Most people dream of a life of luxury, I certainly do – the First class flights, the mansions in two countries, the sports car in a warm climate, the entrepreneurial friends that all make millions and all the perks that come with that. Lots of people want it but… Most people think that this is a dream that is out of their reach and so they do nothing to make it happen. They settle into a life they do not like but which they feel they must have. And then there are those who dream a big dream – they want it all and they know that they are going to get it if they acn just get past a few of these roadblocks – Maybe that is you. You are done with the status quo, you are ready for the big time and you are more than willing to put the effort in but time and time again, you get stopped and you wonder what is in the way. Most people, at this point, push harder, do more, faster and still, the money flows in and the money flows right back out again and they struggle to stop the flow. What could be in the way? It is usually to do with mindset. Clarity internally mixed with external, productive action creates wealth – Action alone can make you look busy but get you nowhere fast. 1. Is it time to forgive? Once upon a time, someone offended you, they did not believe in you, they said something annoying and now, you are determined to prove them wrong. The anger and resentment burns through you as you go about your daily business. I remember arriving on the shores of the UK with that fire in my belly from people who had dared to consider me anything less than capable. I was a woman and so therefore, I was incapable or so my male African relatives seemed to suggest and I was determined to prove them wrong. The thing that we forget is that the only reason that we are so riled up by what this or that person said, is because deep inside, we believe them. If we KNEW that they were incorrect, it would have washed off us like water off a duck and yet, we allowed it to take root and attach itself to the lies we believe about ourselves already. Those people gave it a voice and now, we can not shake the internal fear that they may be true. But unfortunately, you only ever get what you expect and so until you release it, get clear and free of it, you will not be able to keep any of the money you do make. ACTION TIP: Forgive them and forgive you. Be thankful they pointed out the flaws in your thinking, you can now find freedom and create wealth. Forgiving someone from my life doubled my business in 90 days – It is certainly worth a try! 2. Will God Hate me for desiring a life of luxury and wealth? This is another underlying block that gets in the way of creating wealth. For the spiritual types, it is easy to begin to think that it is more noble, more ethical, more ‘right’ to have just enough. Any more than that and you must be greedy and there may a sense of disapproval from the heavens because of your greedy ways. And yet, we live in a world of such abundance. If you do believe in God or the Universe and you believe that He/She is good… then why do you ascribe such crazy tendencies to them. Why do you think they put you in an abundant world simply to suffer and struggle and have just about enough? Surely, it is time to face the thinking that holds you back and instead, ask the question – Is it okay for me to get wealthy? And if you can distance yourself from the very loud voice of some crazy spiritual teacher from your past, a well-meaning parent who suggested that you were greedy and instead listen to the voice inside of you, you may be surprised at the answer. And then maybe, you will let yourself create wealth anyway you like, because really it does not matter. You having wealth, takes nothing from another. If anything, you now have more to impact another. ACTION TIP – Get clear about what God/The Universe really says about money so that you are released to create as much of it as you like. 3. You don’t believe you deserve anything that good. How do you decide what is ‘THAT’ good? And at what point, do you stop deserving it? How can you tell? You are as deserving as Richard Branson when it comes to your worth as a person. The only difference between you and that wealthy dude is that he is of more value in the marketplace because he takes consistent action to create wealth for his and himself. When you make creating wealth a function of your self-worth, then you have already lost the battle. Money is inanimate; you can have it if you want it. It has nothing to do with whether you deserve it or not. Yes, you do not need to figure out your self-worth issues but separate that from money. If you do want to create wealth, serve more people – It is that simple. Figure out what people want and provide them with a solution and then you will make as much money as you like based around how many you serve. You want more? serve more. Be a provider of solutions. ACTION TIP: Dissociate your worth as a person from the value of your bank account. The only thing your bank account shows is that you may have spent far too long navel-gazing instead of getting out there and making a difference to someone. Begin to take action and know your worth is not up for debate. You are priceless. Source:>>>>> http://kissyourdreams.com/3-reasons-why-you-are-not-rich-yet/ |
Nigerian cable and terrestrial music channel, Soundcity, has cleared the air on why it stopped airing videos by Nigeria’s pop twins, P-Square, since January this year. The television channel was responding to an outburst by Peter Okoye, one half of the group, to a fan on Twitter who had complained about the lack of P-Square videos on Soundcity TV. “Don’t waste ur time dear… They will not play them … Pls keep watching Trace TV, Mtvbase, HipTv n Afropop. Thanks,” Peter Okoye had responded to the fan via his Twitter handle on Thursday. But in a statement titled, “What has Soundcity ever done for P-Square?” the urban music channel said the decision to stop airing the pop duo’s music videos was due to their failure to attend to one of their events, last year. “For 10 years, @SoundcityTV has been a huge supporter of #PSquare brand, right from their 1st music video to the last video released in 2014. Most of their videos got massive airplay on @SoundcityTV than any other music channel,” the TV station said in the statement published on its website. The statement noted that the station had assisted the P-Square brand, toured with them all over Africa at their own expense, given them ad-spots for their events as well as prime time slots for their videos. “We invited #PSquare to one of our annual events last December 2014 and they insisted we pay a certain amount of money,” the statement continued. “We reasonably asked, what is the least we can offer? This was us foregoing the fact that we had invested a lot in #PSquare’s career as music talents/artistes and entertainers. “The feedback was ‘What has Soundcity ever done for P-Square? Tell me one thing Soundcity has ever done for PSquare’ (Jude Okoye, Manager). “While we understand that this is business, there is also room for special consideration. Saying our TV brand has never done anything for #Psquare was quite damning. Clearly, there was no need to argue with their decision. “We decided to stop doing anything with/for #PSquare, since our 10 years of supporting the group meant nothing to them. We assumed our relationship was a mutually beneficial one, but clearly one-sided. “Ultimately, #PSquare music videos stopped airing on @SoundcityTV since January 01, 2015. Soundcity reserves the right to air music videos on our cable/satellite or terrestrial platforms.” Source: http://www.mixtgist.com/why-we-stopped-airing-p-square-music-videos-soundcity-tv/ |

Every man or woman you have $ex with deposits and leaves a part of their soul in you. Most of us haven’t been properly educated about $ex. It’s almost a taboo to discuss these things outside of private matters but the silence leads to lack of awareness of what it even is. I mean it is the most powerful force that creates life. Most see it as a physical experience but forget the bond, the connectio…n, energy exchange and deep cellular one experiences with their partner. When a man or woman decides to have multiple $ex partners it can send mixed emotional signals to the body’s vibration system. People must be careful of different energies and spiritual forces polluting their internal temple. $ex is referred to as $exual INTER-COURSE because it’s an internal course that unites man and woman, mind and mind, spirit and spirit. This is something that a condom can’t protect you against because energy is behind the elements of all flesh. On a physical level we have been educated to use “protection” but on an energy level nobody discusses the effects it creates on ones mind and soul. It’s too much of a taboo and hidden away to avoid. Be one aware of what’s going on, even if you’ve never heard before, just ponder on it http://www.mixtgist.com/facts-about-5ex-nobody-will-ever-tell-you-viewers-discression/ |

Russian researchers have developed a chemical process to « whiten » quickly a person’s skin. With a mixture that includes oxytane and benzodiazepine. It would suffice to stay for 6 hours in a bath consisting of 50grams per liter of water. Then the skin peels off naturally. This is in fact the upper skin layer responsible for the color that can be removed. The laboratory at the origin of the discovery has already announced 254 people have been treated by this method. The Russian government may soon allow the reimbursement of this treatment. According to Russian authorities, is an high value for thousands of immigrants who may feel more integrated in Russia once their color matches the one of the premises. A strong point of view decried by the a$$ociations of human rights. Vladimir Putin’s country use all the means at its disposal, even science, to guide his company towards a vision considered ideal. We are all living in a society were all our young girls want to be models nd our young guys want to be music superstars |
According to my psychology lecturer, horror movies are of some benefits to your health. I love them alot, I love the adrenaline rush that trickles following the suspense when the scary and creepy dude stalks over to the pretty and gorgeous beauty in the dark. Note: If you can't withstand fear and horror, please don't read this story in the dark! The butcher knife lady When I was really little my parents would let me stay up late on the weekends and watch TV until I fell asleep. I really loved these times and I would stay up later than anybody else just because I could. Well one night I was almost asleep on the couch when I heard a noise on our front porch. It was the sound of our old fashioned porch swing moving back and forth. I was a little scared so I crept toward the bay windows of my living room and peeked out towards the porch. Sitting on my front porch swing was an older woman, probably in her 50’s wearing nothing but a night gown, covered in blood and holding a huge kitchen knife. I flipped out immediately and ran screaming into my parents room but was too terrified to form words. My parents saw that I was upset, but when I finally was able to tell them what I saw, my dad got really angry and told me that it was just a dream and to go back to bed. I refused and kept crying and screaming until he had had enough and snatched my arm and dragged me towards the front door to prove that nothing was there. I kicked and screamed all the way trying to make him stop, but he kept pulling me. Finally we got to the door, he unlocked it, swung it open and said “See theres nothing th-” To this day, I have never seen the look of fear and shock that was on his face when that woman turned and stared at both of us and slowly stood up with the knife. My dad slammed the door shut and got my mom to call the police while he went and got his gun. He went back to the door with a 12 gauge and cracked the door enough to stick the barrel out. He asked her what she was doing and she said “Somebody killed my husband, but it wasn’t me.” My dad told her that the police were coming, and she freaked out, grabbed the knife and walked away. They police found her 15 minutes later trying to break into one of our neighbors houses. I never slept in the living room again. oluwadanie1:yes bro....Men can also develop breast cancer |
In the fight against cancer, specialist have stated that breast cancer is the leading type of cancer, along with skin cancer, diagnosed mostly in women worldwide and have succeeded in being the cause of death for so many of its victims. To show you how deadly breast cancer can be, take a look at this data. Breast cancer accounts for 16% of all female cancers and 22.9% of invasive cancers in women. 18.2% of all cancer deaths worldwide, including both males and females, are from breast cancer Breast cancer usually starts off in the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply them with milk. A malignant tumor can spread to other parts of the body. A breast cancer that started off in the lobules is known as lobular carcinoma, while one that developed from the ducts is called ductal carcinoma. Anyone can develop this cancer, and like so many other types of cancer, it is still not clear what causes it. However, certain factors put you at a higher risk. Such factors include: Increasing age A family history of breast cancer Obesity and a sedentary lifestyle Excessive drinking Exposure to radiation Hormone replacement therapy during menopause Ionizing radiation Menstruation starting at an early age and having children late in life or not at all. Although it is more common among women, men can also get breast cancer. Women who get annual mammography screenings are much less likely to die from breast cancer than those who do not. Mammograms make it easier to detect this cancer at an early stage, allowing more effective treatment. However, mammograms are not perfect every time. But knowing the possible warning signs and changes in the breasts that may signal cancer, you’ll be able to act promptly. It is better to get checked by your doctor and have a false alarm than to miss diagnosing cancer as early as possible. Here are some important warning signs of breast cancer. 1. Lump in the Breast or Armpit Feeling a lump in your breast or armpit may be the first warning sign of breast cancer. Such lumps are often hard and painless, though some may be painful. A lump under the armpit may feel hard or thick and dense as compared with the armpit on the other side. Do not panic when you notice a lump, as it is not always cancerous. A few common causes of breast lumps are hormonal changes in the body, a breast infection and fat necrosis (damaged tissue). It is important to have your doctor check out any new or suspicious lumps on your breasts to determine the cause. Read: 9 inexpensive ways to reduce your cancer risk 2. Red or Swollen Breasts When breasts hurt, most women think it is due to premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and when breasts feel hot or appear red, they usually suspect an infection. Swollen breasts with soreness or redness might even be a sign of breast cancer. A tumor located underneath a breast can push on tissues, making the breast swollen and sore. In some cases, the swelling is more prominent under the arm or under the collarbone. If you have this symptom for more than a week, be sure to see a doctor. 3. Nipple Discharge Discharge from your nipple without any squeezing or touching of the breast may make any women wonder. Other than breast milk, any kind of nipple discharge can be a warning sign of breast cancer. When a tumor starts in the milk ducts just under or around the nipple, it may cause irritation and infection, leading to discharge. If you notice any nipple discharge, particularly clear or bloody, get it checked by your doctor. Such discharge can also be due to an infection or other condition that needs treatment. 4. Pain in the Breast or Chest Area If you have an ache, sharp stab or pain in the breast or chest area, it is not a good sign. Sharp pain that comes and goes or a mild electric sensation that you may experience from one breast to another may be a sign of breast cancer. A tumor located directly behind the nipple or in one of the milk ducts often causes pain and discomfort in the breast. Though not necessarily a warning sign of cancer, pain in the breast or chest area can be due to other serious health issues that may need treatment. At times, breast pain can be due to hormonal changes in the body, birth control pills, poorly fitting bras and stress. 5. Changes in Breast Appearance Any change in the shape or size of your breasts is a matter of concern. You also need to keep a close eye on dimpling, shrinkage and recent asymmetry of the breasts. Deep tissue growth in the breasts may affect their shape or size, leading to physical changes. As these changes are more about appearance than feel, you might become aware of such changes while looking at yourself in a mirror. 6. Nipples Become Sensitive A change in nipple appearance or sensitivity can also be a warning sign of breast cancer. Often a breast tumor is located just beneath the nipple, which can lead to changes in the appearance and feel of the nipple. It might become inverted, flattened or indented, and there might be an increase in nipple sensitivity. A change in the feel or appearance of the skin on the nipple can also be due to mastitis or other reasons. It is best to discuss it with your doctor to rule out the possibility of cancer. 7. Itching on the Breasts An unknown cause of itchiness around your breasts can also be a sign of breast cancer, but this is very rare. It may be a sign of a type of cancer called inflammatory breast cancer. Due to the tumor, the skin above the area can become red, inflamed, painful and itchy. The itchiness is extreme and makes you feel like scratching the skin. No matter how much you scratch or apply ointments or lotion, nothing seems to relieve the itchiness. If you have a patch of itchy skin or you are not able to reduce the itchiness of your breast, see your doctor right away. 8. Pain in the Upper Back, Shoulder and Neck When a tumor spreads to the spine, it causes unexplained pain in the upper back, shoulder and neck. People often confuse such pain with sore muscles, a pulled tendon or ligament, or osteoarthritis of the spine. If the pain is due to cancer, it will not go away with stretching the muscles or changing positions. If you are not able to reduce pain in your back, shoulder and neck through physical therapy, get it checked by your doctor. Okay……in some countries, gay marriage has being legalized and one can live as a gay freely and will not pass through the social rejection that he would have faced if the gay marriage thingy have’nt being legalized. In so many other countries, especially countries in Africa, being gay is an abomination. Only an estimate of 10% of the population are gay and only 2% are proud of their nature just because of the people around them. Have you ever wondered if a some guy you know is gay? In some people it is just so obvious while in some, unless you are locked up in a room with them and they wanna get unto you, you can’t find out. Most people will answer this question with a very quick and confident “No”, but for others, the answer isn’t so simple. Maybe something just doesn’t “feel” right or you are starting to get curious by the way he acts. Well, now you can finally get the answer to this important question and put your worries to rest by putting the person through these 10 signs on how to tell if a guy is gay. 1. He Checks Out Other Men It is simply a subconscious behavior that every man does throughout the day without realizing it, that is to check out on the opposite sex. But when he starts to check out on other men, instead of women, well, there is a problem. Well, the next time you’re out, pay close attention to where his eyes are roaming. If not women, is he checking out other men? That’s a definite sign he may be gay. 2. He Seems Flirty With Males Of course the guy has male friends. But we all know how men act around their buddies. They’ll joke around and try to be the tough guy as much as possible. But does this guy seem a little out of place with his guy pals? Does he seem to be a bit more flirty than masculine? That could definitely be a sign that he’s playing for the other team. 3. He Primps Like a Female It’s certainly a well known stereotype that gay males tend to be a bit more conscious about the way they look and try to look “perfect” the majority of the time. Is this guy just a little bit too ‘perfect’? Is his hair always done nicely, his face perfectly shaven, and his outfit is as fashion forward as it could possibly get with matching shoes, scarves, and all? Does he spend more time than an average female in the bathroom every morning? Sure, he might just be very metrosexual and care a lot about his looks- but at least ninety percent of males aren’t like that. So pay attention to this! 4. He Idols Over the Top Celebrities Gay men love celebrities who live lavish, over the top lifestyles. They love it because these individuals aren’t afraid to be “out there” and have all of the finest things in life. If this dude seems to idol celebrities with incredibly lavish lifestyle, then he may be gay. 5. He Watches “Girly” Television Shows I can’t imagine myself as a guy sitting around and watching a television show that is just too feminine, my buddies too. That is to show you that guys have this phobia for girly television shows, it is just too boring. It will be hard to meet a guy who will want to sit through another episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” or “Glee”- or any other stereotypical “girly” show on tv the way he will sit around and wait for the next episode of Game of thrones, Tyrant and any of this masculine movies. But if a guy seems to be up to date on all of these female shows, it may be a sign that he’s gay. 6. He Defends Gays Most gay men will go out of their way to make it apparent that there is absolutely nothing wrong with gay men and they should be treated equally. And while this is absolutely true, most men won’t make this a usual topic of conversation. So, if this guy seems to bring up the gay community often and goes out of his way to make sure you know how okay it is, it may be a way for him to justify his sexuality. 7. He Hates Gays On the other hand, some gay males (especially ones who are not ‘out of the closet’ yet), will go out of their way to show how much they despise gay males and the gay community altogether. It’s simply a way for them to try and hide their true feelings and make it seem like they are, in fact, straight. That being said, if the guy tends to bring up the gay community in a negative way, and often, he might be trying to hide something from you- and maybe hide something from himself, too. 8. He Doesn’t Give Girls “Normal” Compliments Like Every Other Dude When you wear a new dress or get your hair done, most men won’t even notice. And if they do, they’ll most likely say something like, “Wow, you look sexy” or “You look beautiful”. Those are just the normal things men say- they aren’t really ones for going overboard with hundreds of adjectives thrown into every compliment. But if this guy tends to throw out compliments that are simply not masculine and way too fashionable, there may be a problem. For instance, a guy shouldn’t be complimenting you on how well a girls red Gucci dress matches with your gorgeous high heels and how it would look even better if she threw on a leather jacket to tie the look together or that the hair looks lovely but she might want to go with a blunt cut since your hair is on the thin side. Hair and outfits are two things most men aren’t interested in nor know a thing about- unless he’s gay. 09. He Spends the Night at His Guy Friends Often As men get older, the idea of having a slumber party gets less and less exciting. In fact, the thought of having another guy spend the night is almost repulsive- unless they are best friends and one will be snoozing on the couch. If this guy is spending a lot of his time at a guy’s house- and overnight, too- he may be ‘seeing’ this guy in much more than a usual friendly manner. http://cliniconomy.com/10-accurate-signs-on-how-to-tell-if-a-guy-is-gay/ |
Members of the Commercial Taxi Drivers Union in Bwari, FCT, on Wednesday staged a protest against what they called harassment and maltreatment by Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO). News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported, at Ushafa Community, the drivers said that the activities of the road traffic officials caused road crashes. The drivers said that their protest was triggered by the death of a pregnant woman last Saturday in a car accident caused by officials, who tried to maltreat a commercial driver who was in motion. While some of the drivers carried tree branches, some others ensured they forced passengers in painted taxis to disembark to allow their colleagues to participate in the protest. Mr Mohammed Daudu, who spoke on behalf of the protesters, said they were protesting to attract the attention of the Federal Government and to demand its intervention to stop the incessant harassment. “They disguise themselves in mufti to arrest defaulters. “The officials waylaid a driver on Saturday and in their bid to catch him, they hooked the hand break in the vehicle. “The incident resulted in the car hitting an electric pole; that was the main cause of the death of a pregnant woman who was a passenger in the vehicle. “We have embarked on the strike to press home our protest that no commercial vehicle will carry passengers from Bwari to the central area. “We appeal to the government to intervene in the matter and also help us to recover the 20 impounded vehicles belonging to our members from the officials. “The officials must release our vehicles and give them back to us. “The officials should wear their uniform when on duty instead of wearing mufti and disguising as passengers intimidating us.“ Speaking with NAN, the Divisional Police Officer of Bwari, Mr Danladi Isa said that the protest, which started at about 6 a.m., attracted security operatives, who went to the scene to ensure the safety of lives and property of citizens. According to him, normalcy has been restored to the community and everybody can go about their business. “Early hours of this morning, we received information that the taxi drivers union (was) demonstrating at Ushafa junction. “I quickly mobilised my men and I am still on ground; I have addressed them and they have complained about maltreatment by the officials and that was the basis of their protest this morning. “I have talked with them on the need to conduct themselves peacefully; a lot of them have dispersed; the road is clear and commuters are moving without hindrance on the highway.” NAN reports that an attempt to get the view of the Chief Officer of the VIO, Bwari Branch on the matter did not yield result, as he rebuffed all efforts to have him speak. http://www.mixtgist.com/2015/07/commercial-taxi-drivers-in-abuja-protest-harassment-by-vios.html |
A Beninoise, Kwenume Ojo, aka Abiodun, has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing her husband, Jimoh Ojo, 32, in the Yaba area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that Kwenume put poison in her husband’s soft drink and forced it down his throat while he slept on the bed. Our correspondent gathered that the 17-year-old suspect took the poison from a relative of her boyfriend after she was forced to marry Jimoh. The incident happened on Friday on Apolo Street, the Makoko area of Lagos. When our correspondent visited the area, he met a crowd of residents and family members who said the victim’s corpse had been deposited in a mortuary. It was learnt that the suspect had been arrested by policemen from the Adekunle Police Division. Jimoh’s in-law, Rotimi Akinlagun, explained that the deceased was retarded, which made it difficult for him to get a wife. He said his marriage to Kwenume was arranged by the two families. He said, “Jimoh was a carpenter. When he was born, he fell sick and that affected his health as he became retarded. “When he became mature, we decided to get him a wife. We started asking around for anybody who could give him a wife. “Kwenume’s father heard and he contacted Jimoh’s family. He gave them Kwenume to become Jimoh’s wife. She had no choice in the matter.” PUNCH Metro learnt that Kwenume’s father took the decision to prevent her from marrying her boyfriend, who he did not like. The dislike, it was gathered, stemmed from the maltreatment of Kwenume’s sister, who was married into the boyfriend’s family. “She was brought to me and we took her to Jimoh’s hometown in Yewa, Ogun State. He was going there to make love with her. After six months, she became pregnant and we brought her back to Lagos State. “The couple moved into a new apartment to start a new family. Their apartment was close to my house so I could monitor them. Abiodun (Kwenume) was assisting my wife to sell food at her canteen,” Rotimi added. Our correspondent learnt that after giving birth to a baby girl, christened Hannah, the suspect became attracted to her former boyfriend and she started visiting him. She was said to have met his elder brother, Wensu, an herbalist, who allegedly gave her the poison to put in her hubby’s drink so she could marry the unidentified boyfriend. Jimoh’s elder sister, Modupe Akinlagun, said the victim had returned from work on the fateful Friday and visited her shop to get food. She said, “He dished the food himself and ate. After eating, I asked him to go home and rest. When his wife returned from an errand I sent her, I asked her to also return home with her baby. “I was still there when his wife came to call me that he had slumped in the toilet. “When we got there, people had surrounded him and were pouring palm oil into his mouth. He was vomiting the oil and a white substance. He kept saying, ‘Iya Hannah has killed me, she opened my mouth and poured drug inside.’ “Iya Hannah (Kwenume) denied Jimoh’s accusation, but he insisted that she forced the poison down his throat.” Another relative explained that Kwenume put the poison in a bottle of drink that the victim had brought home to share with her. He said, “They usually shared their food and drinks together. After he finished eating at the canteen that day, he bought a bottle of drink and drank half. He took the remaining home to share with his wife. “It was when she returned that she put the poison in the drink. She then forced it down his throat.” Modupe’s husband said Jimoh died around 11.30pm on Friday. He said the community elders took Kwenume aside to press her for information on where she got the poison. He said after some time, she confessed to the crime, adding that she collected the poison from her boyfriend’s brother who lived in the Sogunro, Iwaya area of the state. He said, “Around 3am on Saturday, a policeman, together with some of our people went to get the man.” The two suspects were said to have been kept till dawn until a team of policemen from the Adekunle division arrived in six vans. PUNCH Metro gathered that some youths attempted to lynch both suspects, but for the intervention of the policemen. The traditional ruler of the Egun community, Seriki Dito, urged the police to do a thorough investigation and punish the culprits. He appealed to governmental and non-governmental organisations, to assist in taking care of the couple’s child, Hannah. He said, “This is something that has shaken our community terribly. We want the government to give the deceased justice. We also want help for the girl because she is almost an orphan now.” The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, adding that it had been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation. He said, “The woman and her accomplice are in custody. The case has been transferred to the DCI for investigation.” Source>>>> http://www.mixtgist.com/2015/06/woman-poisons-husband-over-boyfriend.html |
The Presidency, through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, has instructed the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko, to refund over payment of salaries running into millions of naira. The Registrar of the university, David Suowari, was also directed to refundthe sum of N130, 692.71 per month in excess of his due salary. The over payments were said to have been discovered during the commission’s visit to the institution on May 12, 2015 to carry out an inspection of FUO’s remuneration practices vis-a-vis the extant government’s pay policy. The VC and the registrar were accused of appropriating certain allowances to themselves which were not approved by the government. These concerns were raised in a letter from the NSIWC to Aluko, signed for the Chairman of the Commission by the Director of Compensation, Chike Ogbechie. The commission said, “The findings of the inspection in respect of your institution (Federal University, Otuoke) were as follow: “The Vice-Chancellor was being paid total emoluments of N1,970,476.76 monthly, whereas he should not earn more than N922,810.23 if he were paid furniture allowance en bloc earlier, or N1,043,176.79 if he were being paid furniture allowance. “Much of the difference was attributed to certain allowances which were not approved by the government.” In the case of the registrar, the commission said he was being paid N130,692.71 in excess of his due salary of N502,580.25. The commission also said the university disaggregated its staff salaries against the government’s policy of pay consolidation. The NSIWC, therefore, directed the university to stop “the wrongful practices” and comply with relevant rules and rates. The commission added, “We hereby direct the vice-chancellor and the registrar to refund the cumulative overpayments made to them. “You are to report to the commission in writing, your compliance with this directive within four weeks of this letter.” Prof. Mobolaji Aluko became the Vice-Chancellor of the university in February 2011 and he said (in a text message to our Punch correspondent) that there was neither disaggregation of salaries nor overpayment of salaries. The vice-chancellor said, “Rather, pension and health insurance allowances were due to three of us, Diaspora Vice-Chancellors who are on Sabbatical from our foreign universities, and co-paid monthly in naira to us for payment to those foreign universities. “Without that concession occurring, our own local salaries would have been wiped out completely, and we could not have accepted the job.” “However, the need for accountability is welcome, and Salaries and Wages Commission will be fully reconciled to the full facts,” the VC stated. http://www.mixtgist.com/2015/06/president-orders-vc-of-federal-university-otueke-to-refund-overpaid-salaries.html |
ANGRY youths, yesterday, brought commercial activities in markets in Anambra State to a standstill following alleged plan by the Federal Government to transfer suspected Boko Haram prisoners to Ekwulobia Prison in Aguata local government area of the state. Thousands of the youths blocked major roads in the state, including the Head Bridge and the Enugu Onitsha expressway in Onitsha, as well as the popular Zik Avenue in Awka, causing traffic gridlock for several hours. Though the protest was peaceful, policemen in Onitsha were later seen firing teargas canisters to disperse the protesters. The security operatives, later joined by soldiers stationed at the Uga junction on Atani Road, were also seen removing the barricades used by the youths to block the roads. In all the cities in the state, the youths waved placards with inscriptions that read, “We don’t want Boko Haram prisoners in Anambra”; “Buhari, Igbos will not accept your prisoners”; “Anambra is special and secured”; “Anambra is not a party to terrorists and should not be involved in it”; “We say no to Boko Haram people in Anambra” and “Buhari, why Anambra”. At the Ekwulobia Prison, which was named as the likely new abode for the Boko Haram prisoners, there was nothing on ground to show that a large number of inmates were brought in there. Some officials of the prison however said that they heard a rumour that some prisoners from the northern part of the country would be brought there. According to them, “there was nothing on ground to show that new inmates were being expected as the situation here has not changed.” President General of Anambra Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, AMATAS, Dr. Okwudili Ezenwankwo, who addressed reporters in Onitsha, said they had from a very reliable source that plans had been concluded to bring suspected Boko Haram prisoners to the state, adding that they would do everything within their power to resist it. Pressed to say how they got information that such prisoners were to be brought to the state, Ezenwankwo said: “We have our ears on ground and that is the much we can say for now. We were informed that federal government wants to transfer the Boko Haram to Anambra State and this is unacceptable to us. “If you visit the Ekwulobia Prison, you will discover that something is going on there. We are not against President Muhammadu Buhari, but we want him to keep these special prisoners where they belong. “We know our president is a good man and he will not do anything that will cause insecurity in this part of the country to add to the existing one caused by Boko Haram insurgents. Anambra is peaceful and we don’t want Boko Haram to come and cause confusion.” According to Ezenwankwo, Anambra traders have already brought the matter to the attention of Governor Willie Obiano, adding that the governor was mandated by the traders to take their protest over the matter to President Buhari. Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Uche Eze, said the situation was properly handled because the police was on top of the situation. The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has reacted to claims by Governor Nyesom Wike that immediate past governor, Rotimi Amaechi will be probed. In a statement signed by the party chairman in the state, Dr. Davies Ikanya, the APC describe the to-be probe as a wild goose chase. Last week Wike assigned a seven-man Judicial Commission of Inquiry with Justice George Emereji as chairman to investigate the immediate past administration. However, the party said Amaechi ran a transparent administration reminding the governor of how, his predecessor always gave account of his expenses to Rivers people on a quarterly basis during his eight years in office as governor. The party alleged that Wike’s effort to probe Amaechi and spoil his good name was to prevent the governor from being appointed a minister by President Muhammudu Buhari The party said: “One thing Chief Wike and his collaborators fail to understand is that President Buhari knows the politics of Rivers State as he knows his fingers. President Buhari is fully aware that Amaechi and his associates are being viciously persecuted by Wike because he engineered the ouster of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the President of Nigeria and the election of President Buhari. “Apart from the above, Chief Wike is embarking on this worthless vindictive venture knowing very well that he will soon be ignominiously sacked by the Election Petition Tribunal since he never won the election, but was imposed by Rivers INEC in collaboration with the then-ruling Peoples Democratic Party. “Justice Emereji and co should not allow Wike to rubbish the good name they have spent decades to build. “Deep down in him, Chief Wike is aware that if the panel he set up is to do an impartial job, the only issue they will find to be absurd throughout the administration of Rt. Hon. Amaechi will be the contracts for road construction in four local government areas of Port Harcourt, Nkwerre, Abio-Akpor and Obigbo that Chief Wike cornered for himself and his cronies, but never executed after pocketing billions of Naira. “The other would be the contract for schools which Chief Wike also cornered without executing,” the party added. Amachi and Wike has been involved in a war of words over allegations that Amaechi looted the state government house by removing all the valuables and spending the state money to fund projects for his party and his for his personal use. On Friday, Wike claimed he met an empty treasury upon assumption of office on May 29. Earlier today,Wike accused Amaechi of squandering up to N800m on Indian consultants to run the Nne Kurubo Model School at Ebubu-Eleme. http://www.mixtgist.com/2015/06/apc-explains-why-wike-is-witch-hunting-amaechi.html |
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has urged on all Nigerians to avail themselves the opportunity of enrolment into the National Identity Database and be issued a National Identification Number (NIN), which is the single version of truth and the foundation identity stating that all transactions involving the identification of individuals must be done with the National Identification Number (NIN) beginning from 1st September this year. In a statement yesterday, the Commission’s General Manager, Inspectorate, Regulatory & Compliance Services, Mrs. Hadiza Dagabana said, “any government agency/institution, bank, insurance company and all other institutions offering services and/or involved in transactions requiring the identity of an individual must first demand for the NIN. Any individual, institutions/body who fails to comply with the above has committed an offence under the punishable under section 28 of the NIMC Act,” http://www.mixtgist.com/2015/06/national-identity-number-to-be-made-compulsory-from-september.html |
The Police has paraded a man identified as Ita Daniel, 71, in Akwa Ibom State along with others for killing his wife with a machete. President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly accepted the transition committee’s recommendation to reduce the number of ministries from 42 to 19. The decision allegedly comes following three weeks of consultations with political leaders both inside and outside Nigeria, Vanguard reports. The committee had previously recommended the move because “portfolios of ministries are not responsive to all the major critical national challenges.” By slashing some and merging of some other ministries, Buhari plans to save cost and make the remaining departments more effective and responsive to the needs of Nigerians. Presidency source also disclosed that the number of the federal government agencies had been trimmed in line with the policy of the administration. According to is, no fewer than 50 of the MDAs that were not backed by relevant laws might be scrapped and their staff moved into relevant departments to save cost. “But the point being made is that relevant MDAs that will exist under the present administration must be those backed by laws. What that means is that the era of doing things the wrong way to please certain persons in positions of power is over.” The source said that the Ministry of Aviation and relevant agencies would be subsumed with Inland Waterways; the Ministry of Agriculture – with the Ministry of Water Resources; the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission would be merged with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission. Some ministries will be run by senior ministers while the others will be managed by junior ministers to save cost, it was mentioned. President Buhari is believed to announce some key appointments next week. He attributed the delay to the late receipt of the report from Goodluck Jonathan’s committee. The APC leader further explained that he needed time to carefully study the document in order to chose the best candidates for the positions.
