Of course the BVN is not the mark of the beast. People go crazy when their money is involved or why do you think people flooded the banks? Simple because they were told that without registration their money is at stake.

If they wanted our information, then the government is in the right position to do that through census or the National Identity Scheme..Why must the BVN exercise be attached to your Account, our money?

your scanning machine should give you that option to save in different formats, pdf inclusive but if not, just upload the scanned document into you MS office 2010 and re save as pdf.

You don't have to go through all these because you want to save records in a database, OP I understand you like QBASIC but don't limit yourself to that knowledge, using VBASIC or any other would save you lots of troubles also keep in mind updates of your application, other programmers who already program with likes of VC++,Python,Java, etc can't continue with your work, they'll rather re-write the app with OOPL.
