kikake:
Boko Haram brought Buhari to power after Boko Haram five years fight against Nigeria and Jonathan government made Nigeria's electorate see Jonathan government as weak on security.
.Boko Haram says it's fighting for a new country to be ruled through sharia criminal codes.

Boko Haram emerged after 12 northern Nigerian states adopted the use of sharia criminal codes.

Buhari thereafter said he would not rest until sharia criminal codes are used in all of Nigeria.

Buhari is on the same boat with Boko Haram fighters. So releasing and paying Boko Haram fighters by Buhari and his sharia clan is not surprising.

What is surprising are some Nigerians from the south who kick against separatist Niger delta and Biafra.

The Buhari twelve sharia states indirectly seceded from Nigeria but remain hooked up to Nigeria for economic dependence.
They didn't remain hooked to Nigeria... They remain hooked to the SE, SS and SW.

99.9% of Nigeria's revenue comes from this regions.

PMB is looking promising by starting a clean up yea that's true but he never cease to hide his feeling for SS and SE through his words, how can a leader of one country discriminate? How can he call some 5% and others 97% yet he expects d 5% to give him 100%? No they will return d 5%love to him. How can he pay deaf ears when SS and SE are being killed but rush to fight for oil and yet will expect the people to be in one country. If he really want one Nigeria and 100% love lethim shun all discrimination and racism of any sort, and let Nigerians give him chance to perform afterall Dangote didn't attend university but he is business oriented and smart. We all know that Buhari is not educated but if he is not business oriented or skillful i tell u am not in support to encourage for his support.
like 95% of northern leaders Bubu is also a tribalist.. Its not just SS/SE they dislike the entire south.

An igbo man named Aguiyi Ironsi made Nigeria a unitary state and he was killed 6 months after so the oil problem is as a result of the decision of one man. don't be deceived D:angote is not business oriented... the govt has always helped D:angote, D:angote's family owns an oil block.

The concept of culture, if clearly understood, will help you to swallow and digest what I'm about to drop.
.
You see, people that live together in an area, SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE, dress in same manner, share the same view about life and have similar/common goals, are regarded as one tribe or let's call them one nation or a country.
.
If that is the case, there will be no or very little causes of fight or discord between these people. However if there be any reason to fight, it may be one family against another and the fight can be easily settled without pulling guns or swords against one another since they understand themselves. You may take the entire Yoruba race or Igbo or the English as an example.
.
England is one country, United States Of America is one country but NIGERIA IS NOT ONE COUNTRY.
.
Nigeria is made up of different countries bounded together by constitution or whatever. Nigeria is many countries disguised as one country.
.
You see, the Yorubas were existing independently. Same thing with the Igbos and Hausas and same for every other minor tribes in Nigeria. Each of these countries existed in different regions without little or no relationship. If there was ever any relationship between these tribes before the coming of the British, it would be strictly trade. No father would even give out her daughter to be married by a man from another tribe. I really doubt if it ever happened.
.
All of a sudden, some men came and established some rules and another one in the name of Fedrick Lugard decided to join different tribes (different countries) together and pronounced them as one nation; Nigeria.
.
It might have worked somehow fine for a very fleeting moment in time past but it cannot endure forever.
.
And that is what you can see happening now. The Igbos want to be alone, Niger-Delta wants to carve their own niche and stand alone. Any small issue on social networks, you see punchlines, Igbos against Yoruba, Yoruba against Hausas....
.
In fact, an Igbo friend told me he believes the Hausas are planning civil war secretly. He argued this by pointing to Buhari's appointment so far. That is to say the prominent and sensitive positions of authority are given to the northerners. The positions that has to do with the nations security. Seriously, I found myself buying what he said. I have always been a supporter of one Nigeria but what he said got me. I couldn't help it. I felt a bigger love for my Yoruba brethren than I could offer an Igbo or Hausa or any other tribe. I can't pretend. It's real.
.
Well, my friend wasn't trying to forecast doom but I too, can smell something here- A war is likely around the corner and Buhari and the northern carbals are holding strategic positions in order to be able to strike deep and hard.
.
If you have ever read about the Rwanda Genocide of 1994; how the Hutus massacred the Tutsis. Over 800,000 Tutsis died and few Hutus. That "Operation cut the tall trees".
.
Well, I pray this type of occurrence won't happen in Nigeria o.
.
We had better make the Marcedonian's call today. We need help. We need a saviour.
They are not planning any civil war, Bubu is a tribalist.... whatever war they are planning already started years ago since the time of Dan fodio... If your friend is just noticing it then you and your friend need to read Nigeria's history...

they have been attacking southerners even before you were born... I guess you're just waking up....

I, frankly, in all honesty, do not give a shi.t how rich Nigeria is. Did you sleep with electricity all night long last night? Are your roads flooded because they are poorly constructed and need to be fixed? Are your General Hospitals lacking even clean public toilets and Hand Sanitisers?

If all that is true, then Nigeria is a poor country.

But how is that pride of yours, hope it makes through the flooding and bad traffic this morning and helps your iron your short with no light

Some people live in poor neighbourhoods with old looking houses but the inside of the house is state of the art ..
Some people don't drive state of the art cars.
Some people don't experience power outage in Nigeria .

Just because some people don't own state of the art luxuries does not mean they are poor.

All the things u've listed have been provided for. Its bad management that is the problem.

Nigeria is a badly managed country...

I did not say that.
There ARE poor Europeans.

Just like any sane person will point to the Northern Nigeria as a specific impoverished area in Nigeria, that is the same way Africa will be cited when speaking of poverty in the world.

Europe does not have poverty problems as Africa does.

Are you mad at the lad for saying £100m can help a poverty stricken African nation? Is it a lie?
I'm vexing for your reasoning capabilities... £100m is nothing to Nigeria...

Europe has poverty problems but they don't broadcast it the way they tarnish Africa.

4 Fulani presidents from a region that has some of the worst human indices on the planet. Not one of those presidents did anything positive worth talking about. The best of them is Yar'adua who came into power because 'he wasn't corrupt', they ignored the fact that his wife is.

This is why I'm angry with Igbos and Yorubas. Instead of realizing that they have both made progress over the past 20 years (unlike the North) and work together to build Nigeria into something great they choose to fight each other. Very silly people.
plaetton:
Whereas the above statement may be construed as being tribalistic, the GLARING FACTS of Nigeria's sordid history ATTESTS to it's VERACITY.

That both OBJ and GEJ united Nigeria by running truly pan-Nigerian administrations where merit took priority over tribe really really annoyed the northern elites.

That both OBJ and GEJ expanded the middle class ( dominated by southerners) really really annoyed the northern elites.

That both the OBJ and GEJ invested so much on education , Northern education especially, was taken as an unforgivable insult to the northern feudal elites.
How dare OBJ and GEJ remind them of the their glaring failures against their own people.

The irony is that the type of hatred that the northern elites have GEJ or anything related to GEJ administration is oddly directly proportional to the high level of attention GEJ paid to northern education and economic development.

Again, this might appear like a tribalistic rant, but let's do away with the political correctness and call a spade a spade. After all, Buhari and brethren have absolutely NO pretences about political correctness or their agenda.

Let's take a minute and reflect, for those old enough, that anytime things appear to be getting good in Nigeria , the northern elites intervene to take us back a few decades.

Look back at 1983, when this same Buhari committed treason against his fatherland by overthrowing a Democratic government, a growing and maturing democracy.
What happened to Nigeria thereafter ? undecided

Let's look back at 1993 when the whole nation united and voted for a new Democratic government, MKO Abiola.
Again, what happened next?
The same northern elites scuttle that peaceful transition that would have united Nigeria in more ways than imagined.

Then came Abacha, and the tyranny of that feudal Despot took Nigeria back another 2 decades.

Was it an accident that after POWER shifted to the South for the better part of the last 16years, that our economy began to grow, debts paid off, boost in education, boost in agriculture, boost in trade, the largest economic expansion since the colonial days, the largest expansion of the middle class ( the backbones of any economy) since the colonial era ? huh

Wow!
And what an odd coincidence (?) that the same Buhari is back, and is quickly taking Nigeria back to the LOCUST years, the years of hunger, despair and desolation.

What an odd, but very very sad coincidence indeed.

Dereformer:
Do you think southern Nigeria will ever be united? I doubt. The type of hatred the Igbos and the Yorubas have for each other is unprecedented.
Some people are benefiting from this animosity and I believe the North is using divide and rule approach to deceive the south.

I keep saying it, any politician that succeeds in uniting the sw and the se should be giving a southern award.

The day the SE and SW embrace each other and form a new alliance towards self determination, Northern influences will stop.
Dragonking:
You are very right.. If igbos and Yoruba's can stop this their stupid fights and unite the whole Southern Nigeria, no one will need those northern crooks.
Iceland population is not over 1 million people and they are a country, the SW has over 10 million people, the SE has over 5 million, the SS has over 5 million...

we all know the truth. Nigeria's unity is the problem. An igbo man named aguiyi ironsi made it worse by making Nigeria adopt a unitary system of government.
