Before your people started relocating to Lagos en mass from your potopoto region in the late 80s and 90s, Lagos was doing very well and great in commence and trade.
Madillas and Marina areas were very clean, orderly and neat. Lagos was neat and beautiful.
We had foreign industries in Lagos producing high quality textiles in Aswani & Afprints.
We had indigenous pharmaceutical companies in Ikeja.
We had shoe making industries like Bata & lennards in Iyana Isolo and co.
Now
Your people brought dirts and refuse everywhere even on the roads and where you have shops.
Your people killed local industries with fake importations from china and everywhere.
You people have brought second hand cloths, tokunbo etc to kill local production.
You people brought in street trading to Lagos and opening 2 by 2 shops everywhere.

Look, alot of you are just toddlers and kids, if your people go, Lagos will reset to its default settings of sane environment and commerce.
Enlightening

It is because the capital was moved to Asaba.
People migrate to where jobs and money is available.
It is sheer arrogance to threaten and warn Yoruba people that if Igbos leave they will suffer.
What you don't realise is that Igbos leaving will create plenty many businesses for Yorubas to venture into. Igbos absence will be filled by many other tribes from the North Central and other Yoruba states.
It will make money available for infrastructure to go round better, since population has reduced.
Traffic jam will reduce. House rent will reduce.
They always forget about " other Yoruba states " and the countries like Benin republic and Togo that also have huge indigenous Yoruba population.

I think the major reason Nigeria doesn't process raw materials is the overvalued naira.

I was shocked to learn some years ago that Nigerian cashew nuts are shipped to Vietnam and some other Asian countries for processing BEFORE being exported to Europe.

I was shocked. Currency control is destructive.

Have a good day.
It has nothing to do with naira.

It has to do with lack of funds and lack of motivation by the federal and state government to fund the construction and building of processing facilities whether small or big...

Dangote was and is giving funds by the government to invest in sugar, oil, cement e.t.c

That means the government can also give other people interested the funds to invest in processing cocoa, Palm kernel, cashew nuts e.t.c..

The major reason is the Nigerian government would only provide funds to a northerner to make it seem as if northern Nigeria is contributing to Nigeria through agriculture and hiding the fact that the raw materials are from southern Nigeria and at worst north Central states which in reality is still southern Nigeria.

The other problem is state governments don't make funds available from their state budgets or from loans to invest in such businesses.

Why doesn't Kogi have a Kogi cement company or Ogun also have Ogun Cement company. Bayelsa does not have Bayelsa Petroleum company, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Rivers don't have their own state owned oil companies and no one is preventing them from establishing such.

The only thing preventing them is lack of political will and lack of intelligence in establishing businesses.

The population you're talking about is same thing the poster talked about.

Asaba was like Lagos back in the days and the same thing the Yorubas are doing is same thing Warri indigenes did. If anyone was told Warri will degerate to this extent, no one would've believed. Those who fail to learn from history are bound to repeat it.

As for me I wish the Igbos would leave Lagos too, and as the poster said, if the Igbos leave other SS tribes would leave too.
Other tribes are not bringing anything to Lagos that is not already available in Lagos or other Yoruba states.

Lagos or the SW can never be affected or be a shadow of itself if other tribes leave Lagos.

the SW will trade with Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana and Siera Leone..

The huge population of Yorubas both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria would ensure the SW continues to progress.

Don't ever compare a major tribe population like Yoruba to minor tribes population in Asaba which is not up to the population of Yorubas in Lagos alone.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cadbury and Nestlé use some sort of intermediate cocoa product input processed abroad. In fact I strongly suspect that is the case.

Adding value in Nigeria is generally uneconomic. The resulting product is not price competitive.

Thanks.
Cocoa is cheap, there's no need to add anything, the exported cocoa seeds already have too much value despite how cheap they are.

It's Nigerians that don't want to go into processing cocoa and saturate the market, its the same issues with processing Palm kernel seeds and getting Palm products gotten from it.

Only thing they add is too much sugar. And that can be controlled by regulatory authorities in Nigeria.

Mordecai:
Maybe we need to ignore them, and focus on the end users.

For instance, why export cocoa and import chocolate at a much higher cost?
If we insist that the cocoa be processed, we can focus then on exporting to buyers of chocolate. We could at least save up on the forex used in importing chocolate and in addition to the farmers create additional employment. These "buyers" have always exploited us anyway with unfair trade agreements anyway.

Sure, but then the present situation isn't helping too.
Cadbury processes cocoa into chocolate in Nigeria.

Nestle also processes cocoa into chocolate in Nigeria.

There are other companies too that process cocoa into chocolate in Nigeria.

You're wrong. It's not a fire brigade approach issue..

It's a black empowerment issue.

If the SF or any other black African country do well then it improves confidence and reduces inferiority complex amongst it's citizens and reduces need to emigrate out of the country.

It's not about it benefiting them in the long run it's about it benefiting eu:ropeans in the long run not Africans.

Nice explanation.. please how do you add geegpay or grey to sh account
Go to "Account Settings".

Then click on "Account Details".

Then scroll down to "Setup Your Payout Methods".

Then select "Wise".

Then click on "IBAN" when it asks you to choose between "Local Currency" or "IBAN".

Then enter your details from your Grey GBP account details into text boxes then wait for approval.

I did mine on a Sunday so I had to wait until a workday ( Monday morning) for it to be approved.

If you ever had success selling names on SH wholesale marketplace, please post the sweetest spot prices. Some of us really need it to keep things going 😐
Thankiu
It depends on global economic situation.

If you own the name then $100 for the 1st month or depending on how long you intend to keep it at $100.

If SH owns it then $50 or depending on how long you intend to keep it at $50.

Last year and 2 years ago I sold 8 names in 3 days at wholesale market for $100 each but I didn't know of Grey or ge:egpay so the amount I got was half of the amount I would have gotten if I had used grey or ge:egpay.

This year I wanted to try it again I put 20 names at $100 in February... 3 months later none of them sold and the expiration date was getting close so I reduced the price to $30 and 5 names sold in 1 day.

So it depends on the global economic situation and how quickly you need money.

Last year and 2 years ago I was making at least ₦200,000 monthly from the wholesale market..

this year I would have to sell 30 names per month at $20 - $30 at wholesale to get ₦200,000 I was getting from 5 - 6 names at $100.

So I'm hoping for sale with a very bad popularity percentage and the worst SH sell through rate ever.

I'm thinking of selling all my names and moving to be:tting and using ₦200,000 on 2 odds to get ₦200,000 monthly but that's suicidal...

Key Notes:
This year have been ups and down in the domain industry, I still feel 2019/2020 gave the best domaning results on a personal note. Maybe others can share there perceptive and opinions on that topic. After the pandemic the market have been fluctuating, however alot of people have benefited from new trends meta, gpt, ai. Geo's have performed great too for many. But the general domaining market have been slow.

Afte:rnic since paring with Go:daddy and changing some of their SEO mechanics and their fast transfer network partner strategy, have been a bit hit and miss. Currently this year I've managed to cut down my portfolio to around 600 names choosing quality over quantity and selling off around 30% of unwanted names in my portfolio on bulk deals. I've also improved the quality I bring into my portfolio massively to avoid wasting money on renewals on names i don't necessarily need long term as most have been in my portfolio for over 4 years with no results. Sales hasn't been inspiring but I look forward to a better second half of the year and I plan to Re-learn domaining and improve my game massively.

So far I've Recorded: 1 sale on Afternic undisclosed from the above mentioned sales due to buyer protection. (although afternic have been my most disappointing platform 2 years running now)

Haven't listed on Dan for over a year now so started re-lising there so 0 sales on Dan as well.

With a small portfolio of just 15 name on Brandbucket 0 sales so far

My 5 surviving names on Brandpa have recorded 1 low ball offer and 0 sale.

Also decided to try Sedo and patiently scaled through their verification stress, will give a review as things progress over there.

Currently Squadhelp holds around 85 % of my entire portfolio with 550 names. Having trimmed down the portfolio, selling some unwanted names in bulk of 100's to some old domainer friends on Bulk deal at reseller rates and trying to maintain a good quality and healthy portfolio.
From my current 510 names on Squadhelp I've recorded just 3 sales and 2 offers this year excluding bulk deals and minor reseller sales here and there.
With the additional 1 sale on Afternic. Which rounds to 4 sales on a 600 names portfolio, That's around 1.6 % sales through rate for 6months conversation, anyway overall that's Average returns result.
Although I'm currently having a hard time focusing on domaining as I'm a bit into academics at the moment as a researcher and most of my attention goes there which affords me little time for domaining lately. Nonetheless, I'm looking to reinventing my domaining ideology and try to invest better and probably attempt the premium names market to see what experience comes from there. And I look forward to contributing more on this thread this year (even though the year have gone half, apologies) as I've been a bit off with other activities lately, one being my career path. Anyways I'll also wish for us to make this thread an avenue of learning different and trending domaining strategies and not just through reported sales which I feel sometimes is just the end result of a long process. Overall I feel the brandable names market is slo, patient one and can be rewarding with the right kind of names and investment. And domaining is a numbers game hence if you make a small profit, don't forget is reinvest a good percentage back to your portfolio to stand a chance of selling more names. I also wish everyone success in sales as the year goes to the 2nd half. If you are feeling down on your result don't give up, Remember a game is not won in the first half, better months ahead for everyone. Cheers..

In my next post, I'll be reviewing the above reported sales.

Peace cool
Is Dyna:dot your main registrar?

Name:silo is not getting me any sales and most of the popular sellers go:daddy.

It is not your place to decide if a player is good or not..

are the ones in the NPFL good enough?

Nwakali is a good substitute for Iwobi so what happens if Iwobi gets injured or gets red card or gets tired and can't track players who then replaces Iwobi?

Akinsamiro is young and should be given at worst 10 minutes so that he can be cap tied to Nigeria and the coaches can tell him what parts of his game he needs to improve and how to improve it.

You don't just say a person is not good enough especially when you're not trying to improve the person and tell the person what to improve.. it is very dis-respectful and discrimatory to say such to anyone..

Osimehn and Awoniyi take care of Boniface and Gift Orban…..Yes Onyedika would have replaced Aribo who did nothing this season but Nwakili would have gotten the chance doing it in elite division.
Osimehn and Awoniyi don't take care of Boniface and Gift Orban while there is still Terem Moffi, Umar Sadiq, Josh Maja, Chuba Akpom and Nathan Tella there..

Both the starting eleven and the bench needs to be very strong.

Nwakali does not need to play in an elite league to get his chance since players from NPFL are been given a chance let players in second tier of top leagues also be given chances.

Nwakali can take corners, make through passes, accurate long balls e.t.c he had the skill set that is lacking in midfield of the S.E only Iwobi is similar.

Midfielders would normally be:

Alex Iwobi
Onyedika
Alhassan Yussuf
Frank Onyeka
Ndidi
Kelechi Nwakali
Etebo
Ramon Azeez
Akinsamiro
Eletu
Nnadi
Daga

But only 23 players can be selected for the team so some have to be excluded

Nzeogwu shooting indiscriminately at Yoruba women and children thereby killing them is not attack.

Ojukwu warfare against the SW but he was stopped at Ore is not attack.

Azikwe wanting to be premier of Western region is not an attack..

Doing business in a place is an economic attack especially if the regulators in that place see it as an attack that's why foreigners or black people are not allowed to go into some businesses in some countries and if they try to go into the business they will be investigated until something negative about them is found and then made public which would prevent them from starting the business.

Cocoa and Palm oil were and are still gotten from the SW..

There is a called Palm Grove in Lagos.. it used to be a very large Palm farm until urbanisation caused most of the trees to be cut off and Lagos gradually lost it's status as one of the largest producers of Palm oil..

Edo, Delta were in the western region then
