Only your comment, makes a whole lot of sense to me.
All miracle of dead coming back to life was accompanied by a virtue of the beneficiary. The woman in Acts that God raised back to life through Peter was a charitable woman. The people mourning her even wore clothes she made them.
So who is that person being raised back?

I agree with you but the government isn't sincere in this part of the world.
Yes the govt isn't sincere but the stakes are high and these things are tempting to do any day anytime. Especially for a battered nation like ours.

Look at chocolate/coca. We produce about 20% of the whole raw cocoa of the world and can therefore control about 20% of the total cocoa/chocolate dependent market valued at $120 billion.
20% of that market is too tempting to ignore as it can employ hundreds of thousands of hands gainfully. I don't blame the Ivory Coast govt trying to intervene in their cocoa value chain. They know their primary responsibility but also know what their intervention can do for the coca farmers and the whole nation.

So you implying that the governor should set up industries? What if they are did, would they manage it properly?
One serious example I forgot in the first reply is that of our Banking sector. Under Soludo, CBN gave $7 billion to 14 banks around 2006-2007. $500 million each as intervention to increase their capital.
It was a form of intervention even though they tagged it as saving.

So you implying that the governor should set up industries? What if they are did, would they manage it properly?
Govt can always set up industries that serve the people but that isn't their primary responsibility.
Look at our oil industry for example, govt could have set up more refineries to help employ more hands. If refining of less than 20% of our crude can employ so many people then refining 100% could do five times as much. In other countries the right thing to do is for the govt to intervene.
USA as a country injects funds into her auto industry and this is primarily so that the auto industry can keep employing huge number of hands gainfully and save forex/shrinking of economy. Even subsidy of university education by nations is a form of intervention.
So other nations build the industries, other invite foreign investors and negotiate a majority share of the venture.
One thing is common to all, govt intervenes in private domain when the stakes are high and as long as they are determined they succeed.

They better take over as soon as possible. Many APC states are doing better in terms of infrastructures compare to Delta state.
You know one sad thing about the recent PDP defeat at the federal level, is how they fail to replicate the efforts of APC that dislodged them in 2015 presidential polls.
Think back to 2012-2015 when oil prices where up and APC had only some states to show their 'credentials'.
They tried to impress, tinubu was always writing articles and pointing out errors - technical errors, the PiGB was highlighted by APC often, and they were not just angry about power but shower hunger.
Can we say same about PDP states and PDP today? Never!
They prefer fire brigade tactics. It is sad they presented Atiku. Should have given the poleople a younger candidate and changed that party name.

Is the job of the government to create industry or to create conductive atmosphere for industries to strive?
The main job of the govt is provision of sane and conducive environment and conditions, but govts across the world are wising up and doing more.
Everybody is a private individual and everybody's job is technically nobody's job. This is the reason govt around the globe always go out of their way to protect individuals and private establishments.

For example, many national govt own oil companies that refine, explore and manage crude after setting up enabling environment for foreign and local investors to thrive. One thing though is in this particular case, the Ebonyi state govt is not too strong financially to assist with major industries but can still do something.

Well if i understand you to mean charging 450k in 2004 then thats a joke ;Dif you understand time value for money and how value appreciates you will know that 250k for CU in 2004 per semester was above average for nigerian universities..In 2006 BU charged that aimount when I started schooling and it was amongst the most expensive universities in nigeria..

Crime › Lady Runs Mad After Forceful Pant Gift From Boyfriend by CodeTemplar(op):
A 32-year-old physiotherapist, Rachael Godwin, has recounted how her boyfriend, an online fraudster popularly called ‘

yahoo boys

’ almost used her pants for money ritual. The lady who works at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Yaba, alleged that her boyfriend, one Olumide, in connivance with his partner-in-crime forced her to wear the pants, which he used for the ritual.

The lady who narrated her experience to newsmen at the police command headquarters, Ikeja, yesterday said she met and fell in love with the suspect in January 2018. According to her: “I met Olumide in a BRT bus going from Ikorodu to Ikeja. On the day, he directed me on how to get to the police headquarters during which we exchanged contact. We kept in touch for a while and he later told me he had Gonorrhea disease, which I treated him.

“We became close and then lovers. I guess he must have hypnotized me such that I really don’t know what I was doing then. I gave him my entire savings. He even lodged in a hotel for four months and I paid a bill of N185,000 at Ketu Kosofe.

“He later took me to his father at Ikosi. They live in a very unhealthy environment, which I pitied them and offered to help. I rented a house for myself in November 2018 and he visited me in the house that same month. On December 12, when he visited me, he said he wanted to buy a Venza, I asked him how much and when he googled it, he said it was N11.8 million. I asked him how would he raise the money and he said we should open a joint account. I took my house document to get a loan and even promised to gather all I had from my cooperative bank account.

“My trouble started on December 14, 2018, when he came to my house and gave me a pant to wear. I told him that I can’t wear the pant because I was not comfortable. He went to call one of my neighbour named Helen who helped him to force me to wear the pants. After which I ran mad and was taken to my mother’s house. They took me to Ibadan for treatment and I became better.

“I did not suspect him then. I kept relating with him. On December 31, I went to a church for Thanksgiving. I was given some prayers to follow up every midnight. He came back to me and was still living with me. While I was praying in January, Olumide started shouting, stop praying they have wired the money, it is only $2,000 from Alaska in USA.”

Confessing, Olumide said that he was shocked to discover that the $2,000 only amounted to N750,000. He alleged that he gave Helen N300,000 and gave another man some money.

Meanwhile the case is being investigated at the Command Headquarters, while the suspect is still in detention.

When I visited the country, I felt like sending 100 thousand AK-47s to the black slaves there to attack their Arab masters. If people stop paying tithe today, he might not go poor because he had amassed lots of tithes over the years. Yes tithes are not compulsory like you said but what about the emotional blackmail of members by quoting verses that threaten members to pay. They never teach how the Bible stipulates that tithes be paid and to whom it should be paid.

For all the claims of being super wealthy, we don't know of his wealth pre LFC and LFC makes money through members offerings and tithes, then they build schools that an average member can't afford, even a staff of the school can hardly afford the school. In my opinion, the government is better, because the government takes taxpayers money and use it to provide roads, health and other needs of the taxpayers at little or no extra cost. If the government want to make profits from us with what they collected from us, then they can provide world class facilities that only the very rich can afford.

I ain't hating I'm just stating the obvious friend...the schools ain't free and the commission makes alotta money from this enterprises so what is special undecided

Let's allow these matter rest the op had his opinion and I clearly stated mine which is the same opinion alotta Nigerians have..

Las las these school na for rich man pikin esp the uni.I know this because i attended Babcockl UnI which is charged at a premium infact at the time it was more expensive than CU....I was priviledged but what about millions of Nigerians?esp millions of other members..if you can afford a CU then you can afford to send your kids abroad so who benefits undecided

Besides it's mostly non members that have their kids in the universities esp Muslims who end up graduating from the schools as Muslims and children of politicans and the elite who end up sometimes worse in character than they came in because of all the restrictions grin grin

I know this because I have countless friends that graduated from CU and BU myself graduating from the latter... grin grin

Cheers mate
Oga liar stop it.
You are no insider.
As far back as 2004 when CU charged around N250k UI was getting average of N450k per student subsidy in some departments but looked nothing like CU in standard of service offered. You just keep coming up with lies to win silly arguments. You were never an insider. It is clear.

A group of revolutionaries seized power on behalf of Sankara (who was under house arrest at the time) in a popularly-supported coup in 1983. Aged 33, Sankara became the President of the Upper Volta. He immediately launched programmes for social, ecological, and economic change, and renamed the country from the French colonial Upper Volta to Burkina Faso ("Land of Upright Man"wink.[5] His foreign policies were centred on anti-imperialism, with his government eschewing all foreign aid, pushing for odious debt reduction, nationalising all land and mineral wealth and averting the power and influence of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. His domestic policies were focused on preventing famine with agrarian self-sufficiency and land reform, prioritising education with a nationwide literacy campaign and promoting public health by vaccinating 2,500,000 children against meningitis, yellow fever and measles.[6]

Other components of his national agenda included planting over 10,000,000 trees to combat the growing desertification of the Sahel, redistributing land from feudal landlords to peasants, suspending rural poll taxes and domestic rents and establishing a road and railway construction programme.[5] On the localised level, Sankara called on every village to build a medical dispensary, and had over 350 communities build schools with their own labour. Moreover, he outlawed female genital mutilation, forced marriages and polygamy, as well as appointing women to high governmental positions and encouraging them to work outside the home and stay in school, even if pregnant.[5]

Sankara exerted authoritarian control over the nation. He eventually banned unions and a free press.[5] To counter his opposition in towns and workplaces around the country, he also prosecuted alleged corrupt officials, counter-revolutionaries and "lazy workers" in Popular Revolutionary Tribunals.[5] Additionally, as an admirer of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution, Sankara set up Cuban-style Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.[1]

His revolutionary programs for African self-reliance made him an icon to many of Africa's poor.[5] Sankara remained popular with most of his country's citizens. However, his policies alienated and antagonised several groups, which included the small, but powerful Burkinabé middle class, the tribal leaders whom he stripped of the long-held traditional right to forced labour and tribute payments as well as France and its ally Ivory Coast.[1][7] On 15 October 1987, Sankara was assassinated by troops led by Blaise Compaoré, who took Sankara's office shortly after. A week before his assassination, he declared: "While revolutionaries as individuals can be murdered, you cannot kill ideas".[1]

Thomas Isidore Noël Sankara (French pronunciation: [tɔma sɑ̃kaʁa]; 21 December 1949 – 15 October 1987) was a Burkinabé revolutionary and President of Burkina Faso from 1983 to 1987. A Marxist and pan-Africanist, he was viewed by supporters as a charismatic and iconic figure of revolution, and is sometimes referred to as "Africa's Che Guevara".[1][2][3][4]
