toksbee007: Why is dis NL full of idiot except for some few responsibleWhat do you expect when most of the present Nigerian youths are only good at chatting, defrauding, indulging in Exam malpractices, cultism and discussing useless things that they hardly have the time to read their books, listen to news, research, and study our political development with keen interest so that even when they want to disagree with views and actions of individuals/leaders, they will do it with high sense of responsibility, civility, decency, and decorum, while presenting intelligent arguments predicated on facts.I pray that all those who have jettisoned healthy and constructive criticisms and resorted to vilifying Jonathan and his Family will live to be vilified, insulted and humiliated by others.Unfortunately, most of them will never dream of attaining Goodluck Jonathan's height both Politically and Academically. |
He didn't just respond to questions in a dignified manner, but gave matured and intelligent answers to most of the critical questions, so i sum my assessment with the following words;Educative, informative, enlightening and revealing. |
I think the president is trying, and the impacts of his efforts could only be felt if Nigerians from all walks of life shun greed, sectionalism and selfish policking, and confront our challenges with sincerity. Terrorism is a new development in our political life, and Nigeria lacks the institutional nay structural mechanism to defeat it outrightly now, so every one needs to lend his support so that we shall defeat these animals. As the president of Nigeria, Jonathan must be criticized at all times, but people need not be unnecessaryly harsh, disrespectful and unintelligent in their comments, cos most of the frauds that are being probed today were not committed under Jonathan's administration. Again we need to realize that we are practicing presidential system of government, so the president doesn't have abosute power, hence the need for us to realize that the strenght of a democratic govt is in it's legislature. Alot of scandals had taken place there, yet we've never bothered to occupy National Assembly so that they would do their jobs without anti-people compromise. |

otokx: but why should JTF be the ones to be announcing the intent of Boko Haram to bomb? What a ridiculous question....... |
adino: They ve killed him now n hope they will rest. One thing that struck me during the protest was the world class infrastructures all over Egypt shown on tv. Mubarak built Egypt and now check out his reward, these Arabs sure do not Deserve good leaders. His was a life well lived and fulfilled but betrayed by his people, if only any of our useless aboki generals did quarter of what he did. In the eyes if God I know he will be favored more than many prophets and imams, this is someone that protected his people from the crazy islamists (he even had to ban the Moslem brotherhood) but now look at his reward while Egypt is now in the hands of the crazed islamists. I can only say Egypt welcome to chaos and alqaedalism, while for Mubarak adieu ;(YOU WERE A GREAT MAN;(. For those condemning Mubarak, I wish you what Egyptians wished themselves and got.You got it right....Mubarak had his short comings as a leader, but he to a great extent ensured that Egypt had peace, security and infrastructure. He wasn't a war monger, and therefore prevented unnecessary agrression against his country. Even when the revolution was ragging he tried to calm his people, but when they refused, he stepped down. I believe in democracy, but not the madness that's already rearing it's ugly head after the exit of Mubarak! |
j2012: silly post. Very silly indeedI don't think he's serious, he sounds like a funny character who's just out to entertain him self.....so forgive him! |
ismhab: The only last remaining and standing dictator to die in this world soon or later is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. If at all you will not die before him......bunkum! |
Timi Alaibe is 50 yrs, Agbani Darego is 30yrs...... Timi Alaibe is Rich, Agbani Darego is Rich.....Timi Alaibe is a Nigerian from South South, Agbani Darego is a Nigerian from South South.....Timi Alaibe is widowed and Eligible for marriage, Agbani Darego is Single and Eligible for Marriage.....so why all these ridiculous insinuations about Agbani's motive for the reported marriage? Why all these degrading description of Alaibe? Must we impugn on peoples character to air our views? Must we smear people's image and present them in bad light because we have democracy and access to social network? Put your self in another person's shoes, and chew before vommiting! |

UNILAG RENAMING: PONDER FOR WE NATION OF BANDWAGON CULTURE By Ferdinand Ekeoma. The first time I learnt that the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has been renamed Moshood Abiola University of Lagos (MAULAG), I was overwhelmed, and instantly felt a sense of joy, justice and relief. Joy because the Abiola story had laid a burden of sorrow to many hearts , justice because the non-recognition of Abiola’s monumental impacts on a high scale represented an injustice of immense proportion, and Relief because the burden of guilt the Nigerian State carried as a result of it’s refusal to immortalize Abiola has to a certain extent been reduced. As a small boy who just left primary school before the June 2012 volcano came knocking, I can’t claim to be a reservoir of in-depth knowledge of the tricks, intrigues and the jiggery pockery of the pre and post June 12 palaver, and even if I were, my mission here isn’t to point accusing fingers on who played what role in that democratic debacle, rather I desire to critically filter what I have heard, read, and seen on a screen of truth and take only the good that comes true. Simply put that, I want to humbly look at the man Abiola and the merit or otherwise of Goodluck Jonathan’s proclamation. In a nutshell, the man, Moshood Kashimawo Olawole Abiola was a renowned Nigerian business man, politician and philanthropist of monumental reference. In a country sharply divided by religion, he contested with a fellow Muslim and won an election that was adjudged the most free and fair election ever conducted in Nigeria. His election was unjustifiably annulled, he was later arrested, incarcerated for years, and he later died in detention in a very questionable circumstance. While alive, his philanthropy was felt in almost every nook and cranny of Nigeria. His impacts in the education sector were overwhelming, and till today remain unequalled. He didn’t only build hostels in many Nigerian Universities, both state and federal, but he is also credited to have built 63 Secondary schools, 41 Libraries, scholarships to thousands of students, and paid bursaries as well; a feet that many state governments have woefully failed to achieve today. Now I breath in, I breath out, I pulse, and I ponder in sobriety, and rhetorically ask; does some one who achieved this magnificent feet deserve a recognition? My answer is in the affirmative. He doesn’t just deserve a recognition, but an extraordinary one for that matter. Now the question that I bluntly confront myself with is; did my dear president Jonathan follow the supposed modus operandi for renaming the institution? My answer is no, and capital no. Though some legal experts have argued that the president has the powers to change the name of the school without necessarily revisiting the act of 1962, but my opinion is that, since UNILAG was established by an act of the national Assembly, the president should have gotten the approval of the National Assembly before the announcement of the name change, on that I find my president guilty of “Administrative Misadventure” , so who ever based his argument on non consultation of the law, I delete your name from my UNILAG-MAULAG palaver foes. But as I behold you activists, I said to my self; were the true man of justice and pillar of activism, Late chief Gani Fawehinmi to be alive, he would certainly have given his endorsement to this decision not minding the language of this 1962 act. Now, I get into the rings, to give punches of facts and receive same from these latter day activists and anti MAULAG apostles. Many of you have to my utmost disgust and disappointment attacked this decisions because of your alleged suspicion that it’s Jonathan’s political strategy to woo and win the support of the South West. Let me quote from an article entitled, “Name change as a game changer” written by a columnist, Mr. Shola Oshunkeye in the sun of Sunday, June 3, 2012. He describe Abiola as a man of Valor and Honor, and praised Jonathan for his decision to honor Abiola, and condemned Obasanjo for refusing to honor him, and went ahead to add, “all these made me to give Jonathan thumbs up last Tuesday. But as the day wore on, and the import of the presidential proclamation sank, I began to fell some sense of indignation. First, I began to think that the president might have played a little politics with the decision. I figured that given the fact that the rulling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has a shaky presence in the South west, coupled with the fact that 2015 may be tighter for the president, I felt he considered the renaming as a package to woo the region, especially Lagos voters”. I have seen many anti MAULAG demonstrators base their opposition on this same argument, and this makes me to shade tears for Nigeria. Some of the question I have asked my self is; what is wrong with a politician playing politics with issues or projects as far as his action/s are of no negative impacts on the people? why have people who hold this view refused to protest against the execution of projects in their areas? Why did these people who allege that the renaming is a political game refuse to protest against the building of power plants in their zones, which I consider better projects to woo a people, than renaming of a University. If these people arguing on this basis are so smart to detect advanced political game of vote winning, why can’t they be smart enough to keep this secrete to themselves and go to the polling boots to vote against Jonathan? If those in this category think that a decision like renaming a University after Abiola is a popularity seeking game, why have they not gone to court to restrain Jonathan and Federal government from executing projects so that he will not win the support of the people? Yes, PDP has disappointed Nigerians no doubt, but are we going to reject noble projects coming from PDP led government because we want to destroy PDP and wrestle power from them? Sincerely, if we chose this unnationalistic and unpatriotic path, we will definitely sink deeper into crisis and underdevelopment. It seems my hearts is panting profusely, may be because I want to confront the keys issue, which is UNILAG. Many have argued that the president should have chosen another University, and not UNILAG. I think this is where the spirit of Abiola will doubt the sincerity and reliability of the Nigerian people. To these anti MAULAG, especially the students and ex students, their beloved UNILAG is a Brand, a Prestigious and a Golden University, too big, too famous, and too special to be named after Abiola; but for me, I see their position as exhibiting petty Ego, Arrogance, Disrespect ,and above all, Avoidable ignorance. Here are the reasons for my position. Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo once said, “when ever I am doing any thing, I am always with my facts, people will accuse me, but cannot accuse my facts”, Once again, Abiola built hostel blocks in many Nigerian Universities before June 12,built 63 Secondary schools, 41 Libraries, thousands of scholarships and Bursaries etc, of course UNILAG was beneficiary. Also, this “Brand’ called UNILAG is not even listed among the best 500 universities in the world, and stands a distant 38 in Africa, therefore, the renaming of UNILAG to MAULAG does not even represent an honor to Abiola, but a commencement of a process to giving an honor to whom honor is due. I stand to be corrected, I have never heard that University of Zaria, renamed Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and University of Ife renamed Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife have dwindled in population and academics because they were renamed. UNILAG isn’t greater than, at least Obafemi Awolowo University, so what is our problem?. May be we are swiftly becoming a people sinking in violent addiction, and doing because others are. Interestingly, some of the commentators have continued to make reference to foreign Universities, as if we are living in a dark age nation where we can neither communicate nor research. I am bothered a little, after all my Late Philosopher King, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo (The Oyi of Oyi) once told me that, “those who air their views without making reference to specific empirical data should rather be pitied than hated”. New college which was later renamed Harvard University in United States, though existed for only three years before being renamed, but it was already renowned being one of the pioneer American universities. No doubt 780 pounds was a big money then, but it was only this single donation to the university by the young British clergy (John Harvard) that made the university to be named after him. What about the prestigious University of Dakar Senegal, that was later renamed University Cheikh Anta Diop, in honour of a renowned Senegalese Historian and Anthropologist, Cheikh Anta Diop after more than thirty two years of its establishment? Have we also forgotten the famous University of science and Technology Ghana, renamed Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology a few years ago in honor of the foremost nationalist, Kwame Nkrumah? Interestingly, the above mentioned universities are rated far above University of Lagos; a doubting Thomas including the Braggadocios Brand masters of “UNILAG”can go and research. So why is UNILAG –Abiola a big issue? Can you imagine some supposed patriots and one Nigeria advocates saying that naming UNILAG after Abiola will amount to ethnicizing the university. But if such people have chosen to ethnicize UNILAG, must they also recreate and redefine Abiola and his philosophy in death. Abiola was not a sectional hero as his philanthropy transcended ethnicity, neither is UNILAG a sectional university. But no qualms, because this UNILAG-MAULAG palaver has shown that most of these preachers of One Nigeria, are actually Pretenders of One Nigeria, for daring to raise such an issue. To insult our sensibilities the more (apology to Obasanjo), these same characters insinuated that Abiola’s impacts were only in the area of sports. This is dangerously disgusting, and clearly amounts to dishonest distortion of available facts of history. But even if it were so, does the President not have the powers to honor him where ever he wishes and chooses? Abiola must have learnt from George Washington who said “our effort as a nation, can never be swifter than our effort in education”, and also from John Major who said, “Education is the greatest elixir for modern development, and life without education, is life lived in ignorance”, hence his, Abiola’s decision to invest in the most appropriate place and save a lot of souls from ignorance, it doesn’t matter if the ignorants appreciate. To M.K.O, I say, do accept this MAULAG token from the federal government, and see it as a sign of repentance by the Nigerian state, as well as an audacious move to rewrite a chequered history. To anti MAULAG opponents, I urge you to enjoy your freedom to protest, the protest made possible by Democracy, and Democray propelled by the Pressure from Abiola’s death. I enjoy your rivalry, but I have decided to divide you into five groups to enable me report you to Abiola, and your groups are as follows; 1. The Grammar Blowing Activists 2.The Rule of Law Apostles, 3. The UNILAG Brand Braggarts 4.The 2015 DO-or-DIE Mongers, and the 5.Beer-Drinking We No Go Gree Protesters/Students. As you try to find out where you belong, I urge you to forgive my short comings and realize that I have made my argument based on the limit of my knowledge, the passion in my heart, and the imperfection of my wisdom, so as those of you anti MAULAG fighters throw your punches of aggression, please do avoid my eyes, after all, I am just your innocent brother and comrade who still desires to visit MAULAG and behold Abiola’s statue of honor waving at the Happy and the Disillusioned, but till then, I will continue to ponder how we have suddenly become a nation of bandwagon culture!.( Ndewo nu umu Obodo Naijiria) |
Most of us seem not to understand the difficulty in confronting suicide pattern of terrorism, especially in a third world country like Nigeria. Look at countries like Afghanistan, Irag, Pakistan, Yemen etc, they are far more advanced than Nigeria, yet they have not been able to overcome terror despite years of confrontation, so in as much as it's normal for people to look up to their leaders for help in times of difficulty, it's wrong to think that Jonathan will do any magic in profering immediate solution to this difficult challenge. Remember that security agents made up of the Army, Polic, Sss etc are there, so it's not the President that will leave his office to go and do their job. Nigeria is sharply divided along ethnic and religious line, that alone makes it difficult to overcome this problem. Also, our pattern of terrorism is appearing to be the most stupid since these animals are targetting only churches, excluding mosques, it means they are fighting Christianity, and that's more reason why they must be defeated. I don't preach violence, but Christians have got to defend themselves against their attackers only, because there are many peace loving muslims, especially in South West who don't have time for this present madness. God willing, these extremists must be defeated! |

Nigerians, thank God we've all resorted to blowing grammer rather than act, while our latter day Activists keep quiet. E-rufai once accuse Ibrahim Mantu of Demanding a bribe of 50 million from him, we did nothing, Obasanjo was accused of sharing billions senators before his 8th attept succeeded getting Chuba Okadigbo impeached, we did nothing, Patricia Eteh Embezzled 650 million, we did nothing, a bill was brought to the National Assembly for the separation of the Local Govt System from the states, as well as the conduct of L.G elections by INEC, they threw it away, we did nothing, a Bill was also brought to the same National Assembly for the establishment of special court for EFCC, they threw it away, and we did nothing, they criminally fixed their own salaries and allowances against what the law says, we did nothing, and today this National Assembly that is responsible for many of our woes is enmeshed in another high profile scandal, yet we are not ready to do any thing, but if we hear tomorrow that Abuja road has been renamed Gani Fawehinmi road, some 2015 mongers parading as activists will deceitfully mobilize us to go and protest for their selfish interests. Shame to our so called activists who don't know when to lead the people! |
Who ever posted this falsehood on Nairaland needs the help of a sychiatrist. I'm so ashamed of many of my fellow youths who are swift in attacking, vilifying and complaining about our leaders, but here, i've found out that most of them are far worse than these leaders we attack. Rather than be positively creative, we spend our time telling petty lies, passing fake stories around, preaching hatred, and advancin ethinic, religious and sectional hatred. Is there any other better way to destroy a nation than what we are doing in NairaLand? When did we degenerate to this shameful level? May God have mercy on us! By Ferdinand Ekeoma. |
owobokiri: I can see that the Otedola Protection Committee (OPC) are in full operation on this thread. How anybody with any atom of good sense will read the whole events going on and say Otedola is innocent beats me. People are even quoting Obasanjos labelling of the HoR as rogues to butress their warped points. Who doesnt know that Obasanjo is involved in this case? Who was Femi Otedola in the oil and gas sector before Obasanjo came to power and made them the oil kings while he was doubling as the oil minister too? Lawans crime was that by demanding bribes from Otedola/Zenon, he was daring Obasanjo/PDP/Jonathan. He bit more than he can chew there and now they will roast him alive while sending the Subsidy report to the dustbin where they have always wanted it to be. Massive corruption in the oil and power sectors is the BEDROCK of the riches accumulated by Nigerias ruling elites over the decades. You cant clean up that sector when you are powerless and corrupt too. What happened to the Power probe report/Elumelu? Is this not Elumelu part 2?First, let me state that i do not know Otedola,i have never seen him before except on Televion and News papers, i have never benefited from his so called billions, and I'm not from his part of the country. If there was any body i admired among the two warring parties, it was Lawan. It's a pity you are whipping up sentiment and dwelling in the usual Nigerian rhetoric of, "I'm Not the Only thief and ' They are prosecuting me because i did this and that" rather than judge these combatants based on available words and actions. Didn't you hear Lawan deny ever collecting a dime, only to make a u turn and admitted? I think you deserve absolute pity for being very warped, blind to written words, and emotionally disorganized to the extent of accusing those whose responses are based on available confession and facts, of being warped. Before you comment in a forum like this, try and read through the lines, listen to the news, and use your brains! |

As you try to find out where you belong, I urge you to forgive my short comings and realize that I have made my argument based on the limit of my knowledge, the passion in my heart, and the imperfection of my wisdom, so as those of you anti MAULAG fighters throw your punches of aggression, please do avoid my eyes, after all, I am just your innocent brother and comrade who still desires to visit MAULAG and behold Abiola’s statue of honor waving at the Happy and the Disillusioned, but till then, I will continue to ponder how we have suddenly become a nation of bandwagon culture!.( Ndewo nu umu Obodo Naijiri) |
I have always cherished this Farouk Lawan, but now, i'm so ashamed of him. If it were in a decent society, i bet u, he would be sure of long jail term. Initially he authoritatively alleged that the video was fake, and even compared it with de Obasanjo Fantom coup video, i almost believed him, but when i read the Otedola version, i said to my self, oh!, the Farouk u like might be in hot soup, and now that Farouk has spoken again, it's obvious who's guilty. You said u never collected a dime, but u have suddenly changed ur story, nomatter how much i like u, i must state that u solicited for and collected a supposed bribe of mischief, for which i'm disappointed in u. I'm neither Otedola's friend nor foe, but i will not pass wicked verdict on him because he's a billionaire oil mafian, but i will exonorate him based on the nature and circumstance of his action in this particular case. Take ur self to be an Otedola whom a greedy House commitee wanted to extort or incriminate despite ur please of innocence, and to deal with them , u brought the money they wanted, contacted security agencies, serialized the money and gave to the greedy looters on camera, to expose their dirty deeds. After that, u forwarded de video to EFCC, and later came out to tell de world what happened, even when ur company is no longer in the list of the indicted companies. Common guys, read tru de lines and use ur brains! |
Time will vindicate as well as justify the position of all those who have been condemning the hopeless style of Governance of Governor Theodore Orji of Abia state. About two weeks ago, when debate about the worst performing governor in Nigeria was ragging, i confidently told Naira Landers that who ever Tasted T.A.Orji, would ask that the governor of his state be given back to him. Though the organizers still declared T.A.Orji the Champion of Misgovernance, but i'm happy that T.A.Orji's garulous and dishonest sychophants have finally cleared what ever doubt any one had prior to this time, after this visionless and clueless characters insulted the sensibilities of all of us with this useless Youth Empower Bullshit. One doesn't need to explain that this character called T.AOrji to you guys any more, except to add that the tricycle was meant to woo helpless youths who will always be mandated to come and line the streets in welcoming T.A.Orji when ever he visits his No Go Area city of Aba, as well as prevent people from booing and attacking him. Remember that a few weeks ago, his son had come to Aba to distribute same Keke Napeps to three different deviant groups, namely; Dambilow( Former Mafians), Columbians ( Stadium based Hemp smokers and Drug Sniffers), and New Yorkers ( Renowned Drug Sniffers and Addicts, and theft specialis). These are the misdeeds that Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba has been criticizing, and for which they abused, insulted and wrote many false and defamatory articles here against this innocent man. Thank God you have all seen it.Thank God the people are condemning them, thank God the wrath of God is on them. |
ismhab: Ojukwu will never be happy where ever he is.what else can you say? |
The President is just an unlucky chap, if not, look at this University of Agriculture Umudike that he wants to change to Michael Okpara University, Umudike was long renamed by Obasanjo without approaching the law that established it, yet no one said any thing, it's just now that GEJ wants to legalize the rename. Like i argued earlier, GEJ made a big mistake by not approaching the National Assembly before renaming UNILAG, but i support the rename hundred percent! |
ogboss: I think its high time they give pilots d previledge of accessing the conditions of d planes de fly, and subdue any higher authority above dem 2 dat effect, cos since d country is corupt, I don't tinl any resonable human being wuld accept bribe 2 fly an air coffinMy brother, it's not a matter of "giving pilots the priviledge of accessing", even if they do, there are things they will not know about de planes cos they are not Air plane engineers, but pilots. It's just a matter of people doing their job to avoid unnecessary tragedies. The pilots trust the worthiness of their planes, because they assume that de necessary agencies are always ready to do their jobs without fraud, but in our decayed Nigeria, de reverse is de case. Though investigations arn't yet over, but all available facts have clearly proved that Dana Airline calously wasted de lives of innocent Nigerians. I don't blame them, but de Nigerian society that has reduced her self to nothing thus making people to disregard de lives of Nigerians. If it were in Japan, China etc at least, de Manager, MD etc would definitely be executed....!! |
BETWEEN JONATHAN, ORJI and REAGAN BY FERDINAND EKEOMA. Since after the random disgrace of the Abia state Governor T.A. Orji by Abians during the burial of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, observers have seen a new twist in the politics of Abia State. This time around, the governor is not talking about himself being in bondage or accusing any body of preventing him from performing, rather he has chosen to accuse one man of being responsible for his unpopularity and rejection by Abians. Recall that his main challenger and the widely acclaimed winner of the last governorship election in the state, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba was during the reception in honour of late Dim Ojukwu at the Enyimba township stadium barricaded in solidarity by Aba residents, and since then it has been unprovoked attacks upon attacks from the governor and his foot soldiers. First, the governor started by accusing Ochiagha Ufomba and his party APGA of being responsible for his disgrace at the stadium, but a very civilized, well thought out and issue based response of denial by the APGA governorship hopeful, led the governor to unfolding his hidden but ungodly packages of insults, lies, verbal attacks, defamatory write ups and laughable vilifications done with atavistic propensity. While attacking the APGA governorship candidate, the governor miscalculated by thinking that Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba would chicken out or join him in the same dirty game of name calling, but he goofed, as Ochiagha bombarded him with more facts about his reckless abuse of the office of the governor, and his very well acclaimed failure in the governance of Abia State. Ochiagha Ufomba’s position was backed up by verifiable facts relating to budget inflation, misinformation, false and deceitful claims of project executions, false declaration of federal allocations and internally generated revenue, wasteful expenditures and misapplication of public funds, non budget implementation and criminal allocations to moribund and privately owned companies. The list is endless. In a bid to cow Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba and probably continue in his unhindered misrule of the state, he engaged a lot of idle minds in many social network sites, bought over many news paper pages and sponsored many false advertorials, dished out attacks through the state owned Radio station, the BCA, all to diminish the intimidating profile of this innocent critic. Beholding the doggedness of Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba and his undampened spirit in checkmating most of his anti people activities and policies, the governor went out of his way dishing out lies reminiscent of the Idunoba folk tale, but as usual, Abians dismissed it with a wave of the hand. Before their boring movie would be over, they came up with a dirty style of using Ochiagha Ufomba’s name to script wicked articles as well as send false and misleading text messages against prominent citizens of the state, including former governor Orji Uzor Kalu. They battled fruitlessly to achieve a result, but all to no avail. To climax their madness, the Abia destroyers who had earlier been bluntly turned down by some respected news papers who considered their cooked up stories as cheap blackmail, turned around to pump in millions of naira into a Roadside Junk News Paper called “The Rising Sun”, employed deviant rookies with a mandate to dish out lies they ignorantly thought could hurt and if possible stop Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba from pursing the course of CHANGE in Abia State .To say that their publications have made mockery of the perpetrators and the sponsors the more, is to state the obvious. As deceitful, callous, misleading and diversionary as their tactics and tissues of lies might be, they have failed woefully in their mission of deceiving Abians and Nigerians. Ochiagha Ufomba’s unquestionable profile and image will continue to diminish and overwhelm the low profiles and battered image of the Abia destroyers, while he tirelessly continues to remind the governor that nothing is happening in Aba textile mills, Ogwe golden chicken, meturological complex, IBB technological village, Abia Palm, Arochukwu paper industry, Modern Ceramics and Golden Guinea breweries; that the state owned National Ambassador News Papers is moribund while he pumps Abia millions in Live Tv shows and other newspapers, advertising his pictures, and that of other defeated political soldiers, and 'proposed project sites', without showing just one completed project in five years of his administration is simply ridiculous and unfortunate. And that the claims about the building of Omuma road, Osusu road, Uratta road, the life threatening Ohanku road, Ngwa road, Obohia road and the heavily flooded Ukwu mango road, Aba/Owerri road, 210 primary health centres, Ohiya electricity project etc are wicked and deceitful, and amount to crime against Abia people. Mr President has since aligned with Ochiagha Ufomba's position on project falsification. In his May 29th democracy day speech, President Goodluck Jonathan confirmed the obvious, that the Ohiya electricity project and Aba/Owerri road and other similar roads were built by the Federal Government. A source from the United Nations also informed this writer that the 210 health centers allegedly built by the State government were built by the United Nations. It is also an established fact that the less than a kilometer Danfodio road was built by a private hotel owner. While the much celebrated foot bridge at Abia polytechnic was built by the ETF. Where then is Abia billions? Only T.A orji can tell. |
Those talking about immunity shouldn't deviate from the issue under discuss, there are just 72 people enjoying this immunity in the whole federation( The 36 state governors and deputies, the President and his Vp), and it's just for 4yrs. Again, how many of the former governors have been sued after the expiration of immunity? How many of our non immuned state and federal law makers have been sued? Slander, defamation, character assassination.....that's the issue here. Oshiomele is human, so for one to post such a picture and nihilistic write up against a man a few months after he lost his wife, is the climax of cruelty. If the News paper is exploiting Press freedom/FOI Law to indulge in such evil mission, then the authors must be punished. Unfortunately most of the posts here are rather disappointing, and show how we the youths have sank deep in morals, as we now cannot differentiate between critical issues and commedies. Is this how we are going to rescue Nigeria from our moribund leaders? Is this how we our going to halt our drifting nation? May God help us! |
