Kobojunkie: Yikes!
Um, I meant He was being literal about the feeding and the caring of those He referred to as His sheep. If you had taken time to read on to the passage from Matthew 25, you would have figured out that His sheep are in fact His followers. Demonic liar. In the face of superior arguments you succumb. Now get lost. |

Are you telling me that you are not aware that your churches are in fact business entities registered with the government and operated with a licenses just like any other business out there? In every country they operate, they obtain businesses licenses to do so, like any other business out there. Simple evidence I demanded, you are here regurgitating your claims as if repetition of your claims makes them more credible by the minute. |

Did Jesus own lambs on earth? Maybe next thing you will say Jesus was Fulani. When Jesus said let the dead bury the dead also maybe He wanted only those in the tomb to be involved in burials of people. When the scripture says Paul planted, Apollos watered but God gave the increase maybe he was referring to Paul's cocoa yam plantation somewhere. |

Dtruthspeaker: How I wish you would see and learn that it Natural Law (God's Laws) that Provides for All Things on the earth, not Rubbish Constitution.
Constitution is man made law which means man is greater than his law, and therefore every man can happily and easily break the Constitution.
Because the created can not rule over the Creator but it is the Creator who rules over the created like Camry can never control Mr Toyoda for an instant but Mr Toyoda Always Controls the Camry!
But No Man made Natural Law and Natural is Greater than All men.
Therefor, the Correct Law as provided by Natural Law, between man to man is called Fair Agreements or Fair Contract which is covered in the Principle 'Because You Give, I Give"!
Hence, the Law is Always made by Consent or "Consent, Makes the Law!" Even you know you aren't making any sense. |

Also more importantly why does Nigerian pastors always threaten anybody that dissents with spiritual curse?? Any explanation pls Oga the constitution allows for private interaction among citizens and all. It. is a foolish idea for the govt to bypass the contributors of funds and try to impose themselves as middlemen to monitor church finance. If you give a relation some amount of money as gift and tax agents of the govt harass him to pay a tax on that gift, how will you feel? The money under the control of churches from members who trust the leadership of the church and fear God. Govt has no role to play in their affairs. |

Jones4190: what about Jesus that paid personal tax?? did Jesus advocate us to paid tax? yes or no did Jesus paid tax? yes or no if Jesus paid tax, who is oyedepo not to paid? I he the father of God or grand father of God? Tax is for earnings and not spendings or expences. You cannot tax Christians twice just because they entrust a. pastor with their money. It is not a earning in the hands of the pastors but contribution by members to cover common church needs. The funny thing is folks who say Jesus paid tax don't use the collection of gift by Jesus to justify gifts to pastors. They are only interested in taxing peoples money twice. If you want to tax gifts to pastors then be ready to also tax pocket money from parents to children, also tax groceries money from husband to wives. Also tax money gifts between sibling. You do not understand how tax works, what it is, what it is meant to achieve. Why it is meant to achieve those things. It is a pity we have many uncivilized literates these days. |

Jones4190: even Jesus paid taxe, In the Gospel account, in Capernaum the collectors of the two- drachma temple tax ask Peter whether Jesus pays the tax, and he replies that he does. When Peter returns to where they are staying, Jesus speaks of the matter, asking his opinion: "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?" Peter answers, "from others," and Jesus replies: "Then the children are exempt. But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake (the Sea of Galilee ) and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."
In Romans 13:7 the Bible make it clear that "Pay, then, what you owe them; pay them your personal and property taxes, and show respect and honour for them all. Romans 13:7 GNB oyedepo should quickly go and pay taxes before he invited the anger of God over him and his business church If you understand what govt is and what tax is meant for, you will know when and how to ask of tax from the church. You do not tax a money in the hand of an entity more than once. The money in the church is nothing more than a contribution in the eyes of the law. It is simply money entrusted unto a minister of God by followers. They entrust the church leadership with the money for spending and therefore it makes no sense to tax what has been taxed at the point of earning again n the hands of the church leadership. It is largely a thing of subconscious stúpidity in the society. |

This kind of law requires a referendum among adherents of a faith and even members of specific churches before it can make sense. You cannot tell me you want to be monitoring what a person I trust with my money to spend does with the money.
I remain in a church because I believe in the leaders as truly Gods sent, I also pay my money to the church for same reason. Now, without ever complaining about how my money is spent, why is the govt trying to monitor it for me. I pay more tax to the govt n they cannot account for it. Why are they after the church. |

janeedema: Those quoting that the Church should obey all of the government's instruction against it, because the Bible says so, are grossly misinformed.
The Bible also states to give to God what is God's and to Caesar what is Caesar's.
The monies we give as donation and offerings have already been taxed for Christ's sakes.
What's the government doing with all the monies in their coffers? Except bagging the poverty headquarters of the world, with huge debts on its neck.
The Church was the primary means of livelihood for most homes during this pandemic, whilst the government orchestrated plans to siphon funds that could have made the lives of the masses better.
How much more money does the government need? VAT increased with no increment in salary amidst the aggravated hardship.
Take it or leave it: the Church is the most functional entity in Nigeria. Their employees are paid on time, and you hardly hear of a church that has gone bankrupt.
This should tell the state something:
In the Bible, the Prophet Daniel of old upheld God's Word and was ready to burn in the stakes instead of obeying a government's injunction.
So, daring the audacity of the government by Papa Oyedepo wouldn't be anything strange-- for the state is overstepping its boundaries.
If these mega churches had squandered the monies received by members, the government will have nothing to be eyeing.
Lazy government. Kindly go and take a long sleep for on this one, you have failed.
Lauretta and co, should go and imbibe the ways of the Church and be wise, for a progressive Nigeria. Envying affluent men of God is completely unnecessary.
If it's easy to get people to be gullible, everyone would have a thriving church.
Nevertheless, I believe that until the church rises up as one and speak with one voice, the state may keep advancing.
I truly wish we had more Christians like Papa Oyedepo and Pst. Chris-- with audacity.
When the state started dictating how services should be run all in the name of COVID19, I knew there would be more stringent rules coming, as they have been tasting their might.
Christianity isn't "zombiesm". No! It's not.
If you're a Christian and you're applauding this move, I am truly sorry for you.
Know this: persecuting God's church is tantamount to persecuting Christ, and there is the warfare dimension of the God we worship.
We shall surely overcome. √ √ √ √ √ √ √ √ √ √ - 10/10 for you. |

Nonsense Be reasonable even in your hateful state. The money the church handles is a private contribution and is like any other. If I decide along with five other fellow in my neighborhood to contribute 100k each towards security and gutter construction, how is that the business of the government? That's what the church is. A trust system where people are allowed to contribute towards what they believe in. The church does not promote or support murder or ursurp the judiciary by creating courts, so what's the problem o the government. They mismanaged the natural resources we have and are targeting church finance. |
