First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

What a pity! Our freedom of speech is gone.

RomanceRe: Girls Ever Been Embarrassed Visiting A Guy? Share Your Experiences by CoCoLav(f): 2:19pm On Mar 28, 2016
I didn't even visit a guy yeah....he came to visit me but it was still embarrassing to me.

I had this crush in my neighbourhood. He was the cutest guy in my area then but my parents were very strict so visiting people was never an option. I went downstairs to wash some clothes one Sunday afternoon and I guess he must have seen me from outside the gate. He came in to say hi and we were talking for about 3 mins when my mum suddenly sighted us from upstairs. She started shouting my name and asked me to leave that place and come upstairs now or focus on the clothes I was washing. She started asking who the boy was and what rubbish we were discussing. She did this from upstairs so all the neighbours could obviously hear.

Boy was I mad! I instantly asked him to please leave and I will see him later. I stormed upstairs to find my dad and explained that I was having a harmless conversation with a friend and his wife embarrassed me. He called her and made her apologize to me.

@ op, let me put it to you that you wrote all this based on your observations in NORTHERN Cross River and a few visits to calabar because you mentioned less about d south and central.
I would like to differ on your numbers 3 & 6, in all this your research how long have you ever spent in a place called Ugep in Yakkur?
What he said also applies to Ugep. How many banks are in Ugep? Is there any bank in Idomi the neighbouring village? Or even Mkpani

The part about not telling you anything about your faults is so me! I can't put those things in mind. It's not like you are perfect, but your wife has accepted you in your imperfection and does not feel the need to keep a record of all the things wrong with you. It's just too much work keeping a record of someone's faults especially someone you care about.
Science/TechnologyRe: What Are Your Thoughts On Cyborg Technology. by CoCoLav(f): 1:27pm On Mar 24, 2016
bigval:
that's true cocolav, but consider how much is spent to develop weapons of mass destruction and compare it to how much is spent to improve agriculture or even sustain a healthy environment, noting that both also make use/need high level of technology
I don't fully agree that more money is being spent developing weapons of mass destruction. Having experienced what is happening in the biotechnology sector and also with the benefits transhumanism holds for the human race, I think equal attention is being given to other useful technologies. If you have statistics, you can share.

Just imagine what Sophie in this video can accomplish for humans.

He is not really saying Technology is about war, technology has being man's greatest means of development and civilization starting from the first man made stone weapons, sumerian invention of wheels till now.

He is saying that ability is being misused for destructive means and less for the betterment of humanity by some greedy selected few.

They budget more for creating weapons of mass destruction than things we actually need.

Humanity do not need weapons that should kill us, the only reason we have wars is because there are people who make money from wars and there will always be war as long as money is being made from it by the greedy few.

If you look around what our ego, selfish greed and unthinking quest for power has made us LIFE's greatest threat.

This planet is not threatened by Zombies, alien invasions, vampires, religious apocalypses, gods flying down to rapture man or every other fantasy we have imagined.

If you look well enough there is only 1 threat to this planet and all in it and that is Man..
Of course I agree completely. Man is his own greatest enemy.

I've always thought about this, the world spends way more on developing weapons than on producing food to combat hunger and poverty, seems the goal is to keep people hungry and poor, so that they will have every reason to kill themselves.
Have you seen 3D machines that print edible pizza?

Technologies are not necessarily about war and destructions.

Interesting question,

Literally, YES! an amputee is a cyborg as he/she fits the definition of one.
So what's your definition of a human?
And if amputees are no longer humans then do then do/ should they have human rights?

Science/TechnologyRe: What Are Your Thoughts On Cyborg Technology. by CoCoLav(f):
No matter how you look at it, we are already cyborgs. Tell me how long you can stay without any form of technology. Read Donna Haraway's 'We are all Cyborgs now" and you will understand. Mentally, technology is already ingrained into our bodies. The only thing left is the physical alteration which will come soon.

Although I am left to wonder, will you call an amputee with robotic legs or hands a cyborg?

Exactly! If the courts do not allow homonyms of trademarks, I don't see how they would allow re-arrangement of letters. OP I honestly do not think you have a case.

I don't think Facebook can win this battle because they only have the trademark of Facebook and not face or book. if they had the power, believe you me op's site would have been down long ago.
But remember the test for trademark infringement is likelihood of confusion not possibility of confusion. Face kobo and face book sound very similar. Facebook also has a lot of goodwill and the average judge will think the OP is trying to take advantage of the goodwill. If the OP uses express disclaimers on his website saying it is in no way affiliated with Facebook then he might stand a better chance.

Although the first thought I had when I saw the post was that it was the work of copyright trolls.
CelebritiesRe: Photographer Sues 2Face And His Wife For N120m by CoCoLav(f):
2Face and Annie's story sounds concoted.
Anyway, the judge has to look at the real issues here. Who owns the copyright in a photograph? The artist owns the copyright in a work even if it was commissioned. The person in the photo only has a license to use it. If 2face is alleging that they had a conditional agreement prior to the transfer of the photos then he has to provide copies of that agreement.

Secondly, even if the artist gave them the photos free of charge, it does not transfer the copyright to them. He may have infringed on their privacy by taking their photos without consent or even trespassed on their wedding but that is a separate issue. Copyright in photographs remains with the person who uses his materials and equipment for the work. It is an intangible right that cannot be passed with a physical transfer of the photos.

The matter is further complicated by the fact that they are public figures. People take pictures of Beyoncé and Kim all the time at events and sell it for commercial gain or even make derivative works out of it. I'm not sure if 2face's claim will hold being a public figure.

Lastly, passing off an artistic work as your own means denying the author the benefit of his creativity. By the mere fact that 2face's watermark is on the photo, it means he has denied the author's involvement in the work and that is the main issue here. Not whether he got the photos for free or not. By doing that, he has infringed the copyright and moral rights of the author.

I thought you were being cheeky when you suggested the grocery store. I really haven't thought of the situation where i actually leave home to shop erhm- for a relationship?..arghh! why does it really have to come down to that?!!

By the way, you've got a nice diary going.
I was, but there's some truth in it. I have heard of people who met at grocery stores. Like those omg unreal moments when your bag of groceries fall and a stranger bends to help you pick them up and your eyes meet after which you realize she is the love of your life and bla bla bla..well that's what the movies say.

OR

You could strike up a conversation asking for her opinion on a particular product. Single guy with no kitchen skills, I believe she will be sympathetic.

Seriously though, just chill...people meet in crazy places. Thanks for the diary compliment.

Might have a go at the grocery store idea, how bad could it be?
It can't be that bad. Starting a conversation while walking around the aisles isn't a bad idea, it's also a pretty relaxed environment.

Such women don't really attend those events, unless you get lucky on a day her friends succeed in getting her out of her apartment. For her it's also work, sleep and eat.

You can try grocery stores though cheesy

Folafetty:
Hi guys

Good afternoon
Pls I need your urgent advice

I have been using an agent for Visa Application ,Unfortunately My application was denied based on "purpose of visit and family ties in country and country of residence' but I am currently thinking of re-applying this time my self.

So my question is what Mode do you think is the best and fastest for RE-APPLYING as MY admission is dated for may. AND PLS CAN I GET the link or the Canadian Embassy website for applying? Thanks
www.cic.gc.ca
You need to read the section for students that want to study in Canada
If your admission is for May, I doubt you will be able to get your visa in time to resume school

If you have issues with purpose of visit, then your proposed course of study probably does not align with your current job. It could also be because you have a long gap from when you finished school till now. Immigration agencies do not like long unexplained gaps and idle gaps because it means you may have been in jail or there is something fishy.

Family ties in country of residence means you are probably single with no kids. There is nothing tying you back to your home country. In simple terms....what is that thing that will make you return home when you complete your program?

To gain more information about the reasons for your refusal, I will advice you to read the Immigration and Refugee Act that deals with student visas. It might be a long shot but trust me its worth it.

You need to know the documents your agent submitted on your behalf because if he falsified any information during your application, it is stored permanently in their records and any information you submit subsequently that is contradictory may result in a denial of your application.
