blaquebelle: I believe consuming more of complex sugars is much better than the simple sugars contained in the soft drinks. Atleast they are not broken down and used up as fast as simple sugars that just enter directly into the blood stream. So I think I don't agree with your opinion.
Apart from Semo which is made from processed flour, the rest of the meals you mentioned have starch and an appreciable amount of fiber. It makes one full for longer than when you consume something with processed sugars. That might be why they are better rather than worse as you've pointed out.
I might be wrong tho...
And please can you clarify what you mean by normal sugars? Never heard that term before. Or u mean what we know as table sugar?
For your point on malt, are you saying that because maltose is broken down into 2 molecules of glucose then it makes the sugar double the amount? I think sugar content is measured by what it would yield In the body so its all the same🤔 You're wrong. Sugar is sugar. There's nothing like complex sugar and simple sugar. |

Sugar found in drinks ET all are caloric sweetener! ( Processed sugar)
Natural sugars have many health benefits; They help in weigh loss, they contain essential vitamins and minerals that are super great for the body!

Slaysor: Stop saying what you don't know, cassava, garri and yam are bad but not compared to soft drink. Soft drink is made up of simple sugar, the body doesn't even need to metabolise it. It enters the body and immediately spikes up blood sugar. But yam, cassava, etc are broken down gradually by the body releasing it's sugar slowly into the body. Even though it still spikes blood sugar but not compared to sugar. That is why simple sugar has a high glycemic index than this foods. Sugar is sugar. There's nothing like simple sugar. The problem is not just the sugar because our daily meals have sugar content. The problem is Nigerians do not burn this excess sugar. Kids food and drinks contains a lot of sugar because their body metabolism is high and they need the energy to play rough play. You as an adult can't keep up with such level of activity.
The bulk of this sugar has a way of storing themselves in the most unwanted places. Stomach, arms, cheeks...etc. While Nigerians are not obesed, they are quite shapeless. Young girls and guys with flat/toned stomachs and arms are gradually going extinct. All this sufferhead burning under hot sun that leads to athritis, anger and depression doesn't count to me. You're misinformed.. Kids don't need sugar.. When a black person is under the sun then that person is getting healed and getting vitamin D and other benefits as long as the person doesn't stay in the for too long. |

angelEmade: ...the sugar in a plate of semo, amala, akpu, pounded yam, etc. Will amount to about a box of cube sugars. The irony here is that the glucose and other monosaccharides in these drinks are a form of carbohydrates just like the disaccharides in complex sugars like sucrose (normal sugar) . Although all carbohydrates are reduced to glucose and consequently glycogen which are stored in the liver in complex metabolism reactions in the body, you cannot exactly compare these simple sugars to normal sugars. . And ironically, the malt we so much prefer to soda drinks contain Maltose which are complex sugars. A molecule of maltose can comparatively yield two molecules of monosaccharides in these soda drinks. . My point is that starch and carbohydrates like corn syrups and the foods I mentioned up there are much worse than these drinks. And although their intake should be controlled...it would be a futile endeavour if you keep supplementing them with excess starchy foods. . Malt is not a saviour either. You wrote nonsense.. |

Soon, we would indeed witness a quality boom in our midfield options as we have with the attack. We already started having a midfield boom since the last 2 years but they are not getting called up. Iwobi, ndidi, Onyedika, onyeka, Yusuf, tijani, bonke, Nwakali. Akinsamiro, eletu, daga, olowoporoku e.t.c won't get called up until 2027... The super eagles coaches will say they are too young. Apart from that the last game against Brazil must be taken seriously because there will be more Brazilian fans and it will indirectly be a home game for Brazil and Brazil don't waste their chances. The U20 eagles defense is shaky so they need to defend better. |

I know that as a self-professed tribalist, you felt personally attacked by my condemnation of tribalists, but if you want to get back at me, you need to come up with a smarter plan.
This one is just over the bar. The other teams have players with full grown beards but it's Nigeria's players you're accusing falsely. You're the tribalist. That's why your brain created a problem with players ages where there is no problem. Racists and tribalists brains have issues with things that are not supposed to be an issue. There's discrimination based on age. Discrimination is discrimination. |

Curtisaxel10: My only problem with this U20 team is that they are grossly overage. For all we know, they could all be in their mid to late twenties i.e at their peak.
This means the boys have only two or three years max to perform optimally before nature takes its course and diminishing returns sets in.
For those celebrating that we have found fresh solutions to our SE problems, I would advise caution. It is not yet Uhuru. Those boys are not boys. 2 days ago you were condemning discrimination. Today you are discriminating against the U20 eagles because they are successfully winning matches. It doesn't even occur to you that the U20 eagles were lucky against Italy, if Italy had scored first it would have been a different game and the defense is shaky and riding on luck especially with the Full-Backs that started against Italy. You're a hypocrite.. |

Johnrake69: Lol… This administration really turned Fashola to an average joe.
In 8years he couldn’t complete Lagos-Ibadan express.
India just created a record of constructing a 100KM road in 100 hours.
It’s safe to say that the world has left us behind. It will take us atleast 50years to catch up with the likes of India Wrong. India built a 16.6km road in 100 hours not 100km. They calculated it per lane which means 1 lane is 1km.. the Indian express way is a 6 lane express way. Which means 1km of 6 lanes is calculated as 6km that means 100km divided by 6km ( 1km per lane ) = 16.6km. The length of the Indian express way is 16km. They only used 100km for hype and propaganda.. Its a good achievement.. Lagos - Ibadan is 128km long not 16km and at least 10 lanes wide. Using The Indian method of 1km per lane then 10 lanes is equal to 10km. Its a 128km road that means 1,280km has to be constructed to complete Lagos-ibadan express way. 16.6km in 4 days. 1280km will be built in 80 days. |

Fake story.
But if it's real then the winner should realise that a 19 years old is legally an adult and he should leave his father's house and go and rent an apartment and start his own life.
Because his father has just told him indirectly that there can't be another provider or breadwinner in the house apart from the father..
The father is intimidated and does not what anyone else to provide for the family..
It will be very foolish of the guy to return the money.
He doesn't need to obey his father/mother anymore at his age as long as he doesn't disrespect them. |

JaskanFactor: people think racists are just abusive and threating, but infact racism is very destructive to life, and as the people in many remote areas of Nigeria are finding out racism can very deadly cause all the terrorists killing in Nigeria are part of the European racist agenda to depopulate Africa.
So whilst you sitting in your arm chair calling out racism, dont forget that all around the world from west indies , to Americas, to Africa, dark skin people are dying like flies, cause all the terrorists and gangs killing black people are sponsored by the same people calling you nigger from the football stand, cause they run the whole world, and thus determine the security situation everywhere, so that there is no place with large number of black people that is safe on this planet.
The only person more deadly to dark skin person than racist are the dark skin people that cause disunity in the is most desperate time for the black nation on earth. So that in Europe right now some of the biggest enemies of African people even more than nazis are fellow Africans.
The worst mistake you can make is to have a career plan where you working for European. or allow them to teach you or or child as teacher.
As one black American professor put, he said black people dont understand the concept of having an enemy.
And all around the world in black communities, Nigerians are very much hated, cause they are so materialistic, they would throw anybody under the bus for the nearest white man. But my experience shows this is west Africans in general
racism is not just about name calling, they are taking causalities, they are behind all the terrorists killing people all over africa. Hmmm |
