Most Ijaw people have at least one parent or grandparent who's Igbo but their hatred for Igbos is beyond measure. and the fear of domination is nothing but inferiority complex Igbos are not sitting around waiting for govt handouts like the "Niger Delta" pippu these are the same "niger deltans" that cried marginalisation till a whole ministry of Niger delta was created and all the companies in their area are mandated to employ indigenes but these same lazy folks went and subletted their jobs for a fee to Igbos so they can sit around and fornicate, smoke Igbo and drink kai kai. They'll rather be harassing innocent citizens than work like others do On point again!!! (i'm lovin this chic). |

JustGood: vey wrong comparison. The Nigeria Police just dont know how to treat human beings. Its different from the british Police who treat you different simply because of the colour of your skin. I don't think it's a wrong comparison. One would expect to be safe with his own kith & kin but alas this is not the case.U don't expect to b harrased everyday by the police in the UK,i blv Anichebe's case is a one-off, though unfortunate is not a regular feature of the UK police. |

I will defend the UK cos I'm from the UK.
I have travelled extensively to almost all continents and the UK is the most tolerant country to live in.
If you dress like a hoodie or chav and have a bad attitude or a complex, what the hell do you expect?
Before yarning dust, guys should name a more tolerant country outside Black Africa. u don't even have to go that far.Wld he have been better treated by the Nigerian police?U're treated wit more respect by the police in the Uk than in 9ja. |

kiwi992: Hi,
Warning number two:
In India, there is the caste system. The darker the colour of your skin, the lower down the social ladder you are. Indians, especially the Hindus practise this. Please don't forget. I've been to their country and saw it all with my eyes. Absolute disgrace if you ask me - an absolute disgrace.
The parents of my Indian female friend agreed to my marrying their daughter. My friend wanted me to marry her and so approached her parents about it and they agreed to it. Sadly, I backed out of it after careful consideration. I felt sad about it but I knew that I made the right decision.
The first word that I learnt while in India was 'kala' - meaning black. I kept hearing that word everywhere that I went in New Delhi. I then asked the hoteliers and so they told me what the word meant.
In the UK, the Asians (strictly meaning Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis) suffer the most racism as compared with the blacks, yet they, the Asians would discriminate against you more than the whites. If they ever see you with one of their girls, they would never stop staring at you. I experienced this whilst going out with Azra who was Pakistani. I finished the relationship 'cos I got sick of the stares.
Maybe he wants to marry you because he'd like to go and settle in Nigeria or he is after some paper. Let one Asian into your village and his Indian family and friends would use all the tricks in the book to come and settle in Nigeria. Trust me, I know the Asians very well 'cos I have many of them as friends. I've lived in their houses as well, whilst living in student digs.
The Asians are very materialistic and the men are put under a lot of pressure by their family members. You won't see his salary at the end of the month because it would go into the family coffers. His parents would keep the money. They are very crafty people as well. They like to act daft but they aren't.
Oh yeah, you'll be treated like a slave or even worse. The whole family would move in with you and you'll cook for everyone of them all the time.
Hope I've not rained on your parade. Sorry about that, if I have. I was only trying to open your eyes to what the Asians are like. Experience is the best teacher they say but you don't have to wait and experience it yourself. Learn from others' experience.
You've been warned as a fellow-Nigerian.
kiwi992. Man u sure laid it on thick. My first real close friend in the UK was a truly Asian queen, precisely from India, and oh dear If only looks cld kill i'd be dead by now. Some where so bitter they cldn't hide their disdain.I was reminded of honor killings by my friends, and in spite of my feelings towards her, eventually i had to step on the brakes. Afterall self preservation is the first law of nature. |

I'v bin away from NLand for a long while but i'v bin obligated to maq a response to this issue. This is not just an ethnic or political issue this is more or less a religous issue.I have often said this on many occasions;there is no such thing as a moderate muslim.Every muslim(even the most moderate)has more violence in him/her than the average non muslim.I'm currently involved in a research on terrorism and my research has shown that a single thread runs through all sects of Islam. This is a religion that thrives on extremism, fanatism, violence and terrorism. From India to Jos the story is the same.Even in europe nobody is safe from these "God's warriors". I was born and bred in Jos,as a matter of fact i'm a Jos thoroughbred. It's heartaching to hear blood curdling stories like these.,i'v just bin informed that my house bak home has bin razed to the ground by these street urchins, these miscreants of a misguided religion who hide under the guise of politics to destroy the hardworks of honest pple.I urge the Jang administratn to taq a more drastic measure,no more "4give & 4get".Somthing has to be done to serve as a deterrent to this wahabi, salafist, shia, sunni, izala, yassin sect bastards. It is time for the hospitable hardworking pple of Jos to stand up & say NEVER AGAIN to these talibans. |

Ceeno E vu: ordinarily I don't think I need to respond to this thread but some of the responses here dey fear me plenty o. I hope all the young men that have been bashing the girl really know what consitutes rape, especially when you step out of Nigeria. Even if the woman slept in your bed/house overnight and allowed you to smooch even when you were both naked, it can still be considered that you raped her if she can prove that she asked you to stop and you refused.
The most gruesome thing I ever heard was the case of a young man that caned a girl (in UK). When the girl was ready to leave, he asked for another round and the girl refused. He eventually went ahead to force her and of course he went to jail for rape. This was after the court was convinced that they already had sex before the round in dispute.
Of course the poster is absolutely stupid, but I just hope you guys won't allow people like these to mess up your life with their stupidity. This is especially important if you are outside your own country. I think we're on the same page here.Almost ran in2 trouble ova the weeknd when one drunk white chick was pleadin profusely that i shld taq her home wit me.Of course i declined because i knew she was under the influence. What wld happen in the mornin wen she bcomes sober,i cld be cld b sued for rape.Ordniraliy in Naija i wld hav wasted no tym.Oh i how i miss home!! |

chykeo: Different folks , Different strokes or the other way round! Anyway, I am already going home on the 16th of October and I plan to stay very very long before coming back , if I will ever come back. Europe and America are only good for visiting and not for living. Come shop, relax and go back home but to come live and hussle NO.
I think it is out pof fear of the unknown that makes people not want to go home. Most of us lived and schooled down there and were used to the systems so light or no light we can achieve a lot back home.
The problem with Nigeria is caused by Nigerians. No be Oyibo do us na we do ourselves. Cassius told Brutus that "the fault dear Brutus is not in starts but in our selves for we are underlings." Men and women working apart created these problems and men and women working together can solve these problems.
We know the kind of lives we live over here in Euroe and America. 90% of Nigerians in these places are not living well and that is the truth. Before u start talking , I have all the legitimate papers of staying here in Europe but men EAST OR WEST, HOME IS BEST.
Try visiting home and see the effects of overstay in Europe or America has done to you. I know in your village there must have been somebody that came back after 40 years overseas empty handed and with grey hairs who is now living with regret. A lot of us have even overstayed and na shame make them dey talk say them no fit relocate back home finally. Like Okonkwo said in Things fall Apart when he came back from exile to meet his fathers home and clan all ruined "maybe I was away for too long" LET THAT NOT BE UR CASE
GOD BLESS US ALL U hav raised some salient points here.I can't help but agree with u.No mata how long u stay in a foriegn land u'l always be regarded as a second class citizn and a lesser mortal when in fact most of us are a lot more intelligent than these white folks. As for me Naija is where its at,i'm feelin nostalgic already. |

Politics › EFCC-on The Heels Of Rotimi Amaechi Over Humoungous Fraud by cold(op): 1:04pm On Oct 12, 2008 |
Author: Posted by Admin Sahara SaharaReporters, New York
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today charged Mr. Nyeson Wike, the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, with various counts of stealing N4.67 billion from the state’s coffers.
Wike was arraigned before Justice Abimbola Banjoko of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Gudu area of Abuja. He is charged with six counts of stealing, abuse of office and embezzlement of public funds.
The first count accuses Mr. Wike of stealing N129 million, the second involves stealing N41.9 million, a third count accuses him of stealing N100 million, while the sixth count states that he pilfered N3.5 billion naira.
On Monday, EFCC officials arrested and detained Mr. Wike after he showed up at the agency’s offices accompanied by the secretary to the state government, Magnum Abbe. Mr. Abbe was also detained, but has been released on bail pending further investigations by the agency regarding financial scams perpetrated by state government officials using a state account domiciled with Zenith Bank in Port Harcourt.
The charges against Mr. Wike reveal that N4.67 billion went through his personal bank account at Zenith Bank. A senior EFCC official told SaharaReporters the agency suspects that the funds were laundered by the state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, through Wike’s account.
A source close to Amaechi confided in our correspondent that the governor and his strategists are designing strategies to evade direct interrogation of the governor by EFCC officials.
Governor Amaechi traveled to London with the commissioner of finance as well as the state Accountant General ostensibly for “official reasons.” An EFCC official told our correspondent that the agency is interested in questioning both the governor as well as the finance commissioner and accountant general “in order to get to the root of the shocking movement of state funds through private accounts.” |
