Most of the problems the entire south suffers was caused by ironsi an igbo man. Back then igbos were the ones shouting "one Nigeria" when it backfired they started shouting "biafra".

The igbos didn't even annex the Eastern region, they were trying to conquer the whole country.

Unknown to the igbos, ironsi unitary system and the civil war was a masterplan by some northerners and southerners(including ojukwu) to give federal power to the north.

Wrong! Edo only aligns with SW in political ideology and political philosophy obviously because Edo believes in progressivism and realistic politicking. However, when it comes to self determination and sovereignty, Edo does not believe that anywhere else is superior to Benin City hence Edo won't tolerate another settlement acting as capital over Benin if given the opportunity.
Edo/Delta suffered Yoruba domination in the Old Western Region. The Yorubas MPs then used to call our MPs Kobokobo in the Western House. By Kobokobo they meant unintelligible barbarians. In fact the Awujale then would introduce Awolowo, Akintola, ooni and then declare afterwards that the Western Region was complete without recognizing the presence of Oba Akenzua who was also a member of the western House and leader of future Bendelites. Funny enough the same Awujale office recently started including the Oba of Benin among Yoruba kings just to give him a premise to dishonour the Oba of Benin stool.

What those guys miss is the fact that Edo as a people and as a state does not believe in Nigeria and as well does not even believe in any of the man made configurations in it. The fight to create Midwestern Region out of the Western Region was championed by the Oba of Benin himself...Oba Akenzua....primarily in pursuit of preserving the glory of the Benin Kingdom and secondarily to extricate his people from Yoruba domination in the Western Region.
It is also noteworthy that people from the current Edo State part of Bendel actually were the ones who submitted the memorandum to have Bendel split in the spirit of allowing others be. Even though Edo accepts the SS classification in the spirit of solidarity with other minorities equally oppressed by WAZOBIA, Edo State has always viewed this SS configuration with the suspicion that it might be a subtle move to de-emphasize the uniqueness of Bendel and the pre-eminence of Benin City given the fact that the capital of this SS contraption seems to be laid in PH.
As at when Edo got extricated from Yoruba domination and got Midwest, the Eastern minorities were still battling unsuccessfully to pull out of Igbo domination into their hoped COR Region. So how and why should an Akwa Ibom person expect Edo (which successfully fought its way out of Yoruba domination) to believe in being unequally yoked with some other South Eastern minorities who could not successfully yank themselves off Igbo domination despite being more than Edo in terms of numerical strength back then and till now?
Edo state believes in an Edo Republic first, followed by Bendel Republic, then followed by a SS Republic, and then Nigeria in order of decreasing preference.

Edo will always align with SW no matter what happens... there are many Edo indigenes all over the SW they don't make noise like the igbos... Yorubas never dominated Benin. they have always worked as partners even with the Yorubas having a higher population than them...

I thought lasaa was just a state govt advert agency that only collects payment for advert when a person wants to advertise... I didn't know they taxed people that don't use adverts.

can you list the agencies that collect tax in the state... I checked google and its world bank taxation report I saw on Lagos.

Business owners are the one suffering the increase in income by LASG. The new Chairman of LIRS may end up killing small businesses in Lagos. I just got a letter from LIRS for my PAYE tax audit from 2009 to 2014 and I was billed a tax liability of N2.6 million, eventhough I paid my income tax as at when due.

I have written them, challenged the tax audit and made additional payment of 30k, waiting for their invite in 4 to 6 months time so as to compare notes and records.


LASSA collects about 50k per annum for advert, land use charge is about 100k per annum, PHCN is about 500k per annum, local govt papers for my buses is 40k, vehicle license and insurance etc is over 100k. Land use charge is also over 100k per annum.

Do not be surprised if Lagos makes more than N100billion in the current quarter, because prosecution of tax defaulters will commence in the quarter.

is paying lasaa and local govt compulsory... I thought it was only lirs that collect tax.

It takes time, resources and commitment. The Three Gorges Dam in China took 15 years and 25 billion pounds to build to completion.

That power plant is over 22,000 megawatts.

if 3000mw would take Nigeria 5 years to build.. then it would take Nigeria over 35 years to build a 22,000mw power plant.

if you come to Lagos, is it not logical that as part of your social integration you learn and speak the indigenous language? when did speaking Yoruba in south west states equate the whole south speaking Yoruba.

because igbos who were born in SW would spread it to the SE even if the SE makes igbo compulsory.

It would mean Igbos born in SW would relate well with other igbos born in SW even if they are in the east.

They should be creative in making life better for the people that elected them in office. Making Yoruba language should be made compulsory in schools is not the issue, when their parents can do the job @ home.

Parents no longer have time for their kids.

They work till 5pm reach house like 7pm eat then sleep.

Schools now close at 4pm. Children spend most of their time school. So if a child attends a school like greensprings he'll never learn his language because every other student are from wealthy homes.

Only people that live in yoruba speaking areas or attend public schools can speak the language fluently.

Most people in private schools can't speak their languages.
