Msauza: . North West University differs considerably from UNISA. The NWU presents majority of their Degree programmes on a full time bases, while UNISA specialises in distance education. It is only short learning courses that are offered on part-time in NWU and has three campuses, namely, Mafikeng, Vanderbylpark and Potchefstroom campus. Unfortunately, you did not give much finer details as to why would they delay your application, because there is no reason if you presented them with your passport and admission letter from NWU, your Nigerian school results that had been evaluated and converted to SA point/score system by SAQA and your certificate of clean bill of health. For the fact that UNISA specialises in distance education according to you, do you know they still operate some class based courses as much NWU operates some distance learning courses. Anyway, no qualms. Gbamm over n out |
tzetzefly: I have been to SA for like Four(4) times on each occassion, i apply thru Abuja as i reside here, and i am going to apply for Tourism again this month to go on holiday in December. On the four occasions, didn't you apply yourself? Anyway, once you get a letter of introduction from your company, there is not need to include any personal letter of introduction but make sure you include your Visa Application Letter and try to include paid hotel reservation to avoid any chance of denial. You don't seem to have problem, your application will be treated as frequent traveler. Gbamm over n out |
dpee4real: i was at d lagos embassy for study permit on d 19th nov.i ws asked to get a SAQA evaluation.is this a requirement at d abuja embassy also?am thinking of applying in abuja next wk.i didnt aprc8 d procedures at lagos.also,i have a sponsor and was told to attachd his copy of ID to d bank statement,bt hv seen comments here about covering letter,hp d staff wsnt mistaken? TanxNo SAQA no study permit, besides how did you secure admission without SAQA evaluation or you applied for short course without SAQA requirement? Wherever you plan to submit your application, their requirement is the same, however, if you are admitted for undergraduate course, to be on a safer side, attach your sponsor's ID and covering letter to his/her bank statement but if you are going for masters try and get the money into your acct if possible attach a covering letter too to explain the source of the money if you are not working. STENACO: The school I applied to is North west university. They have not actually required me to pay the tuition but I insisted to pay the minimum amout for registration which they approved. I went with the x ray they said they do not need that. They collected everything but left that one. I called them they still said it is not fully processed. I dont know what they are up to. Could there be there is any other thing required I thought they would have told me by the time I called. If I had known I would still be able to apply for permit from their country I would have gone there with visitors permit. I went to south africa last year and I returned at the right time because I never knew I would be able to process that from their country.North West University is more or less like UNISA, they operate full time and distance learning study mode, if your course can be completed through distance learning mode, i am afraid you may have problem with your study permit and if otherwise then be patient, good luck. You are not to submit the x-ray result but x-ray medical report (The report will be in form of a letter addressed to the embassy from your medical doctor stating the result of the x-ray.) STENACO: I submitted my application for study permit to south african embassy for the past one month two weeks and they still tell me is still being processed. I dont know if anything could br worng. I got the medical insurance from their country, paid the repatriation fee as well.I am meant to travel by december. I have been to south africa before and I did not break any immigration rule so I returned to nigeria when I was due to return. I am worried over the time this have taken. My whole documents are authentic and I even paid 10percent of the tuition fee. I dont know if I have done anything wrong here?I realise it usually take longer time to process South African Study Permit from Nigeria but i don't really know why, compare to short processing time if applied within South Africa. However, i think you should be patient, you will be contacted soon. Meanwhile, is the 10% tuition deposit the requirement from your school? Apart from the medical issurance, did you include your x-ray medical report? On the other hand, i wonder why you expect other applicants to call you for enquiries? Please note, if you are applying to any institution in South Africa, make sure your the school is well recognised and Home Affairs normally approve study permit to their prospective applicants as some schools are only recognised as distance learning institution e.g (Unisa-University of South Africa) except masters and PhD students. If for instance you applied to unisa for undergraduate course, Home Affairs will not approve study permit for you based on the fact that you can as well complete such program through distance learning in your own country, however Home Affairs may approve your study permit as an undergraduate of such school if you are currently residing in South Africa legally (even if you are on visiting visa) but you must be recommended with supporting documents from your school, otherwise your application for study permit may not be granted Gbamm over n out |
awesome_t: Collinsfbi thank you so much for your great responses on this thread. I have a question with regards to Medical Insurance cover for Study Permit. Should the cover you pay for cover the entire length of your studies or you can do a minimum of 6 months? What is the acceptable cover length that the embassy requires. If you have enough cash you can go for the one that will cover your entire period of study but you can as well go for a minimum of six month medical insurance, it's accepted. surdik: @collinsfbi... Is it true south African embassy here in nigeria do call applicant? If true what are the likely questions ?It's true, but they do not call to conduct interview with anybody on phone, they normally call applicants if there is need to provide additional information/documents in support of their application or to pay repatriation fee with specific deadline. @stylz:If it's recent with international health regulations of 2005(or any recent date), it must also contain batch no of drugs administered with appropriate and recognise issuer stamp and approved stamp of vaccination centre of the federal republic of Nigeria. One of these days, I will upload a scanned copy of the accepted yellow card by SA Embassy. Gbamm over n out |
opsy4real1: Thanks for the link but am afraid the links aint relevant for the desired purpose and destination. The NHSltd.com is Australia appointment booking while the other one is Canada. none of them is for South Africa. ThaknsI am sure you don't know how to use the link, for your information NHCltd has different centres in South Africa, some in Jo'burg and another in Gauteng here in Pretoria (eg Netcare) , I wonder why it has to take you to Australia. You can do research your own. Gbamm over n out |

Bt pls, as regards my 1st que, what i mean is that what is study permit fee and is there any other required payment at the embassy. The repatriation fee can be paid at the application centre where you are to submit your application. As for the application fee, I don't know how much in naija but is R425 in SA (approx 8,500) but am sure it can't be more than the 18k charged for tourist visa in naija. Gbamm over n out |

awesome_t: How does one get Proof of medical or insurance cover registered and recognised by South African Govt while here in Nigeria? Which Insurance company here in Nigeria offers such insurance. Also how does one secure the repatriation fee? I just secured admission for a PhD program at UCT.Home Affairs does not accept insurance cover issued by Nigeria Insurance Companies, it must be from a registered and recognised insurance company in SA. Though there are many registered and recognised insurance company in SA but you can contact momentum, they are based in Pretoria and I got one from them sometimes ago https://www.momentum.co.za/for/you/products/health As for repatriation, that one can be settle in Naija at VSF Lagos Application Centre, it's cheaper in naija compare to SA. Business School are suppose to provide for Internship but I don't know about GSB. Collins guy you suppose know set man need better job. What do you mean about if I am afraid of going to Cape Town? My major motive is to attend a recognise business school that will not tear my pocket, meet people and network. Likewise, increase my opportunities for better jobs (honest truth)Compare their tuition and go for the one you can afford. Besides Cape Town of today is not as bad as it was before. Boss13: @Collins (I wonder how you know so much about South African - very nice). Anyways I want to do an MBA program with GSB Cape Town but I am held back because of this "Nigerian Factor" - You know the negative things, Crime Rate and also the No Jobs in S.A. I want you to be truthful to me, what are the possibilities of me having a job in South Africa after the program. I currently have an ACCA Qualification. Be honest with me. I pray you reply on time so that I can kick start (initiate) the process. The school has been sending me numerous emails and SMS. Many thanksI am sorry for replying late but to be sincere with you, there is high rate of unemployment in SA and it's a great disadvantage for foreigners seeking employment opportunities in SA except for some science professionals such as medical doctors/nurses etc. I don't want to discourage you but if you are so much interested in coming to SA, you can try GIBS business school of University of Pretoria if you are afraid of going to Cape Town. There is possibility of getting a job even while schooling but UNIP is very expensive (95% white) and there are various elements of racism, aside these, I can assure you that you will enjoy UNIP. On the other hand, if your major motif is coming to get a job, pls stay back because the story maybe the other way round. Gbamm over n out |
collinsfbi: I have similar case with babsademola but my brother wants to sponsor me and am going for 3months course. Is this easy?why did you put my name as the poster of your query? Well if that is all you want to ask I think you don't have much problem, just a tourist visa with a few months extension will do that. Gbamm over n out |
honey001: Just having discussion with a friend as regard making heaven. I asked this same question and he answered yes. I am still going to ask the same question here, what will be the fate of Muslims, will they make heaven? The reason am asking is that i was made to believe that only those that believe in Jesus christ as the son of God will see God on the last day.what are you trying to achieve with this thread? Obviously you are not God to judge who will make heaven or not, you are only trying to create big time wahala with this thread. gbamm over n out |

otunbaneyo09: Please am planing to travel to S.A sometime next year for visiting but I want to see maybe I can get working permit my area of specialization is building construction and I specialize in Interlocking and tiling and little in painting .please I need your advice or any alternative country thanks.Don't be deceived by anybody, you can't get any work permit but I can't dispute your chances of getting one not until you get to SA and sort yourself out. babsademola: Oh good....thanks for your time and prompt reply. Please get me right sir.... I purposely want to travel in order to study and this is why the medical option you gave for S. A seems confusing (I hope you understand this sir). My aunty said, she want me to travel Abroad and study... I made mistake for not telling you all this before now.Sometimes your reply really make me laugh with how you express yourself and how you coin your words. It shows that you only read my comment without any understanding sorry to say. The medical option I gave you is for you to get your application submitted at South African Embassy anytime you want it, without it you may not be able to get early submission till around December or January as appointments for submission must have been booked to cover November and probably December. Medical option will only help you to get early submission and it won't affect your visa and there won't be any medical indication on your visa. Besides, when you are already planning to study in the UK, why going to SA to waste money? I will advise to go and process your UK visiting visa and forget abt SA. If at this point you still don't understand me then I have nothing to tell you. Gbamm over n out |
babsademola:What is your purpose of traveling and why do you think you can't be granted visa? There is no shortcut anywhere, if you meet the requirements for any country I see no reason why you shouldn't get your visa but I am still not sure why you want to waste 700k all because you have someone who will give such to you. I see no reason for you to travel if you don't have a genuine purpose for traveling. I hope you understand why I gave this reply? Your post above shows that you have no clear purpose or destination and I hope you won't mind if you can explain why you just want to go anywhere. Gbamm over n out |
