What’s the point of holding office if you can’t use the position to fight against treachery?

She could start by drawing up articles of impeachment and convince her Republican colleagues to agree to removal. If they’re so afraid to the point that they can’t do their jobs and are watching while we slide into fascism.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) this week described widespread worry about the chaos of President Trump's second administration, telling nonprofit leaders in her state: "We are all afraid."

Sen. Lisa Murkowski said a fear of retaliation under President Donald Trump’s administration is rising to levels she’s not seen before, acknowledging this week that it is so pervasive that even the outspoken senator is “oftentimes very anxious” to speak up out of fear of recrimination.

It is as hard as anything I have been engaged in, in the 20-plus years I've been in the Senate," Murkowski told Laurie Wolf, president and CEO of The Foraker Group, which hosted the discussion.

"It is head spinning," Murkowski told the group, according to the Anchorage news outlet. "It seems that just when you've made a little bit of progress on one issue that had caused so much anxiety, there's another one."

She argued Congress has given the executive branch too much power, "It's called the checks and balances. And right now, we are not balancing as the Congress," the local outlet reported.

IjeBos when you click on that link that says “worst of the worst illegals” some of them are accused of violent crimes like assault and manslaughter. That’s all I was expecting to see.

But then there are random people with crimes like:
Removal
Immigration Violations
Harboring aliens

So basically if you overstayed your visa which is a violation, you’re the worst of the worst. Straight to El Salvador

Or if you harbor someone whose visa is expired, you’re also part of the worst of the worst. Straight to El Salvador too.

Like what sense does it make to group people who committed civil offenses together with murderers & aggravated assault offenders?

There’s no rhyme or reason.

Really? What was the gist of the message if you don't mind sharing?
First I'm hearing about it.
it’s nothing bad actually. its more so just grand standing trumpian verbiage.

Paraphrasing “self deport if you’re illegal or there will be consequences”

As if Uscis carters to illegal immigration. Why post those kinds of messages on the website instead of the border where the illegal immigration is happening?

Basically if you are here seeking asylum and you go to Uscis to legalize your stay, you might feel targeted by such subtle threats. They forget people have to actually be here first before applying for asylum.

And then there are pictures of wanted immigrants on the website. I don’t believe I’ve seen that before.

Last I checked Uscis was not Interpol grin

And fear, for immigrants, seems to be the point.
They posted threatening messages on the Uscis website.
I just logged in to check on an application I’m working on for someone.

Why post those subtly threatening messages on a website that people are supposed to use for legal immigration? If what you’re against is illegal immigration?

On the food inspection matter, I think the state and local authorities could do an effective job in inspecting produce. For instance, a state like CA should have the resources to engage in statewide food inspections, without federal assistance
True for California, New York, Texas (maybe), and other big states. But those other states that are often in the red and have been consistently subsidized by us will fall behind.

And unfortunately, diseases do not understand state lines. If some food borne communicable diseases like norovirus or typhus breaks out in one of their poorly run states, it will get to us even if our food quality is top notch. All it takes is for someone to attend a work conference in another state, eat a salad for lunch and bring back a trail of gut pathogens from the airplanes to the public transport and back to us. 🥲

Also some of those food plants ship nationwide. There’s no additional stop for inspection when they get to their destination. We have to rely on whatever inspection they did at their home location. God save us if they did a shoddy job.

It’s more or less testing the waters. Catch and release. Catch and release.

While their republican doofuses try to excuse their actions by saying “see he’s been released”. Then gradually everyone will start getting used to American citizens who look a certain way being arrested as long as they eventually get released.

Until it’s not news anymore and then people stop talking about it. That’s when people will get disappeared and no one will even know or make fuss about it. People who don’t have deductive reasoning irk me. I’m gonna need us to have more sense and pattern recognition abilities.

Yep, international trips to the USA are down this first quarter. 70% less from Canada alone. Europe about 30% less. If this goes on it will keep dwindling. No one would risk coming to America is they can be disappeared on a technical error and the president goes “welp nothing I can do about that”.

The cops were supposedly confused about his citizenship status because he spoke a different language and of course the unspoken fact that he’s not white.

When he campaigned on sweeping immigration arrests, we said “how will they immediately decide whom to arrest”? Wouldn’t that be open invitation for racial profiling?

Mumu supporters said we were playing victim
A U.S.-born American citizen was being detained at the request of immigration authorities Thursday despite an advocate showing his U.S. birth certificate in court and a county judge finding no reason for him to be considered an “illegal alien” who illegally entered Florida.

Juan Carlos Gomez-Lopez, 20, was arrested Thursday evening by Florida Highway Patrol and charged under a state immigration law that has been temporarily blocked since early this month. Details of Gomez-Lopez’s arrest and detention were first reported by the Florida Phoenix news site.

After inspecting his birth certificate, Leon County Judge LaShawn Riggans said during the hearing that “this is indeed an authentic document,” but that she did not have jurisdiction beyond finding no probable cause for the charge.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s role is to enforce immigration laws that generally apply to noncitizens. American citizens are protected under the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution from unreasonable search and seizure, arrest and detention.

Nonetheless, he remains detained locally at ICE’s request, said Thomas Kennedy, a spokesperson at the Florida Immigrant Coalition who attended Thursday’s hearing.

“Everything tracks for him being sent to an ICE detention center,” he told NBC News in a phone interview.

Golden.

By their logic Trump shouldn’t even have had representation much less his day in court. He should be in a foreign detention camp. Instead he had his day in court. Had the ability to defend himself. Was convicted of 34 different felonies and still had the privilege to run for office. What black man or minority can do that?

Too stupid to know you’re stupid is a special kind of stupid.

IjeBos:
This is my point.
You don't even understand what the words due process mean.
The fact that Trump isn't sitting in jail now, meant not only was he afforded due process but he was afforded privileges not many would get.

The danger the US has right now is an anti-intellectual one. There are people too stupid to know how little they know, too proud to study it and very comfortable displaying that ignorance to everyone.
Your case is worse, not only do you not know how little you know there seems to be a mental illness there that makes you wake up everyday, pretend to live in the US and post clips against black people and immigrants even though you are a black person and would be a immigrant if you ever got a visa to the US.

In fact you are the one who hates the US, as you are advocating against everything the US stands for and is outlined in the Constitution.
It's a good thing you'll never be a citizen nor resident.

What people are saying about Trump’s recent health report that came out. The lies are as insane as they are stupid. According to the report, we should all believe he’s more fit than LeBron James who has about 6% body fat.

He tells these lies because the people who should, don’t call him out on it.
What is internet saying?
The internet is not convinced about the health report card of Trump shared by the White House. The internet is buzzing with questions about how accurate these numbers really are. "224 pounds. LOL," a user commented.

"So this is why we don't believe one thing this doctor has to say. He said that the convicted felon is 6'2" and 224 pounds. Elon musk and JD are both 6'2". Oh and 224 bahahahahahahahahahahahaha," quipped another.

---For once you are truthful---you might be in the same situation as Felon 47---who I doubt has even read his own ghost-written book---The Art of the Deal---I will suggest that you read the two books---

---For the record, here are some of Felon 47's noteworthy business failures---

1. Trump Airlines — Trump borrowed $245 million to purchase Eastern Air Shuttle. He branded it Trump Airlines. He added gold bathroom fixtures. Two years later Trump could not cover the interest payment on his loan and defaulted.
2. Trump Beverages — Although Trump touted his water as "one of the purest natural spring waters bottled in the world," it was simply bottled by a third party. Other beverages, including Trump Fire and Trump Power, seem not to have made it to market. And Trump's American Pale Ale died with a trademark withdrawal.
3. Trump Game — Milton Bradley tried to sell it. As did Hasbro. After investment, the game died and went out of circulation.
4. Trump Casinos — Trump filed for bankruptcy three times on his casinos, namely the Trump Taj Mahal, the Trump Marina and the Trump Plaza in New Jersey and the Trump Casino in Indiana. Trump avoided debt obligations of $3 billion the first time. Then $1.8 billion the second time. And then after reorganizing, shuffling money and assets, and waiting four years, Trump again declared bankruptcy after missing ongoing interest payments on multi-million dollar bonds. He was finally forced to step down as chairman.
5. Trump Magazine — Trump Style and Trump World were renamed Trump Magazine to reap advertising dollars from his name recognition. However, Trump Magazine also went out of business.
6. Trump Mortgage — Trump told CNBC in 2006 that "I think it's a great time to start a mortgage company. … The real-estate market is going to be very strong for a long time to come." Then the real estate market collapsed. Trump had hired E.J. Ridings as CEO of Trump Mortgage and boasted that Ridings had been a "top executive of one of Wall Street's most prestigious investment banks." Turned out Ridings had only six months of experience as a stockbroker. Trump Mortgage closed and never paid a $298,274 judgment it owed a former employee, nor the $3,555 it owed in unpaid taxes.
7. Trump Steaks — Trump closed Trump Steaks due to a lack of sales while owing Buckhead Beef $715,000.
8. Trump's Travel Site — GoTrump.com was in business for one year. Failed.
9. Trumpnet — A telephone communication company that abandoned its trademark.
10. Trump Tower Tampa — Trump sold his name to the developers and received $2 million. Then the project went belly-up with only $3,500 left in the company. Condo buyers sued Trump for allegedly misleading them. Trump settled and paid as little as $11,115 to buyers who had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
11. Trump University or the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative — Trump staged wealth-building seminars costing up to $34,995 for mentorships that would offer students access to Trump's secrets of success. Instructors turned out to be motivational speakers sometimes with criminal records. Lawsuits and criminal investigations abound.
12. Trump Vodka — Business failed due to a lack of sales.
13. Trump Fragrances — Success by Trump, Empire by Trump, and Donald Trump: The Fragrances all failed due to being discontinued, perhaps as a result of few sales.
14. Trump Mattress — Serta stopped offering a Trump-branded mattress, again likely due to slacking sales.
15. Truth Social — This existing Trump business owes big money, and may well be breathing its last.
Everlasting conman. Lies about his networth to get loans. Borrows to start one business, owes all his contractors, runs the business into the ground, business goes belly up. He files bankruptcy to avoid eating the cost of his failure, gets bailed out and repeats the process.

His supporters are really gullible to believe he’s a credible successful businessman of any sort
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by cococandy(f):
Hopefully this is my last response on the LGBTQ subject. Because somehow it manages to become the distracting topic while people are quite literally fighting for their lives, freedoms and future.

But I’m glad you mentioned Thailand. Even though they’re openly accepting of their rainbow community, I’ve never heard of the women there feeling threatened or replaced. Canadian women are not feeling replaced.

If you want to know why Thailand and UK and in fact most countries that have lax rules around LGBTQ communities don’t have the same drama America has, you have to study the behavior of their right wing versus our right wing. Our right wing is a cesspool of propaganda if I ever saw one. I’ve had family members reach out to me to ask how we’re coping with rainbow people taking over the country. I’m like this 😳 looking at them. Taking over where? That’s how long right wing propaganda reaches.

People like me were rightfully concerned when the right wing recently started heavily pushing the narrative of how they are a danger to women and children. Concerned that it was just political smokescreen to win themselves votes while distracting the public with LGBTQ boogeymen. And Trump proved us right when he admitted on camera that he told his party to save the conversation and bring it up during election season.

There’s nothing happening in America except right wing people drumming up fears of women being replaced. 90% of them never even met a trans person in real life but they’re friends with rapists and child abusers in their everyday life who they protect from accountability. All the while trying to convince women they care about us.

They can win me over by voting for protected paid parental leave for women (and men) to bond with their babies after childbirth and not lose their jobs or pay.

They can win me over by voting for women’s rights to choose and women’s bodily autonomy.

They will certainly win me over when they stop supporting abusers.

Until then, the whole men in women’s bathrooms and sports remains the political ruse that it is. No one who follows Republican Party politics actually believes they care about women. Certainly not me. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I don’t know how someone who belongs in the demographic that commits 80% of violent crimes against women and children can convince anyone that they’re standing up for women. Not when they’re too afraid to even call out their homeboys on rapey behavior.

descarado:
I think that govts sincerely is not handling this lgbt stuff well hence the public outcry and disdain.

Females have automatically become a protected characteristics which ought not be that way.

For example, in locker rooms to show fairness and Equality, get a locker room for them. They are literally forcing them into women space and we can see most of the repercussions. Anybody can claim anything and automatically lopped with women who they can take advantage of.

You want to participate in sports, do that on with your own and not women.
Just don't crawl on a woman's space. That is what I think that the Supreme Court considered as being unfair.
Another examples, in some unis here, there are so many foreigners and schools will automatically shut down when they stop coming in. Those foreigners might not care about lgbt as long as they don't crowd their space. The moment they start doing that, that is the end of educational tourism which no western govt will want cos the students will stop applying. Schools in the west are open today cos of international students.
It's one thing to push an agenda, then again, think about others while doing that else it's selfishness.
I have no problem with Anybody but don't gag my freedom. That is what they do and it's disgusting.

I didn't make a survey so won't cook up a stat but lots of people are not happy about these things.

It wasn't this wild and endearing until American govt started pushing and forcing countries to embrace that.

Uk has gender recognition act since 2004 and systematically creating awareness for the public but what is happening in America emboldened these guys to start going all out like in America.
The same with Thailand. Though called gay capital of the world and there is no thai drama gay will not be recognised. They created awareness for centuries. Lgbt gained unofficial recognision in Thailand since 14th century and it's only this year same sex marriage was signed into law. Those going to Thailand to marry these past yrs must have thought differently. They must have thought it was elderorado. This was a fight fought for since centuries ago. Majority if not all thai people accepted them before they were officially recognised. The west is literally new in this and they want to run before crawling. And here we are. They have not yet started. Also, thailand didnt force other countries to join them like america is doing.

I studied Thai gay community cos I was fascinated by that when I started watching Thai lakorn. The gay community in Thailand is so different from what we see in the west. So opposite. Uk is even calm and cool but America with their gra gra spoiled everything.

LGBTQ people being more violent and aggressive is the lie from hell that people like me refuse to validate. That’s the attack I’m talking about. More violent crimes, more abuses both abuse of men, women and children are done by heterosexual men.

In Nigeria, The people kidnapping Nigerians off the streets everyday, butchering them for parts, killing villagers in their homes and farms, raping children are all heterosexual men. In America the same thing. Straight men account for more than 80% of all violence meted out to the general population. No one has called for all straight people to be punished for the crimes a percentage of us commit.

Yes I think you should leave them alone.

Going to court is far better than spreading online hate and propaganda against them because those actions lead to acts of extreme violence and harm against them. Go on front page and read about the one that was killed in a gruesome manner. And that’s not the first such incident.

It’s not uncommon to read about acts of extreme cruelty and violence against their community all fueled by the vitriol. And then you have people on there justifying the brutality. When you call them out, they label you LGBTQ champion. Sorry you are unable to separate not liking a person’s lifestyle from speaking against those wishing them harm.

Going to court is classy, it’s a civilized approach. That’s what anti LGBTQ people should’ve been doing this whole time. Instead of cultivating a culture of hate that leads to violence against them.
