Its a government facility. PCV is free in all Primary Health centres in Port Harcourt, it was only Rota that was paid on request. All columns were dated apart from the IPV, we had the others on tuesday, and asked to come back next tuesday since its once a week for immunization in my present location, else its monday, wednesday and friday in township.

PCV free? that's good. u people r lucky o. Pls kindly make it a date with them for the IPV, its very important, regards to our e-baby. God bless u ma.

Thanks for your response ma'am, on the immunization card, there is OPV 3, Penta 3, PCV3 and IPV, all @14weeks. It was the both thighs that were injected, then some drops in the mouth. We were told to come back for the IPV since it wasn't available.

the IPV certify babies free of Polio virus, am sure date given should not be more than 2 weeks from now.
Meanwhile, r u using govt or private hospital for immunization? cos it seems government hospitals don't give PCV, and if probably ur baby was given that means he is lucky. Was d PCV column dated? if yes, u r lucky. if no, that means he was not given.

OPV will be taken 3 times I.e @birth, 6weeks and 10 weeks while IPV is taken @14weeks. IPV is the final stage of Polio Vaccine. so ur baby will be booked for all.

Nurses always tell us to nly place the area under running water for some minutes. Most babies react to the 6weeks injection onwards.

Why? cos dapping of ice block is what the nurses lecture and not massage.

Yes u can deworm ur self, as long as your baby is up to four months. I have done so. But make sure u tell ur doc so that they can prescribe for u d one that is suitable for nursing mother

i dewormed zino while stil breastfeeding...where the child cant be deworm is,if the mum has dewormed herself and the child z still bn breastfed!let other mamas chook mouth put for this mara.

i know you can't while pregnant, i will assume it's thus safer to wait till after breastfeeding. besides nausea isn't a sign one needs to be dewormed now.

Try and add pepper to your meals, drink water with a slice of lemon/ginger and then try bitter lemon schweppes to manage the nausea.

it could be malaria for all you care so take a test too!

Mama that asked about taking pregnacare, but advised by MIL not to take it, pls always follow your Dr's advice, he knows the reason why he prescribed it. Taking it will not take anything away from you rather u benefit a lot from it.

I may be wrong but I don't think that particular phrase she quoted is a curse, That chapter was about d destruction of Babylonians and God was telling them that since they derive joy in their own pleasure and did not follow his way, boasting in their own power, therefore whatever they think they can avert will surely happen to them. That is where the curse came in.
We all pray not to be a widow and not to cast our young/bury our children.
That phrase is d confession she was trying to talk about. But when we say it, we should let our boast be in the Lord.
That is my own understanding from my study bible and d explanation I got from my hubby cos he is a religious scholar.

U can get vitamin C drop for her and make sure u always drop baby oil on dat soft spot of her head don't allow the spot to get dry at all. Apply mentholatum on her chest and back, foot and palm, wear chest covered cloth for her. pls don't expose her. This phase will surely pass away.
As for d eye discharge, clean with warm water and cotton wool don't use bare hand to wipe. if it persits don't hesitate to see her doctor.

That's how one Nanny breastfed one baby, they nearly lost d baby cos d child has never been breastfed before as in d mother died during his birth, so he has been staying with his aunty from day one and d aunty use to take him to a babysitter where she days 10k monthly, it was when d baby started falling sick and loosing weight that they discovered what actually went wrong.
Only God revive that baby o. may God save us.

EBF baby or not. It's absolutely wrong to leave your baby in a "shop in a market" with a friend to go shopping without making adequate arrangements on what the baby should eat should he or she start crying or leaving clear instructions on what should have been done. The baby is 100% the mother's responsibility.

That's one of the perils of EBF. you have to be with your baby every single time especially when outdoors. If a mum can't stick to the rules of EBF, then why go down that route and leave the poor baby to cry in hunger.

Do not forget that this friend wasn't indoors at home/in a familiar environment. She was in your "mum's shop" and she's probably inexperienced and this is where your mum should have come in (if she was allowed to do so). She should have either carried the baby and comforted or tell the lady where to get bottled water. I'm guessing your mum decided not to do so since the lady and the baby are total strangers and these days where one can't trust anybody, I won't advice my mum or any mum to touch, hold or comfort a stranger's baby.

I hope your mum seriously tongue lashed the baby's mother though.

A lady left her 2months old baby with a friend at my mum's shop. She went into the market to buy some stuff. After she left, her baby started crying uncontrollably and the baby is on EBF(exclusive breast feeding).
The friend couldn't endure the baby's cries anymore and guess what she did?

She bought satchet water, opened it and started giving the 2months old baby.

My mum tried to intervene but the friend said she is tired of the cries and the water wont kill the baby.
I dont think the lady values her friend's baby at all. It was so surprising

from day one till now (10 months 2 weeks) my baby doesn't sleep for 2 hrs in a stretch, so don't worry. he only sleeps for like 3 hers at a stretch at nite wake up for breastfeeding then sleep again. it think its nature.
Some r heavy sleeper while some sleep for lesser hours.

In the other news, His back is Dry, flaky and scaling. what can I use pls. Exactly when adult uses hot ingredient and reacting to it. You get the picture...? I've stopped dettol antiseptic and powder.

As for d dry scaly back, my baby once had it and I was advised to stop rubbing cream on his back that I should be using only powder ( I mixed moju powder with rising powder), before I know it, it started falling off and we r back to our Shea butter.

Advise needed from y'all. My baby boy is just 3 weeks old today. A week ago,we noticed this rash growing on his neck,not heavy though but still noticeable, and we started applying MARHABA PRICKLY HEAT POWDER, and it seemed to subside,but reading the instructions on the powder pack, I saw that the powder is not to be used for children under 3yrs of age, we had to discontinue for fear or causing damage to the boy's skin. Now the rash on the neck has cleared but has spread to his face and spreading gradually. The baby does not sweat as our living apartment is big,airy and quite cool, so I might want to rule out rash due to heat. I iron his clothing even after they dry from washing, and his bed spread is changed every days. We use Cussons range of baby products. We use SUDOCREM for his bum bum(no rash on here though, but don't know if it can be applied on his face too.
What could be the cause of the rash on his body then, now on his face, and what can we do to clear it? Expert advice needed please.

Am not an expert but I want to believe that d body is adjusting outside womb.
You can use Rising baby powder.
Pls be careful when applying powder on him especially on his face to avoid baby inhaling it.
Also, u can be using Shea butter/ Vaseline as body cream for him.
As for me I don't cream my baby face for d fear of rashes and his face is so smooth.
