Buhari seems only concerned about taming the church by making a law that gives nonbelievers power to ground church operation based on their perception of threat to vague & undefined "public interest".

Liar spotted. It takes only one Friday prayer to know they have to move the crowd elsewhere.

Christianity Etc › Re: Fg's CAMA Is Anti-church And Should Be Repelled-- Dr Peter Okpe Of Deeper Life by CodeTemplar:
Good analysis. With all the road obstruction in Nigeria by some religious group, they have not seen need to protect "public interest", a vague term which they have chosen to use against the church.
The law also opens the door to appoint a nonbeliever as the head of the church based on a vague or ambiguous condition - "public interest".

In addition to the above, let me state that the church is a private affair. Private people who accept the faith the church is built around, trust men they have accepted as sent by God and entrust them with money. Why should a third party want to step in when we have another religion that's already threatening public interest around the globe?

Is it not better to work clean and wear a so called fake designer cloth and shoe with peace of mind? I wish i could see the reactions of Phyno and Timaya behind the scenes because they prophetically warned this fat buffoon about his present predicaments but "dog wey go lost no go listen to whistle of it's owner".

To all the lazy bones and wasted sperms called Gee boys, yahoo boys or whatever, may you end your lives in misery and sorrow. Everything you acquired through fraud will disappear before your own eyes. You will not only return to square one, you will beg money to drink gaari when the consequence of your fraudulent ways hits back.

What is the difference between a yahoo boy and an armed robber? A yahoo boy robs his victims with gadgets and deceit, while the latter uses weapons to steal from innocent people. While we condemn and burn armed robbers, isn't it time yahoo boys face the same fate so as to serve as a deterrence to others?

To the empty skulls who will quote me and blame politicians for encouraging fraud may your parents be defrauded of their prized possession so you can feel the pain of scam victims.

The federal government has a lot to do in this regard. The national orientation agency needs to reorientate Nigerians on the dangers of fraud and encourage legitimate earnings. Crime doesn't pay. The law always win.
People need to know how the money system works. Money is backed by products and products come about by production. Every idle chaser of money is a threat to the money system and in line for God's curse. Prostitutes, Thieves, Gamblers, Fraudsters etc. They will not be missed by anyone and every totally expendable.

How did oyedepo get money to build companies and schools that you claim made him a billionaire. What is his day time job? Or did he inherit the wealth from his parents? Or what did he invent or patent? Answer pls, we are waiting.

I am not a Christian but I'm against that law. Only fools will give government absolute control over thier lives. This government that we know came in through propaganda and is sustaining itself by propaganda.

They have failed even as the most incompetent of men and as such cannot handles such authority. Because it wouldn't end in church control. There's more where that came from.

And yes, many have built empires in the name of churche, but it was done by FREE WILL. And to the contributors they believe their contributions are being put to the purpose to which they were given.

Even looking at it in the business sense, do you think the people will still contribute when they know you thieves are in charge of the funds?
Thank you. I am happy one or two reasonable people are still around.

You cannot term a contribution as money generated. It is as stúpid as stúpidity itself. What you have in the hands of church leadership is a contribution entrusted unto them by those who accept them as God's called and sent agents. If anyone feels there is mismanagement of such funds he is free to leave but forcing yourself upon the church leadership in what is suppose to be a mutual relationship is as daft as the idea of the devil himself.

these organizations have turned to rogue houses... many citizens are being scammed and Maimed right before our noses... it’s time to regulate it... no organization is bigger then the government.
The relationship between churches and followers is a mutual one held by trust and faith. Regulating the church against the wish of the members is against both the leaders and members who accept the leaders as God sent.
By the way, what goes around the church is a tiny fraction of wealth in the system so we know better.

BabaRamota1980:
The churches brought this upon themselves.

There are many muslim communities just like Zakzaky group in North. They mind their business and never get involved in govt issues. Zakyzaky stays in govt business all the time. Thats why he is in trouble now.

Jonathan set a bad precedence when he will have these pastors meddling govt business. They got too comfortable and started commenting on what govt is doing or not doing. When you are a tax exempt organization, stay away from govt the best you can. Put a long distance between you and govt. Govt has all the rules and ways to fvk up anyone, if they choose to. These churches did same thing Zakyzaky did, started fvkng with govt. So now govt wants to fcvk with them too. Its unfortunate but its reality.

There is a pastor in America called Pastor Dollar or something like that. He used to condemn govt and live large and flaunt. One of their legislators got on his case and wanted to probe him and his church. The Pastor got the message at that point.

If CAMA can bring out same result in Nigerian pastors it will be great. The money they waste on acquiring jets and building for-profit private institutions should be better used in promoting wellbeing and supporting needs of communities and people. At the end of it people benefit when churches come to their aid in time of distress and need.
Stop using big big English to communicate daft ideas.

Govt is a system where individuals are entrusted with power to manage what the people share in common. Their is no human being that isn't entitled to meddle with govt happenings. People didn't vote pastors to ministry they vote politicians to power and so have right to ask politicians to improve. Ministers (Men of God) on the other hand are called by God and it is up to you to accept them or not. It is cataclysmically stúpid to try and stand as a third party in the relationship between members and church leadership.
