Nigeria population should be around 500m or more.
Lagos alone by estimation is around 30million plus. Nigeria's population is not more than 80million. People will die naturally. People will fall sick and die. People will die from gunmen attacks. People will die from animal attacks. People will die from road accidents, train accidents. People will die from malaria. People will die from sickle cell. People will die from negligent doctors and nurses. People will die during child birth. People will die from drinking dirty water. People will emigrate out of Nigeria. E.t.c.. The Truth is Nigeria's population has either reduced or is not more than 80 million. In the 70s, 80s there were no terrorists, gunmen everywhere, roads were too bad or were dirt roads so accidents was less. |

AjaoEstater: You could say the same about literally any country on the planet (like a island country UK having ~70 million people) especially India and China the latter with vast uninhabitable regions and the UN does estimate that Nigeria produce 8 million babies per year (even Wikipedia use UN Population as guidance) and India produce 20 million annually, China produce 10 million annually. It also more believable that our population is nearly 300 million my late grandmother had 10 children, and my mother had 8 children. Northern Nigeria which is the "Food basket" on the nation also have the largest lake in west africa, and then we have the largest river in west africa- River Niger, and also River Benue and thousands of other rivers. Then there is Polygamy which is legal here (a man can have like 60 children from 6 wives), child marriage is also legal, and the age of consent is 11 or 18 (16 depending on the state). If Tiny Uganda can have ~50 million people and landlocked, there is no way in hell Nigeria is not over 300 million people.
Note: Nigeria's population is "speculative" because it could be over 500 million, about 11 years ago my dad who was part of the chieftaincy system in the Federation said Nigeria had 300 million people. The Federal Government is underestimating so it wont cause panic esp. with the EU crowd and migration. Northern Nigeria is not the "food basket" of Nigeria.. Southern Nigeria is the food basket of Nigeria. How can a place that is filled with desert have and produce more food than a place with fertile soil. Use your brain. Nigeria's population is not more than 80 million.. |

I disagree No the biggest electricity plant in Nigeria is in Lagos state built by Shagari Mrs would have been built but for Military intervention Military rule under Buhari,Babangida and Abacha is what held us back for nearly twenty years
They did not build any rail or refinery, failed to maintain what refinery we had, ,stole billions of dollars and wasted money on the unproductive construction of Abuja
So the issue is not about unproductive population but bad and visionless military regimes holding us back
Our problem has been bad government not unproductive population tamdun: Our population is not up to 200m,nit even close bryning899: That's just the truth, this last election further exposed falsification of Nigeria population, this last election was the best in Nigeria through not that credible but best in Nigeria.... wirinet: A resounding YES. franchasofficia: I chose to respond to your comment because of some points you raised and to clear you on some misconceptions you have.
For your info, I am Pro-Sanwo-Olu just as I am pro Osinbajo. The only person I have issue with is Bola Tinubu and its based on his leadership style that focuses more on taxing the poor to be shared among him and his staunch supporters and party loyalists which is like robbing hardworking Peter to pay lazy Paul.
Lagos is the most taxed state in Nigeria yet Lagos have the most deplorable intra-city roads, go round Satelite town, Ojo, Ikotun, Maza-Maza, Festac, Oshodi, Mafoluku, Isolo, Ikeja GRA, etc and you will be wondering if those areas are part of the big city like Lagos that ought to be moving towards competing with globally recognized megacities like Paris, Cape Town, Cairo, Casablanca, Jbourg, etc.
It is only in Lagos that they collect the so called annual land use charge from house owners. No Southeast state collect that, I doubt any collects it in the North or Southsouth or in other Southwest states. These are mega monies being made by Lagos state, count how many houses in Lagos and you will understand. On top that, Lagos generates huge IGR all thanks to its location and positioning as longest capital city of Nigeria that enjoyed several privileges even till date. Yet Lagos is the most indebted state that have borrowed the most loan from external lenders, have you wondered where all that money is? With all the huge billions and trillions Lagos generates, Lagos ought not to have deplorable intra-city roads it has all over Lagos.
Lagos is the only state that charge business owners and shop owners for rainfall water guard that extends in front of a shop to prevent water from entering the shop or house, Lagos charge all shops and buildings for that, no other state does. Lagos state charge for radio if your business is operating within an LGA, they also charge for all forms of signage unlike other states that overlook these things. These are just a few of Lagos slavish taxes I can remember now.
Many states today are copying Lagos slavish tax system, even Anambra's Soludo is foolishly copying it.
Tinubu believes in taxing Nigerians like UK citizens but refuse to work for Nigerians like UK Government.
Before you start taxing and milking people anyhow, you ought to be ready to deliver excellent services to global standard like the western countries you are copying their tax system.
Today, the same Tinubu is introducing all manner of slavish tax systems into the federal government. From withholding tax which will cripple and force businesses and companies out of Nigeria to market traders and street traders tax net he is widening to milk already suffering and dejected Nigerians struggling to make ends meet via highly competitive and oversaturated buying and selling.
It was because of Bola Tinubu's slavish tax style that made me wished for a new party to take over Lagos. Initially I was rooting for Funke and Jandor of PDP cos I never saw GRV and LP as having the clout to restle power out of APC in Lagos but behold they gained serious momentum close to the election and made me started routing for GRV. Both GRV, Jandor and Sanwo-olu are all bonafide Yoruba sons, so what is wrong in choosing to vote one of them? Must everybody follow Bola Tinubu's choice?
It is well sha.
Time will open everybody's eyes to the truth, just a matter of time You cannot be pro-Sanwo-olu and pro Osinbajo and also want change of government in Lagos.. You're a liar just like your ancestors Aguiyi Ironsi, Ojukwu and Azikwe. CRV is I:gbo and also an I:gbo supremacist who would have brought other I:gbo supremacists into Lagos government because he was also supported by Obi who is also an I:gbo supremacist. It will be stupid and foolish of Yorubas to vote Igbo supremacists as governor of lagos. CRV is 100% Igbo, he is not Yoruba. |

drlaykay: Like I said the chances that the girl is lying is extremely high. However, you just did the same thing MTN staff did to me. Around 2015, I recharged #2700 in bits, 750, 200, 400 . The seller didn't have the bigger vouchers. After recharging, I dialled a code used for my regular data. Back then 2500 was for 4.5gig (3gig day and 1.5gig night and was the best offer).
After dialling the code around 7pm, I expected the plan to be activated and I should start browsing. Instead, 2500 was deducted leaving 200 naira in my account and the data was not given. I did all the hard rest and it didn't work.
I called them that night and they said I only recharged 200 naira and that 2500 was not reflecting in their system. I thought the lady was just saying nonsense. The next day, I went to a small MTN outlet inside LUTH where I was working. I spoke with the guy therehe opened his system and saw that I only recharged 200 naira and called me a liar.
After close of work before reaching home, I went to a bigger MTN branch close to my house and still only ₦200 was reflecting on the system.
That night around 9pm, I called customer care again and behold I was told 1200 was reflecting on the system. The next morning I went back to the MTN outlet at work and met the same guy who checked again and saw 1700. The guy felt stupid and apologized to me for his previous day behavior.
It took over 48hrs for the system to completely update the full 2700. Still it was difficult to give me my money because their system wasn't still signifying a failed transaction. It took close to 2 weeks before I finally got refunded after back and forth in their office. In fact, a lady just had to credit me and I believe it's from her personal account after it was becoming embarrassing to her.
So if you haven't experienced something, please don't outrightly call people liars. Give a little room for technical error. Impossible.. Everything you dial on your phone has logs in their system. If you dialled a USSD code it will show on their system and they will tell you to wait that it will reflect. They will not say you're lying because even if it has not worked it will show as "transaction pending" or just "pending" on the logs. If you had committed a crime and police request for your call logs from MTN the police will see everything you dialled and the call duration or ussd duration. The system will always show if a transaction is "completed" or "success", if it is "pending" or "in progress", or if it is "failed". The people you met most likely didn't have full access to the main systems that will be at the headquarters. They had partial access that's why they couldn't help you. |

drlaykay: I believe she did it to deceive her parents into believing she scored high. She never envisaged all the paparazzi that will follow. But the parents being quite exposed decided to pursue the privileges that accompany such feat. And of course, the beginning of the doom. JAMB had done their investigation before calling her out and whatever investigations will be done further will still be around what JAMB did. Her coming back to admit that she scored 249 means she isn't sure of herself.
There's no exam I have written that I won't tell you what my score range will be after the exam. 362 to 249 is a very huge gap. Deserving students will insist 249 was a wrong score and insist on writing again.
Anyone who listened to the JAMB spokesman can tell she was lying. And the questions are why is she the only one who experienced that glitch? Why was the name not different or the examination number or the subject combination. Why was it only the scores that changed and the total score was accurate?
However, I have also been a victim of system malfunctioning twice with MTN where I was called a liar because their system presented something else. The second time, I was exonerated after two days, as the system updated itself. So, glitches can happen. Your last sentence is a big lie.. a computer system cannot update itself, a human being has too update it.. Has a glitch ever changed your nair:aland username? Has a glitch ever deducted or added money to your bank account without human error or another person stealing your money? Has a glitch ever changed your ATM pin code? has a glitch ever changed your ATM card number? Has a glitch ever changed the date of expiry on your ATM card? Has a glitch ever changed the 3 numbers behind your ATM card? A glitch can never change information on a computer because the information is entered into a database and stored the way it was entered. So even if JAMB servers has issues the information will never be affected. The girl is a liar. |

lovewins: It's simple really.
1. We've had 2 professional seasons in the last one year. This season was abridged.
2. Yes, Sporting Lagos was founded in 2022. They however didn't start their journey from the Third or fourth tier of the league. What they did was to buy the spot of a club already in the NNL. It was exactly the same thing MFM did. It's more or less like a club take over, the difference however is you're buying the club spot and not necessarily the club structure. So they built theirs from the ground up.
3. They almost went on relegation in the NNL last season, but we're save by goal difference. This season however, they topped their group on the NNL, again edging Ijebu United who had same points with them on goal difference, thereby qualifying for the playoffs. The rest they say is history. Okay. |

Kog45: How I wish everyone can claim state of origin where he/she was born and vie for any position politically in that state but in our society it is NO cuz tribalism will comes in.
Victor Osimehn is more of Lagos than Edo and nothing stop him from doing more for his Edo lineage but we cannot tell the young man what to do with his wealth.
I remember Chief Adolphus Okafor from Anambra State was more of Kwara man and Kwarans believed so much in him that he controlled Kwara football administration for many years through votings.Nobody care where he came from.
In sports, many of our sport men do much to state where they were born and raised,so do not be surprised seeing Osimehn doing much for Lagos State.
I don’t think Osimehn would go out of his way and do more to any country than Nigeria. Osimhen is not more of Lagos than Edo.. he is Edo from top to bottom. Chief Adolphus Okafor was able to do that because majority of Yoruba people are passive and sometimes docile especially the Yorubas in Kwara. it was in Kwara that Afonja betrayed the Yorubas by partnering with fulan:is terrorists who were working for England to capture the Oyo Empire fortunately for the Yorubas Afonja was also betrayed and killed by the Fulan:is.. it was Yorubas from Ibadan, ogun, Osun that saved Yorubas from Kwara by killing and chasing the fulanis back across the river Niger unfortunately despite the victory and reapture of Kwara by Yorubas the Bri:tish still handed parts of Kwara to the fulanis in a peace deal or agreement and helped them create an emirate. If not for tribalist Yorubas from Ibadan, Ogun ( which also includes Lagos in that era ) and Osun the entire Yoruba region won't have progressed and reached and grown to the level it has attained and continues to grow towards both in the 1800s and 2000s. You can't be detribalised and expect your ethnicity to make progress because you will put other ethnicities before your own ethnicity and those other ethnicities can kill you. |

You tell people where to spend their money when they're not doing anything in the place where their lineage is from and when they date or impregnate women outside where they are from and outside their ethnicities. chrisooblog: I think it's presumptuous of you to dictate to a full grown adult how he should spend his money or give to charity.
Osimhen has already done quite a lot for his community Olusosun where he was born.
If he chooses in future to do something in Edo State where his late father comes from all well and good. Victor didn't grow up in Edo so it's understandable why he hasn't done anything yet however that doesn't mean things won't still change.
Mane grew up and was bred in the Senegalese village he's currently helping with various charitable ventures so it's a no brainer. I can dictate to any adult especially black men like Osimhen who don't understand the importance of spending your money and doing charity mainly where he grew up and mainly where his parents or origins or lineage is from.. I don't blame him... I blame Edo state government for not inviting him and giving him a tour of the state and his origins since he hasn't gone to Edo on his own. |

oloriooko: Victor Osimhen:
“I am inspired by Sadio Mane. But I have a different goal compared to his. He is building infrastructure for the community of Senegal. That is awesome.
But for me I want to help disable challenged people across Africa. I will always do my best to help where I can help. I am in the process of opening headquarters in Africa that will help to achieve this goal.
If you don't have a leg, we will create a new one for you. If it's an arm, we will create a new one for you. We want them to feel equal to everyone. We work for Africa.” 🔥#justfootball #oshVictor Osimhen: “I am inspired by Sadio Mane. But I have a different goal compared to his. He is building infrastructure for the community of Senegal. He hasn't done anything in his hometown in Edo yet he wants to carry the whole Africa even Mane that has accomplished more than him limited his help and charity to mainly his hometown in Senegal.. Whoever is advising him needs to be sacked immediately.. |
