Yes liverpool came out to play, we acknowledge that, even with there determination it had to be an OG to equalise. No excuses though, a goal is a goal as long as it's within the rules of the game.

Bad debut game for Berba.

UNITED were Really not into the game, but i think Liverpool were more determined and played for the win.

Arsenal had success between 1997 - 2005 where they either won the league or finished runners up. The last few years has seen these standard drop and my questions is, are we failing as a club? We have no devine right to win trophies or come second every season but so do United and a Chelsea but look at them once they had that success, they are trying to improve every other season.

Once you had success in something, your only aim should be to maintain that success over a long period of time which in our case, Arsenal is failing to do. Finishing in the top 4 has actually become more acceptable to the club and most fans. We are also justifying why we are not winning by giving excuses like transition, lack of spending, youth etc

For the past 16 years, United have dominated the PL and have set the pace for other teams to catch up with. The most they went without any trophy was a season. Now that is success in my books and credits to them for that no matter how much i naturally hate them.

Liverpool for example have failed completely over the past years despite winning a few trophies simply because they have failed to maintain their earlier standards. Going for 18 years without winning the league is a failure

You can say we are building for the future but nothing is guaranteed in the future.
Maybe. . . . . Just maybe Arsene is trying to break this record grin grin grin grin grin

My bad.

folahann:
Yeah, just as every player who leaves a club needs to be thanked. Chelsea thanked Shevchenko a lot for the 2 seasons so why shouldn't Arsenal thank Hleb.

Deepen your shallow Brain, look beyond where you currently look; why aren't Gunners "saying stuffs" about Gilberto Silva.

It's not about leaving the team, it's the way you leave that matters. Upon all flops: Senderos is wished good luck at AC Milan. Connect your eyes with your brain before you land your fingers on the keyboard next time.
You are a Arrow. . . and a really pathetic one for that matter.

What is this gibeish that you have typed, What exactly is wrong with the way hleb left your club, the guy was frustrated that the Arsenal could not help him achieve his dream. if you dont know its a symbiotic relationship most players have with there clubs, both parties are supposed to help each other achieve there dreams. Arsenal is looking like a team that uses players to offset their debts. As a player i want to win trophies to be able to show ma children and not help the club fill the stadium so as to settle payments and then come short of trophies because adequate re-enforcements were not bought to support the main team.

How can one be happy playing for a team where players are sold just to make profit at the expence of winning anything.

You are a bigger fool, if you can even compare Gilberto with Hleb at his prime, why would they say stuff about Gilberto, was he not past his prime, how many games did he play for Ass Anal last season, what was his overall contribution. when Gilberto was missing what effect did it have on the team. infact when he came on he more of a reliability than an addition, you Doofus. . . . .

From your Rantings, you did not disprove anything i said, and the gilberto stuff just shows that your brain is invertly proportional to your reasoning. Brain surgeons are going to have a hard time deciphering what the heck is wrong with your brain.

Your team got tired last season, and could not maintain the momentum in which they started the campaign probably because Gay idiots like you were busy chasing Fab4 all over the place for a shag and the poor boy got tired from running away from you.

BLOODY GIZARD!!!!!!!

My point exactly. How many shots @ goal did he even take all his days with us,
If he hadn't left in the manner he did,I would have pretended that his many dribbles that more often than not ended with the ball in our opponents possesion were really not annoying
The funny thing bout 95% of gayners is that they always look for someone to blame when things go wrong with the team. If Aw buys a player knowing that the strong point of that player is not scoring but holding the ball, and that player does that well but games are not wrapped up as expected, do you then blame the player.

Everybody cannot be a prolific goal scorer, some are gifted in the art of holding the ball or creating chances and shud be judged on that most of the time. Why heap blames on Hleb, is it because he left your sorry Ass team. tongue tongue tongue

Manchester united did the double and we all know what a player Anderson is, he has not scored in a UNITED shirt, But we all appreciate what he contributes to the team.

Leave Hleb alone, if he wanted to leave your ambitionless club for a better one is his prerogative. This is the same Hleb that was praised for his exploit in the Arsenal jersey last season when Arsenal was topping the league, because he has left, y'all want to compare someone who has just started with your team with Hleb who contributed alot to your quest last season. Or is it because of Hleb Arsenal lost the the title. Last time i checked soccer is a team sport and winning and/or loosing must be scrutinised wholistically.

Nasri is scoring now, he is the best thing since Hleb left, when he gets crocked or his form dwindles or the goals dry up and his contributions are quite below par, then this same guys would come here to say 'he started well but he is not Arsenal's quality or first team material'

Hleb could not score to save his life, Nasri's contribution in just about 2games has suppassed what Hleb did the entire season, Nasri has scored more goals than Hleb. 2goals out of arsenals 4. please these are early days, lets see how he will cope when push turns to shove by dec/jan. am just gutted by the way Gayners criticize a player and praise very mundane things.

Wishing your best player thus far, Eboue, a long stay in Arsenal grin grin grin

Let Hleb be, he is AC Milan Property now.

Seun opening this thread and asking us for any belated opinion reminds me of the maradonic days of IBB. IBB would deliberately put the nation on a wild goose chase while organizing a national discourse on an issue.

However, what he's going to do is right on his mind and no matter the outcome of the hithertho discourse, IBB would do what he would do and Seun, the Khalifa of Nairaland would also do what he's going to do too.

@ Seun

Why would a thread be opened for every game? are you also talking about Hannover 96 Vs Bochum? The sports section already has it Big 4 thread, 98% of the suppourters here post in those threads. Little wonder you and Folahan began contesting for who can open the most threads in a micro-second.

What a repulsive and grotesque way of improving the sports section. Imagine, opening a United V Portsmouth thread, and Fulham Vs Arsenal thread, when an existing thread of Arsenal and United is there for all to post in. It seems you don't know your way around the footie section.

Buddy, I'll suggest you carve the sports section out of the main Nairaland forum and auction it off. Trust me, it would fetch you an handsome reward even more than what you would have earned from the web traffic and Ads revenues if its still part of Nairaland ( Could the web traffic be the reason why you want forumers to churn out bogus threads like the way Nigerian Universities churn out intellectual-deficit people) ?

@ Debosky,

You made a valid point.

Why push the panic button because a team lost a game!!!!
Eboue was magical on Saturday. He made 2 brilliant runs and even poked shots at the Fulham goal.
The whole team stuttered. . . . .I cannot even blame any individual for what happened.
Wenger should use this defeat to rally his boys back and get back to their winning ways.

Heard Senderos is off to Milan. . . . grin Can he bench Nesta? grin cheesy
@ H

Dont blame any Gayner for pushing the panic button. The way AW has been behaving in the transfer market is enough cause for any concerned Gayner to build a house on the panic button. Look at it this way, Recently, we all know that Gayners are always off on a flying start and at the end of the season they still come short. What do you think will happen now that they have this shaky start.

The issue here is that most Arsenal fans are not comfortable with the composition of the team and do not feel that they would be able to even play catch up if they stutter this early in the campaign. its not a matter of when games are lost but how a team can reduce the number of games lost or making sure they win more games than loosing or draw over the 38games, because its all about 3points.

i can confidently tell you that if Man U looses the next two games i'll still expect them to challenge for the title, but Arsenal fans cant have that confidence, and i cant blame them.

Where Debo gets his optimism, i dont know, the team is not about Eboue's performance or lack of it. it has a lot to do with the quality, quantity and confidence/psyche of the the team, which IMO is Low right now.

So what is your point now

That pompey has not turned up or that they have decided to play the way they are playing.

Why are you being overtly biased and blind. Does this mean you made the statement because of what was said about your team last week.

Pompey did not play like this last week, but we know that Chelsea was awesome last week and would prolly have beaten any team last week. but i dont think it would have been 4-0 if pompey had played what they are playing today.

AW should be ashamed of himself, buying a 31yr old injury prone benchwarmer from a rival shocked shocked shocked shocked

And why Fergie sold to the gayners' is another mistery. But looking at it this way its easier for us to let silvestre go than it is for Le Arses to imagine him in a Gayner shirt. i guess its too late now.

Loyika even says he would not celebrate if he scores at OT grin grin grin grin

Seriously. . . . . Silvestre will bring some stability to your defence, if paired with kolo, it frees Gallas to man your DMF position. That can be a good option for Wenger.

it seems you've been deprived of sucking Wengers dick for too long, thats why you and wenger prolly have your priorities crossed.

You are talking bout the issue being the fact that the said player is from the enemy, didn't Wenger know that he plays for United b4 contemplating buying him. Then u try to justify how shitty your team has been, doing business with supposed Enemies.

Try harder you might be able to ward off J Unit and get another shot at Wenger's Dick, it might do both of you some good. tongue tongue
