This is pure ethnic cleansing. If truly 300 cows were killed at N400k per cow that is N120m. The plateau state or even local govt could have easily reimbursed the alleged victims but the fact that no cows were taken or killed meant one thing. |

HigherEd: The SciVal - Elsevier rank refers to relevant research publications made by 8,500 higher institutions world wide with 38 million publication records from 21,915 journals of 5,000 publishers worldwide.
The 2018 Rank is 90% dominated by federal universities and would have been an all federal affair but for Covenant which emerged as the only non-federal university.
1) Covenant University
2) Federal University of Technology Akure 3) Obafemi Awolowo University 4) University of Lagos 5) Ahmadu Bello University 6) University of Nigeria Nsukka 7) University of Ibadan
University of Ilorin 9) Federal University Of Technology Minna 10) Federal University Of Technology Owerri
The dominance of this list by some of the most funded unis is no coincidence. |

Kasy08133625633: Why herdsmen killed over 86 people in Plateau – Miyetti Allah Ameh Comrade Godwin 1 min ago
Danladi Ciroma, the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has reacted to the recent attacks on Plateau villages by suspected herdsmen where over 86 persons were hacked to death.
DAILY POST reports that Plateau Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of 86 persons in the attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
Ciroma in a statement claimed that the attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.
He said despite the efforts of the state government, some criminal elements hiding among their people were still frustrating the peace efforts.
“These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.
“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.
“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks – 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu.
“Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas. Even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers and eventually escaped with all the cows.
“The government of Governor Lalong has done a lot to restore peace, but the criminal elements hiding among their people are the ones frustrating these peace efforts.
“Though the security agencies have tried, they need to do more by being fair to all parties; they should not neglect any report presented by Fulani of Berom because such report can lead to attacks and deaths if not properly handled.
“Criminals thrive a lot in Berom communities, but when the Fulani, who are always victims of their crime, react with attacks, they blame the government.
“These communities have leaders, why hide the criminals? They should fish out the criminals and hand them over to security agencies to avoid death of innocent ones.
“As it is today, the Berom man cannot go to farm, the Fulani cannot breed his cows in Berom Land. This can be stopped if the security agencies do more than what they are currently doing. The attacks will stop as soon as the security agencies stop Berom youths from stealing Fulani cows” he added.

I insist software engineers wrote a lot of shitty codes. |

Febup: Still the reason for these bugs is because software engineering majors are not the ones heading these software projects hence there will continue to be bugs in these software that are written.
Here are some comments from former self taught programmers:
1. I was self-taught. I learned I didn't know shit the first 2 weeks of uni. I learned more in 1 year than I learned in 10 years on my own.
Self-taught just indicates a level of desire, not level of competence. Being proud to be only self-taught to me means proud to be ignorant. It's a heuristic at best, but it's not too far off base.
2. Self taught (10 years), then formal. I have to say that the formal made me look back at how shitty I was (even though I appeared to be awesome among the sea of mediocre programmers). This profession does a poor job of licensing/certifying/validating those qualified to do the work.
3. In my experience, self taught programmers often lack the understanding of why you shouldn't do certain things that you can do. This then leads to less manageable code which makes changes take longer and longer.nges take longer and longer.
Source: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1209859 I understand the above as I am largely a self taught guy. For example I only stumbled upon Design Patterns after years by luck. It made me more aware of was and is going on in other peoples code. The point is even professionals are prone to such mistakes as what fired that dude in OP. |

Crime › 32 Fulani Civilians Killed In Mali Attack by CodeTemplar(op): 12:04am On Jun 25, 2018 |
At least 32 civilians were killed and ten are missing following an attack in central Mali, believed to have been carried out by traditional hunters, local officials said Sunday, as the government said 16 bodies had been found. Armed Dozo hunters, linked to the Dogon ethnic group, were suspected of ambushing the isolated village of Koumaga in the Mopti region on Saturday, killing dozens of Fulani herders, including children. “They surrounded the village, separated the Fulani people from the others and killed at least 32 civilians in cold blood,” said Abel Aziz Diallo, president of the local Tabila Pullaku association. Another 10 people were missing, he added. “The men were dressed in Dozo clothing but we wonder if they were all Dozo hunters,” said an elected official from the region, speaking on condition of anonymity. Violence has increased over the past three yearsn in central Mali between nomadic Fulani herders and Bambara and Dogon farmers, sparked by accusations of Fulanis grazing cattle on Dogon land and disputes over access to land and water. “Despite the deployment of patrol missions to central Mali on June 23, a violent clash” took place between communities,” the government said in a statement. “A deployment of Malian army forces despatched to the scene discovered 16 bodies and significant damage,” it added. Central Mali is a vast area where the state is nearly absent and jihadists, blamed for exacerbating the dispute, roam with little constraint. The Bambara and Dogon ethnic groups accuse the pastoralists of colluding with jihadists. The armed forces are facing increasing accusations of arbitrary arrests and extra-judicial killings in their fight against the insurgents. “What is happening is very serious. We must avoid confusion. Just because we are Fulani does not mean we are terrorists,” said Diallo. – ‘Deeply concerned’ – On May 19 a Malian soldier and at least 12 other people were killed in violence that occurred during an army patrol through a market. The army said the 12 were “terrorists” who had been “neutralised”, but local residents said they were civilians. The Malian army is often accused of making arbitrary arrests and carrying out extra-judicial executions in the fight against jihadists. On Thursday, the United States asked for a “credible and transparent” investigation following the discovery of the bodies of 25 Fulani in three mass graves in the Mopti region. Washington called on Bamako to recognise the involvement of “certain personnel” of the army. Canada, which has just begun to deploy some 250 peacekeepers in Mali, said it was “deeply concerned” by the alleged military involvement and called for the “perpetrators of these heinous crimes to be brought to justice”. Malian Pesident Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on Friday insisted on “the respect of human rights by all the military, which has an obligation to protect the population”. Mali’s unrest stems from a 2012 Tuareg separatist uprising against the state which was exploited by jihadists in order to take over key cities in the , French and UN forces, which are frequent targets of attacks. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/06/32-fulani-civilians-killed-mali-attack/ |

Some of them even go as far as bribing the people in the exam panels of the regulatory bodies like MDCN to pass their students. Stop peddling lies. The private units aren't different from their public counterpart. If you claim that private universities try to pass student at all cost because of huge fees then the public universities are worse. I say this because the amount govt spends on some public uni system is equally huge and ends up in the pocket of the lecturers. |
