CBN too posses as a revenue generating entity and do projects, NNPCL under the firm control of Hausa speaking folks only took it to a new level. |

DMerciful: NNPCL is running their own govt? Why is Bubu so clueless!
All federal road construction should be under the ministry of works so that there's one standard criteria for choosing the roads to fix. God bless you for this insightful observation. Once the northerners dominate any parastatal this is what happens. They are the problem we have. |

The red flags are just too much.
Refineries are down yet part of NNPCL's core responsibilities. The NNPCL has been running at loss and I wonder how they have 1 trillion. There is a functional ministry of works handling roads. Who harmonizes road project between NNPCL and ministry of works? They say we are borrowing to subsidize petrol yet they have hidden trillions for this.
The red flags are just too much but under Buhari, what do I know? |

[quote author= post=120123415]Our car can travel 20km with 1 litre of petrol. A normal vehicle will give you around 15–20 kms per litre in average Port Harcourt/Lagos traffic conditions with a 1.0 or 1.2 litre engine.
And for others, Let's say, for example, that your specific car uses 8.0 litres of fuel per 100km. The actual formula to get km per litre is 100 divided by 8 = 12.5, meaning that your car will give you 12.5 km on one litre.

Lostchild: I remember seeing one thread here on nairaland of a boy who complain of him having financial depression. He said he had no food, no money, no light, no television to comfort him.
I was shocked when I saw some here asking him, have you given your life to Christ?
Some even comment, have you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior?
I was like, wtf is wrong with these funny people? A person is depressed and you are asking him to accept Jesus in hunger?
I think your understanding of Christianity and bible is off the mark. The message of the bible let's us know man is a spirit and has a mind. Both can come under attack. Being in Jesus isn't out of place for a depressed person. As for his hunger, there is trust issue when it cones to generous giving among us because we know what we are capable of. |

You want debt to increase, ko?
Don't quote me to mock me again. Thanks. You have just proved my point....and I will add that government got into the brokeness by their refusal to remove subsides and improve tax to gdp ratios, as well as bad leadership.
There is no such thing as free lunch. As long as more unevenly distributed and wasteful subsidies are maintained no problem with petrol subsidy for me. |

Poppia: I'm an orphan and i sponsor myself. I normally pay 33k now they are asking me to pay 125k. Where do I get such amount? More worrisome that I got 2 more sessions to go. What you do not realize is FG was putting down hundreds of thousand on your behalf while you were still paying 33k. As things are now, there is inflation and govt is almost broke going by what comes in versus what is used to service debts on ground. That leaves any FG owned institution with the option of sourcing for funds internally, and who else should they bill if not the main beneficiary of the system. |
Education › Re: 90% Of UNIMAID Students Can't Afford New Fees-NANS by CodeTemplar: 11:07am On Jan 16, 2023 |
Kobonaire2023: Well, if the students don't want to pay the fees, that is fine by me, and everyone else. They should not be punished for being poor.
However, they should not complain about bad facilites, bad equipment, and bad libraries, and bad hostels. The fees they pay are not sufficent enough to make things good like universites in sane countries.
Universites in sane countries are good because fees are sky high (and students take loans to pay them back...) or people pay taxes (half their income in some countries like Denmark) to get good and decent universites.
We all get what we pay for. But I doubt that any university can be world class on an income of between 30-60 million dollars a year. Lol. Have you dropped your support for evil subsidy removal? These are some of the other wasteful and unevenly distributed subsidies the govt wants to maintain with petrol subsidy withdrawal funds. |

naijainstinct: Things have really changed. I recall when I gained admission into UNIMAID in 2005. My first fees as a fresher was N15,000. In subsequent years, I paid between 8,000 and 12,000 except for final year in 2008 when I paid N18,000 because of added field trip fee and an extra 5000 for late registration.
Where are we heading in this country? Tuition fees have risen over 1000%, yet, salary has not risen beyond 200% The FG has limited money and cannot keep subsidizing universities like UniMAID. The days of comfortably distributing oil sale proceeds to fund unproductive venture are over. If the students pay for the education, there will be a sense of purpose around how the schools are run from choices of programs offered, to how students conduct themselves during and after their time in the school. |
