dude its more than common knowledge how far people will stoop to work outside Nigeria, doing things they would never think of doing.
Wow. Tell me - what is wrong in doing menial jobs - to make ends meet?? Are we soo proud as Nigerians?? Its all about personal choice - many people would choose to do a menial job, and have security and peace of mind, than to go the 419/yahoo boys route to get quick cash.
I get so pissed when nigerians at home make fun of others that are doing menial hard work - hustling to have a better life. You are an idiot if you think it is something to be ashamed of.

And yes, every country has its own malaria - pedophilia, serial killers, clifford orji, jos wahala and co. The difference is simple.

The law (for the most part) works here. In naija - everyman for himself.

We're not saying naija is developed, far from it.
We're saying most of us educated peeps who work hard in Naija are better off than 90% of our contemporaries abroad.

We're very comfortable while most of you slave inside the cold, are paid minimum wage, run from immigration, leave in cheap apartments with no heating, buy stuffs from 99p shops and JC Penny.

When u see some of us who come for hols, u pple always beg us to drop small thing before returning home.
Granted, 10% of u live well but that 10% are serious hard working professionals or criminals and wont have time to chat trash on NL.
hahahahaha WHAT??
So Ignorant. Please educate yourself.
I come on NL cos I love catching up on things going on at home, love the typical naija bickering back n forth etc etc. Has nothing to do with what you think.

And to the poster that said 'only the strong survive in naija' WHAT THE HELL IS THAT EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
What do you mean by strong? Strong in mind? Or heart? Or brain? Or what? So what is supposed to happened to the supposedly weak?

The problem with Nigeria is with her mentality. No change in mentality, no fwd progress.

Wow this thread exemplifies the problems with naija today.
So much bad belle/haters out here today! Ok, one of you pls explain to me - why do we still see thousands upon thousands of nigerians lining up various embassies, trying to escape naija? Is it cos they have money to waste like that??
I'll tell you what abroad (for the most part) gives you that naija doenst (yet) have - security, opportunities, BASIC living amenities etc etc. You can struggle and SUCCEED here - for naija you may struggle till you die

And all you haters, hating on pple doing menial jobs - listen. I have an uncle, when he first came here, he suffered - worked odd jobs, ihop, mcdonalds, wash plates, delivered newspapers etc etc name it you did it - he suffered initially, but now he is LIVING LARGE - seeing the fruits of his labor. Has multiple houses, cars and those vanities that you pple consider success.

In naija, you will see our graduates roaming the streets in search of jobs etc, no need to talk bout basic stuff like water, light, security, internet etc etc.
To each his own sha. Just stop hating ya'll.

See all these naija pple back home that have been rejected visa 20 times (yet still applying) - coming on here to insult others that have left.
Haters! una no dey taya? lol cheesy

I left naija cos well the opportunity arose that I cld leave to get a BETTER education - zero strikes, cults etc etc.
Plus I hated the mosquitoes, heat, nepa, insecurity, lack of real opportunities etc etc

For those saying that there are problems everywhere - true, you're right - but there are different levels of problems. The ones for naija sometimes just too much, and when you can't see any light at the end,

To that clown Tippy that was talking nonsense, look here mate, its not just about getting a good president or whatevers - its the MINDSET that is wrong with Nigerians. As long as this doesnt change, we'll be stuck in this madness.

Runway excursions take place all over the world for a variety of reasons ranging from bad weather or visibility on final approach, to water on the runway, brake failure, or thrust reverser deployment issues, so it is a wrong assumption to declare that the Port Harcourt incident was the result of pilot error.

Laff no gree me for this thread. I don laff laff tayaaaaaa - una well done oooo

My own version wee I hear

Final score - 99-1. We scored in the LAST MINUTE, and the LAST GOAL.

When India get the ball, and shoot it, it will turn to either LION or STONE or SNAKE or one kain fear fear ANIMAL - na ein our keeper go run comot from post EVERYTIME and our players will be running from the ball.

Until the LAST MINUTE, one of ur guys tried to shoot the ball (cos the ball always disappeared when you wanted to shoot it), but anyways, his shoe lace was not tied very well, so as he SHOT, he SHOE came OUT and the goalkeeper CAUGHT THE SHOE INSTEAD OF CATCHING THE BALL - and thats how we scored our only goal

cheesy cheesy cheesy

Wow, again? So soon??

Islam Islam Islam. The religion that is trying to completely divide Nigeria.
I'm still surprised that some so called Nigerians on here still choose to live in delusion - saying that its more of a political cause that religion. Get your head out of you ', '

Islam is the cause of ALL our troubles. With Islam you have horrendous violence, zero education etc etc.

On a side note, I'm the only Nigerian student in my medical class, specifically Virology - and all the current re-occurrences of numerous viruses and pathogens in the past couple years are always from NORTHERN NIGERIA. Stupid islamic states!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the head is not broken, then this disease that is Islam will continue to perpetuate.

I used to be staunchly pro-one united Nigeria. But now, i'm not so sure anymore. The south is not perfect, but majority of our woes AS A COUNTRY are from the North - are from our dealings with ISLAM.

God help us. This madness has to stop

Yet another confirmation that Blatter has definitely outlived his usefulness.

Couple reasons why he may be thinking of implementing this useless rule:
1. To please the americans. We all know that americans dont watch football cos they say that its too long and boring and NOT ENOUGH GOALS. Aboloshing offside rule will give unlimited goals - inzaghi would be the happiest of them all.
2. Like some1 stated earlier, he doesnt want to implement video regulation. I'm mixed on this one - on one hand i'd love to see this, but on the other,

Blatter needs to go - we need fresh minds and ideas on there on how to improve the standard of referring, what to do bout divers and cheaters and diving-and-falling-on-the-ball-and-catching-the-ball-while-falling-before-ref-fit-blow. That thing dey vex man-pikin.

CrimeArmed Robbers Kill Innocent Travellers Along Lagos-benin Expressway by comechop(op): 7:15am On Mar 02, 2010
Robbers kill 20 on Sagamu/Benin Road- Trailer crushes 16 to death in Lagos, - As 11 CAC members escape death

From Olayinka Olukoya, Kunle Oderemi and Dele Aderibigbe, Lagos - 02.08.2009

No fewer than 20 passengers travel ling on the Sagamu-Ore- Benin Expressway lost their lives when a truck crushed them to death during a robbery operation.

The incident which happened in the early hours of Saturday, involved a luxury bus with registration number Edo XF 285 AKD and a truck with number plate Edo XN 808 BEN.

Sunday Tribune gathered that another accident that claimed two lives also occurred on Friday night around 10.45 pm, along Ijebu-Ode- Ore end of the expressway.

This accident was reported to have involved a white Toyota Hiace, marked Edo XQ 201 EKY and a blue Bedford lorry marked XA 565 WER.

The fatal accident was said to have happened around BabCo*k University, Ilisan junction and Odogbolu areas of the highway.

ST learnt that the luxury bus which was on a night journey to the Eastern part of the country, unfortunately, ran into a gang of armed robbers operating on the expressway.

The robbers were reported to have blocked the highway with a huge log of wood and ordered the passengers to disembark from the bus.

The innocent passengers it was learnt, were ordered to lie down on the highway before a trailer said to be on top speed ran over the robbery victims and killed all of them.

Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, (FRSC), Ogun State, Mr. Olu-Mike Olagunju, said that he could not ascertain the cause of the accident as at the time of filing this report.

He said that 13 men and seven women lost their lives immediately while two men were reported to have been seriously injured.

He said,” This incident is unfortunate. What we observed is that there was no dent on the luxury bus, which indicated that the vehicles did not run to each other. The most likely cause of the accident could be because of the activities of armed robbers.

“We have said it over and over again that people should avoid night journeys. If people do not travel at nights, there is hardly a way that kind of accident would not be avoided. At least the truck would have seen people lying on the road while the motorists would have even known that robbers were operating on the road.”

Meanwhile, 16 people were also crushed to death at Ikotun Lagos by a trailer, which was descending a slope near synagogue church on Saturday evening, and victims were mainly roadside trailers.

The tragedy was caused by brake failure and many were trapped.

Sympathisers wailed as rescuers retrieved the wounded, who were still gasping for breath.

Mutilated bodies, including that of children littered the area.

Meanwhile A man, rushed to a private hospital in Shagamu, Ogun State after being critically wounded in an accident when his brand new Toyota car rammed into a stationary truck on Saturday, at Kilometer 79, Lagos – Ibadan Road, may owe his life to his seat belt.

The accident, involving a Toyota car marked Lagos RA 316 AAA which occurred at about 7.00 am according to eye witnesses, incidentally took place just a few minutes before a 14- seater Toyota commuter bus marked XP 409 GGE chartered by the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Aanu, Apapa in Lagos State for an engagement in Ogun State was also involved in another accident near same spot, sending all occupants to another hospital.

While eye witnesses could not ascertain why the car driver failed to sight the stationary truck, they however agreed on the fact that the man must thank his God for his seat belt, in addition to the timely assistance of two towing vehicle operators, who, in the absence of any policeman came to his rescue, and took him to Owokoniran Hospital, in Shagamu.

One of the towing vehicle operators told the Sunday Tribune that having discovered that the man from all indications would survive the accident if timely assisted, said they felt compelled to offer the little assistance they could by salvaging him from his wrecked car, and spiriting him away to the hospital.

PoliticsVideo Shows Nigerian Security Forces Shooting People At Close Range (boko haram) by comechop(op): 5:59am On Feb 10, 2010
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlpZr8IRUcY

Reports of extrajudicial killings by Nigerian security forces circulated widely in the aftermath of clashes last year between the police and members of Boko Haram, a group that called for the enforcement of Islamic law, or sharia, across Nigeria.

Now Al Jazeera has obtained exclusive footage that appears to show Nigerian security forces ordering a number of people to lie in the road and then shooting them at close range.

Human rights groups allege that many of those killed following the clashes were unarmed civilians.

The footage obtained by Al Jazeera would appear to confirm those accusations.

Mike Hanna has this exclusive report.

Warning: The video contains images that may disturb or offend some viewers.

Issa hayatou needs to go. Its about time that we stood up against the past 20 years of his dictatorship. African football really hasn't moved forward in a long time, and its time for fresh ideas and innovation.

The problem arises when our leaders want to stick to their so called rules, at the expense of rational thought and action. 3 people were freaking killed, and yet you have the guts to ban them.

Madness.
