What is worse than committing a sin is proudly defending it or looking for a way to present it as the right thing. |
Nice thread, MashaAllah. I didn't stock up much pre-Ramadan because I don't really like long refrigeration for my food. So I do few days and revisit the market. As per the meals,I realize that variety is key in ramadan to avoid been bored with food which equally leads to loss of apetite.and nutrient consideration is also important cos during this period, even at iftar, you can't really eat much.you get full easily, don't know why.so I try to plan my meals to be balanced as much as possible. At sahur, I have meals like swallows, rice, spagetti along with moi-moi (which usually is left from sahur meals) plantain etc and good amount of fish /meat then fruits Then for iftar, after breaking with date fruits and water,I like been creative with rice which is about the main staple we have around . Beans with plantain or potato chips, yam etc along with fruits and veggie smoothies As per timing,I believe it depends on location because weather conditions for various locations differ.but for lagos, sahur should be rounding off at about 5:15-5:20am and iftar should commence at about 7:05-7:10pm. We really should be appreciative of this fine weather we've been experiencing so far in this ramadan.May Allah make the rest easy and accept all our requests. We should also remember, the search for lailatul Qadr has begun.may Allah make us witness it-amin |
My dear sisters, asalam alykum. Hope we're all doing fine. This thread has been silent . Trust we're busy with various ibaadah, sahur and iftar. May Allah make it all easy and grant us the full reward-amin Let us try and make this dua a lot...along with istigfar "Rabbi habli min ladunka dhuriyattan toyyiba inaka samihu dua" Its the dua of prophet Zakariyya. Meaning; "My Lord, grant me from You,a good offspring. You are indeed the All-hearer of invocation" May Allah accept all our dua and bless us in them-amiin |
Freewilly: Disgusting!!! Lagos air is already too polluted, burning waste to generate energy will even pollute the air more. Thank God I don't have any family in That filthy place. You shouldn't comment on a topic you don't know anything about. They don't have to burn the waste to generate electricity.Organic materials naturally emit gases as they decompose which can be trapped and converted to electrical energy. As for you referring to lagos as a filthy place, this only shows why your comment was full of ignorance in the first place. |
lagos state governour and his team are just so brilliant. Always thinking ahead of innovative things that will better the state and the people. Well i'm not surprised, when a leader is good, all those working with him will brace up and put in their best. Fashola is working.... Eko o ni baje |
maclatunji: Reminds me of Enzo Scifo. #Hehehei'm not sure this hegelian guy is a muslim . He his just hiding under the canopy of anonymity and creating confusion on this thread. check out his choice of words |
papi365: I REALIZE ENGLISH WAS NOT UR MAJOR IN SKOOL. MTCHEEWNow I realize how low your level of comprehension is. |
You can also read the response to the question 38552 referred to in tbaba's post. |
deols: There is no point arguing with you. I dont even know where to start.I'm suprised you were able to get an authentication of your point from Tbaba's post.I already read that answer before my previous post. Show me that chewing gum around today that does not contain additives that will dissolve on the tongue once your saliva comes in contact with it.or maybe you should buy one of the so called sugarless ones and read through the ingredients.its not only about swallowing its about it dissolving and being absorbed into the body.or didn't you read where the scholar said you should not even chew the tasteless gum because of mouth odour? Even where he said the one who the doctor ordered should even avoid it if he can and only chew after breaking his fast? Well,as per you saying you don't want to argue,I am not arguing with you, just clarifying issues and I believe its one of the duties of a muslim to another muslim.may Allah increase us in knowledge.and Allah knows best |
papi365: IT IS U DAT MUST BE PULLED OUT OF IGNORANCE. U RE BLIND,I PRAY U RECEIVE D SALVATION OF CHRISTAre you wishing him well or otherwise? Cos this is not a prayer o . Rather,it's the opposite |
deols: There is no doubt here.My dear sis,Islam is not about analogy its about facts contained in the Qur'an and sunnah.the chewing of siwaak you mentioned and tasting of food is expressly mentioned in the hadith. Where is analogy of chewing something tasteless mentioned? Or has any scholar sanctioned it? We all know contemporary issues are tabled before scholars to give rulings on them even if they are not expressly contained in the Quran or hadith.so where has it been sanctioned. Its not for us as individuals to make rulings for ourselves. Moreover,if you decide to chew gum because of mouth odour, where do you put the hadith of Allah loving the odour and comparing it to the fragrance of musk? We are not wiser than Allah and His words are always true.we cannot say we want to please the creation and displease the creator. Allah knows best |
deols: If the gum has no sugar, it is allowed.Any evidence for this in the Qur'an or sunnah please. Thousands of people read these messages silently.so we don't mis-inform people without knowing it. The essence of fasting has been defeated when you chew anything, tasteless or not.taste is not the essence in fasting, its keeping away from eating, drinking and sexual activities irrespective of what the food or drink is. The fasting person should brush after sahur, taking special care to brushing the tongue too.possibly floss and use mouthwash thereafter. Avoid putting your mouth too close to people when speaking later in the day. Cos the mere fact that you avoid eating or drinking creates an odour either you like it or not.even those that are not fasting, when they don't eat for prolonged period of time will develop odour as well. |
Asalam alykum all. Alhamdulilah that we are amongst those priviledged to witness this blessed month. may Allah in His infinite mercy accept all our acts of ibaadah therein, grant all of our requests and make us witness many more Ramadan in good health and in safety-amin Ramadan Mubarak |
A welcome development. |
Asalam alykum dear sisters, hope we're all good. As regards the ruqya, we need to be very careful. Ruqya is done along two lines, either for a cure when it has been established there is a jinn attack or as a preventive measure in the absence of one. For the latter,we may play the ruqya tape and/or recite the ruqya ayahs of the Qur'an on our own. But for the former,do not for any reason do the ruqya on your own,it has to be carried out on you.and not just by anybody ,but by a strong sunni ustaz or a certified ruqya practitioner.Reason being that,if you attempt the ruqya on your own when infact their is a jinn in you,the jinn will not leave and would be more offensive to you,it will attack you more or may even attack others around you.it may even partner with another jinn to harm you. There's more to ruqya than playing the tape.I'v witnessed a jinn attack on a sister that the ruqya took more than 4hrs.there were like 4 uztaz that were there doing it.the jinn did not want to leave.it was really tough before they could send it out.this is definately not something one can achieve alone.so if you've seen the signs of jinn attack, pls don't attempt ruqya on your own lest you harm yourself more.but if its just as a preventive measure, you can play the tape and recite the ayahs of the qur'an on ruqya.May Allah help us. For more on the signs of jinn attack, check out the book "Ibn Taymiyyah's essay on the jinn" |
Nice post @Op May Allah make it easy for us and make us witness many more of this blessed month-amin |
F.G and their upside down ways... Always putting the cart before the horse. Smh How can they even think of banning generators when the electricity situation is getting worse by the day. People are making up for this power failure with gen sets and they are considering placing a ban on it.Most businesses in Nigeria thrive on generators for more than 8hours in a day! Depending on the area .or don't they want us to survive again? |
MashaAllah! This is a fantastic concept. Let's keep up the meritorious act.May Allah reward all participants in manifolds and may we witness many more Ramadan to come-amin |
I pray it works out fine. It'l be a good addition to the dwindling number of airlines we have now. |
Asalam alykum my sisters. @Angelicbola83,you're welcome to the forum.May Allah grant your heart desires and ours too sooner than we expect-amin @Rainyday+Venuss, Regard whatever you're going through as trials from Allah.of which, its only Allah that can take it away and be patient(I know its not easy) I pray Allah relieve you of the distress soon @all,May Allah overlook our short-comings and grant us our heart desires very soon |
You're welcome .Okay, I forgot you mentioned there's a branch in KD too.may Allah make it a success. |
VENUSS: @ cocodiva am seriously thinking of going the accupunture route. Pls shed more light. Most one do the complete package or I can just single out acupunture and massage, how many session in a month, do one have to pay in full before starting and what is the cost estimate for a month? JazakAllahu khairan. They have moved their clinic to a new site. The new place is indicated in phewme's post above. you don't have to do the total package , you can choose which ones you wish to do and they'll charge you based on that.the payment option too is quite flexible, you can pay per week or per treatment session. But there is a challenge of language barrier.Because they are Koreans, they don't speak much of English so try to speak little words at a time so they'll understand you easily. As at when I was there,i did the full package and I had 3 times a week session and it cost about 15-20k . cant remember well now. All the best. |
jazakallahu khairan. This is indeed a good initiative. may Allah make it easy. I will just like to add that efforts should be made to properly identify the target group considering the fact that Nigerians generally like free things. everybody will like to have it even if they can afford it while depriving those that actually need it. may Allah make the project a success. |
This is what happens when you pay idle militants salary. They keep holding you to ransome. Its never going to stop cos they'l keep demanding for more. Nigeria at its best... Smh |
This is an educative piece. May Allah spare our lives till ramadan and beyond and make us witness many more to come-amin Shaban is also a month of re-paying missed fasts from previous ramadan. So for those that missed some fasts,(for valid reasons)and have been unable to pay back since then, shaban presents the last opportunity to do so before ramadan comes.Because its not permissible to delay it beyond then May Allah make it easy for us all-amin |
Wa alykum salam @ Ononoplanet, So sorry to hear that. May Allah console you and compensate you with something better- amin. Maybe you should suggest to your doctor to have a hysteroscopy done to see what's going on in that area that could be causing the problem. But don't give up, try try and keep trying.May Allah, the provider replenish your pocket and keep on bestowing His bounties on you and your DH-amin Very soon inshaAllah you'l have those lovely quads in your arms. @All, may Allah be with us all-amin |
This is a good initiative. It should be encouraged.thumbs up to the organizers. |
Talk of transferred agression .The situation of the country is driving some nigerians insane gradually. Smh |
Asalam alykum fab sisters and mothers-to-be very soon.Hope we're all holding up. Just a reminder ; "For after every difficulty, there is ease (surah As-Sharh:5-6) Be patient and don't seek a speedy response- impatience is like cutting plants before their harvest time while they are much better if you wait. Be patient and do not become hasty because your supplication will be accepted as long as you do not become hasty and say, "I have supplicated but it has not been accepted from me" (Hadith, Saheeh Bukhari) So let's all be optimistic and have good hope in Allah.May Allah make it easy-amin. |
