Nobody thinks its going to be a roller coaster ride this time around, but if you have confidence in your team, then you are permitted to brag to a certain level. i think MU fans have that right. Eat your heart out.

The same conditions were there last season, those conditions have been there since the EPL started, just that its getting tougher each year, we acknowledge that. but like i said our confidence, quality and quantity of players should give us a good leverage this time around. We coped with it last season, why should we not feel we can do it again. we have stuttered this first game, other teams including your new found love Chelski, will also stutter.

We are watching things.

I'm sure y'all will keep saying this is how we started last season; but remember that the other teams have the benefit of last season as well; they saw how they failed to capitalise on the scumtwats' slow start to build an early lead, and Chelski most especially seem to be in a ruthless mood, even with only one first choice striker around, they scored 4.
It's definitely not going to be like last season IMO. . . . there are going to be very interesting clashes coming up this time around. cool
@ Debo

The bolded statement is neither here nor there.
Who has been saying 'thats how we started last season' ?. . . . . .the fact that other teams saw how they failed to capitalise on our slow start, does not mean this time around they'll win all their games because we drew the first match.

And as for chelsea, they won 4nil also does not mean they'll win the the remaining 37 games. i remember a certain Ass-Anal team that blasted their way to the top of the PREM and maintained it for long period of time, only to capitulate when it mattered.

Its just the beginning, lets see how things pan out.

Debo, come up with a more robost argument.

Pay this Arse no heed dearie.

Don't fret so much.Fergie is not the type to make desperate moves like AW.No matter how bad a situ is,Fergie still makes sensible decisions, tho the sensibility may not be glaringly obvious at that point.
Berba's 27,but since when did that become a soccer crime? Or a certification of inability? He can still perform. If he couldn't Fergie wouldn't have gone for him,i assure you.Hez got skill and class, and he is a good finisher ; he'll still get polished up to a glossy shine @ OT.

@loyika

He may be a sulker,so what?Should he go around grinning like some looney super star? Besides,United peops are the friendly type,we can charm the socks off any fellow player/fan. Y'all will soon see a smiley Berba grin .Happy and proud to be wearing an AIG jersey. As for keeping to himself in the dressing room,i wonder when this Arse saw Berba in United's dressing room.Perhaps its tough for people to realize that being at OT is different from being anywhere else. 27's good - heck, experience does count. Ask Arsene's young 'uns if that's a lie  tongue
United fans preferring Hunter doesn't mean Berba's a dolt. Its not like your camp could even dare to dream of getting him. Berba's here now,and he will blend in with the United style and get even better. Afterall we weren't the ones considering Obagoal as a viable option tongue
True talk Criz, no matter what Berba's quality. I guess them Arses shud learn that Fergie gets what he wants grin grin grin

Its a good thing we were talking bout two quality signings, and at last Fergie landed Berba. Was one of those who would have preffered the Hunter, but since we now have berba then let the Party begin grin grin grin grin

Berba is now in United he would be Grinning like this  grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin while playing/banging in goals against lil boys like them Arses tongue cool

Jack Wilshire, Henri lansbury and Mark Randall have just been promoted, lets see how they turn out.

You all harp on about Arsenal this and that; HOW MANY BLOODY PLAYERS HAVE COME THROUGH THE RANKS AT LIVERPOOL AND CHELSEA huh How many have come through the ranks at Spurs huh but its Arsenal this and Arsenal that.

You forget that Fergie has been in charge at OT for like 22 years, while Arsene has been in charge for like 11, so give the guy some credit. In Maureen's 3 seasons at Chelsea, how many players from the Academy did he give a chnace in the 1st team huh

Or your focus is only on Arsenal and Arsene huh

huh GOONER 89
So in 11years he succeeded with only Ashley, then he should not even be regarded as a successive coach.

Different clubs have different philosophy's, if chelsea wants to buy their way into winning trophies then they had better win the trophy's after the buying. i guess thats why they consider not winning the CL as failure and have reacted to it, hence Big Phil.

Real madrid pride themselves in being called the Galacticos and this phylosophy has brought them trophies, they are quite satisfied with where they are today, and even want to archieve more.

Man U will always buy when neccesary, but they also have a penchant for developing young talents that they introduce at the right time to the squad. This has brought success both domestic and in Europe.

If Arsenal's policy is tilted towards exploiting young talents to archieve success especially in Europe, then they would always be measured using that yardstick, especially if they have not won anything of note in Europe using this policy for 11years.

If all the coaches have winning there various domestic league as a plus then something must be used to separate them, eg CL and not because he can develop players or he has a good business acumen which i strongly doubt.

Like someone said, if you guys do not like the club, WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS IN THIS THREAD!? It beats logic huh

Wenger is placed above caoches like Ancelloti, Capello, Bosque, Lippi and Sacchi. One has to wonder what criteria was actually applied. He is being placed above coaches that have won medals, the statement made under his name attest to this.

The statement made about Fergie, charges him to win the CL before he can move up the table. Of which he has answered. This only confirms that Winning trophies would score more points in whatever criteria they have used.

Wenger can be a top manager by only playing good football, discovering and developing young talents and letting his players express themselves on the pitch while other managers need to win trophies to move up.

Really interesting!!! shocked shocked

papa_dims:
wenger is the best coach currently in the game. he is a coach who nurteres young talent to world class players. he is a coach who loves free expression of your skill on the pitch and at the same time makes the players play as a team. WHY did chelsea fail to keep up the tempo, because their success was bought. but in no distant future arsenal would start to win trophies and also dominate europian football. WHY? because we have started the foundation some season back and we are still building. ARSENAL has not made a significant signing for some time now and still we have finished amongst the top four for five straight seasons. i know it is only a matter of time before we start winning again.
Yes we all agree Wenger has a thing for young players and most times gets the best outta them, but this policy of Wenger has been there for God Knows how long. At this time he should be reaping from his policy and not always telling us he is still building. How long will he build?

If we agree that he nurtures players, lets them express themselves on the pitch, and makes them play as a team which we can all agree again are igredients for success, then why has he gone trophyless for 3years, talkless bout winning in europe. Maybe he abandoned the policy 3 years ago and has just started rebuilding again.

You also say in no distant future Arsenal will dominate Europe, But wait, If Arsenal have debts to pay and cant afford to pay fat salaries like other big clubs, what makes you think other clubs will not come for your 'young talents' after they have established themselves at Arsenal, ready to pay good money with potentials for winning trophies. It would even be easier for thse young players to leave if the trophy cabinet is still dusty. grin

Finishing amongst the top 4 in the Prem for a team like Arsenal should be seen as failure, except we all agree thats what you are in it for. . . . . . .That ambition would be disappointing, to say the least.

Any team can say its just amatter of time before they start winning, but if those 'winnings' do not tranlate to trophies, then Puhleeeeeeeeeeeze spare us.

@ Rikky

Its obvious that Wenger cannot be classified as a word class Coach by any standard of measurement, even if we want to include managing(business wise profit & loss) a club as part of the criteria, cos right now Arsenal seem to be in a deep financial mess.

Kudos to Spurs for squeezing that much out of them. . . now kindly do the same for Berba and UTD grin

@ dayo

the difference I was trying to highlight is the squad composition - The depth in Chelski cannot be compared to what Arsenal had, so losing one major player for Arsenal is equivalent to losing 2 players in a club like Chelski.

Toure was injured + went to the ACN, hence he was missing for about the amount of time Carva was out for. tongue
The bolded can said to be Arsenals major problem. but wait!!!!!

Arsenal has no depth asper quality replacements for first team players, injured or those that have left. so what should Arsene do? buy QUALITY Players, These quality players apparently do not come cheap. He is now retrained by debt and his frugal nature aka stingyness.

Hence the buying of cheap infants to replace first team players .
I guess Arsene already has a lotta excuses for failure.

The prayer now is, hope these infants can click in there first season in the PREM to bring a trophy, even if its the CC grin grin
