Travel › Re: Nigerians Abroad Should Stop Advising Nigerians NOT To Japa by CodeTemplar: 11:25am On Sep 13, 2023
opicgif:
this is in response to this post that made front page today: https://www.nairaland.com/7834477/japa-fever-among-nigerian-youths

story 1:
i had an uncle who always complained about his job.
he worked in an oil company.
he told me to pursue my dreams (i used to be a music producer in the university) and how life is not all about making money
he complained he didn't have time for his family and how we wishes he could spend time with his children
he complained about how he's underpaid compared to expatriates
he complained so much, we (the family) actually had pity on him
long story short, we had an insider in the company (from our church) who told us,
my uncle was the person blocking my elder brother from getting a job in same company
he (the insider) was shocked we were related to him (my uncle)
he called our uncle in my fathers presence, who told him: do you want that small boy to overtake me in the familyhuh
my uncle didn't know the phone was on speaker!!!
this was 2008.

its easy for a beautiful girl with so many rich suitors to tell her 'not so fine' friends with only one suitor life is not about marriage
its easy for a rich person to tell a broke person life is not about money
its easy for someone in canada/US/europe to tell you in Nigeria the grass isn't greener abroad

someone who doesn't buy fuel for gen,
someone who doesn't sleep with multiple lecturers for marks in the university
someone who isn't slapped, abused and insulted in the hospital (like it happens in teaching hospitals in Nigeria)
SHOULD NOT TELL NIGERIANS ANYTHING ABOUT RELOCATING ABROAD
Unstable OP. No one advised home based Nigerians not to Japa, they only gave brutal reality of what Nigerians go through there. It is up to you to prepare yourself for life over there or suffer the fate of the careless japa-ees.

If you must go, be prepared for skilled jobs that are in demand. What's the point of going to join a saturated labour market that's lacking certain skilled hands. Instead fill the empty slots where skilled hands are scarce and not washing dead bodies or changing old mama diapers.

Aonkuuse:
CBN, I don't really know what is happening there!! Is it that you guys don't have a solution to the rising dollar value or there is something you guys are not telling us??

Meanwhile, people who sit down and write this kind of long fake articles really get time oo
solution to that is not the job of the CBN sadly but so many do not realize this simple fact. Demand for dollar can be reduced by locally producing what that dollar is about to be exchanged for. From food, education, machines, technology to information. CBN is not in charge of running industries. They are built around the money system, its management, and financial institutions regulatory tasks.

With the way Nigeria is and is structured, bandits and crude thieves have more say on the strength of Naira than CBN does.

Welcome development for the interchange flyover at roundabout. I don’t think flyover at Enerhen junction is needed. They need to do the bridge from Enerhen to Opete solve the traffic problem at Udu bridge
senseless concept. Clear road make vehicle pass. Stop roadside trading that attracts traffic backlog. Create car parks around busy spots like markets plazas, schools offices. Do that for.all parts of the city. Warri is not that populated. Make e take the remaining money do better thing. Na who flyover help?

Politics › Re: Lagos Metro Official Addresses Passengers In Yoruba Language (Video) by CodeTemplar: 9:33am On Sep 13, 2023
Nice one. Let every state introduce local language in public life. That's how our brothers up north recolonized their states. We all have local language but they forcefully relegate English language and enforce use of Hausa. I served there years ago and know what I am saying. Banks use Hausa, schools use it, libraries and MDAs too.

If any, the audience should ask for GWR for listening period too.

I can boldly guess the quality of that speech based on the quantity of the speech.

efelicity:
I live with my mother, a single mother, since I lost my dad over a year ago and we haven't been having issues until recently
The problem with my mother is that she wants to remarry but I never wanted that because she planned to move in to the house my father built.

After a heated argument, she claimed the house as hers but I rejected! I didn't stop her from marrying any man but what I am against is moving the man into my father's house. More to that, she planned to open a business for her husband to be on my father's land. I know the consequence of allowing that to happen: he will later claim the land.

Since my mom met this man she stopped treating me like a son. One of her sisters told me that the man was disturbing my mom to send me out of the house so he can move in asap.

When I approached my mom with this, she cursed me because she believes I'm against her will.

How do I prevent this man from taking what belongs to me?
yours is still manageable though not so good. If I tell you mine, you go bow.

Travel › Re: JAPA Fever Among Nigerian Youths by CodeTemplar: 1:43pm On Sep 12, 2023
Most of those struggling never took time to build their capacity to be useful in another man's land. They have this mentality that they can earn their meagre pay here there with the currency symbol swapped. Never taught of asking what sells. Everyday USA is welcoming highly skilled individuals in fields that support their dwindling industries. They need medical care and are short in skilled hands. Same way we can't process our crude or scale up and mechanize our farms is how they can't train enough medical doctors cost effectively. Instead of lamenting and sending the wrong set of people to advances nations, let's start prioritizing what they lack that we can cheaply provide and allow them help us also.

Do you know the meaning of widening the tax net?
mean to expand taxation to areas previously untaxed as well as maintaining taxation on those being already taxed.

The average APC supporter is a mental case now.

Buhari took huge loans to do unviable projects and things like feeding. He even printed money or borrowed from our future earnings. You guys cheered him on. He almost gave tramadol taking insurgents amnesty too.
What of Lagos state, another APC case study void of PDP or LP or NNPP influence since 1999? They are in huge debt, taxing the people, yet it took subsidy removal and drop in traffic for Lagos to experience smooth flow of traffic.

Some people are madmen with iPad.
