For those are arguing the laws must be obeyed, they should understand that any law that is inconsistent with superior law remains invalid to the extent of its inconsistency.

So in effect, if the laws in CU is not in tandem with the laws of NUC which sets up CU, the laws of CU remains invalid.
it is bad/irrational/inconsistent laws like this, that has brought this country to where it is today. When reasonable laws are not kept, nothing is done about it. But when draconian laws like this are flauted, then extreme measures are taken.

The gig is that they know the rules and regulations that govern the school and like the bible says,he that breaks the hedge, the serpent will bite. If Jesus was around,he would have also whipped them because i can't imagine-if they had lectures, will they go to the lecture room and stare at the lectures?obviously NO!
So why expel them, cant the authorities give them some lashes and tell em to go get their bibles.   (i guess that would be another story, flogging students in a supposed University)

Desmond O:
They should get on with life. The school is a private school not a government school where your opinions matter. So if anyone aint ok with it,then go start your own.
so if the law says they should be shot, then it is justified eh, or if it says that all female students who cud not make 1st class should be shagged, you would come here to say it is the law.

Am beginning to suspect the authenticity of this story.

How convenient.

First it was that they don't have any representation in government now its Jonathan Goodluck does not have enough power. Goodluck should scream out if he is being left out of government now or are you going to do the complaining for him?

Alams rented a crowd.

NDDC's money was with held what of the ones they have received since what have they done with it? Is it not to arm Militants?
When was the last time you landed in Calabar compare the whole city with Warri, yenagoa and other cities who get more allocation and tell me why Calabar is different.
why are you talking as if you dont know that the main problem of this country is/are corrupt, greedy, and visionless leaders who would do anything to plant their type after they have left. The ND has their fair share of them and they are majorly in the spotlight cause of the oil in their regions which the nation is dependent on.

SINCERITY is a very scarce commodity in our nation and it is only when two people fall out friendship that yuo here that one of them is trying to fight for the masses.

We know in this country that even these militants are not exactly sincere in their actions, but my grouse with yar adua is that i have not seen any conscious effort from his govt to amicably find a solution be4 declaring war.

Obj has been telling us stories about his uncompleted power projects and expects us to sympathise with him, there are people who support him claiming that it takes a long time for the DESIGNS to be completed b4 the actual project commences. mind you he was in power for 8years, Tell me does it also take 12years to build refineries so that we can refine our own crude.

he point am trying to make here is that innocent people are going to loose their lives, because this is not the best cause of action at this time.

Nigeria is known for not holding its leaders accountable, and the once that seem to be brought to book, get off with a slap on the back. where is Alams, Tafa, Etteh, Nnamani,Buhari(senate) Fayose, Atiku, Ibb, Anenih, dariye etc. these are people who have looted this country to a fault and are out there walking as free men.

Tell me why will i not steal money knowing that when am caught, i'll go thru a sham trial, probably get 6-1yr suspended sentence and come out a billionaire, thats if am tried at all.

What happened to Saro Wiwa when he tried the peaceful means?

Its really a pathetic situation because of the corrupt insincere attitude of both parties.

You said GoodLuck shud scream out, why will he scream out when this is the time for him to make his own millions as VP. most people will do that.

Did Atiku as VP scream out when he and BABA were busy chopping the Nation, after he don chop belleful and both their egos clashed thats when he started trying to fight injustice which was tied to his personal ambition to become president.

Am sure you can see the real shit we are in this country.

Look, my friend, criminals/militants, they are all the same as far as this fight is concerned now.

The genuine fight has now turned to taking advantage of the chaotic situation. Nobody knows who is fighting a good cause now, everyone, govt, militants, criminals all seems to have a selfish agenda.

Thats how sorry and pathetic we are in this country.

@senator

I agree that one shud use the little he/she has to try to sustain himself which would be a wise decision, no doubt.
But its not that simple.

for example, if i (ND people) get N100 worth of grains everyday to feed my family from a plantation around my home, and then a greater body (govt, who is supposed to have some form of devlopment impact on me) comes to this same land to plunder it. take N2000 worth of grains everyday, and then destroys the very environment where i manage to make my N100 to feed my family. I dont think even you would not react. It gets to a stage where people are resolve to using their last meagre resources to fight for they believe in.

@ Grand

ok i get your point.
If you say the discussion is bout the ND, then corruption is a major factor in the equation.

CORRUPTION, INSINCERITY AND GREED, is what this whole thing is all about, we cannot isolate them from our leaders and the situation of the ND.

Ibori, Alams, Odili, Nnamani, Igbinedion are all thieves and corrupt people at the state level, that is why when monies are allocated to the states they probably satisfy their selfish desires and then use peanuts to start a project that never gets completed. (thats why someone would be given a contract, it would not be done or completed and nobody say a thing bout it)

Ibb, Obj, Anenih, Bode george, Aborisade, Even el Rufai etc are all thieves at the federal level. That is why they would want the status quo to remain where they can continue to conieve with the oil coys to take the oil from that part while neglecting the development of the people of that region.

its a sad complicated situation.

SENATOR JD:
am doing good my brother, hope ure aight?

if u read through what okeyjazz posted and what i wrote,if u were smart enough u would understand what i meant.
if they have enough money to go buying arms and weapons to fight the government, which makes more sense using the money to start a development(no matter how small) or procure arms to fight the government? .
If your friend walks up to u and he is dying of hunger( because he hasnt eaten in 2days) and cannot eat because he has no money, you give him N2000 to go eat and off he goes to go carry a prostitute and co mes back telling you he his hungry.
would u call him wise or stupid? does that make sense to a reasonable person?
whoever said anything about kidnapping. do u read before u post at all? did i ever justify their action or the kidnappings. dude its way to early in the day ok?
okeyjazz's post attested to the fact that the monies used in buying the arms, or the monies which should have been used for development are ill gotten monies frm ransom.

You then suppOrted it by saying

SENATOR JD:
and they complain there is no development? Cant they channel such monies into productive usage?
.
Which monies are you refering to, or what do you think is the meaning of ILL GOTTEN MONIES FROM RANSOM
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by codedguy1(m): 9:58am On Jun 26, 2008
Okejazz:
But it is hypocritical of the militants to stage as freedom fighters when nothings shows real and true development in their communities with the ill-gotten monies from ransoms to innocent fishermen, expats, pepper sellers, and the rest . Rather, they buy more arms and recruit more ex-cons.
SENATOR JD:
and they complain there is no development? Cant they channel such monies into productive usage?
These are some of the most stupid contributions i have ever seen on N/L.

How can you think militants/gendames who get money from kidnappings will use that money for development? The implication of what you are saying is that, as long as they continue to get monies from the kidnappings and these monies are used for development, no matter how little that development is, it is justified. The amount of Ransom money that would have been collected by the militants, put together, is peanuts compared to what that region deserves.

That means kidnappings and asking for ransom will now be a viable way of developing the ND. huh Please you guys should try and reason like human beings, it is pathetic that your thoughts even accepts such a terrible process. Are they modern day Robbin Hood?

Please can someone tell me how many times Yar Adua has sent emiseries to the ND to Amicably find a solution, to justify his sudden declaration of war on the Militants. This is another wrong step that will not achieve anything, infact i think this war action has actually taken us a copple of steps backwards in finding a solution.

i am in no way justifying the actions of the militants but when one has been quiet over the years hoping, negotiating and praying that some sort of succour/development comes to his area, knowing that most of the money the nation is making come from his region, but year in year out you see nothing, this is what it will come down to.

The ND people are not saying that all the wealth coming from that region shud be for them alone, if the larger part of the wealth is coming from that region, with the attendant environmental problems which affects their day-to-day livelyhood, then i think they deserve more than what has been done/given to them.

Abuja was quite a barren land, see what it has become today.
Where did they get the money to build Abuja over the years, if the ND had half of the development Abuja has, we most probably would be on a round table trying to discuss further development plans, instead of making more widows and orphans, causing more grieve.

grand jedi:
A lot of injustice & corruption has gone on in this region and to continue kidnapping and
vandalising national assets by these trigger-happy nincompoops is not the solution to the
empowerment and emancipation of the people of the region.
Why do you make it sound as if it is only in this region that there has been injustice and corruption, i have said it before there are thieves everywhere both at federal and state level.
The issue here is that, as at this moment 95% of the wealth of this nation comes from that region and they deserve better treatment, especially as the drilling of oil affects there immidiate environment negatively, Do you think if the oil was found in the north or in the igbo states, that there would not be agitations if they were neglected.

Okejazz:
F#ck that!!!

Nigeria has problems no doubt, however being the President, leadership ought to come from Yaradua and not from the dictates of thieves gone wild in Niger Delta. This is a case of our country losing millions of dollars from these crooks who have refused to get a descent job ---kidnapping expats, blowing up pipelines, raping women, killing fishermen, wrecking havoc in communities, when is it going to stop? I mean who rules the country?Freedom fighters don't do crap like this and I suppose amongst the bad eggs, there might be some of them with actual good intentions-----but the vices underscores the virtues and no matter how you cut it ---order need to be in place there.  What those guys are doing isn't uplifting to the region nor the country at large.

And by propounding that Yaradua have a round table discussion with the militants is akin to pacifying armed robbers with resources when you're locked and loaded with a whole army with you. We cannot continue to send our boys to neighbouring countries when we have this quasi- hostage situation in the country.

Needless to say that some folks only listen when they lay dead on the floor.

GUN TALK!!
1. There are thieves everywhere, both as militants and as govt officials. which job?

2. Greedy, selfish, visionless people rule this country.

3. Which type of order, the type that takes the resources of the ND leave the people and place dejected and rejected.

4. He should send the whole nigerian Army to the ND, That would solve the problem one time!!!!

5. The gun talk has already started.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by codedguy1(m): 3:18pm On Jun 25, 2008
I have always mentained in my opinion that if the right things are not done from the begining of a quest, then no matter how well that quest is going, it will eventually start to face problems it ought not to face in the near future.

This saying is directed at both the militants and the government of this country. There are thieves everywhere in government in this country, both at federal and state level, they are practically the same ten and ten pence.

In asmuch as i dont support violence, i think the situation in the country is one that will definitely lead to the very situation which we find ourselves today. The system we run is a very faulty one to say the least, we claim to be a democratic state but still are controlled by the federal government who shares the wealth to the states as they deem fit. In a true federal situation the states generate their income and pay a certain % to the federal Government. The states with less potent to produce anything will be substantially considered in the equation(read somewhere sometime ago that every state in Nigeria has the potential of producing sometihing in commercial value) This will make the fed Govt less attractive and all these problems would have been reduced. If this had been agreed on from the onset of democratic rule in the country all our gnut pyramids, cotton, palm oil and all other products which we were depending on would not have fissled out so fast since the discovery of oil.

The early civilian govts and the military govts we have had are the main problems here, they established a system of GET RICH BY ALL MEANS at the detriment of the people. Weve had this oil  flowing since the oil boom period, how has it translated to the other part of the economy? BIG QUESTION.

As Per Yar adua and the militants, i believe the guy is confused because if the fed govt goes in there and defeat the militants(which i quite doubt) what is the guarantee that it does not become business as usual, which is take the oil and abandon the people.
People say that Ogoni people have succeeded in getting shell out , which is good, but at what cost. Did it have to come to this, shell has been operating in Ogoni for God knows how long, what is the fate of a child who was given birth to when shell started operations there, the child would either have had a decent life growing up if things have been done correctly (by govt and oil coy) from the onset but now that child is probably a militant as we speak.

We are in a serious situation here and i dont think declaring war will solve anything, THE REAL ISSUES ARE THAT THERE ARE THIEVES EVERYWHERE WETHER FEDERAL OR STATE READY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHATEVER THE SITUATION IS/WILL BE AND THE MILITANTS KNOW THIS. They feel its better they destroy everyhing so that nobody can cash in on it than to allow them come take the oil and neglect them, which again is not a good option.

can we ever be sincere and Honest in this country?

Which way Nigeriahuhhuhhuhhuh?

They also now have Bosingwa as new rigth back, which also frees Essien to play more in the Middle of the pack.
Now that makes the midfield more competitive. Imagine if you now add Ronaldinho.
Mikel himself has not really improved markedly in the chelsea team as most of his passes are either sideways or backwards, He is a Defensive player for Le Blues.

The question is will Big Phil who is Brazilian and ready to bring flair into the chelsea team (judging from the type of names that have been recently linked to chelsea) be able to integrate a player like mikel or develop him into what we all feel he should have been if he was used properly. i guess will all wait and see. We all Know what RA wants, Sexy football with results, the kind Manchester United plays. grin

Ronaldo has done exceptionally well for us, and am sure he himself never thought he was going to achieve this much individually this season.

The truth is if that story of shorting Fergie out is true then we don't need him.
He is a great player and i would not for ones, take that away from him or talk as if he is/was not an important part of the team, but after all said and done, MAN u does not need this type of distraction. Manchester United is greater than any player including Ronaldo.

It would be sad to see him go, but like i said we don't need this.

It would be a lovely sight, to see all them Premiership stars playing in 9ja. cool cool

@Vicade
Nobody is getting anything twisted, Ronaldo is the hottest thing in soccer right now and thats why we have the likes of Real Madrid wanting to break the bank to get him.

If Ronaldo eventually leaves Man U (which i dont see happening, especially this season) Man U will cope and very well for that matter, with the geez they'll get from selling Ronaldo, Fergie will go into the market, and guess what, you might just see 3Ronaldo type players in Man U be4 wengay can say 'whats happening' in French. That might eventually send him to PSG quicker than DuDu would recover. tongue tongue tongue

YES ManU can match 150000pounds a week, but i dont think they need to do that to keep Ronnie.
Ronaldo does not need to be loyal to anybody at this time, he knows he very hot right now, so he might want to be alittle greedy, through advises he might be getting, i wont blame him, but he should use his head and should know that he has everything going for him at OT nd should not put spanner in the works.

I might agree, Cesc owes his career to Wengay, but he was never gonna get first team shirt if he had gone to Barca, i guess he knew that, and decided to sit his Ass in Arsenal with a coach that would give him that chance.

Ronaldo has not paid his dues to SAF, but he sure paid alot this season which is why SAF will do anything to keep him?

Yeah thats what we are talking bout.

MANCHESTER UNITED- Champions of England and Europe

It was a pulsating match, but ma team sailed through deservedly.
Everyone was in the mood and i mean both teams, they gave a good account of themselves. I guess Drogba was damn frustrated, hence the slapping of vidic. It only meant one thing RED CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As per the Pen.

it was a dicey situation, i actually felt chelsea had better pen takers than Man u, but the way United players were tucking the ball into the net i was actually surprised. cech is know for not being good with pens, so that gave me confidence, but i also knew that VDS usually always follows the ball during pens, but hardly ever catches em.

RONALDO my WFOTY Missed, but he is only human, i almost past out as i saw Terry stepping up to take what wud have made us be once sulking today, but alas, the slip and all is history.

I love that guy called Anderson, he seems to be made for the big stage, stepping up and taking pen the way TERRY shud have played it. THROUGH THE MIDDLE. grin

A lot wud come to play today, the pitch, Ref, Coaches, Fans and of course the players. The team that can adapt and get into their stride quickly should/must take advantage.
All in all we should be expecting an explosive encounter.

Who wants it more? I guess we 'll find out in bout 4hrs.

Are we sure Drogba is not using Cote D'voire voodoo on Vidic grin grin grin

Men, that would be really sad, cos we need everyone Fit to be comfortable on the field for this BIG one.
Anyways we shall wait and see, maybe Fergie is up to one of his antics.

Your selection is very ok, but i think the Holy trinity might not start this one, Fergie might start park ahead of Tevez, this will make his options for substitution more open, and i hope for all the trust/confidence/sentiments SAF has put on scholes, he better be at his best tonight, cos there aint no time for sloppiness, not against chelsea in a final like this.

Dont know why Fergie has not been using Anderson in recent games, do u think the young brazilian will see action in moscow or SAF has plans for him next season. I really think that lad may be the key to keeping the midfield balanced(balanced, as in favour of Man U)

Can't really wait for this one to kick off. . . . . . .

Meanwhile, heard you are in Russia, You just had to see this one LIVE, hope its not too cold, and if it is, trust you would keep yourself warm with a Russian Lass. cool cool. just be carefull she doesn't outdo you in the D . . . . . . . . cheesy during the Vodka Binge. cool
