buy used cars from abroad, cars wey the battery fit don dey their final lap

Take the current ice engines for eg, all their paper values never work here, we never get those their mpg values on naija roads (due to a variety of reasons), we don't have good running engines mostly(majority of cars on naija road are running with CEL on), Shocks and suspensions are also mostly dead. It's a nightmare.

Don't use the theories the whites post upandan to predict how it'll be for us over here, we're on a totally different level

We would find a way,
With copper wire, husband and wife glue and inshallah.

Cars that are irreparable or cost too much to repair in the US come here and spend another 15 years.

Highest innoson would start making engines to fit in the cars after all Dangote refinery can't waste.


When our only option left is to buy electric in maybe 20/25 years we would find a way around it.

Sad that given the peculiar situation my darling country find ourselves in, it means we will certainly have to strike out Volvo from the list of cars that we can import and use here very soon. We never fit power our TV sets and laptops easily, come be cars.

Electric is all we would have to buy in a few years and the range on these things is above 2-300 miles on a full charge (I barely do 25 miles to and from work daily so a full charge might last me maybe 2 weeks) and this range should increase with tech.

We would cope.

I recently gave out my Peugeot & so I have a couple of accesories I didn't get around to using which are all for sale.

1.) Remote (2 button) Key case - In case your key case is worn out

2.) Complete Remote Keys - You can add these as a spare to remotely lock and unlock the car and also to start the engine. You must have your old 4 digit key code for this to work.

If you have a Peugeot with the RD4 radio (photos attached)

The Blaupunkt/VDO RD4 radio comes with Peugeot 207's from 2006, Peugeot 307, 307SW, 407, 407SW, 607, 807, 1007 from 2005, Peugeot 307CC's from 2004 and the Peugeot Expert, 308, 4007 from 2007.

I'm sure once or twice while selecting input source you might have seen the AUX option & wondered where the Aux port to plug your phone is?

I used a Peugeot with that radio from brand new for 12 years straight & also come across that and was able to activate that function after a lot of research.

The RD4 radio comes with AUX capability and even a port behind where you can plug in the AUX cable.

To activate this function:

1.) Purchase the RD4 Aux Cable
2.) Disconnect your battery (make sure you follow the battery disconnection procedure in the manual) then Pull out the radio (the cable comes with radio removal tools)
3.) Plug in the 12 pin socket of the Aux cable in the hole behind the radio (right next to the power socket) labelled Part B on the diagram below
4.) Put the radio back in & reconnect your battery
5.) Plug in your Diagbox scanner and activate the AUX function on your radio with it.


That's all!

You can now freely use the AUX function.

Since it's in Ladipo u can look for a Toks of the same car, pop the bonnet and trace all the wiring.

Start with the engine fuse box and bsi and replace any fuse bridged with copper wire.

Doing this is going to expose all the problems the previous owner refused to solve but if you can get the electrical system back to factory you'd enjoy the car for years ( I had a 307 12 straight years, spent far less on fuel and mechanics than my corolla counterparts, only gave it out a few months back because someone I gave it to for a few months messed it up in the name of repairing).

BSI kit costs about that I changed mine for 60k though before giving out the car.

When electrical issues are fixed, buy a Diagbox scanner & learn how to use it and NEVER let any rewire bypass anything.

If anything goes bad replace it.
