PoliticsRe: Second Bach Of A-29 Super Tucano Fighter Aircrafts Depart US For Nigeria by Cognitivereason: 4:11pm On Sep 19, 2021
Nigeria indeed is investing in drones...but they have their limitations... The most capable drones are in the hands of the US and they don't export them...so we are left with cheap Chinese drones to buy
BuddhaPalm:
1. We can't afford the kind of military aircraft the US uses.

2. They don't sell the F-22 to anyone, for example. And some are only to very close allies.

3. Each country needs what is adequate and appropriate for the types of threats they deal with. This is enough for our situation, we are fighting goat herders in Sambisa.

4. We would have been better off spending a fraction of that money on much cheaper Turkish drones. About $2m apiece, vs the $400+m we spent on just 12 units of these.

Azerbaijan used them recently to show Armenia pepper.

U misinterpreted the point of the aircraft...
They are not designed to take on any plane..their primary and only role is ground attack / COIN...which is Nigeria biggest problem... No western country is at war or want to be at war with us ..irrespective of whatever we buy we can never beat the west...so tackling bandits and terrorist is if greater concern and the a 29 fit that role...

If at all we ever come in contact with enemy planes the new jf 17 block 2 4th gen fighter which is currently the 10th most sophisticated plane is up to the task..

Over all the aircraft u posted cost billions of naira per unit..just 3 jf 17 cost Nigeria 60 billion ...I can bet that not enough for 1 f 35..there are other pressing issues the worry about than a non existent fighter with other countries.
generalwo:
...... You sound like an idiot and I won't be surprised if you're one in reality.... I have attached the images of 3 fighter jets.... One of them is your super tucano A29..... One is sukhoi su-30 operated by the Russians and the last one is USA F-35.......now if you are sensible, do your research and tell me how you can defend yourself with super tucano 29 against the likes of f35 and sukhoi........ Even with your air superiority you're bragging about, bandits still slaughter your soldiers like meat everyday..... As bad and undeveloped as Iran and Iraq, they will overrun the Nigerian military in an out war with their air power...... No be only air superiority..... Na ground almighty.... Na this mediocrity and backward thinking of Nigerians like u go make Nigeria no ever move forward...... Plane wen small countries take dey train pilot na im you Wan take claim superiority.... Odeh

There is no such thing as a nuclear powered plane not to talk of a fighter aircraft..
The a 29 meets the demands if counter insurgency.... That is what was built for..
In COIN operations.. Speed isn't a top priority but the ability to fly at low altitude and accurately identity targets as well as high endurance.. All this can't be done with high and fast flying super sonic jets which are primarily designed for dog fight...

This plane is rated as the best light attack and most advanced COIN plane operate at any terrain.. U are not wiser than the US official who rated it with their benchmarks....

And FYI .the US after Brazil is the largest operator of the tucano
AllahThePig:
Who uses propeller planes in the age of nuclear powered jet engines?

And not only that, spending nearly a billion dollars on an outdated technology?

But I trust the dullards followers to drink his urine like champagne and eat his poo as if it is caviar.

I guess if a man is determined to be a fool, there's nothing anyone else can do to save him from himself.
CareerRe: Discrimination Because Of The Kind Of University Attended. by Cognitivereason(op): 11:12pm On Sep 17, 2021
So how about this..
I go to a top notch school like UI but I study a more or less bad course like fishery or educational course I go to an average school or less competitive school Like kogi state uni but studying a top notch course like engineering..
Which is better
lastchild:
it's not true, no matter how you present yourself, the school you attended can bring down your rate.

that's just the Nigeria mentality, why do you think people run to Europe to study, despite that some schools in Europe can't be compared with "university of Ibadan" there's one in Belgium that their citizens mocks, but the moment a Nigerian graduated with 3rd class from such low rated University and comes back to Nigeria, automatically he supercedes a first class student in UI.

if you said you graduated from unilag, in their minds they'll always rate you higher than someone that graduated from "Nigerian international Atlantic something something university"

that's just the fact, no matter how you present yourself

so i advise people to go for notable universities, e get why

True..ur comment is more of an encouragement... But the reality is what am asking about.. We know of the HND discrimination but....
When it comes to having a BSc from a less competitive school probably from the north..despite having a 2.1 or better..can that person be looked down on compared to those from competitive schools...

I ask cuz I have heard of such and I don't know if it really a thing in the Nigerian society..
In engineering for example despite the fact that it almost same syllabus in all fed of state university... A 2.1 graduate from FUTO or FUTA might be preferred over a 2.1 or even first class from let say taraba state university or so...
Fundamentalist:
It depends on how you present yourself . I attended a state university by even PhD holders from so called federal university can't stand on the same podium with me . You need to know your onions and have self esteem. Don't ever think someone is better than you. A pharmacist students are been taught same curriculum nationwide
PoliticsRe: Court Orders FG To Pay Igboho N20 Billion by Cognitivereason: 6:26pm On Sep 17, 2021
The main source of money to Fg is oil export
not tax..correct ur mistake..
Nigeria Tax to GDP ratio is a mere 6% and not significant compared to it revenue from oil
ChiefSosa:
Your ridiculously low IQ is one of the reasons you might find it difficult to comprehend things like this. My condolences to whoever wasted money and time to send you to school.
Now,let me put it to you in a simple way: the invasion done by the officials on Igboho's home will not only cost the officials, but it will cost the Federal Government and the Country as a whole. The FG's main source of revenue is the Tax (whether direct or indirect).

So, when they're paying Igboho or any other person that sues them; the money comes from the FG and the FG will pay from the taxes that you and I pay to them(the FG).
Let me stop here, I don't want to stress your minuscule brain. Toodles!
CareerDiscrimination Because Of The Kind Of University Attended. by Cognitivereason(op): 3:10pm On Sep 17, 2021
Apology for any typographical error
As a job seeker or regular individual with a degree, have u ever been discriminated because of the kind of university you attended..or do u believe one can be discriminated not because of a CGPA or grade of degree but because of the kind of university he or she attended

With the huge competition in getting admitted to high ranked schools like UNILAG, UNN and the likes...

Are there a bit of disadvantage for students who end up switching to less competitive universities..

Am talking about schools like maybe Gombe state university to pursue probably a good course like pharmacy which they couldnt study in the high ranked schools and eventually come out with good results..
PoliticsRe: FG To Spend $4.9bn Fresh Loans On Kano-Niger Republic Rail Line, Others by Cognitivereason: 2:54pm On Sep 17, 2021
Benin and Cameroon have ports.
Niger and chad don't.. And dey also do import and export and through other countries in stead of Nigeria which is closer..the rail is meant to DAT and improve the viability of the Lagos-kano-maradi line
ohosi4real:
If i may ask, why FG always focus on Niger republic than others Africa country like Benin republic who even more closer than Niger republic and others ?
PoliticsRe: FG To Spend $4.9bn Fresh Loans On Kano-Niger Republic Rail Line, Others by Cognitivereason: 2:47pm On Sep 17, 2021
The loan is basically for Ibadan to kano and kano to maradi...
But media because of click bait chose to report that of kano to maradi and use it as headlines
Lifestone:
We reason with lots of sentiment as a country. In my view, this project is all about competing for the share of trade routes to Niger Republic which is being competed for by both Nigeria and Benin Republic.
Niger Republic is land locked and will require access to Sea/Port through either Nigeria or Benin Republic. This is an economically sensible decision. The project is also significantly part of the LAKAJI corridor which was essentially designed to link Lagos to Kano to Niger Republic, that plan has been on ground before Buhari and it makes sense.
That project will certainly pay for itself given the success of Abuja - Kaduna and Lagos - Ibadan experience.
