There are some apps that are meant to function well on a phone and others integrate well on as Desktop App.

Emphasis should be placed on functionality and purpose not if mobile app is profitable than desktop app (infact to answer that question, YES Desktop App is more profitable, only those who develop great commercial Desktop apps will say thesame).

Desktop App developers have stepped up, now they create cloud applications to make up for limitations like update, downloads, annd YES there are so many ideas waiting to become exectables on the regular PC.

I bet I can come up with an idea that can never function as a mobile or web App but very easy to convert your mobile app idea to something meaningful on PC.

The only advantage of the "mobile thing" over PC is just mobiltiy, and maybe the fact that most people are phone owners (well I still don't find this important as games and so many other apps that does not generate revenue for the phone owners are what you find on the playstore, most are utility apps like themes, players, grabbers, file transferr apps, etc

The battle of whether Desktop apps will one day go into extinction is like that of paper and electonics...if you feel paper will disappear, then start thinking of wipping your A.ss with an ipad.

adenijidav:
Hello,

I have a scratch card project. All other processes are set. I can generate the pins and export them into ms excel. But I need an application that will pick these unique pins from separate excel rows and print them on specific positions on paper. That is, the cards would already have been printed. Just to lay the pins on it uniquely. Thanks
Have you found a way to do this?

installing from cd...cv meanns computer village
It is a crack version, browse the DVD and look for the instruction, a txt file on how you'll copy payloads or just purchase the full version from Adobe.

You can also download a portable version, just google CS5 portable...portable means it does not require installation just click and it loads the environment, I've got portable Adobe CS4

ComputersRe: All My Files Have Been Encrypted By Online Hackers, what Is The Solution Please by CodeHouse: 8:29pm On Feb 12, 2015
How are we so sure it isn't someone elses files you are trying to decrypt?

Well, you could check your registry to see if there is a new program remotely installed on your PC and take it up fom there.

You get into such mess, especially when you are surfing the internet for free apps, videos, books, downloading everything that has "FREE" as a prefix, that's why it is always good to install firewall and "strong" password your files and PC.
ProgrammingRe: Nairalanders, Africa Needs A Computer Language by CodeHouse:
This post is old, anyway the possibility of having our own Programming Language is very possible, to solve the problem stated by the OP, I developed this editor to perform the following task:

1. create window

2. put 2 boxes, one button and two picture boxes

3. if person touch box1, collect wetin I'm put inside and make I'm name be baba.

4. show baba

All you need to do is type your commands without "oya" as I have made it a keyword with the tag <oya>statement<oya/> for the interpreter to understand, press enter for each statement and watch AfriCode execute it.

Note: I just saw this post and thought I should do something about it, it might not look too good and I'm yet to add the syntax and semantics sensor..it does nothing but to execute the OP's statements before compiling.

Here is the screenshot, I will upload the app later today as Nairaland and Seun would not allow files above 250Kb

@codeHouse Many thanks for voicing out an obvious fact. Please don't waste time arguing.

Nothing can be done, because the powers that be are not interested.

FACT : the fastest and surest way to get banned on Nairaland and the programming section grin is by POSTING A LINE OF CODE (Be it java, php ...).

I discovered for myself while posting an answer on this thread
https://www.nairaland.com/2123903/android-developer-sms-app-sends

I spent 30 minutes typing in the answer (code inclusive) and got banned for 24hours. I didn't contact the mods, I had more important stuff to take care of (day job).

For all the doubters, copy a line of code from your IDE and post here. One way ticket! grin

Shout out to guys like @nollyj et.c, that are innovative. I hope to give back some day, when I have a loose schedule.
Yes I noticed that code thing too..by now there should be a code tag in the text editor
