grandiose4ever: Gerrard59 you know private universities are cultish in nature and they tend to look out for their own. I remember a case where a Covenant university graduate was arrested by SARS(he committed no crime) onetime and nobody could find him. The Alumni launched a search campaign, when they eventually found him with SARS the level of calls that came in that day was indeed powerful-he was swiftly discharged.
They have a vigorous Alumni that have gone to lay ground work for employment of people that graduated from their school and i think its partly responsible for the job shift.
Look at Dickson Nsofor, the CEO behind the multi billion naira Kora Network has almost all his staff from Covenant. Public schools don't do stuff like that.... Stop it. |

TINTINABULATION: Before their Alumni come to rant here, LET ME QUICKLY REMIND THEM THAT SUCCESS IS NOT ABOUT ATTENDING THE BEST SCHOOL(S). Congratulations. Nobody is saying success is by school. As a matter of fact success isn't by crowd mentality also. Even if the HR of all oil companies are from a particular school and they use their connection or form a confederation. |

where's oau btw.. it's almost like nothing goes on in that place again.. except for its students shouting oba awon university about.. Ha ha ha... This is a hint that school reputation in Nigeria will no longer be determined by who has the largest crowd screaming ... oba awon unifasiti !!! Education isn't a game of pride but there for both the advancement and dissemination of knowledge. |

Almost the entire community were gather and hell-bent on bringing it down claiming it's has been terrorizing the place for a while. I initially plea that they spare it life but they almost turned on me so I rested my case. They finally put it down and killed this harmless creature. I came to conclusion that the ignorance with the black man is caused by religion. We are been held back by the chains of religion. Your opinion are welcome. No insult please. Religion is reality. its the misinterpretation that is a problem. |

Land mass isn't a thing to boast about. The profs in those universities didn't create the lands and aren't utilizing them to great effect so what's there to celebrate about something you didn't create or improve upon? We need to stop celebrating quantity and start celebrating quality. |
Career › Re: 3 Ways To Discover Your Purpose by CodeTemplar: 1:01pm On Sep 26, 2018 |
To properly deal with purpose one must acknowledge the existence of a maker - God. Every thing in the physical realm has a maker and that maker determines the purpose of the entity made. Without God in the equation, our purpose will be close to those of lower animals and will center around physical growth and experience. I think this topic will be better discussed as a religiously inclined one. |

writerights: You got him wrong. He meant those he knew personally to have been admitted on merit and not the entire number of persons admitted on merit.
I hope you're not trying to absolve private universities of this blame because merit is not a list there. What OP is addressing hardly affects private universities and like I have been saying Public uni is run with public money and should be the real place people should demand lower fees and high level of transparency. The subsidy system in these public schools averages 350k per year and less brilliant minds who have nothing to lose by bribing a one-time 200k or even 300k will jump at the opportunity to invest 200k and reap over N1.5m in subsidy but the public uni guys will defend this because they are largely beneficiaries such porous system. OP is right. There is serious admission slot marketing to highest bidders in public schools. Around 2001/2002 in LAUTECH those running such racket used to have serious cult boys as muscle to handle the rougher details of such rackets. It didn't start with post-ume. POST-UME only made it official. |

SternProphet: This is arrant nonsense. By the way, what does this guy Adeboye know?. Do you know how many state governors are owing salaries?. What of the infrastructural development that the Aregbesola has built?. And about revolution. Do you know what it is? . Revolution is a violent uprising of people usually poor against an oppressive regime backed by rich people.
The people you should have rebelled against have stolen your future and your children's in 2014/2015. If it is Buhari you want to revolt against then you are a fool.
To say Jonathan is a good man ..this is serious destiny manipulation o. Why are Nigerian youths so stupid?. We have the most docile, tribalistic, counter revolutionary young people in this country. Jonathan maybe they will even arrest him abroad for Malabu oil. Malabu oil, they gave an Ijaw man the richest oil field in Africa but he sold it to Shell and shared the money to Jonathan, Hausa people, OBJ and many other people. Serious destiny manipulation and your sentiment and emotion will blind you.
What are they even revolting about?
DavidO will soon show off his Bentley and private jet on Instagram again this month. The dancing senator is from a dynasty of very rich, very comfortable people. Revolution ABI? Let me also shock you, Senator Adeleke cannot do that job. He cannot be an Executive Governor of any state to save his life. I say it again, your destiny is being used for super mario Aregbe took over N200B loans and from what I have seen so far, what he has done isn't up to N100B in infrastructures. Asides few roads projects there is hardly any project worth over half a billion. I challenge you to show us what he did with the maority of the huge loans crippling the state. |

PurestBoy: I went to a public secondary school here in Ibadan and that was where I did what they call practical, I mean real physics and chemistry practical, apparatus were evenly distributed. 2 students to 1. . . . but when I got to University (Lautech), chai, esp in 100L, like 100 students to one set of apparatus. We'll just copy from those that also copy from those in the front. Practicals in most public universities in Nigeria are full of shit. I saw more practicals in sec sch than public uni before switching over. |

enemmo: In 100 level physics, we had a lab experiment to determine the refractive index of a transparent object(angle of refraction) or so. There were many methods including the use of a machine. The Lab instructor warned us not to touch the equipment as there was only 1 functioning in the whole Uni. So we just went in groups of 5, inspected the machine and went out..and then wrote reports. That day was one of the worst days in my life. Private Universities have better facilities and access to practicals. Yet they are bashed and tagged inferior by public uni grads. It is well indeed. |

Ubenedictus: no dear.
Sins can't all be civil laws,
Civil laws are made to order society, that means they are concerned with those issues that affect others in society not just your private sins....
This is why I believe Nigerian homosexual laws are stupid, how can you legislate what consenting adults do in their bedroom, it is a law that is unenforceable. Why then can a few people interpret a particular religious book and attempt to foist their own understanding and interpretation of this book upon people who find themselves within certain territories in the society? I am talking of sharia here. We saw an injustice and kept quite and that injustice is now aligning with another one and it is harder to speak up about the newer injustice because they first one was permitted. |
