you can feel the HEAT, TENSION AND ANXIETY everywhere. . . . . .
Damn it, You can even Touch it.

Today is the day we expect english soccer to express itself to the fullest.
Chelsea Vs Manchester United it can't be any better.

@ Emperoh
How u doing?
I agree the first 10-15mins will be cautious, but i want Fergie to go gung-ho if there is no goal after 15mins.
We should not be scared of playing our sweet flowing football as thats what brings out the best in the team, if we try to respect or be too cautiuos we migth give chelsea the drive and confidence they need to make them believe.
i just hope our midfielders would be able to express themselves.

Chelsea are no push overs and they definitely also have a plan, this should be quickly read and assessed by Fergie within those first few minutes for adequate reaction. Guess AG would be doing same.

An early goal by either side will even make the tie more explosive.

Without sentiments, i'll give it to UNITED grin

Damn I forgot!!!!!!!!! Those Twins would be a welcome addition to UNITED.

First we need to DO chelsea in the CL.

Was it Dynamo Kiev we thumped 4-0 in the CL earlier this year? when we were on a four goals spree earlier in the season.
We have been to that side of the globe this season and triumphed so, i expect de ja vu grin grin grin

Gast to go!

UNITED 4 LIFE!!!!!!!!

@Xerxes

I get your point but i also think we had to spend big last summer, no doubt the fantastic Four have definitely make the difference for us this season. The point am trying to make is that those Big summer signings are quite young in age and we shud use them till they start dwindling in form or become injury prone.

We have been talking bout signings and we have only been talking bout a RB and out and striker, which other department do you think we need to Buy?

Strikers Rooney, Tevez, Huntelaar(if we get him) manucho
Midfield Fletcher,Nani,Anderson,Carrick,Ronaldo,Hargreaves, Park, Scholes and probably Giggsy
Defender Rio, Vidic,Brown, Evra, O'shea The new RB whoever, Pique(if he does not go2 Barca) and Silvestre

This line up will make Wengay Faint anyday grin grin grin grin

The defence is probably where we need some backup most, both RB and LB i presume.
Is sylvestre going to bordeaux?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 3:51pm On May 19, 2008
Like the ARSES will always says 'spending big does not guarantee trophies"
We have also pointed out here that a Huntelaar, Rooney,Tevez, Manucho combo will be hot for any defence.
Fergie got away with only Rooney as the fit striker because of the very Rich midfield that we posses, Gush, that midfield would make Derby County strikers score 20goals a piece through the campaign. We also had a bit of luck, well who doesn't cool

Let RA spend big, at the end of the day he needs a very astute coach to manage whatever big names he would buy, at the end of the day the players still have to show their worth on the field of play. if you have too many BIG names in your team sometimes it may lead to ego tripping.
loved the push chelsea gave us this season and i think we need a team like that to keep both Fergie and the boys aware of the danger.

As for Le Arse we would wait and see grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 3:28pm On May 19, 2008
By the time Man u gets all the players we are craving for we would pobably have 2 teams that can chase titiles in all fronts.
One team chases tha FA cup and Champ League, while the other one goes for the EPL and Carling grin grin grin grin

Anyways we all know that the RB position is a priority and Fergie Knows that.
Come to think of it we dont really need to spend big this summer if manucho is recalled, all we need is a RB and Out and out striker in the mode of The HUNTER.

Well guys these all kinda speculations until the deal is done and these guys put pen to paper and wear the United jersey, People like RA are looking around to splash money on players other clubs are eyeing grin grin grin grin .

Moscow will be hot, and i still believe Fergie will start the team that played Westham, if there is going to be any alteration Hargreaves might start ahead of Carrick.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 1:16pm On May 19, 2008
@Xerxes

You are soooooooo right about the scholes issue, its because Fergie has insisted that scholes will play in the final, thats why any formartion we permutate here must take him into consideration. I dont think he should start atall, but we would have to live with fergie's sentiments.

I actually placed some players on the bench, cos games like this need serious tactical clout by both coaches, every expectations must be taking into consideration Albeit, extra time and pen.
Chelsea is a very stubborn team and they sure know how to grind out results.

If Essien plays @ RB for chelsea it would somewhat weaken their midfield.

The truth is, am really not comfortable, scholes starting this one, and Why do i get the feeling that even Giggs might play a part in this one, i hope its when we are leading 3-0 and 2mins to the end of the match. grin

Did u mention Saha's name, pls dont give me heartattack b4 the game starts ooooooooo grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 12:18pm On May 19, 2008
Selection will be the issue here especially for Man U, cos everyone seems to be fit.
The tricky part would be in the Mid field, who does Fergie Play and who does he rest.
Will he be expecting to win the game in 90mins or having to be cautious, knowing it could go to extra time and then pen.

Does he rest players like tevez, hargreaves, Anderson to intoduce them later after reading the game or do we go Gong-ho and try to win it in 90mins. if these guys are going to be rested that wud mean having a scholes, ronaldo, carrick, nani/park and probably fletcher starting in the middle, with Rooney upfront, this means 4-5-1. then make changes as the game goes on. i think Fergie will start the Team that played against Westham on the last day of the Epl campaign

Chelsea will not be an easy push over cos they have a very effective midfield which is where i think the battle will be, lampard, cole, ballack, makalele are a formidable lot. Another thing is what will AG play, will he be cautios also or will he be daring enough to play a 4-4-2 Anelka and Drogba combo, which in ma opinion would keep Vida and Rio alert for the duration of the game. I think AG will be cautious in a game of that Magnitude.

All in all its gonna be one hell of match, we shall be watching.

Any other divergent views?

Fergie must make sure that stubborn westHam Club must be pummeled morow.
There must be no slip up, a win will make us a little relax Knowing a ressurected N'castle can do us a favour.
But WesHam seem to always be at their best when they come against UNITED, Anyways this one is surely going to the Wire nad we are in ploe position.

All we need to do is Win both games and whatever that rampant team called Chelsea do would not matter.

Its so funny that even when AssAnal was about 8points clear, we kept saying that we were more weary bout chelsea than Ass Anal, Now they are up in our faces both in the PREM and CL. angry

Apache,Roo, Manucho, and Huntelaar will be perfect in our attack, even when we have attacking players down we could go bact to what we used this season The 2support strikers option.

Is Fergie still interested in Berbatov? Bosingwa is a very good choice, buying him will make our midfields one of the richest in terms of quality, Hargo, Nani,Ronaldo, scholes, Park, Fletcher Anderson the list goes on.

@Reds,
I always love the arguments generated whenever we play , win or lose. Inconsequential sides never generate such heat. i also know that no matter what we do peeps will always find something to say. Ronaldo dives,he doesn't play well on the big stage, Vida makes Rio look good, Abidal is a better player than Evra , Barca had more possession, Rooney should have had 2 yellow cards, yada yada yada.  grin
Fact:
1.We are 90 minutes(or more) away from a possible 3rd Champions League trophy. No contest.  cool
2.We got to the final beaten a team touted as one of the best attacking  sides in Europe without conceeding a goal.  cool
3.We can still win 2 trophies this season(Amen)  cool
4.When  grin we do peeps would claim we won because of the Eto penalty that never was, the Ben Arfa miss, the mancini foul, the Wes Brown tackle that was not punished in the group stages, the second yellow card Rio should have got , the game Aston Villa lost and bla bla bla.  grin
5.MU has a deeper understanding of the European game . English sides understand this very well now and hence the recent successes.  cheesy
6.We are still the only unbeaten side in Europe this season and are yet to concede a goal in 5 champions league games  cool
7.The last time we were unbeaten in Europe at this stage we won the Cup  tongue
8.Ryan Giggs must be kidnapped and released 22nd May 2008  grin

Watch out for new titles but first lets celebrate another glorius night in Europe.

CONGRATULOVIA TO ALL MANCHESTER UNITED FANS.

We will relish this victory to the fullest because we bleeping deserve it.
But we need to win the competition before all this really make sense.

Anyways for now, MOSCOW HERE WE COME.

Brown was a pillar in the defence and as for Ferdinand, i dont have words to describe this guy, he made Eto'o and Bhojan look like ordinary players. Messi was the major threat but Evra was up to the task, but that messi boy sha Henry was an embarassment, think the occassion took the better of him.

Nani, Park, Carrick, Evra, Hargo and my man Scholes were in the mood yesternite.

On the otherside, i did not like the Giggs/fletcher substitution, it kinda gave Barca the Edge in the midfield. i believe the subsitution made the last fifteen minutes of the game tension soaked, at a time i actually cud not watch, not that Barca was playing too well, but because anything could have happened, a mistake by our defenders because of the slack in the midfield or an atrocious call by the ref could have turned the game around.

Did u guys see Rio telling the players to think/concentrate, that gave me confidence. cheesy

@ Gayners tongue tongue

Gayners are actually fasting and praying that Man U slips
Thats what getting outa contension early does. grin grin grin grin

Anyways we have to do West Ham and Wigan so that whatever happens with Chelsea would be meaningless.
Those last two games would be tough for both teams but a expect we shud nick.
its really gonna be interesting since its going to he wire.

Lets see how Barca copes at OT.
They also rested some key players, meaning they had tuesdays match in mind.
Cant wait.

WTF is your point anyway.
we had injured players and vidic was out with a stomach ache
Fergie changed his game plan and came out with a scoreless draw AWAY. which to us is a good result.

You are are here using your Gaynic Brains to analyse the game, and your point is neither here nor there.

I dont even know what you are on about

That Fergie changed the Game plan and came out with a Scoreless Draw or that we had some players missing and so did not play well.

Put your brains to work and make us understand what the hell you are ranting about.

Its soooo funny now, how Ass anal fans are coming up here to spew very rich bollocks.

We had to play defensively cos it was strategic, vida's illness, and for crying out loud we were playing Barca in there Backyard.

To have gotten a draw from the tie is well deserved, considering the way Barca had possession.

@ loyika

All this IF CHELSEA SCORE FIRST, OR WE TIRE OUT OR GET INJURED postulations that you are spewing only confirms that you are a real gayner.

This is football, people get tired, injured, and can score first in a game. This things do happen, Have you said anything new.

Look at the Man U squad, it is rich with players that can stand in for any one injured, THIS IS NOT ASS ANAL.

Lets see what Barca have to offer on tuesday.

Am less perturbed bout the chelsea game cos the worst that would happen is a draw. tongue
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 9:47am On Apr 24, 2008
Its obvious that the United that played yesterday was not the one we all Know.
But i think it was strategic because Fergie tries to be very cautious when playing in europe, coupled with the absense of Vidic and Anderson.

All in all, i still think it was a good performance, especially because we did not conceed.
As rightly observed by peeps on N/L Barca played like Arsenal, all possession and no Bite. They looked confused in the final third.

I was actually happy and Knew that nothing would come out of this Barca Team when Messi was substituted, he seemed to be our biggest threat. Hope we cage him at OT.

The return leg will be explosive, United will definitely up the Ante, Knowing that if they conceed then it becomes a lot more difficult. O-O draw in an away match can be considered a good result.

I Know my UNITED IS CAPABLE.

Food for thought: Santa Cruz has never scored more than 5 goals a season but when he got to EPL where defenders are scared to tackle he is on 15 already
All these arguments, na wa ooooooooo

We can give various reasons why a player did that here and could not perform there, or why this person was chosen best player and the next person we feel shoulda been given was not. its neither here nor there.

Players move and either that move revives their careers or it brings the nagative side of them, i guess we just wont know until it happens. some players are instant successess wherever they go.

@Dayo

There are reasons why your statement could be seen as flawed.

It could be that santa was playing with alotta Ninnies who could not read his positioning.
it could also be that santa himself was not adaptive.
Coach may have played him outta position.
He could also may have been continually threatened by the NAZI
He hit Form in the EPL.
