opsy4real1: @collinsfbi, i been making arrangements to get a medical appointment at a south african hospital wit da help of a friend in S.A. He was askd to come back on Tuesday for the medical appointment confamation against 3rd wk of Novemba. Once i'm able to get dat, do u confirm i'l be able to submit my visa application at anytime and day i wish to? Cos am confused at the advice u gave this man to aply thru medical and u said even at that he cant submit soon than he thinks. Has d procedure changed again for d case of medical visa application?cos i wana apply immediately i get the appointment confamation.
Am sure you don't understand my post, I gave him two options of using her aunty's acct statement for medical reasons or fund his personal acct even if he manages to get his personal acct funded, he won't be able to go for earlier submission unless using something as a cogent reason and that is the only option recognized and accepted by South African Embassy is by giving medical reasons to support your application aside applications made under corporate entity. In this case no medical examination required, no interview, no implications for using such but try and arrange all your supporting documents coherently.

kasablanky: Hi
Am a music producer also I can sing I met girl on internet she ask me to come to south dat is going to help me on my career, pls advise me as a music producer can be able to make it there
I don't think I can really give you the advice you need but I think naija is where you can really make it even if you are singing rubbish or producing nonsense, what matters is to make your $$$$$$, I won't discourage you from going to SA but don't you think it's easier to promise people but fulfilling is another issue most especially someone you don't know. Our naija type of songs is different from what is in vogue in SA, what we sell or buy in naija is musical beats even if the lyrics is nothing to write home about. Think about it.

babsademola: God bless you sir.... My aunty works with the General Hospital so she's not a Company owner.

Secondly, I hope funding my own personal account will be another problem because I'll have to wait till some time before I apply. Originally, I wish to travel before December. Please suggest another option sir.

If South Africa will not work with my Aunty's account, is there any other Country that I can easily process with this?

PLEASE KINDLY ASSIST WITH DETAILS SIR!!!!
I think you are getting it all wrong, I never ask your aunty to use her own company letter head, I was only referring to her place of work letter head paper and thank God she works at a General Hospital, using her place of work letter head paper makes it look official but that does not mean she cannot use an ordinary paper. Getting early appointment now is where the problem lies and the only way by which you can submit your application now is through medical category. Get a letter from your medical doctor and get an appointment confirmation from SA either online or through email and go for submission. Am sure you don't expect me to start telling you the type of ailment you are to claim. Think of one and get a coherent supporting documents and go for your submission, nobody will interview you, only your submitted docs will speak for you.

babsademola: Please sir, am very much interested to travel to SA this year November but I have not yet apply. My aunty wants to sponsor me and she has around #1m in her firstbank acc....I wish to spend just 3months there and come back to Nigeria by January next year. I'm just 21yrs old and what I really want to do is, come back home after 2months and apply for UK student visa.

Please, kindly list for me all the documents I need to submit.
Check page 3 of this thread

Secondly, do you think I'll be granted the visa?
As long as you can convince the embassy of your return and sufficient fund for your trip but using your aunty's account is a great disadvantage as you are already above 18years.

Please help me out sir!!!
You will be granted visa under medical but you must be able to show little fund in your own account even if your aunty will sponsor you claiming you are not working and she is ready to take responsibility for your trip and medical bill. Your aunty must support your application with letter of support/sponsor (in her company letter head) stating your relationship, your health status and taking responsibility for your trip and bill supported with her bank statement of account, copy of her passport/ID, tax clearance if possible,CAC of her company, letter from your medical practitioner stating your health status/support for medical attention abroad, confirmation of appointment with SA clinic/hospital/medical practitioner. if you can't do that then let your aunty make fund available in your account but not lump sum even at that you won't be able to submit your application as early as you may want to.

Thank u for the links but unfortunately I dont undastand why all the hospitals i emailed seem to provide wrong emails as all were returned to me as 'mailer deamon'. Infact i want u to note that prior requesting for suggestions frm u i searched and emailed over 12 diffrent hospitals inclusive of Johanesburg hosp, life baecon bay hosp, life st .George hosp.etc but they all failed to deliver. Now same is happening afta going thru emails of hospitals frm d link provided. Thx and av a relaxing sunday.
Then visit here; http://doctors-hospitals-medical-cape-town-south-africa.blaauwberg.net/index.php and select either "Audiologists - Hearing Specialists" or any other area of treatment then contact each of the available clinic/doctor for that area of specialist through mail. Note most of the doctors don't have online appoinment schedule except for Dr. Carol Thomas - Gynaecologists and Obstetricians which make online appoinment easier for female patients http://doctors-hospitals-medical-cape-town-south-africa.blaauwberg.net/details.php?id=517

Have been using mine for up to two years now and I think I know my car better, V6 engine normally have 3plugs at the front and the other three a bit behind.

opsy4real1: Awaiting response bra
Am sorry, i have been busy somehow, go this site; http://www.netcare.co.za/live/netcare_index.php select a location of your residence/intended stay, then select a hospital/clinic, contact then through their email addresses to scheduling appointment for treatment. Print their approval to your request and add to the letter from your doctor to support your application. Mind you, this does not affect your normal hotel booking but just make your hotel booking same location with hospital to be selected.

opsy4real1: Yea, i included hotel booking confirmation wit holiday inn express hotels and suites and flight itinery.
How do I apply for medicals?thx
Sorry for replying late but you will need to present two documents to support your application for medical. First, get a letter from your doctor address to South African Embassy stating the condition of your health and their support for travel to South African for proper and advance treatment. Secondly, contact any registered and recognized clinic/medical centre in South Africa through email or any with electronic appointment schedule system, fix a date with them and print out your the confirmation of your appointment or their approval to your mail to support your application. With these documents, you can go to South African application centre any day any time for submission. Just tell the men at the gate that you are submitting for medical and show them the two docs, they will allow you in and most importantly applications for medical are not normally denied except if you don't have sufficient fund in your account.

Ikenna351: In as much as i would say congratulations for having your car running again, but am very disappointed with your lack of interest in what it takes to own a car.

Someone brought a part, as big as that (from the picture) and replace it and the car started running again, but you didn't bother to ask him what the part name was. You were only desperate in getting your car to start running again, but not interested in what really went wrong or what caused the issue.

Anyway, for the sake of others, from the picture of the part he claimed was replaced and got the car running again, the part is called Distributor. Its proberbly the Rotor or Distributor Cap that failed and wasn't passing or sending high volts to the spark plugs.

Paying little attention or putting interest in our cars, is what will make them last longer.

Ikenna
Thanks for your comment but always try not to coin insults within your words. what was replaced in the car is the distributor but popularly called "ignition" among 98% of Nigerian mech. It wasn't the distributors' cap, though it sparks after testing but it may has other damage component within such as coil and others.

Thanks

TCD: @collinsfbi, please where did you buy this car? Cotonu or naija? How much does it cost? How has it served you so far as regards maintainance, fuel economy ? Are spare parts cheap and readily available? I'm looking to buy the same 323, so i'd like your opinion seeing as you're a user yourself. Thanks
The car is good but expensive to maintain in the sense that the parts are a bit costly being America production but available anytime anyday @ladipo market, if you will like to have one pls go for the 4plugs because mine is V6 though i enjoy it when on the road but consume fuel like normal V6, no toyota/honda car with 4plugs can withstand it but the V6 is the common ones in the market today and it requires proper maintenance and regular servicing. I bought it in naija around 700k but it should be a bit lesser than that now.

opsy4real1: Ok sir. Yea my initial application was on 17 Dec 2011 and was made to realize processing time was btw 6-10working days to get ready but unfortunately got my passport back on feb 13,2012 wit a refusal based on 'invalid vaccination card'(yellow card got tru som1 though)
I applied as the MD/CEO of a biz enterprise. And I submitted photocopies of d biz reg wit CAC, letter of introduction and indicating my purpose of
Visit, I.D card, personal statement of a/c, photocopies of previous visas.

I reapplied feb 28 and got d vaccine card frm local govt health centre but i had to withdraw my application in toward d end of may because i exhausted my patience wen it wasnt treated in time n needed to use my passport for other purposes...now i wanna reapply but d appointment wait time is nothing to write home about.
From your list of docs i can't see your hotel booking or letter of invitation but i will advise you to include a paid hotel booking this time and pls note; South African Embassy consider some vaccination cards invalid most especially cards with old date (e.g 1969) compare to some with 20XX date. If you can't endure the appointment date issue for submission, apply through medical.

valentino81: NLDERs, will someone who is applying for tourist visa in S.A that is self sponsored using his own regstd busness cert include tax clearance certificate regadless of using either personal or company account? And the letter of purpose of visit; is it to be combined with letter of intro, or done sepaprately and what's the best method preferable? Looking forwrd to responses ASAP.
If you have a registered business, it will be the best to include your company docs which will serve as tie to your home country. Since you are sponsoring your trip yourself, your personal statement of account must be included regardless of the company statement but if you still want to include your company statement of account, no problem, but make sure your personal statement of account has enough fund regardless of any amount you have in your company account. Besides, your letter of application for visa must contain the purpose of your visit and must be done separately from your letter of introduction which can be done with your company letter head stating your relationship/position with the company.

ziqqz: Baba Collinsfbi!

I hail thee.

Pls lemme double-check one last matter with you... Abeg have you got any clue about what the minimum amount required in a bank statement for tourist visa purposes may be?
From 300k above, you are free to go.

And, on the other hand, having taken your words into consideration too, I have decided to just give it a shot. I will apply with the same passport with which i returned from the US. I do not plan to use any fake documentation whatsoever because I have basically all the core requirements for a visa. However, I will not include a company letter-headed/employment document because I am not employed in Nigeria. I think sticking with my current passports will make my application VERY strong due to my extensive travel history. I considered getting a new e-passport with new names that I will have legally adopted (except my surname of course). But that would make me a first-time traveler in their view, thereby significantly weakening my application (my assumption is that virgin passports and first-time travelers generally have it tough).
I think it's better using your current passport, though it's not that tough applying with a virgin passport but it's not the best for you and it will render many of your current documents useless. One more thing, if can as well invest in SA that is if you really have what it takes as you claimed, you won't regret it and you can easily connect to any part of the world through SA.

Plus, seeing how the Super Eagles mauled Liberia yesterday, I may just have found one more reason to visit SA. Again, it's just gonna be a holiday while I sort out my Brasil move. I'm already down to two lawyers after screening a whole lot of them who can handle the process of getting my Brasilian permanent residence by investment. Within this week, I'm sure I'll make a final choice, and then the processing - from business registration to clearance for my visa in my home country - usually takes about 60 days. So after this is done, I guess my time in SA would be done too.
smiley smiley smiley

My plan is to apply for a 12-week tourist visa. I have a ticket I bought through kayak. I made cheap hotel reservations through agoda dot ccom, in Jburg, Durban and cape Town - staying 4 weeks in each city. My visa application wil also include all the connecting flights between all these cities, because i also booked them online. All other matters are straight. I'll only cross my fingers about the discovery of the US record.
Make sure you use a paid hotel besides you don't necessarily need to book hotels in many cities and you don't need to state that you will stay for a whole of 12 weeks. In most cases, all you can get is usually 3 months multiple entry as first time applicant in which you are not expected to stay up 12 weeks. I will advise you to state maximum of 2 weeks and make hotel booking in just one city. You will be granted a 3 month multiple entry which allow you to stay more than the 2 weeks depending on your ticket reservation which must correspond with you hotel booking when applying. If you don't want to return after some weeks before the visa expires, you can stamp out from any neigbouring country close to SA and return to SA.

If you have a registered company, then you can go ahead but you must be careful with how you structure your purpose of visiting most especially if you are going to use either of the company statement of account or personal account. SA visa is the easiest to get but over confident or ignorance can lead to wasting of application fee.

Please, I need your urgent response.
Yes, you have no problem
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by collinsfbi(m):
opsy4real1: Is that so? U mean its impossible to submit application that same day and that if I go today I might not be able to get it done? This is rubbish if so
Now it's advisable for first time travelers to plan their trip by booking appointment for submission ahead of time else you can no longer submit your application any time you want it. This policy has created an avenue for "Visa Agent" to dupe and bill applicants exorbitantly because they want to submit their application in time. Note: they will brainwash you that they have inner client who will facilate earlier appointment for submission and they will charge you, with eagerness to make earlier submission you will accept, meanwhile it's all lies, they will only apply for you with fake documents through corperate clients or medical. If you are eager to make earlier submission without any visa agent you can do it yourself only if you wish to do such a thing. Contact any recognised South African Medical Clinic online and book appointment with them, print your appointment page which must contain your name, date and if possible your address and possport number then you are good to go for submission any day of the week. With your printed medical appointment page the security men will allow you in any day of the week for submission.

Our names and Passport numbers were written on a booklet and you will be given a number.

December is way too far for me. Dunno what to do.

They only attend to first-time travelers Thursdays and Fridays. Every other day for frequent travelers.
That has been the system since July this year. Only Abuja application centre allows submission for all categories all days of the week on first come first serve system with maximum of 100 applications daily. Meanwhile Lagos application centre allows submission for frequent travelers, medical and cooperate clients on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday only while first time applicants are scheduled for Thursday and Friday of every week with maximum of 200 applications daily in all.

opsy4real1: thank u boss. It was a general issue for quite sometime and they claimed d delays was due to d backlog of application during da fuel subsidy strike frm january. Then i read in their (south africa high commision)july news that processin of visa time has been reviewd to 6-10 working days but that they now only accepts 200 applications per day. I actualy wanted to find out if sum1 applied afta dat period at lagos and if they truly maintained what they claim regard the 6-10 working days
After that period, i know of people who got their visas in less than a week, however the processing time can exceed the 10 days stipulated if applicants are required to provide supporting document within a given time frame. So, you don't have to be afraid of anything as long as you don't have skeleton in your own cupboard.

sultaan: Its a bit confusing but the clearer we get your point the better it is resolving this issue with no testing equipment.

The easiest way would have been to have a scanner and a multimeter.

The arrow points to distributor, there are some things that can prevent it from working, but we need to know if the its ok by getting spark at some of the plugs since you said "did not supply current to all the engine six plugs"

If you are getting any spark to your plugs your car will run rough so I'm assuming no spark so remove distributor cap and look for unusual thing like a streak of carbon buildup or bad rotor.Donot remove the plug wires (you do want a mixup)

I hope you understand that when you distributor is good, you check the cap to see why its losing electricity before the wires
Appreciate everyone who contributed to this thread in one way or the other. My car finally start on friday evening, meanwhile i called someone from Ladipo who came to scan the car. Thereafter, he suggested i change the ignition components with the arrow on the picture completely. So, he went and brought another ignition component, lo and behold, he fixed it and the car starts. Am glad it works.

Hey guys!

I have read through this thread, and I'll start by saying a big thanks to the moderators and/or initiators who take the time out of their undoubtedly busy lives to help others who are lost and/or curious about their SA travel plans.

With that said, may I take my turn now to ask a few questions (your patient reading and attempt to understand is appreciated in advance!)?

I have been back in Nigeria for about 5 months. I was removed from the USA while studying for a Master's degree in Hawaii, the reason being that I got involved with the wrong girl who was bent on punishing me for her own drunken mistake (details too much to go into, but I still feel sad that it may seem like I have only succeeded in contributing to nigerians' detrimental image abroad. fact is, I am not a bad person. I attended a private uni in 9ja for my bachelor's and had traveled widely in europe and north america before my last trip to the usa. i was just a victim of circumstance, and i have accepted my fate)

Well, back to the issue. I am trying again to get my life on track. I may be close to zero now, but i am working to secure a permanent residence visa for brazil, which i can do by simply investing $75,000 in that country. I can raise this sum in a few months, but until then, I want to stay out of 9ja before someone in my family (or close to my family) spots me in the country. (Oh, did I say that I refused to inform my family about my US palaver for fear of breaking their hearts. I will definitely tell them at a later date when I am better established). So I have decided to head up SA for about 3 months on a tourist visa. Ordinarily, and for my own reasons, SA would be the last place I would like to visit. But now that only an internet search with my names can reveal the trouble my US troubles, I am not even confident of going back to other european embassies that used to grant me visas, because they may ask or find out about my US conviction and possibly deny me visa.
You struck a deal and end up in naija yet you have never learnt a lesson and you still need a hidden place to raise $75,000 in few months when you are not working or running a business. Do you think SA embassy is so worst to the extent that they will not find out? Applying with your current passport or any fake doc will increase suspicious in which the embassy may require additional documents most especially if you are trying to use fake documents.

So, my questions are thus: Is the SA embassy strict about the company introduction letter? I am not employed in Nigeria and I have no plans of using forged documents. Does anyone think they will find out about my US conviction even if i don't mention it? My current epassport has the US study visa I came back with, but thankfully there is no deportation stamp on it, only a line across it drawn with a common pen and hand-written "cancelled", while my old passport is full with old visas and expired. I could go get a new epassport, but that would mean i will be treated as a virgin traveler. On the other hand, if I use the current epassport with the US visa, I risk being asked about why it has cancelled written on it. So do you think I should go with fresh epassport or continue with my current one with the US visa on it? And finally, do you think the embassy ask me to get a police clearance from US since I stayed there well over 6 months?
SA embassy is not that strict but Nigerian has provided an avenue for them to be strict and now they do deny applicants most especially if you are found using fake docs. The essence of the company letter of introduction is to convince the embassy that you are working and you have ties to your home country but your case is complicated. Getting a new passport will not solve your problem though it can facilitate your easy securing SA visa without arousing suspicious even without company letter of Introduction. You can change you passport but you cannot change your name, your finger print and the record you created for yourself in the US. Even if you get SA visa on new epass, don't you think you can still be caught if you try to use the new pass to process visa to some European or south/north America countries and it will further jeopardize your chances of traveling to any country in the future? You can came back less than 6 months, if i were you , i will forget about traveling to any country for now. Going to SA will not solve your problem and if you think your family will not find out about your situation in the US, do think you can cover it from your family for life? I will advise you to stop running around and face reality.

Let me restate please, i have no plan on settling in SA. I just want to be away from 9ja while I generate the funds necessary for my Brasil residence visa (I trade FX so pls do not think I do yahoo yahoo). SA will give me the steady power supply I need, a conducive environment without the fear of boko haram bomb etc.

I could go on, but I guess I have written too much already. I ask for your understanding if/when you reply. I do not ask to be judged. I ask your compassion and brotherly/sisterly feedback.

Thank you in advance of your favorable response(s)
I am not trying to judge you but am not convinced you are traveling to SA purposely to trade FX, although naija power supply may not be that stable but you can still do that in naija. My brotherly advice is you stay back in naija.

pappy2000: Bros why cant we trash the issue of rent.I have checked Guntree and the prices are a bit high from what i heard from the word of mouth. Can you give pratical advice on the issue of housing. Looking for housing of R1000 which is comfortable.the shared ones.Your advice on this will be highly appreciated
Obviously you can't get a room for R1000. From my initial post, i said you can get a shared room for R1000 each if shared with someone including bills and getting such house is not a problem provided you have a place to stay temporarily before getting such. If you have someone in SA, try and negotiate where to stay first upon arrival or stay in hotel if you can afford it before getting settled.
