oludy: My 2 cents guys.

The followers/believers of/in Jesus Christ were termed disciples before they were first called "Christians" in Antioch.
Dictionary defines a disciple as "one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another".
If we are disciples of Jesus Christ (Christians), we should accept and then spread the doctrines/teachings of Jesus Christ.
There were so many laws God gave the Israelites in the days of Moses which are not relevant anymore. They were meant for that dispensation.
When Jesus Christ came with his message of Salbvation, he changed most of them.
See mathew chapter 5.
I believe we should check out what Jesus said about any issue before we conclude.

What did he have to say about tattoos?
Really?

. In Matthew 5:18 Jesus says:

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.

It goes further to say; Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven

Isaiah 40:8, "the word of our God stands forever."

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I have not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

On a more serious note... no one is "attacking" atheists for being white men apologists... that line is only needful when atheists like you get too big for your breeches. It is quite hilarious to hear you all drone on piteously about how atheism is all about "thinking". I agree that many atheists are thinkers... i have a problem when you try to surreptitiously sneak yourselves under that banner. Since KAG and co left here, i am yet to see a nairaland atheist who can argue a point without running off to atheist websites to plagiarize stuff.

You should try to think next time before you post. Its a good way to conserve energy.
Ok,I agree. This back & forth can go on forever. So let's put this all knowing, omnipotent, omnipresent God to the test.Like he unequivocally stated in Malachi 3:10 Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.Or like he claimed in the days of Elijah vs the Prophets of Baal. This is an altruistic prayer.Devoid of wealth, family etc.And believe me,if God answers this prayer,I would go on my knees & beg for forgiveness that I ever doubted his existence.Heavenly Father,if you're truly out there, rid Nigeria of corruption this minute......Nothing happened. For the simple reason that there's no such God anywhere.I rest my case.

Christianity EtcCAN Calls Catholic Church's Bluff-'they're An Appendage Of The PDP' by cold(op): 1:46am On Jan 26, 2013
CAN dares Catholic Church, describes them as appendage of PDP

ABUJA – The Christian Association of Nigeria has dared Catholic block to pull out of the organization, accusing them of arrogance.

Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital threatened to pull out of the National Christian body over the alleged romance of the CAN leadership with the federal government.

CAN however blamed CBCN action on the loss of the Presidency to Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, rather than being too close to the government as alleged. Oritsejafor also doubled as the President of CAN.

The Public Relations Officer of the 19 Northern States of CAN and Abuja, Mr. Sunny Oibe, in an interview with Journalists, Wednesday night also described the conference as an appendage of PDP, who speaks with the two sides of their mouth.

His words, “There is no division in CAN and we are all speaking with one language. There are some certain elements in the leadership of CBCN led by Cardinal John Onaiyekan because he lost PFN Presidency to Oritsejafor who has a lot of achievements.

“There is no need for anybody to lose sleep over the threat by Catholics to pull out of CAN because without them CAN will still continue. The constitution of CAN makes provision that membership can be terminated by any group that is misbehaving or any group can also terminate their membership.

“Why is it that when Catholics were in the leadership of CAN, every bloc supported them but now because power has changed hands, they are threatening to pull out and causing confusion?”

“They have been agitating that the Presidency of CAN must come from the South. They are appendage of PDP and PDP themselves. They are known for double standards. A man of God should not be double speaking”.

Accordding to Oibe who is also the spokesperson of the President of “Tarayar Ekklisiyar Kristi A Nijeriya”, a conglomeration of 13 church groups in CAN, Catholics should not mislead the public even if they want to pull out.

He added, “The Catholics are claiming that the current CAN leadership has deviated from the vision of the founding fathers when they don’t even know how CAN came about. What did the Catholics know about the vision of the founding fathers?

“CAN was formed because of the marginalization of Christians in the North. The Christians in the North, particularly those of them from the TEKAN extraction came together and formed Northern Christian Association. It was that body that metamorphosed to CAN”.

He further disclosed that when CAN was to register during the Obasanjo’s administration, “the leadership was given to them because Catholics were in leadership; I want to correct that impression because they have been telling the world that they are the founding fathers of CAN.

“Catholics have accused the current CAN leadership led by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of being pro-government. But if you look at the whole scenario, you will be able to find out who between Oritsejafor and Onaiyekan is more close to government.

“The problem of Catholics is that they always display arrogance of knowledge. They don’t want to be under anybody but they want everybody to be under them. it doesn’t work like that because there is no seniority in CAN”.

Yawn!Your argument is hollow!I emphasized on 'kitting' to stress a point but I guess that flew over your head. Now about training and the requisite skill to carry out the task at hand, with all the evidence that has been provided to buttress the point that the Nigerian Army are very capable and can hold their own.If you're still holding tenaciously to your opinion then I really do not have much to say to you

Thus,Afua Hirsch and her minders at “The Guardian”(UK) WILFULLY and against the grain of professional ethics MISREPRESENTED the Nigerian reality as it concerns the Malian crisis.
WHAT skills or experience for that matter which would be relevant for that mission which are currently not domiciled in the Nigerian Army? The same Nigerian Army which has been training in Nigeria and the USA and deploying straight for action at the frontlines, thereby striking a balance between training and combat experience?

YOU BE THE JUDGE
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Troops Ill-equipped For War In Mali! by cold(m): 11:08am On Jan 21, 2013
Boyoorisha: There are speculations that due to lack of adequate training and discipline, the over 1,200 Nigeria troops would not be directly involved in combat operations to oust the militiamen from the northern region of Mali.

A United Kingdom (UK)-based newspaper, The Guardian,on its website yesterday alleged that men of the Nigerian Army deployed in Mali lacked the capacity to fight on the front line.

The paper quoted a senior source in Mali that the military contingent from Nigeria lacks the needed training and discipline to be relied upon to oust the Islamists from northern Mali prompting suggestions that the role of the men would be limited to security and logistics.

“The Nigerian Army is in a shocking state,” said the source, “in reality there is no way they are capable of forward operations in Mali – their role is more likely to be limited to manning checkpoints and loading trucks.

“The Nigerian forces lack training and kit, so they simply don’t have the capability to carry out even basic military manoeuvres. They have poor discipline and support. They are more likely to play a behind-the-scenes role in logistics and providing security.”

The source added that under plans for the enforcement of a United Nations (UN) Security Council-backed military intervention in Mali, Nigeria, alongside troops belonging to member states of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) are expected to lead forward operations.

The reality on ground as reported by the paper may have forced the governments of France, Germany, the United States of America (USA) and the European Union (EU) to consider the idea of further providing the Malian army with the necessary training, equipment and logistics support.

Ah ah!@Op this argument has been debunked & thrown into the heap of cheap, disingenuous propaganda & lies.

REJOINDER: “NIGERIAN ARMY’S MALI MISSION STALLS AMID DOUBTS IT CAN FIGHT” ; AFUA HIRSCH/’GUARDIAN(UK)’ MISLED THE WORLD THROUGH A DELIBERATE DISTORTION OF THE FACTS

Going into Mali, the core requirement is for troops who are trained in Counterterrorism, Counterinsurgency and Desert Warfare. Against the backdrop of the fact that unlike no time before in its history, the Nigerian Army are currently churning out CTCOIN-biased troops, the report which was scripted by Afua Hirsch was calculated to defame and to mislead.

* In 2012 alone, the Nigerian Army have trained over 8,000 troops in the RELEVANT counterinsurgency and counterterrorism skills of Close Quarter Combat, Fighting In Built-Up Areas, IED/Ambush Defeat, Hostage Rescue, House Clearing and trained combat engineers and K9(War Dog) teams, both at home and in the United States of America.
As we write this, another batch of 1,500 troops are undegoing training in the same arts at the all-new Nigerian Army Training Centre, ensuring that within the next few weeks, the total number of CTCOIN-biased troops trained in this one year alone would rise to 9,500 officers and men.

Afua Hirsch’s article becomes even more laughable against the backdrop of the fact that as recently as October 1st, the Nigerian Army commissioned a new 176 Special Forces Battalion. That would complement the older 72 Special Forces Battalion which has been in existence for a few years now and has already seen action in the Niger Delta and in our War on Terror.

This is to say that by the end of this month, the Nigerian Army should be in a position to say that they have put together enough Special Operations Forces and CTCOIN-biased troops to form an army division. More importantly, they have been inducted into battle, gaining relevant combat experience in the process.

Even if ECOWAS decide to send in 4,000 troops to Mali with Nigeria making up half of that number, how can a Nigeria with that number of troops(11,000) with tailor-made skills and experience applicable to the Malian situation be objectively assessed by any journalist worth her onions, as not having the men with the requisite skills sets? The Nigerian Armed Forces similarly undertake mandatory desert warfare field training – the geographical imperative for operating in Mali.

Concerning KITTING, there is nothing else to do than follow up the obtuse claims advanced by Afua Hirsch by showing photographs of the troops who are currently leading the War on Terror at this time inside Nigeria and from whose ranks the troops who shall be going to Mali will be drafted. Photographs presumably are still worth a thousand words.

It is instructive to note that the ONLY factory which manufactures night vision goggles and bulletproof vests anywhere in West, East or Central Africa was commissioned this year, a joint venture between Isreali firm MAROM DOLPHIN and the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria. What other items do we need going into Mali? For goodness sake, we even now produce Night Vision Goggles(essential for CTCOIN operations) and bulletproof jackets in Nigeria. So what was she saying about kitting?

PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Nigerian Troops Arrival In Mali by cold(m):
Cunt_Destroyer: You sound contradictory. Bull-pup weapons are more ideal for close range urban warfare than field range rifles like the AK-47 were accuracy, marksmanship and tactics will determine if you will live to see the next corner.
Terrorists usually start their careers as non-conscripted men who are apprenticed on the job. The AK is thus an ideal weapon in the hands of amateur soldiers as it is both easier to train on, use and maintain.
Scope sight firing is used under the cool and only professional bad a55 killerz can keep their shitt together in the heat of battle knowing that the dude firing an AK erratically and sporadically from a roof top is pissing on himself with fear.
If you require one-hit-kill headshots from your rifle, the bullpup just can't do that on suicidal missions. You can also get more 'kills', faster with the AK. Furthermore, sometimes you have no choice but to spray down a husk at close range, and the Kalashnikov does a much better job of that as well. It's simply higher DPS. The AK carries more than enough ammo in a mag for me, and even if it didn't, reloading is ridiculously quick as a commando.
PoliticsRe: Pictures Of Nigerian Troops Arrival In Mali by cold(m):
Cunt_Destroyer: Ak's are heavier than most other assault rifles. They are also inaccurate on either single shot or automatic fire and the wooden "furniture" is affected by moisture. The Russian 7.62x39 "short" round is also ballistically inferior to the 5.56mm NATO round used these days.

The AK also suffers from poor recoiling which makes it miscue on firing multiple rounds on a standing target and also the weight issue makes it difficult to compete in tight corners.

On the other hand it is reliable and simple to learn to use. This simplicity is what makes it inferior to other Assault rifles. The G-36 is my personal pick for best Assault rifle. Closely followed by Steyr AUG, M16A2/M4.
I don't know why people think the G36 is such a good gun, it LOOKS advanced but it's nothing special really....it fitted a red dot scope which is outdated...

The 3x scope is better, then actually nothing, people don't use red dot scopes any more, why did HK put a red dotted scope in G36... Did they ever hear of Optical Illuminum Technology...... while you have the other manufacturers like FN, SIG and AUG , which are all making next generation weapons

AK47's massive firepower and simplicity takes the win, modern warfare is all about urban combat anyway, people who complain about inaccuracy and care about."marksmanship" usually have mindsets that belong to FPS games and the 19th century. Look at the US in Iraq and Afghanistan now, with excessive bombings toward cities the insurgents have more hiding spots to ambush in city ruins, therefore battles take place in closer ranges. they're fighting counter insurgency therefore 7.62 is the ideal round to knock them off as the terrorists are fearless men

Yeah,I didn't miss where you stated the AUG
